That area is hard to fish cos u can only fish certain points in tide before tide is too much

"Five hour drive", 🤣🤣🤣 You go via Glasgow, then? if, you want to keep your marks secret, you need to film and edit so that, viewers do not, get a view of the surroundings.
Learning can be a painful process, but take heart, as you can't, learn from mistakes unless, you make them first. There's no substitute for experience, and you're in the process of accumulating it, so a few mishaps along the way are inevitable. Keep making the vids! Great for encouraging others.

@@thorfinnravenfeeder appreciate the comment. The spot is a mission from where we live but would do double that drive to find good fish 😂. Hard thing to come by but we always fish responsibly and always catch and release when we can.

@@PringlesRodandReel I know that mark well. Some good fish to be had there, once you figure out how to fish it right. My mate caught a big Tope there, many years ago, and I once, hooked something there that stripped my reel and snapped a 50b leader.
Try Caliach point on Mull, on a falling tide. Strong current similar to that mark so, you need big metals cast uptide and allowed to sink to the bottom before retrieving slowly. Big Pollack there. The cliffs at the back of Duart castle are good for Pollack, as are the rocks in front of Glengorm Castle. You can camp on the coast at Glengorm, and leave your car in the car park at the castle.
      Would make a good vid.

Awww that’s amazing, bet you were wondering what it was that stripped your line. I fished duart castle years ago when I was probably about 12 just with feathers but had no where near the knowledge I have now. Will maybe try get a weekend off soon and head up to mull then. Thank you for the information, really appreciate it. 👍🏻 tried to go for spurdogs and tops in Skye but I was terrible don’t think my casting with the big rods is good enough. Defo want to get into that type of fishing. Just can’t beat lure fishing 🤣

@@PringlesRodandReel For Spurdogs, try Loch Sunart. There's a few deep marks on the north shore. Check it out on Google Maps and depth charts. They are entertaining whilst, you wait for Skate to bite, and they are often, double figures. If you're fishing for Skate, the first hour of the ebb is the prime time.
I lived on Mull for ten years and worked for a lure company, "Bridun Lures" owned by the same people that own the tackle shop in Tobermory. As I field tested the lures, obviously I lure fished a lot on Mull, and still do, though I'm in Central Scotland now. Long drive to get to those Pollack, but as you say, well worth it!
Big metals score best for Pollack, fished just above the bottom. Cast out then, do a count until, the lure hits bottom. Subtract two from that count on the next cast, and retrieve. You can adjust the count to avoid weeds and snags, but the closer the lure is to structure and cover, the better. I find, large, heavy spoons are best, fished slowly. Smaller lures tend to catch too many Mackerel and wee Coalies, but huge Pike and Salmon spoons work great if, they are heavy enough. Of course, jiigs can be fished bouncing along the bottom, but you'll lose a lot, so get them from Temu for under £1.50, and you won't care too much. I use cheap Temu jigs and lures to search the water for snags and features, changing to better lures once, I understand what's in front of me.
Best of luck, wherever you go, and hope your wee channel grows.
