I just spoke with the CHIEF on the phone. He believes that the entire outrage over this video is "a misperception". I asked him what kind of statement regarding investigation or public accountability is going to be made and he said none, because "we are handling it", and we all know what that means. He furthermore stated that they are not obligated to make a public statement and then went on to condescend to me about how I wasn't listening to his bs and hung up on me. This is clearly a case of top-down rot. Discourteous, condescending chief who probably trains his people just like the clowns in the video. Nobody is safe in that community. If this video hasn't gone to Lackluster yet, it needs to. If this is the typical attitude of police leadership, we are truly f*cked.

I used to work for Tim Hatch, the chief you spoke to. He's a piece of shit and was forced out of a prior agency for corruption, nepotism, and sexual harassment issues. He and his boy Shannon Brock (was chief of Watkinsville) tried to have me blacklisted from law enforcement but it didn't work.
Someone or several need to ask City Council to find another chief!!
@@barbarabeard6017 when he was chief in Saint Marys he had a strong preference for hiring young women under 25, also hired an adult webcam model (she works for the District Attorney now) and tried to hire a cop who was fired for showing her tits on social media while wearing a uniform shirt. Not trying to say women shouldn't be cops but in a male dominated profession it's really unusual to have HALF of a department be young hot women.

I've been done like this in a similar way and for nothing... it's hard not to seek revenge on the cops...I went looking for them ( one at a time) to get revenge but finally stopped looking because I just didn't want to go to prison....

But then again, you need 3,5 years in college only to be a police officer in my country. If you want to be something higher up, you can put 1 to 2 years of training on top of that.
There is no qualified immunity, quite the opposite, if you commit something a normal citizen would be charged for as a police officer, you get a harsher punishment and it works, no cops who get scared out of there pants because of an acorn. No 90 year old get tased to oblivion and crime rate is low.

Unfortunately, any lawsuit doesn’t punish the behavior of the individual officers. It is only punishing the taxpayers and know it. There needs to be a real independent board of possibly retired federal judges that can fire the officers and also pass federal legislation that allows the individual officers to be held financially liable plus making it a federal crime for abuse of power. Everyone knows there is no current system or laws making these police individual officers responsible for their actions that can prevent future abuse . It’s evident from all the constant new videos released every day. Often the money received in these suits are way too small for the victims to be reasonably compensated. The big payouts are usually for severe injuries or deaths that money will never really compensate the victims. How many more videos of this have to be released until actions are taken. It’s every day a new video comes out usually more outrageous than the last. The police know they will get away with no repercussions except in a rare instance of getting fired in which they are rehired by another department. Maybe a professional federal license for law enforcement needs to be issued so that if sanctioned they can’t be officers ever again in any department.

A ton of cops are former military. It should be a disqualifying factor in ever becoming a cop.

I don't think we should have people with PTSD being cops, but you understand that less than 15% of military personnel serve in any form of a combat capacity right? They're already trained with weapons, and trained to follow orders, seems like a good fit. The issue currently is we have a broken system teeming with corruption all the way from the top level. We need to be careful about who we hire, but I don't think that's the root of the issue in any way.

@@cedarbay3994 that's a deranged opinion. We have actual Rules of Engagement we have to follow, or we can be thrown in the brig indefinitely for crimes of war. Military servicemembers have to go through actual escalation of force training, unlike police officers who are trained to escalate from the beginning. We couldn't even target armed Taliban members in Afghanistan if they shot at us and then dropped their weapons. If there were civilians within visual distance of an active military force, we were not allowed to engage, even if we were being shot at. If we witnessed an IED being planted, we had to just sit and watch. If we saw an ambush lying in wait, we had to walk into it and let them fire at us before firing at them.

These were the high school jocks and bullies who decided not to go to college or learn a trade they were actually good at. So they decided to get a job as a police officer 'cause they thought it would be easy and help pay the bills and they'd still have the power to bully people like they did in high school! Have you ever noticed these guys say they swore an oath to uphold the US Constitution but if you ask them what the first 5 amendments are they don't know?! And they even say they had a class during training regarding the Constitution, but I'll bet they either slept thru it, didn't listen, or simply skipped out on it.

They always want to charge you with "resisting arrest" and "obstruction of justice" or "disorderly conduct" or "failure to ID" but what did they do to get those charges to begin with because they weren't charged with anything else but those things.
To a large extent it's just trying to block a well-deserved lawsuit.

It also seems like all those charges get dismissed anyway. I believe they should lose their job immediately when false charges are dropped.

The first thing about this whole incident that police officer lied talking about that he went up to the guy and the guy open his door and told him to leave him alone. That’s a lie and then he gonna say that the guy put his fee on the brakes thought he gonna takeoff, that’s a lie. These police officer needs to be put away in prison, not no probation, and all of that they need to be fired. Lawsuits needs to be come about. I hope this guy wins his case. There was no alarm went off. Nobody called the police or anything. The guy was asleep at his workplace.
