    I love this and it's very inspiring.... but no one ever shows how to jump to a chorus or whatever.. It's always the same demos.... but never how to transition to complete the entire song.... Am I wrong here???

      Hip hop is pretty repetitive in general by nature. A lot of the beats I've sold in life were literally 2-4 measure melodic Loops with bass and drums. The performer will usually help guide where changes should happen in the music too, so having one of those is really helpful in finding where Transitions like intros, beat drops, chorus, and bridge.. I may start a new channel soon where I take you guys into my real recording studio that has clients everyday. I understand what you're asking for though. I think many people who make content don't have access to all the performance disciplines when they're making Beats... people like me who can't sing etc.

    Is it possible to use the pads on the right for the drums instead of the keys? Sorry I‘m new to these workstations

      Absolutely. The pads have many different modes. I'll try to make a video about them specifically for you guys this week!

    Thank you. I was little afraid of my Fantom 06. I was able build a really nice jazz track.

    I am planning on getting to Fantom O 88 key early next year. I just bought the Korg nautilus about a month before the O series came out. Had I known, I may have waited and checked out the Fantom O and probably would have gotten it already. So I'll get one next year. I wanted the full Fantom 88 key, but when I tried it out at my Guitar Center, I found the keys extremely heavy weighted. I wasn't happy with the feel of them, so I got the Nautilus with the hammered weighted keys, because I wanted a full 88 key keyboard. The Nautilus feels really good to me. I hope the 88 key Fantom O feels like the Nautilus. Now I said all that to say this: I write songs, and I am old school. Does the sequencer allow a person to play their entire song in real time and record it, without playing a measure or two and looping it? In other words, my songs have a different flow to them, that just creating a pattern and looping it for the entire song. I hope I am making sense. I am a self taught keyboard player, so I am limited with my abilities and knowledge. I am drummer first. Most of the videos that I have seen of people using the sequencer, are recording a measure or two and setting the loop on it for a continuous play. I may have some songs that would be like that, but not most of them. So if you understand what I am asking, does the Fantom O series do that? Thanks to you or anyone else that reads this and replies with the answer. Thanks.

      You can record minutes of playing if you wish, yes. It’s not just for short loops. The idea is though you make a song from a series of sequences. You can do both.

    • @thecoolestdad
      @thecoolestdad Рік тому +1

      @@PaulJohnsonUK Good. I want to be able to do both. I have songs that are not just a simple loop from beginning to end. I am old school and my songs are more like songs from the 70s and 80s.

      Im thinking about the nautilus 88 as well, in your opinion is the nautilus a great 88 keyboard?, sounds, keybed, controls. Thanks in advance

    • @thecoolestdad
      @thecoolestdad Рік тому +1

      @@rickhunter6185 The Nautilus is a good keyboard. The fully weighted keys feel good and smooth. The sounds are great, especially the piano sounds and electric piano sounds. The other sounds are good too, but I haven't ventured off into them too much. But here I am updating my comment above. I have decided to get the Roland Fantom. Not the O series, but the full fledged Fantom with 88 keys. I played on one at a Guitar Center a few weeks ago for about two hours. My salesman had to order me one. I am selling my Nautilus. One reason is because I really wanted the Fantom in the first place, but I settled for the Nautilus. Second, I am not thrilled with the fact that 95% or more of the navigation through the system is done on the touch screen. After dealing with it for a while, I am finding it's more difficult to navigate and do things than I expected. There is no user's manual, except as a PDF file that you get on the Korg site. Korg doesn't give paper manuals anymore, and I have yet to go to the PDF file and try to start learning from it. Lastly, I wanted the Fantom from the get go and didn't get it like I should have. Roland is a better product in my opinion and the Fantom does so much more than a lot of other keyboards. So I am trying to sell mine. Currently a new Nautilus sells for $2800 plus tax, putting it around $3000 or so. I am selling mine for $2000 cash. It's only a few months old and I have hardly played on it at all. I'd really like to sell it instead of having to trade it back in for the Fantom. But when mine comes in and they call me, if I haven't sold it by then, I'll have no choice but to trade it in. Not sure where you live but if you are interested, let me know. Thanks.

      @@thecoolestdad Thanks for your answer, I had the opportunity to buy the fantom 8 as well but what it didn't convince me was the weight, it's 29 kg, I think it's to set it in a room and not move it anymore. That's why I'm looking for the fantom 08 which is lighter. Korg Nautilus 88 is also an option with its 23 kg, but as you said, Roland makes better keyboards. The price you are selling the Korg is good, I'm in South America so I don't think we can do business easily.

    Hey, Thanks for Posting, I am considering purchasing the Fantom O8 to replace my current live losetup (Ableton Push, Yamaha Reface Keys and Audio interface and a bunch of other stuff for live looping). Your video has been a great help. Thanks..... please post more!
