Young cracks me up, he was doing his thing in spite of the avalanche of Punk and Disco at this time. He looks comfortable as hell and did it the way he thought best. One of Canadas best exports.

Depending on who you believe he may have asked Reprise his label to delay Come a Time release date so Larsons version came out first. Ive always thought in my heart although he wrote it it became her song. Much like Van Morrison wrote Gloria but it will forever be The Shadows of Knight signature song. Just my thoughts....
Any version of this song is just fine. Nicolette Larson was a dear friend of his and sang on his records and in concert. Nobody was happier than him when she and the producer created that amazing recording. Her voice was just ridiculously good. He was neighbors with Linda Ronstandt and went over to ask her to recommend an accompanying singer and Nicolette was there. It turned out 6 people had already recommended her to him, so they jammed and worked together.
Hey folks: The hit single by the late Nicolette Larson was a cover of the Neil Young song. Nicolette was a backup singer for Neil at the time and later married his drummer, Russ Kunkel. So it was all in the family :-) Rest in Peace, beautiful Nicolette.
A genius with the expression of song and feelings. I try to write music and songs, and could not carry this man's guitar pick. A great singer, guitar player and most of all song writer.
