🏡 💗Love the story and the house! I was feeling bittersweet for you over this beautiful house, but I absolutely love your home in the UP and it’s coziness. So good to hear you are all doing well, and I know we have all missed your videos! Blessings to you and your family sweet friend.💕
I remember feather pillows and mattress. They were lumpy in such a soft silky way. No inconvenience at all. Layers of thick blankets with quilting tassels all over them. I slept good at grandma's.
I enjoyed listening to you read this story. It reminded me of the Little House series. One of the books mentioned making a balloon out of pig's bladder.
I am amazed at Ron’s skilled craftsmanship! Your home is truly lovely. The buyers will be incredibly blessed to live in such a thoughtfully Updated home. You can tell there is such a high level of quality and care with the remodeling you did. I am really blown away! You have staged the home so beautifully, too. Just really well done all around. :) what a treat for us to get to see it. Thank you so much for sharing with us! Love, Allison ❤
The one passage at 8:12 reminded me of the song "Grandma's Feather Bed" by John Denver - It was nine feet high and six feet wide And soft as a downy chick It was made from the feathers of forty 'leven geese Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick It could hold eight kids and four hound dogs And a piggy we stole from the shed We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun On grandma's feather bed
Oh my goodness Lea, I am so glad that you are back doing your wonderful readings. You are such a good story teller and such interesting articles from the early days that you read, I just love listening to them ❤️
Thank you so much, your complement means a lot. Before I met my husband I had no ability at all to decorate. My mother was not creative nor a home maker and didn't desire to be so she had nothing to teach me creating an inviting home. Ron's mother had a gift to see something out of nothing and to use it in her home. She really had a gift and taught me (as it wasn't natural for me) to have a vision when I would look at something. His mother taught me a lot with her grace and actions but I think I value her ability to be creative the most. It is a gift I do not feel I otherwise would have and that she had it and was willing to take time to teach it has blessed my family. God's richest blessings to you and your precious family!
It’s better than cute, elegant, and lovely. 🥰 - Do you have any tips and tricks to help with bad coughs? All our kids are sick. We’re doing lemon/honey tea and hula do cough syrup. And just started silver.
If it were my kids, I would be giving a TB of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (3x a day), I would certainly be doing the lemon honey tea. If any of your kids are old enough and would drink a cup of it with 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in the lemon honey tea I would put it in....but only if they willing drink it and I would just have them sip on it cause if cayenne pepper isn't something they take normally it could upset their stomach. Peppermint tea is always soothing. Sometimes these coughs can just be exhausting enough that you need to bypass the herbs and use tussin....plain tussin and the only ingredient in it will be "Guaifenesin". There are a lot of "tussins" like Tussin DM and many others but they all have lots of different things in them I try to avoid. My guys were all sick about 10 week ago and it last for like 3 weeks. Fevers and cough and the cough would not relent, to the point it would wake them up at night. So when nothing seemed to help them sleep I got the plain tussin (I wait to use it till I know nothing else will work) and put them on it, it really was a blessing, it didn't cure the cough but it let them rest. I also gave them organic cough drops during the day. Hope that helps!
Personally, I loved your house the way it was... I mean, it looked and felt like an off grid home. Now, it looks modern, and very plain...nice, but plain. I loved it the way it was, but that's just me. I do want to copy your ideas on having the old hutches, instead of cabinets, I think that was so cool.
thanks for sharing these readings with us. i moved far away from family and miss hearing stories like these from older kin. also your house looks real nice. can you share more/show more about that table that i think is a baking table? it has drawers and real deep bins underneath? my aunt always talked about that, but by the time i came around it wasn't there (my mom was the youngest of ten so most things were changing and her sibling's kids were her age etc). i would love to find or build one one of these days even though my dough is usually for pasta or bread rather than dessert baking. i have baking lovers here still
Lea, I was so glad to see that you've posted more videos! I'm a big reader, so your readings are always such a treat to me. I hope that y'all get everything settled with the house and are all doing well. God bless you and your sweet family!
Beautiful house and story. Seeing the old pictures of the house made me tear up😌
Oh my word, that is so beautiful, like stepping back in time. I would never sell it
Thank you!

Beautiful home before and after remodel. I love how you decorate ❤ i have zero skills in that area sadly.

Loved the story and the walk through of the old place. It's beautiful. ❤
Thank you Wendy!
I was hoping you would show us the house, thank you! It’s so beautiful!!
Thank you Brooke! Considering limited time and funds to work on it, we thought it turned out pretty cute!

Something else I wanted to add, though the Guaifenesin states it is an expectorant, we have always found it works on dry coughs too.
@@ArtisanAcre thank you!

Skyler here again. I love the stories Lea. I hope you do more. This reminds me of my fifth grade teacher who would read to us daily.
Thanks Skyler! Fifth grade...I have to travel back a ways to remember that!
Be glad when you do cooking show again
