"Lotta Love" was written and recorded by Neil Young before Nicolette Larson's version was released as the lead single from her 1978 album 'Nicolette' 🎶

Man! What's up? I've been playing this song over and over again the last weeks, after losing track of it the last three decades; It came back in my life big time!
And now I see it uploaded everywhere and recommended to me all the time.
I guess it's gonna take a lot of love to get out of this duality thinking dominated, evil current times!
And it's gonna take a lot of love for me personally as well to watch all the sadness unfolding the coming years I feel.
      Lots of love to y'all!

Nicolette Larson died on December 16, 1997, in Los Angeles, California, as a result of complications arising from cerebral edema triggered by liver failure. She was 45 years old. According to her friend Astrid Young, Neil Young's half-sister, Larson had been showing symptoms of depression, and her fatal seizure "was in no small way related to her chronic use of Valium and Tylenol." Two benefit concerts were held in Larson's honor in February 1998. Tribute concerts were held on the 10th anniversary of her death in December 2007 and also the following year.

@@wheezvonklaw284 That is pretty much my point. The 70s and early 80s was pretty much the last generation where artists were truly artists. They wrote their own lyrics and music, they played the instruments and could sing just as well live as they did on their recordings. Nowadays they lip sync. , don’t play any instruments and do not write their own lyrics. Music has changed into something that is no longer music. Rappers use a record as their instruments and pop stars use auto tune and then have to lip sync. Even country music sucks these days. It all sounds exactly the same. There is no individuality or originality. Today it’s about selling a face instead of an artists abilities or talent.

I feel that way too! Also with the song “Only The Lonely” by The Motels. It just hits different as a grown up

I'm 63 years old now. But in 1978, I was still a young "pup" of 17 years old, while I jammed to this with friends and summer love. Oh, how I want to return to that time. Life was so simple then.
No one can sing this song like this but Nicolette Larson. Such great talent taken too soon. RIP, sweet lady. Thank you for the memories. Your music lives on!

44 years ago and still one of the best songs - wonderful melody, arrangement, lyrics, and her singing. I was so sorry when she passed away.

25 years later it's still a crushing blow after hearing that Nicolette passed away at just 45 years of age. This is one of those song that's stands out today. I remember late 1978 like yesterday. Nicolette looks so happy here (of course anyone would be if their song was a national hit)

Art Bell used to play this a lot on Coast To Coast AM. He played a lot of good music.
    Rest in peace, Mr. Bell.
