True story: I was at a gym in NYC in 2019 working out with an Angel Dust t-shirt on. I was in the middle of a set when someone came up and pointed at my shirt and then pointed at himself and gave me a thumbs up. He looked familiar but in my post bench press haze, I couldn't figure out who he was or what he was pointing at. I sat up and the guy extended his hand and said "love the shirt, I'm Roddy"....Talk about amazing universal timing. Got to meet and chat with Roddy Bottum that day and was fortunate enough to see him a few times after that at the same place. I explained that Angel Dust was the album that helped me survive my sophomore year in high school and that I was bummed that the next album didn't have as much of his synth work on it. He was super friendly and patient as I geeked out :)

Bought it on cassette when it came out. I didn't get it on first listen, but I just kept playing it in the car that whole summer, and revealed itself, and soon couldn't stop playing it. That's the album that taught me about expectations & preconceptions when approaching anticipated albums.

I had the cassette too, but it didn't have "Easy" on it. Later, I bought "Easy" with the 2 rhinos humping on the cover (remember when they used to make cassette singles, with a "B side"?). I started liking the B-side "Das Schutzenfest" more and more as I was taking German in high school at the time. "Hund weg, Arschloch!" 😁
