@Fish Hawk : MTB, except instead of trout box, get the walleye box and try to catch trout on every lure. I have got some good looking lures for trout in the walleye box. Or maybe try a different box for the challenge but not the trout box.
most times when i go trout fishing i also engage in dispersed camping. Its been unequaled in Peace and Serenity...and catch'n !! Maybe thatll give you and avenue to explore...
I peruse through many fishing channels and have subscribed to a couple, just stumbled onto yours, and I can tell I like your angle. Respectful to the nature you find yourself in, respectful to the fish, informative on your areas, tactics and equipment and most importantly, you show moments of imperfection and vulnerability such as thinking when you have a snag, or when you actually lose a fish, or even when one won't take the bait. Genuine channel, I like it.
Maybe it's cause I'm fairly new to fishing, or maybe I go wrong times, but I rarely catch stuff, like once ever three times I go out and i stay out for hours
He made fishing look so easy. I go to the Snake River here in Idaho where I know for a fact that this river is loaded with thousands of trout, and I go just as excited as he is. And then I go home very sad and upset cuz I spent 6 hours and only caught logs or lost my lures XD.
Great looking stream. I've caught many hundreds of rainbows and browns. Favorite lures: Mepps Aglia Red and White blade, sizes 1-3, plain treble. Brown Trout LOVE white Mepps spinners. BIG BROWNS. Another great lure is tiny Eppinger Daredevles: Skeeters and Lil Devles Chartreuse and Fluorescent Red and Orange. I mainly fish upstream but sometimes you have to fish downstream to get to fish.
Fish Hawk where is this at? I live in WV in Pocahontas county and trout fish every weekend. But thinking about exploring new waters. Since I’ve been hitting the same 8 rivers for 21 years lol
I like how you made that long cast across the fast current into the slow, early on in the video! There's something about a retrieve, when the spinner gets cross current from you. At that point, the spoon action really flutters like a fly, and the trout just slam it!! Tight lines y'all!
Loved your catch. High success rate. I'd say, trouts are the real Gold Diggers. This golden spinner works all the time, even in barely adequate lighting as yours. The hooks you used are brutal. They aren't good if you intend to release. They cause the most damage. Great video!
Why ,oh why I often wonder does man think he's got the right to drag such a beautiful creature out of its god given environment and have the audacity to call it sport . 'I rest my case '
Here in Canada, there is a daily limit of 5 trout with fines of $100.00 per trout that's over the limit, that stops most people from overfishing. Only Aboriginals are allowed to catch whatever amount they want, even with nets, bullshit racist native rights. Good luck fishing.
Really depends on the situation. Pennsylvania sticks an absolute ridiculous amount of trout through many streams throughout the state. They expect people to keep them. Gatlinburg Tennessee has their own fish hatchery and they stock a couple thousand pounds of trout weekly through their streams. If it's a small mountain stream full of native browns or something special like that definitely should release them back
Great vid! You always do a great job explaining your rig as well as explaining your thinking behind cast placement. Maybe you can start an educational series. I dunno what it would be, but you are already really informative and helpful to watch
Just stumbled upon this channel. Love the channel, and love your respect for the fish and nature. I am actually in medical school here in WV and came from Missouri in an area that is strictly bass/catfishing, and me and my buddy are trying to get into trout fishing here in WV. Done plenty of research and stocked up on necessary gear, but we are having difficulties locating good spots to fish near the Greenbrier area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Great video! Wonderful WILD brown. He was really colored well and had all the makings of a wild fish. Shame you didn't get that palomino, but cool to see him chase. Nice trip and look forward to the next one!
It was super cool to see that goldie follow your spinner in. That showed up really nice on the gopro. Makes you wonder how often a regular trout does that and you just cant see him
Go snorkling down the river while fishing. Get some great U/W bite shots. I shot some raging rivers up in the Northwest Territories. What a blast but most of the fish scattered when they saw me.
Thank you! I've only fished Smoke Hole one time. I have never fished north fork. And I have kayak fished south branch probably 10+ times. Mostly for smallmouth bass.
I have fished that river and section so many times. North branch of the Potomac but I lose so many lures on that stretch that I have no idea why. I primarily use joes flies and especially black Woolley worm and spitfire. Always nice trout in that stretch and several MD state records have been caught there
I love how every time you cast out you snag a fish. If only it were that easy. - then again, I do stink at fishing. 😃 heh I still love it. Thanks for the fun video.
I live in west virginia love to trout fish only thing I use Jerry 's flies made here in Bridgeport, West Virginia I also had him make me a spinner with a single hook put a tiny grub on the back a lot smaller than the one made by Mepps
God told "throw your net into water n u will find fishes n catch them!"May God direct all the fishermen n women who plan, hardwork, catch skillfully , clean n market the fishes be a blessing to feed people around!!....
Great videos, fishing trout in a river with a spinning rod is awesome. Try putting a live worm on your rig, I find it attracts bigger trout. I found something similar to what you were using, it works great, caught a 14.5 inch brook trout with it, thanks for the tips. Keep up the good work bud.
If you go to a lake were its hard to catch trout take cans of corn for a few days and throw the whole can of corn where you are wanting to catch them do that for about 3 or 4 days then wait for a couple of days before you go back the trout will be use to eating corn and you can catch trout.
I love your videos so much bro! You're honestly my number one favorite UA-camr right now! I really like it when you catch brook trout since I've only caught rainbows in Missouri. I might fish Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas soon, I've heard there's 30+ inch brown trout in that lake!
You're welcome, any time! I really hope your channel blows up even more and you're as big as the googans one day! I don't even have any footage yet, just a channel preview. GoPro coming soon.
Give me your BEST ideas for a UA-cam video! I WILL be picking 1 idea for a vid 😎 Let’s see what ya got 😏
Fish Hawk I have a question is that a 2 piece rod
Get a mystery tackle box and catch a fish with all the lures in it! Use code TRYMTB5 at checkout to get your box for $5.30
no, it's 1 piece.
@Fish Hawk : MTB, except instead of trout box, get the walleye box and try to catch trout on every lure. I have got some good looking lures for trout in the walleye box. Or maybe try a different box for the challenge but not the trout box.

