purchased one 4 weeks ago for my home and use with my MacBook Pro M3 Max 16". Best thing I have done, superb, and just makes using my software a total pleasure. No idea (apart from cost) why its took me so long to get one :)
Glad you're enjoying it! I was the same way. The price really was the big hurdle for the device but once you buy one you realize how incredible the device is. Adore my studio display.

I've used the LG 5K for the past 4 years and upgraded to a Studio Display and think it's completely worth it. It's the same panel, but the studio display just looks better, shaper and brighter. The overall aesthetic is nicer too, better materials and workmanship.

had my studio display for 3 months, bought the 13" oled ipad, and sold the studio display the next day! speakers on the studio display are super nice, but compared to their mini led macbook pro screens and now esp the new oled displays, i think the studio display @ 60 hz with huge bezels is embarrassing and making apple look like sh*t!
Eh. It’s still pretty much the best full size external display you can get for a Mac. Kind of absurd to say it’s embarrassing. An update is for sure in the cards though. The new iPad and MacBooks have better displays for sure. Would love to see the studio display get the new iPad Pro Display.

Great B-roll in this video. I have an iMac 24” M1 and a 16-inch MBP M3 Max which is obviously faster than the iMac. So I was considering getting rid of the iMac and getting a Studio Display to use with my MBP.

No one ever mention that the VESA version makes it ultra-adjustable.
I mean that's kind of a given. That's the point of VESA mounting a monitor. That being said the VESA arm you would want to get for this display adds a pretty big expense. Also kinda ruins the artistic design of the display itself. But you aren't wrong.

I use three ASDs side-by-side. My only "major" complaint is that they only display about 85% Adobe RGB and lots of my work goes to "print".
Would be great if they were a tad more accurate.
I don't regret my Studio display purchase. I actually live and travel in a bus as a software engineer and photographer, and it's the best thing to have because it's got everything built in, and I can use it as a media center with my iPad mini to consume content and listen to music.

Sold my gaming PC while I am in school since I don’t really have time to game but I’d love a small device I could use occasionally to relax. I agree with all of your points. I use a Mac mini and the only thing keeping me from buying a Studio Display is its lack of at least one other input option. I frequently game at my desk using my Xbox and I decided against the Studio Display because I would need two displays on my desk and I only want one.
Well you could technically use an hdmi to usb c dongle. I’ve gotten requests in the comments here now to try seeing how compatible the studio display is with the steam deck. I tried gaming through my MacBook Pro on the studio and it wasn’t great unfortunately 😂
@@AndrewTaylorYT Yeah, but I prefer a solution rather than a workaround. USB-C to HDMI converters usually work as intended omnidirectionally but rarely the other way around. It definitely wouldn’t work with an Xbox.

@BiblijneChrzescijanstwo ah. I don’t expect to see a follow up studio display for another 4-6 years to be honest. I’d like to think we get a refreshed Pro Display XDR soon but we are probably a couple years away from that as well.
@@AndrewTaylorYT we will see. For company as Apple having 60Hz display in 2024 when all other products has 120Hz means it can happen earlier. Also camera😅
@BiblijneChrzescijanstwo I agree but Apple doesn’t really seem to care about pro motion in their monitors. They’ve made more of a statement on how you can turn the monitors down to fixed 30 or 24hz for editing. Like I said in the video. Would be cool if there was 120hz but there really isn’t any reason for there to be. The camera in the studio display is also perfectly solid.
I sold my Studio Display and moved to a a 32” OLED and haven’t looked back. Poor uniformity, black levels, camera that is crap, no input switching just made it not too smart investment. Not worth the high price tag.
Idk I disagree. At the price I stated I think it’s an incredible investment. Provides the entire iMac Pro experience. It’s not an OLED panel but it’s a very high end display with more clarity than your 32 inch OLED. The camera is completely fine for its use cases. The display is beautifully designed and capable with some good extra IO. Yes it doesn’t input switch but idk why you would be running multiple Mac’s on 1 display??
