Good points with the float. And for the haters, you use what works for you. I watch fishing videos for entertainment and education/ideas for how to improve my experience fishing not to criticize.
You shared the secret!! 😛 the green/black has been my secret weapon for years. I’ve caught so many giants on this presentation. Super clutch pattern . Cheers bub!
Awesome video! I have been using their panfish magnets on a Shakespeare micro ultralight with a 500 reel and 4# test. The bluegill in the creek closest to me are finicky lol. About the only things I have found that they like besides live red worms are the panfish magnets and Berkeley Gulp earthworms. I have pulled bluegill, redbreast, warmouth, rock bass and even a couple of small largemouth on those magnets. I have pretty much all budget level equipment on my ultralight and bass rod set ups, and am now looking to start upgrading my equipment. I have been really been enjoying ultralight and am looking to upgrade my ultralight setup first before my bass setups. I think I’m going to drop down to 2# test when I do.
When you reel up with floro stick the spool and the spooled up line in hot water let water cool off remove and the memory is reset to your spool and it works great.
I love to fly fish, but there are days when I just want to go fishing and keep it simple. I pretty much exclusively use trout magnets when spin fishing for trout. They are also great for prospecting a new stream. Here's a tip: you can tie wet flies and nymphs on the jig heads.
New Sub here! Is there anyway possible you can make a video of your fishing backpack setup? I am a new bank fishermen and it looks like you have a great setup with everything in hands reach!
Picked up a little pack at wal mart for about $1.50 :) Came with two of the jig heads and like 7 of the jigs that come with them. I went with gold jig heads and chartreuse jig combo but they had different options. Haven't used em yet but I'm most likely gonna try them to pan fish til they stock the local lake with more trout. :) God bless you all and happy fishing!!!
Thank you for your great broad cast! I'm in upstate NY I can't seem to find what size they need to be to keep. Are yours pink meat or stream white meat? Also what size hook are you using? I'm pretty new self taught with the help of you guys but never caught trout! I caught bass, Rick bass, grappie, blue gill and I wish I could get a boat glass lake has amazing size pumpkin seed that are huge and sweet from what I hear!
Been fishing since b4 i can remember stopped around 12 to 18 had nobody to go with was heading down the wrong path living in the fast lane , randomly on a road trip from PA to NJ crossing the Tulpehochan creek in berks county PA i mentioned man i miss fishing i think it starts tomorrow and unks out of nowhere said u got money let's go to walmart on the way home n gear up and go out tomorrow. Props to trout magnet and the sexy ass S.O.S 2lb line started using the brown one right away. Now i tie lil bodies and maribou or bucktails on the heads i catch 50 more fish than the rubber
You have to kind of find the sweet spot. If it’s too much line you you’ll get snagged all the time. The good thing about those floats is they are easily adjusted. I like to keep mine near bottom
Fluorocarbon (in my opinion) is far superior due to its lack of visibility. However, it is hard to mend due to the fact it absorbs water. Using a hybrid line such as a Fluorocarbon coated mono...any perceived benefits are imagined. I do take extra steps to keep my line managed on a spinning reel. I recently did a video on spooling a spinning reel with Fluorocarbon. I cinch it down several times through the spooling process. I also use Blakemore Reel Magic. To me, using Fluorocarbon on a spinning reel might take a little extra care, but it's well worth it.
@@jackramos7123 Not at all. It would be hard to be more wrong. Those comparisons you're talking about - 1) aren't scientific and 2) are rigged. I've seen them. Do you know what they're actually using? They're using Fluorocarbon coated mono...do you know what this does? This actually creates a fiber optic effect under the water, making it more viable. Don't believe "tests" that have something to gain by the "result".
@@jackramos7123You are right. Flouro is only slightly more abrasion resistant than mono, not invisible, and wants to balloon off the spool (even with proper spooling technique) way more than mono. Flouro is a pain in the ass on ultralight spinning reels. Mono only for me.
Once the water warms up more and fish are more active I’ll use spoons, spinners, crankbaits with a spin rod. I generally don’t fish for them in the summer as the water temps get to high.
What’s wrong with using the trout magnet floats? I use them for everything including the Berkeley Trout Worms. Lighter so a more delicate presentation on smaller streams. If there’s room, I like a longer rod. Been using a 9’ Fenwick steelhead rod for some years now rated for 2-6 lb line. A Shimano CI4+ 1000 series with 4 lb P-Clear line and a flurocarbon leader. It’s a deadly rig in Western Pennsylvania.
@@mainetroutwhisperer Do they come in smaller sizes? I don’t think I need anything quite that large. Where’s the best source? Looks like you mostly drift downstream. How about casting upstream, then let it drift to you and then let it go downstream? Some pools I can get 100’ although it can get tedious if water flow is down as it is now around here. I will sometimes tip the jig with a wax worm especially in lakes. Looks like Maine puts in some damn nice brookies! Count your blessings. I get mostly rainbows and some browns from PA Fish & Boat. Private clubs put some brooks in but nothing close to that!
no it doesn't really do anything, the trout magnets action is what provokes the bite, trout are predatory fish i use 4lb test with nothing but the trout magnet then I jig my pole up and down, you know your doing it right when your line makes a nice even wave at that point im just looking for the line to go straight to set the hook because as soon as you feel the hit its to late sometimes and they spit the hook