Who else enjoys those sweet underwater releases??
Definately !
I like as well
Yeah man thats sick!
Heck fricken yup
I’d rather cook it and eat it 😋😋
Love the underwater camera shots of the release.

Thanks, that means a lot. I truly appreciate the kind words.
i agree with every single cell of my body
M m m@@coolewlegamer
I love those "Joe's Flies!" I stopped using Rooster tails after I discovered them.
I like the fact that you seem to be the only angler around there. Here in So Cal, it's pretty much shoulder to shoulder fishing.
I only saw 2 other fishermen this day. I guess I'm a little spoiled lol
California now the stocked zoo ! Plants if they will use the money , they have deverted the license funds to the state general fund to piss away !!
Dream place where to fish. I wish I have a river like that nearby. Good luck to you and keep hammering. 👍
I think it's great when you show the rod and reel action when catching the fish
For me, when you forget the number of fish caught, tells how good a time you had.
Maybe it's cause I'm fairly new to fishing, or maybe I go wrong times, but I rarely catch stuff, like once ever three times I go out and i stay out for hours
oABCs YT keep grinding💪🏽
@@oABCs use spinners and put them in a hole ez dubs
Tells me the guy is mathematically challenged. Can't count to six?
I never forget how many fish I catch... 0 is a hard number to forget 🤣🤣
another great trout video I love the underwater footage.. beautiful fish
Thanks man!
Beautiful video and river🙂
Love the place and the action with the trouts.🐟
The nature around is amazing.
I enjoy when you include your Dad on your fishing trips.
He made fishing look so easy. I go to the Snake River here in Idaho where I know for a fact that this river is loaded with thousands of trout, and I go just as excited as he is. And then I go home very sad and upset cuz I spent 6 hours and only caught logs or lost my lures XD.

Excellent video! Thank you.
Country road take me home...
Living the dream man. WV looks beautiful. Are you gonna ever do a catch and cook vlog? Any fly fishing in your future?
It's gorgeous! I hope to do some catch and cook. Not sure about fly fishing. I will eventually though :)
@@FishHawk nice!
Fish Hawk where is this at? I live in WV in Pocahontas county and trout fish every weekend. But thinking about exploring new waters. Since I’ve been hitting the same 8 rivers for 21 years lol
Excelente esa pesca!! Ultralight es lo mejor!! The best
Thanks for great examples of taking care of the fish
I like how you made that long cast across the fast current into the slow, early on in the video! There's something about a retrieve, when the spinner gets cross current from you. At that point, the spoon action really flutters like a fly, and the trout just slam it!! Tight lines y'all!

