Just saying, I'm pretty sure in emerald eggs always hatch at lvl 5, but I totally understand you. I used a Wobbuffet to defeat the league in fire red (the second time) and although he was pretty underleveled, he did a pretty solid job
Wobbufet is actually one of my favourite pokemon, and I have a somewhat similar story. In pokemon crystal I bought the wobbufet at the game corner and set out for the champion, and, even though my wobbufet was a very low level, when his dragonite used safeguard, I used destiny bond, winning me the battle after he fainted me next turn. I've loved wobbufet ever since.

"Wobbuffet has no redeeming qualities whatsoever" Looks at my Art of the Trap RMT back in 2015 that got a decent bit of traction... Wobbuffet was awesome before the Shadow Tag ban.
what's funny is that wobbufet is so good, it's in Ubers, since there are almost no ghost types in ubers that can escape shadow tag. which means you can then encore their setup move, allowing you to switch in your pursuit user in and take it out. you cant do that against AI though, since they tend not to switch.
1: I actually still have a Superpower Spinda, though I haven't tried using it much. I never did try using Spinda much at all, competitively or otherwise. I do, however, have a Spinda with only two face spots, each lined up almost perfectly with an eye. I named him Goggles, and while he's weak, I love him. 2: I hate that you're right about Delibird sucking because I love the little Santa penguin. I seriously wish it was better in battle. I don't remember ever actually using one ingame. I've tried one competitively, with predictable results. I do have the event Delibird with Happy Hour, though, I've used that before to help farm money. 3: I'm actually using a Pyukumuku ingame in a playthrough of Sun that's admittedly come to a screeching halt after SwSh came out. I'll agree Pyukumuku is difficult to use, but it's interesting to try and work with regardless. I wish Z-Moves would return- Z-Purify boosts all stats, that worked beautifully with Baton Pass. Kind of a poor man's Extreme Evoboost. 4: I have used an Unown on my team when I played through VC Gold. Hidden Power Psychic, FYI. Actually pretty decent early on in the game, and while that was quick to change, you learn to pick your battles carefully with it, and it actually did pretty well in the right situations. Did really well against Bruno and Koga. Fainted a lot overall, but when it worked, it was truly satisfying. Very interesting experience. Also, for a Gen 2 Nuzlocke, don't be so quick to dismiss Unown as a Ruins of Alph encounter. Obviously it's no powerhouse, but again, you pick your battles, use it when the time is right, it could very well surprise you. 5: Wh- no! Wobbuffet is amazing! My favorite Psychic-type since Gen 2, and remains so to this day! Yeah, it's useless in raids, I'll concede that much, and you're absolutely right about the lipstick being stupid, but I will argue to the death that it is a useful Pokémon to use ingame. I bought one in Goldenrod when playing through Crystal, put it on my team. Best 1,500 coins I ever spent. Obviously it's not something you'd want to even try a solo run with, but that's why you get a team of six to work with. Hell, my first time playing Ruby, I beat the game with an unevolved Wynaut on my team, that was leveled up along with the others (which included Castform, you might be interested to know, no regrets on using that one either!) and used regularly in battle, so it wasn't just deadweight tagging along for the right, it contributed to my victories. I still have that Wynaut, level 100, still unevolved. Omega Ruby- my team included a Wobbuffet. No regrets. This thing is amazing if you know what you're doing with it.
Also I belive this: "Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites. I like your style. You understand what's important. Go on - - the Champion is waiting." Karen
The spinda thing isn’t entirely true: Double battle skill swap choice scarf spinda. Pair it with an arcanine or any other physically attacking Pokémon with stat drop moves and intimidate, skill swap with its partner to double apply intimidate and give the partner contrary, then if it hasn’t fainted yet skill swap an opponent to get rid of its ability and boost spinda’s partner’s stats even further, and profit.
Both shedinja and smeargle are situational monsters in vgc. I know he never said they were weak, but the way he talked about these pokemon really undermines their dominat past.
I mean, Wobbufett has a use. Focus Sash makes Wobbufett guaranteed to live. Pretty much all Pokémon in the competitive scene aren’t mixed, so with enough knowledge, you know if you should use Counter or Mirror Coat. It still fails VS Physical attacking Ghost-Types and Special attacking Dark-Types but Wobbufett has a use!
Pyukumuku is actually really good because of its ability unaware and the moves Soak ,Toxic, Recover, and Block and it can reliable stall threats and trap them.
But, this isn't really necessarily talking about Competitive. Cause in single player, with multiple battles back to back without healing sometimes, both are pretty useless.
When he mentioned "Kris (Chris?) Kringle" in the thing about Delibird, all I could think of was JINGLE JANGLE HEY KRIS KRINGLE GOT ICE IN HIS VEINS FOR A REASON
@@HogW1ld385 Miltank is always a beast. In most cases, a Mon is either bulky but slow, or fast but frail. Miltank however, is bulky AND fast. How often do you see this combo?
Idk about the Wobbuffet entry, Ttar used one on his team and it did very good. Though predicting when to use counter or mirror coat is a pain I wouldn't say its a pile of crap lol.
Actually arbok is quite the support cuz it knows quite the coverage moves with the fang moves, has a 100% chance if paralysis in Glare, and has devastating combo potential in Acid Spray if you use him alongside a slower special attacker like reuniclus or cursola
I have used a Wobbuffet on a Playthrough team and It actually can do some work. You don’t necessarily have to ONLY use it to validate using it. Just because a Pokémon doesn’t have a high attacking stat and a lot of coverage, doesn’t make its strategy useless. You can do a play through with any Pokémon anyway since it’s “soooooo easy”
In competative, my first pokemon up was Delibird. I IV bred it for speed, EV trained it for speed, and gave it a quick claw. It was pretty fast. And it knew Destiny Bond. "Buttons" was a worthy sacrifice, and killed many of my foe's sweepers. XD Not going to lie, after my foe's first pokemon (usually a sweeper) was killed by "Buttons" the Delibird, there was usually a small pause before they picked their next pokemon. (my other two pokemon being talonflame and mega aggron).

