  • We often find that we aren’t sure what we’re feeling.
Whether we’re unsure if we’re angry or not; or unsure if we should leave a relationship or not, this lack of clarity can cause a lot of suffering.
We feel confused and trapped, we aren’t sure which way to turn in life and often end up harming ourselves or others.
In this video, I suggest that-deep down-we know exactly what we are feeling, we just unconsciously resist it for various innocent survival reasons.
Let me take you through the 3 main ways we do this and what to do about it in each case so you can access you feelings fully and use them to guide you in life.

Try a thought experiment - if I wasn't having this feeling, whatever it may be, what would that look like?

I use a topographical emotion map from a Finnish research team in Aalto University. I can feel and then look at the map and match the emotion. It's been vital. The emotions wheel is too confusing!

Thank you - interesting. I'm curious - how do you distinguish between emotions that are in similar areas of the body? I'm curious how you use it, basically! Cheers, Ben

@@drunkenbuddha4456 Look up the map, there isn't an emotion that's the same, some are similar but I guess then you really have to think about what it is exactly you are feeling and why. I'm new to all of this and still have a hard time figuring out exactly what it is I'm feeling. I find it very helpful to become mindful, feel exactly were in my body the sensations are and then check on the map for a similar lay out. When I get a general idea of what emotion it is, it helps guide me to possible reasons for said emotion. I'm still only at a stage of knowing if something feels positive or negative, I have alot to learn about the specifics of each emotion and how it feels in my body. It's fun to finally figure all of this stuff out!

Helpful video. Though i dont know why people keep repeating that its usually men who want to break up. I see only women who are not satisfied and who file for a divorce, move out, break up, cheat etc. Men are usually not that decisive

Thanks. I didn't say it's mainly men that want to break up. I said it's mainly men that deflect from the truth in that particular way (i.e. by unconsciously repressing how they feel and being 'confused' about it). Although of course women do that, too. It's just that men do it more frequently on the whole so it makes it easier for people to grasp.
