Saw this video, decided to buy because it looked so easy. Hadn't been fishing since I was a little kid(some time ago). Finally went fishing with these lures - second cast I caught a fish. All-in-all within a hour or two I had caught 10 fish. Great video, very informative, great product! Thanks!
The small rainbow colored or the brown speckled castmasters are brutal for trout. I have slayed them many a day with that lure and as its name infers, you can really chuck that lure way out there and accurately. Its my go to, probably should keep it a secret huh? Lol. There is a much smaller Trout Mag I use on my fly rod on trout streams. It works great too. Trout go for large baits or small baits (flies) that a bass will ignore.
@@FishHawk So many guys in their video never share the rigs they are using and it always annoys me. I love how you show these rigs. I am new to fishing and always wanna know the rigs to fish certain areas

Between this and your other Trout Magnet videos, I am convinced. Just bought a trout magnet kit. Comes with a ton of lures and bobbers and stuff. I'm excited. Hopefully they sponsor you, you convinced me to buy them.
I've done really good with the small white grubs from powerbait. Usually put a splitshot with a bit of line to the hook. I'll try the trout magnet with your setup
You guys make this whole fishing thing look easy... Going to try them with the barrel swivel and small split shot weight. Fish on!

Word of advice, dont promote Trout Magnet too much in any of your videos since you want them to sponsor you. If you keep praising their product without them sponsoring you then they probably won't end up sponsoring you because they figure "why give this man free tackle or money to promote our product when he already does it for free?".... company's will always tale advantage of free advertising. Reel cool vid Hawk! Though my great grand parents were raised in west virginia ive never been there. Looks like a perfect place to fish a quiet creek. Keep up the awesome vids bro! Trout magnets are on my tackle to try list!!
Great tip about the barrel swivel + split shot, will have to try that out asap. That's always been one of my problems fishing the TM, I can't seem to cast it as far as I like. I guess it doesn't help that I'm using a 5'6" ultralight and 2lb line. Other problem being I'm always getting the darn thing snagged underwater if I use it w/out the float. Still trying to work that out since we're supposed to keep the lure as close to the bottom of the river as possible but that's usually why it gets snagged so much.
That was very enjoyable to watch. Nice vid. I’m in central PA and I actually gave up on the trout fishing, it got so bad. Canoe Lake up here holds trout, but darned if I can find them from the bank. Ready for football and cooler weather. 91 degrees today. Enough!! Ok, keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to new trout vids
Thanks, I really appreciate it! Don't give up man! I was actually checking out some trout fishing water in PA today (on the pc). PA has some amazing trout fishing. Got a trout fishing vid coming up towards the end of this week! Stay tuned!
You have to try some NW Georgia spotted bass("Alabama bass" as of 2013) fishing in any body of running water.I'm originally from Michigan and lived in Northeast. They pull like smallies but they run a little bigger. Nothing like Kentucky spots or largemouth. Super small bodies of water, but they get massive because of the usual southeastern loaded forage.
Nice,I have those with me at all times pretty much. Last weekend I was using them on a baitcaster with a light shallow spool,on 4'6" UL rod. Wasn't casting really that far. In order to get them to go anywhere, I needed to get used to casting them with a specific technique. It's a bit of a challenge, but I did land some sunfish and crappies with it. It's way easier to throw around things 2 grams and heavier. I was glad I didn't need to use a spinning setup lol.
Yea I always use swivels with trout magnets I also use them with moustails I'm from pennsylvania so trout are pretty common to hit those types of baits and lures

I love 1st cast fishing, one day i caught my trout linit 6 in as many casts, and even worse/better there were a bunch of people catching nothing, even a boatful and i caught fish casting right next to their boat. Lmao. Good times
Great video, I’ve been getting back into some creek fishing here lately myself. Man nothing beats some good fishing in ultra light gear. Keep up the great work man 👊🏻
I'm not sure I've ever seen a knot break, though a lot of anglers talk about it. Knots come untied, and the line breaks because fish can wear on it, and rocks wear on it more. Even the tiniest of nicks from abrasion can cause the line to break. Stop tying an improved clinch knot and you'll have fewer knots coming untied. Use a Palomar or a uni. The improved clinch is seriously outdated. Add a fluorocarbon leader and you'll cast farther because of how dense fluorocarbon is, You'll also catch more fish, and larger fish that have been around long enough to be shy of fishing line, because light test fluorocarbon is completely invisible in the water.
Yeah it's just a habit to tie the improved clinch. I can tie it fast. But I agree, palomar knot is one of the best. I use palomar when I'm bass fishing. I should start using it for trout too. And yes, fluorocarbon is the best in my opinion. Expensive as heck, but it's good stuff.
I spent a little time in Keyser W. Va. as a kid. My dad worked for a radion station in Oakhill, W Va. WKYR. He was a broadcast engineer and morning DJ. On the air he was known as Uncle Lukie Stumpwater, lol.
I spent few years to figure out this great setup then I saw your video. still want to thank you for sharing. BTW, it isn't a good idea to have small bass into aquarium. I did and eventually put it back to wild life
Thanks man! Good luck man! They can be hard to catch, but sometimes you can find them in the streams and rivers connected to the Great Lakes, if there's any in your area.