@@eljordinio7647 Just swap the Pokémon
@@Tiagodp30 u can't swap wobbuffet out cos of shadow tag
@@eljordinio7647 oh yeah
what's funny is that wobbufet is so good, it's in Ubers, since there are almost no ghost types in ubers that can escape shadow tag. which means you can then encore their setup move, allowing you to switch in your pursuit user in and take it out. you cant do that against AI though, since they tend not to switch.

Wtf happened to the sponsor
You are absolutely right with Wobbuffet.
Unowns can kill your team very easily if you visit ruins of alph early on game.
Also I belive this:
"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites. I like your style. You understand what's important. Go on - - the Champion is waiting."
Karen
I have used a wobbuffet in Pokémon shield. It is amazing
Yeah Wobbuffet may have no attacking moves but if you NEED to win, just go for stall tactics. Also, THE MIND GAMES WITH THE WOBBUFFET are insane

Why was that Harry’s ad so smooth? Lol
Both shedinja and smeargle are situational monsters in vgc.
I know he never said they were weak, but the way he talked about these pokemon really undermines their dominat past.
Wobbuffet actually reached Uber in gen 4, including Wynaut, its pre evolution.
That's the reason why Shadow Tag is BANNED in Ubers. And Shed Shell was created.
Michael: Never ever use a Wobbuffet
Me: Lapras use Perish Song with Wobbuffet's Shadow Tag

I mean, Wobbufett has a use.
Focus Sash makes Wobbufett guaranteed to live.
Pretty much all Pokémon in the competitive scene aren’t mixed, so with enough knowledge, you know if you should use Counter or Mirror Coat.
It still fails VS Physical attacking Ghost-Types and Special attacking Dark-Types but Wobbufett has a use!
Now go do a playthrough with all of these as your team, I dare you
Who’s here after we got Delibird’s Paradox Form?
Yeah me. I heard he had a new form, so I quickly got one and nicknamed it "Grinchicken".

Pyukumuku is actually really good because of its ability unaware and the moves Soak ,Toxic, Recover, and Block and it can reliable stall threats and trap them.

Your sleeping on Pyukumuku. It's very usable in Competitive.
Honestly Pyukumuku and Wobbafett should be nowhere near this list. They can potentially wipe out entire teams.
@@sreenaths6829 yeah, pyukumuku is really good for stall if you use soak, toxic, protect and recover
But, this isn't really necessarily talking about Competitive. Cause in single player, with multiple battles back to back without healing sometimes, both are pretty useless.
Plus both are kinda inconsistent.

_"You also can't Toxic stall a Pokemon (With Pyukumuku) that can't be poisoned."_
Which is why you have it learn Soak.

XD
Not going to lie, after my foe's first pokemon (usually a sweeper) was killed by "Buttons" the Delibird, there was usually a small pause before they picked their next pokemon. (my other two pokemon being talonflame and mega aggron).