Great video!
Definitely try out some jigs when you’re fishing for trout next time. I’ve caught most of my big trout on keitech and Bobby garland soft plastics
For me live worms are the true killers
Golden Trout 4/Fish Hawk 0. That was a nice brownie though!
Yessss! You remembered! I actually thought of you when I didn't catch that trout. I was hoping you would watch and comment lol
Why ,oh why I often wonder does man think he's got the right to drag such a beautiful creature out of its god given environment and have the audacity to call it sport . 'I rest my case '
It’s good to see people who catch and release. These guys with stringers full of trout don’t help the fishing for the next guy.
Here in Canada, there is a daily limit of 5 trout with fines of $100.00 per trout that's over the limit, that stops most people from overfishing. Only Aboriginals are allowed to catch whatever amount they want, even with nets, bullshit racist native rights. Good luck fishing.
Eating trout is good for you
I’m not really a fish eater, I just catch and release
Really depends on the situation. Pennsylvania sticks an absolute ridiculous amount of trout through many streams throughout the state. They expect people to keep them. Gatlinburg Tennessee has their own fish hatchery and they stock a couple thousand pounds of trout weekly through their streams. If it's a small mountain stream full of native browns or something special like that definitely should release them back
Some people eat their catch
Fun fishing, good fishing!! I always cast out in front of me and then let it swing in the current. Fish hit my fly at the end of my swing😄😎
great idea about getting the stuck lure back!
Great vid! You always do a great job explaining your rig as well as explaining your thinking behind cast placement. Maybe you can start an educational series. I dunno what it would be, but you are already really informative and helpful to watch
Thanks! I have been thinking about making some instructional vids. Hopefully I can in the near future. I appreciate the support.

Thanks man! Yeah, he was beautiful for sure. I know, that would have been cool to land it, but I enjoyed seeing it chase. Best of luck to you!
Perfect spot
just got back from trout fishing today, caught my pb rainbow. Then see a Fish Hawk video up, been a great day
That's awesome! Congrats on the PB! and thanks for watching!
Beautiful water. Thanks for the share
Thanks for the view :)
My go to is a gold and black panther Martin spinner and sometimes they work great and sometimes they don’t but I’ve had the best luck with them
Philly area accent reminds me of home. Great videos, beautiful rivers. Thanks!
Love the content as always! Would love to see you pick up the fly rod!
Man I wish I had a nice clean river like that... Every river and creek I fish has logs and brush piles every where...
Beautiful fish! What another great day on the water!! Awesome!
Heading out for trout tomorrow morning. I'll catch one for you, Daddy Hawk.
hahaha good luck man!
Daddy hawk🤣🤣
I really like seeing the nice gentle releases!
It was super cool to see that goldie follow your spinner in. That showed up really nice on the gopro. Makes you wonder how often a regular trout does that and you just cant see him
I enjoyed seeing it even though I couldn't hook it. I agree, probably more than we want to know.
Soothes my soul. Thanks!
Happy to hear it man!
You are a master at work
Thank you for the tips
Anytime. Thanks for watching!
Looks like a fun river to fish!
Reminds me of my childhood living in Atlanta fishing on the Chattahoochee river.
That's a beautiful river ,best fishing right in town.
Have caught a bunch of trout on spinners in the Hooch
Loving this river AND these trout!
Go snorkling down the river while fishing. Get some great U/W bite shots. I shot some raging rivers up in the Northwest Territories. What a blast but most of the fish scattered when they saw me.
Great job on the release, nice fishing guys!
Hi Hawk...Great video..Love the views...North Fork..South Branch....Smoke Hole....is my favorite.....
Thank you! I've only fished Smoke Hole one time. I have never fished north fork. And I have kayak fished south branch probably 10+ times. Mostly for smallmouth bass.

