A good friend showed me how to put on compression socks. Game changer! Roll the sock down so the foot part is inside the leg part - keep your finger in the heel of the sock. Pull the sock onto your foot positioning the heel. Then carefully pull the rest of the sock up. Don’t leave any folds or creases in the sock. A YT demo: “the sunny edge: how to put on compression socks (the easy way)”
I discovered you a few months ago. You are truly excellent, and I want to deeply thank you for all this real, easy to follow, very doable content. You offer a true public service. From a retired Canadian Forces RN.
Thank you so much for your kind words, I truly appreciate them. I am so pleased you've found my videos helpful and practical - I hope you have a great day :)
Month and a half ago I bumped my right hip after passing by a table. It wasn’t a hard bump, but two days later I started feeling the effect of it. My right thigh became inflamed. My right hip was hurting and my lower back. i’m glad I found your channel as it gives me some tips to help relieve the burning in my thigh. I keep telling myself I’m going to come out of this, but it sure hurts. My chiropractor said it affected my sciatica too.
I had no idea that sitting with a gap behind the knee would be beneficial for circulation. I have never been told this despite having sluggish circulation for the past ten years. It makes a lot of sense because I occasionally feel a slight numbness after sitting in my usual position. I will definitely be sitting forward in future using pillows at my back…cheers
Thank you. After reconstruction surgery I ended with lymphedema and CRPS, your video with how to properly sit in an office chair was the missing piece.
Happy Valentine's Day 😍, good day for proposing, mine said "Shall we set the date?" In a tent ⛺ in Scotland, I was weak and he knew it, much love from Montreal!
Tanks a lot dear!!!!!! I am 75,had a very good health, but after my knee operation and Planters phescitic😢 I am not so active!!!!! I do appreciate ur help because my blood circulation is not good, feet swelling 😢😮!!!!! Just tell me how to get rid of the HEEL PAIN!!!!!! MAY GOD BLESS U DEAR!!!!! 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
The curled under chair position is one many short people will know for our legs have not way to reach floor to rest flat. So I now use a shoe box as foot rest under dining table and headset boxes on floor under sewing machine tables and computer desk to give feet a place to sit flat and raise legs off chair edges. Another one is offcut of lounge chair insert foam sat in front of the chair to use as sot foot rest and on low foot rest for when I need to get feet up further but without cutting off circulation resting on hard footrest. This simple box footrest should be taught to parents for kids to use and those who will never get to reach floor on chairs designed for average height adults. Even adjustable office chairs often won't drop down far enough. Thanks for the videos. Went to look for your book but honestly videos much better for me as visual learner.
A very good helpful video again! You've never let me down! I have been following you not long. Yesterday both my hubby ans neighbour said ' what have you done?.your walking is getting so much better!' Thanks Will! 🙂
Could you please advise best exercise other than walking, which I am doing, for recovery from a severe bout of Cellulitis in leg. Its almost a year since the flare up and I have never known pain like it. The pain is gone now, though I still experience a lot of shiny redness on my lower shin and tenderness, numbness in my ankle. Fantastic channel, at 63 I'm not ready for the rocking chair.
Useful things to do. I tend to stay sitting for hours, but try to get up now and then. While I am sitting, I often keep moving my feet up and down and sideways, too. I work from home and also try to lift my legs against a wall for 10 to 12 minutes once daily. Thank you, I appreciate your help.
Great tips, working from home has introduced a new world of benefits and problems at the same time! It's important to allow yourself breaks to get up and move around to give yourself relief!
I have ( varicose veins) poor circulation on my legs. My legs swell all the way to my thighs. They keep getting bigger. My doctor told me to use 20/30 compression pantyhose. I walk and raise my feet and I use heat treatments. I will do these tips you have explained. Hopefully they will help improve my condition.Thank you so much for this valuable video.
Sitting for 31/2 hours in a doctors waiting room gave me cramps from leg to thigh. I am 80 years old woman. The height and seating of the chair contribute to it. Thank you for the tips that can use during long flights and travels.
Thanks for the soccer socks tip. Have been wearing thigh-high compression but feel they're cutting off circulation as very tight. Going to store now for new socks!
Thanks Will, I will try the pillows at night tip. I'd also like to suggest I find wearing a set of loose fitting wool bed socks helps with keeping my feet warm, which helps to alleviate cramp. Will that also help with circulation?
Thanks again Will. I have poor circulation and on medication for the same. Useful information. Tried the stocking , it's really a fight to get them. Elevating the feet are really soothing. ❤
Thank you for these tips to improve leg circulation 🙏 I prefer doing exercises but while sitting or sleeping if these tips help I will definitely be giving it a try.
2:30 Compression socks always seem controversial to me. Why would compressing the lower legs restrict only the downward back flow and not the upward venal return flow?
Perfect timing. Couple of months ago right leg, ankle, foot began swelling with foot and toes going red. Nerve conduction test reveal increase damage from previous test 2018 so I will follow your advice with gratitude. Bkessings
