- This mini-LP by the B52s was released in 1982. I'm constantly surprised by the fact that the 6 amazing tracks on the album are not more well known, as they perfectly encapsulate the essence of the B52s in all their quirky John Waters-esque small town genius.
Incredibly well produced, the album starts off with Loveland, the nervy, gothy sister to Love Shack - that much more sexy and intense, it pulsates and punches until its final metaphorical climax ... and still the beat goes on reaching well past its final fade-out ... that would have been one hell of a party!!
Enjoy.
What a band, Very well produced by David Byrne from Talking Heads, 1982
I have this album, loved this version! I bought this new in the US when it first came out.
Cindy's voice is powerful, music is amazing as always!
+Glenn Barth Such a great album!! Wish there was more of it!
80s groove here, 1982.
Ah, the early 1980s
This is a good record! :-)
Yes indeed!
Do you have upload on youtube "Cake", perhaps?
This version is slightly different than the version I have on CD. Can I find it anywhere else besides the LP?
Hi Igor - hopefully the download link still works on this site - make sure to check out the comments as well - samemistakesmusic.blogspot.com.au/2009/09/b-52s-mesopotamia-david-byrne-mixes.html
Hello temasekdan, thanks for the reply. I'm afraid all the links are already expired (the files were hosted at Rapidshare and I believe the site doesn't exist anymore). Are you sure this version of your video was there? The David Byrne remix of Loveland is very different and way longer.
I have the US Warner Bros version which is shorter - didn't realise how difficult this is to get hold off! If I find anything, I'll post another comment here