When you said little rainbow I died inside thats about as big as I can get in these tiny streams but still loads and loads of fun
Ditch the treble hooks. OK if you are keeping fish but really hard on the smaller fish you are catching and releasing.
A lot of places treble hooks are ilegal, in british columbia canada all rivers allow only single barb less hooks ,also Washington state
I love how every time you cast out you snag a fish. If only it were that easy. - then again, I do stink at fishing. 😃 heh I still love it. Thanks for the fun video.
it's not like that, but my video can't be 4 hours long. So I mostly only put the catches in the video. Thanks for watching!
Fish Hawk yeah I figured that was the case. Have fun out there!
Wow!!! That big brown looked amazing during the fight!! So much flash while fighting
It was so much fun! Definitely my favorite catch of the day!
beautiful brown! and beautiful spot reminds me alot of the Catskills In NY where I come from
Great video, I like the underwater photography!
This is perfect a bit of raw footage not to much but just a perfect vid! Keep up the good work!
Awesome, happy to hear that! Thank you very much! :)
My dawg Fish Hawk getting it in. Going for my first day of trout fishing today wish me luck!
Man that’s beautiful river and nice trout
I live in west virginia love to trout fish only thing I use Jerry 's flies made here in Bridgeport, West Virginia I also had him make me a spinner with a single hook put a tiny grub on the back a lot smaller than the one made by Mepps
I'm gonna say native brown, cause that piece of water was beautiful as the brownie;) Thanks for sharing
so beautiful! Thanks for watching!
Oh really nice👀👍🏼🎣 i like spinner to👍🏼🎣 Greetings from Germany🇩🇪✌🏻️
Just went trout fishing at the beach it was my first time fishing for trout and we ended with about 10, nice video
Great camera work thank you
I have caught 3 trout in my life so far
Well P and J I caught and released my first 25lb Rainbow trout afew years ago on Kootenay Lake in BC 🇨🇦
Did you weigh it at the river lmao you lier
I've only caught one and it was on a charter so I don't think it really counts.
I've caught a few trout only 2 i can think of were keepers . They taste good 👍
God told "throw your net into water n u will find fishes n catch them!"May God direct all the fishermen n women who plan, hardwork, catch skillfully , clean n market the fishes be a blessing to feed people around!!....
That was a sweet brown trout. Nice video as always 👌.
Thanks buddy!
Great video, really nice trout that you’ve been catching.
Thanks man!
Nice brown! Nice pointed fins looked like a wild fish!
Thank you! :)
Love tuning in! Excellent video my guy.
Thanks for tuning in buddy!
That brown trout was wild
Love your videos. Would love to fish like you.!

Nice video! Starting to get into the trout scene myself. Such a fun game.
Awesome spinners buddy! Some pretty trout!
Thanks buddy!
Your welcome buddy!
You're the king of spinner fishing man.
Love the release footage
Sweet! Thanks for watching
Great video as always man! Keep it up!
Thanks man!

Joes Flies are the best

Going fishing for brown trout later today maybe. Much needed after sitting in front of the computer for school all day.
Good luck!
Cool how you got footage of the fish swimming away

Lines tight, fight right 👍💪
I love your videos so much bro! You're honestly my number one favorite UA-camr right now! I really like it when you catch brook trout since I've only caught rainbows in Missouri. I might fish Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas soon, I've heard there's 30+ inch brown trout in that lake!
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I will be doing more brook trout fishing in the future. Sounds awesome, good luck! Hope you catch a BIG ON!
You're welcome, any time! I really hope your channel blows up even more and you're as big as the googans one day! I don't even have any footage yet, just a channel preview. GoPro coming soon.
I have a similar setup but I usually use light braid with a 4lb fluoro bumper
I can always tell a brown trout by the super angry fight! I’m really jealous because I’m in San Diego and we don’t have that beautiful greenery!!!
Joes flies is top notch
Great footage! And perfection with the spinner
I came from Kayseri with love and greetings and I will wait for you.
I suggest using single barbless hooks since your releasing the fish
Thanks and greetings from Kayseri
Mais uma pesca maravilhosa parabéns meu Amigo
gracias amigo
The rod your using's got a sweet action
The last bow was actually a rainbow and brook trout mix cool catch