I’m new to trout magnets and after watching your video I’ll give it a try. Thanks!! Good information.
Hahaha, you guys who don’t like my float can k- my @$s, best internet comment today, tight lines!
Those weighted floats are great! Those floats and trout magnets are my go to for panfish
The weighted foam bobbers really do work great!
Best how to trout magnet video I've seen yet!

How long do you leave it in the water for

I really enjoyed your trout magnet video. I plan to do more trout fishing since I saw your video. Thanks for the tips!
Awesome video, I have a bunch of these in my tackle box and have never really tried using them.
Bobbers you can fill w water work to.
Excellent! So much simpler than the company’s how to vids. Prettier fish, too!

Awesome video! I like to use 6 poind J-Braid Grand on all my ultralights. Super smooth and sensitive.
Best setup is spooled with braid then top shot of mono or just add a 10' leader to the braid. Saves you from changing your line out every year.
Thanks for a great video with easy to follow tips that really work well!

Been slaying em on the crappie magnet through the ice, 5 species this year on it.

Look up regulations
Good luck with this. Love the new name and logo.

Great video man. Great stuff. Let’s go
🎣 When will the ice show up?
When using a float, are you leaving enough line to allow the magnet to skip bottom, or should it be more in middle of the water column?
You have to kind of find the sweet spot. If it’s too much line you you’ll get snagged all the time. The good thing about those floats is they are easily adjusted. I like to keep mine near bottom
I never had much luck with them...but I may have given up on them too quickly
They make mini magmets too. Super tiny.
Is this the Madison River?
Thanks, bud. Very informative.
Have you had any luck jigging them ice fishing?
What sort of knot are you using to direct tie to the trout magnet? I’ve heard certain knots keep it from doing its “natural movement”
Clinch knot usually but you can use the loop or streamer loop knot so it moves more freely
Currently waiting on a set coming. The River Bann won't know what hit it. Hopefully 🤣
Help?? When I fish it with out the bobber it gets covered with algae or weed.very annoying!! Help??
Great video! Is that the Saco?
Did not notice you using a leeder on this trout magnet ( setup, rig, & fish ) video. Yes or No ?
I did not, but you can!
Thanks. Great fishing.
Great video! I’m out in CA and looking for a new rod and the JT pan handler looks awesome. Is it a two piece rod?
It’s a 1pc. It’s awesome. You wouldn’t regret it. I love my 7ft. I wish they made an 8’

Flourocarbon isn't actually invisible. Watch some mono vs flouro comparisons on youtube, it's a bit of a scam.

So spring and fall what are you using late spring though the summer?
Once the water warms up more and fish are more active I’ll use spoons, spinners, crankbaits with a spin rod. I generally don’t fish for them in the summer as the water temps get to high.
Red trout magnets work better in the fall. North or Southern US.
I have JT rod excellent rod great for everything
Was that a black crappie at 8:05? Caught on same lure??
Smallmouth

Does Bass Pro Shop have the floaters and the worms?
If I'm using an ultra light rod and reel spooled with 2lb test mono do I need a leader?
Nope. Unless you want one lol
I know you don't need it, but do you ever add scent to the Trout Magnet? If so, does it increase the bite ratio?
Never tried it

What type was the trout you caught at 7:30?
Brook trout
Cool vid, I like them but have some of worst hooks, super cheap
Please always tell names of pole.
I did. And it’s linked in the description
As always great educational video . thanks for the tips
We catch Crappie with the bobber set up
hmm i can cast a trout magnet with my daiwa BFS reel
Do browns go after these?
They do
Fish tacos 🌮 bro...😊
Nice video. Thx
Hell ya! Good haul

Very informative video but don't that type of float nick or kink your line
Nice
These are a 1/64 oz so doubt you can cast it.
You definitely can with the right or correct setup. This is ultralight fishing. It's what whole video is about.
You “doubt you can cast 1/64th”? I’m pretty sure he was casting them the whole damn video. 😂
Croppie, not crappy.
crappie is pronounced 'craw-pee' not crappy
