    It's so true what you say Leah, about stopping and just being thankful for our blessings. Thankyou for your wisdom :) I also loved 'Find the chaos peaceful'...I read something similar to that this morning, so I must be meant to pay attention !!. Blessings to you ~ :) Linda

    So much hard work ahead but what a blessing it will be…and to have the family working together to accomplish, the biggest blessing!!!

    I really enjoy your videos. They are about living each day and the blessings in your life. Life isn't always easy, but amazing in the simplest of things. I am slowly adding simple things to our life. I am older than you (62) but trying to find a little piece of land for me and my daughter to have a little homestead. You inspire me and encourage me without even knowing it, so thanks for all you do.

    Hello, I'm from Brazil and RJ is my favorite. The unity of your family, it's incredible. How is the relationship with the daughters-in-law going? Do you already have grandchildren? Stay with God.

    Hello Leah! I’m so excited to see the progress on the cabin. 🥰 I remember the video of your oldest son turning 28 and someone making the comment about him still living at home. This whole idea of adult children living at home and it being a negative thing is very American. Of course, it can be a bad thing if the child is taking advantage but in other countries the family unit will stay together. We have a friend that is from Romania and still lives at home. His parents are older and he helps them tremendously. I think he would like to be married but for now he contributes to his family. I wonder if this idea of leaving home when you’re not 18 and not financially ready contributes to the debt life style.
    Can ask your opinion…my husband and I live in a small 1200 sq ft home on five acres with our five children. We have talked about finishing a shed for an Airbnb to have another income stream (I do not “work”) but I also think we should focus our resources on paying our mortgage off early. What do you think?

      Everyone likes to see building projects! Lets see how this one goes. It will be a lesson many need to see.

      Hi Brooke, I really can only give my 2 cents putting in my thoughts if it were us with that question as everyone is in a different situation. I would look first what I still owe on my home compared to what finishing the shed would cost. Assuming the shed would be done without loans/credit I would determine if the amount would be better spent applying directly towards the mortgage. If that remains uncertain I would then consider how long it would take me to make back what I spent on the shed conversion and then go back to looking again at paying it directly to the mortgage. If at that point I still thought doing an airbnb was a good idea I would consider if and how it would effect my property insurance, would the additional income put us into a different tax bracket....speaking from experience this can cost more than you make and it does take some research to see each tax bracket and how it would effect the end result and of course you can only base that on an estimated earnings potential...could be more or could be less. Then finally but most importantly I would consider all the possible effects it could have on my family and our environment. Theses strangers may not be in your home but they would be on your property. It has potential to be a good experience but it also has the potential to be a bad experience. I know that without saying that all these things are considered under prayer. Last thought here as a homemaker, if you are still able to meet your bills without this, would adding this cause a lot of chaos for your family, sometimes that isn't worth the gain. God's richest blessings to you my friend!

      Those are good points, some we have thought of and some we have not, like the tax bracket. Thank you Leah! 🧡

    Hope you guys are doing well. Preferring shingles to metal roofing is not a popular opinion on the internet. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts why. Metal roofing seems the be the craze, especially on cabins.

    Can you use the coffee grinder to grind wheat berries?

    • @6240tv
      @6240tv 8 місяців тому +2

      yes but the wheat berries will be coarser than traditional ground only small amount at time perhaps rerun thru grinder to get finer . I dont know if this helps but i ground up oatmeal to make soap( to put in home made soap ) in a hand crank coffee grinder with ceramic stones and it was liken to me coarse salt seemed like took forever to do as well . this for me was a bust trying to use oatmeal in soap making as the soap was chunky ( i took small slivers soap tried to remelt to reuse )

    • @ArtisanAcre
      @ArtisanAcre  8 місяців тому +1

      Beverlylevenhangen454 6240tv is correct it would be a very course grind in this coffee grinder and if youhad nothing else then it would but it would not be very palatable...however this company did make multiple purpose grinder called a gristmill in which coffee can be ground but not the other way around. This is sad as this size throw from the circumference of the flywheel would make it a breeze.

      Many of our other videos speak of our online business that we have had since 2012, the raw materials for this business was one reason we had to move north, which is also discussed in other videos. Ron has also gotten jobs off our property when business was down. Like everyone else, we have to have some source of work to pay the bills, fact of life.