Keep up, dude! I love your channel. It’s so much fun to watch you fishing. Better yet, learn a great deal from you about fishing. Much better than John B and AP bassing. They are flashy but really not instructive. It’s a matter of time for your subscription to reach their level!
It will still work in fast water, you may need to add some more weight. You can add some split shot. I would rig it like I did in this video with a barrel swivel and split shot for fast water. Thanks for watching!

Wathcing your videos has greatly inspired me on starting this channel of my own! I love your videos!
Happy to hear that! Thank you! Good luck!
Finally found a UA-camr catches creek chubs
Brookies love that orange trout magnet. Can't wait to chase some trout. Had a youngin send me a pen reel gonna try and catch a trout on it.
I bet! I did some trout fishing today. Did pretty well! Vid will be out soon. That's cool. Good luck!
Wish I could go to spots like this
I spent a little time in Keyser W. Va. as a kid. My dad worked for a radion station in Oakhill, W Va. WKYR. He was a broadcast engineer and morning DJ. On the air he was known as Uncle Lukie Stumpwater, lol.
i live about 20 minutes from keyser! small world lol
I live about 30 mins from keyser in Maryland
I have to say I use trout magnets in my local creek and catch anything from shiners and chubs up to bass.
They catch em all :)
Simple pleasures. You make me smile dude.
:)
I spent few years to figure out this great setup then I saw your video. still want to thank you for sharing. BTW, it isn't a good idea to have small bass into aquarium. I did and eventually put it back to wild life
Great video! Love the trout/crappie magnet products. Please remember to carefully place fish back in the water, they're fragile. :)
Thanks!
We caught fish with almost every cast using 1/16 head and white crayfish soft plastic lure. They were all small but it was active!
Can't beat that! I have fun no matter what size the fish are :)
@@FishHawk that's what she said!
Those CREEK CHUBS were actually fallfish best cutbait/big live bait there is for catfish
Are they eatable
I am new to this guys page but I’m loving it
Thanks! :)
Nice - caught my biggest steelhead ever earlier this year at 31 inches on a pink trout magnet. They work!
Wow, that is awesome! I've never caught a steelhead. It's on my to-do list!
Thanks man! Good luck man! They can be hard to catch, but sometimes you can find them in the streams and rivers connected to the Great Lakes, if there's any in your area.
I'm down in West Virginia. We don't have any steelhead around. I plan on traveling up to the great lakes to try catching some!
Ah gotcha! Worth a shot usually in April off of one of the main tributaries. Best of luck
Love your videos we have Creeks like that here in Oklahoma also Unfortunately they are on the other side of the state from me but I do enjoy fishing those kind of creeks fun fun days your videos make me jealous I don't get to spend enough days out there
Thanks! Hope you get to go more often.
good info there i have never caught a fish on that lure but i dont think i have been using it right. gonna try tomorrow. what time of day do you prefer?
you use mono or fluoro with trout magnets? I would guess fluoro since you're bottom fishing.
Either works. Fluoro is better in my opinion.
You inspired me to go outside to go fishing. Thank you
Keep up the great videos, LOVEem!!! All your vids are just enjoyable to watch.
Thanks! I appreciate it!
Keep up, dude! I love your channel. It’s so much fun to watch you fishing. Better yet, learn a great deal from you about fishing. Much better than John B and AP bassing. They are flashy but really not instructive. It’s a matter of time for your subscription to reach their level!
Thanks! I really appreciate that. I hope I can be as successful as them some day.
Thanks so much for the tips!! This was very informative!
What size hook do you use?
It’s basically a nymph imitation that’s why it works.
Thx for the tips. How well will the trout magnet work in fast water? And how would you rig it? Turns out I've got some to use. Great videos!!!
It will still work in fast water, you may need to add some more weight. You can add some split shot. I would rig it like I did in this video with a barrel swivel and split shot for fast water. Thanks for watching!
You have that Bob Ross voice for fishing. Good video. "see ya buddy"
thank you sir :)
Man, Id like to go fishin with you next time, all those fish will stock my pond well.
Awesome buddy! Great job 13K subscribers!!!🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉
Thanks buddy!
Your welcome buddy!
Great information and sweet presentation. Thanks for your time my man.
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Looks like I may have answered my own question. Found your "how to" on trout magnets. (grin)
I use the trout magnet a lot, great way to fish. Awesome video dude,
Thanks man!
Such a beautifull river, full a all kind of fish
next time you fish lake erie you should try those fish chubbs your catching today for bait nice fishing a lot of hits
Tie one on and leave a long tag end,say six to ten inches. Tie on a second one. It works.
Very enjoyable video dude Creek Fish sure are pretty
+Fish Hawk Well kept secret but if you use those trout magnet hooks or (gold salmon egg hooks) and wacky style rig a Berkely 3" floating worm you will be shocked the size fish that bite it. Nice video man!
I will have to look into that! Thanks for the tip! :)
I'll have to try this.
