I like the tip about the wall anchor. I decided to go cheap on the trigger for mine, I took it apart, smoothed the trigger, smoothed the trigger body, sharpened the angles, removed the accu-trigger blade and put it back together. After that I shimmed the trigger so there is .002 trigger side-side movement. It pulls so easily. I did this to my ruger american rimfire in 22lr and 22mag also. After people shoot my rifle, they all comment on how nice the trigger is and who did it. I did something similar to ruger 10/22 trigger also, but ended up buying a timney calvin, I couldn't get it how I liked it.
Thanks for keeping this going. I have the factory trigger adjusted all the way down on mine but havent checked the pull weight. I can live with the pull weight but its a bit "gritty". Still has less than a hundred rounds through t so it may smooth up a bit but if I get serious I think this will be on the list.
Absolutely. Yeah, I knew I was going to change the trigger from the beginning. That blade in the trigger just doesn't fit my shooting style and I want to have a similar style and pull weight across all of my rifles.
Under the current NRL22 rules, yes. However, the season ends in May/June and they might change the base class rules for next year so you might want to wait until the 2024-2025 season rules are posted before making a decision. Also, if you want to do PRS Rimfire production class then you can NOT modify the factory trigger. So if you want to use your NRL22 base class rifle in PRS Rimfire Production make sure you adhere to the stricter set of rules.
I changed my trigger spring to the m*carbo. The trigger is at 1.6 lbs now. I'm shooting bagged groups of .25 at 50 yards and .70 at 100 yards. I'm still struggling to not buy the Timney trigger. Do you think there is any reason to still buy it?
For me I wanted a lighter trigger pull, but most importantly I hated the feel of the accu-trigger safety blade and wanted a more conventional trigger shape. I don't think you'll see any difference in group size, it will just change the interaction with the rifle. The lowest I think the Timney can go is 1.0 lbs. It's a great trigger, but if what you have works for you (which it seems like it is) then the money could go towards a decent amount of ammo or something else.
What spring did you use for the Ruger Precision from MCarbo? I can't find any Ruger Precision Rimfire stuff on their site, just the Ruger American which I believe is a different action/trigger.
Ahh gun ASMR with that bag lol great tip!
Thanks for the tips about the plastic bag and the wall anchors. Will use these tips for sure.
Glad it was helpful! The bag trick has saved me a lot of frustration over the years. No more searching for tiny parts that fly across the room.
If only he had turned the bag over so we could actually see what he was doing.
Thank you for the great instructions…you helped make my install smooth and easy!
Glad it helped!

Nice! I think the trigger is one of the most important parts of the rifle to get "right".

Another good video.
Glad you enjoyed it
I just removed the big trigger adjustment spring. Now I have a nice 8 oz trigger.
You removed that one spring and it allows you to get it as low as 8 oz trigger pull?
@@Blackhawk556. Yes, and polished up some of the rough areas.
Did the exact same thing to mine. No need for the drop in. Remove the adjusting screw, pop out the spring, and you’re done.
This confused me with the rules. So are trigger modifications (spring changing, drop in triggers, etc) allowed for base class?

👍
For the amount you pay for a Timney, it should come complete and ready to drop-in.

@Copper Star Precision Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll probably just buy more sk rifle match instead. Keep the videos coming.

@@Dot50Cal the Ruger American rimfire spring fits.
