Fishing fail fall lucky to be alive and a few pollock 😂🎣

- The day started well until Kev broke his rod !
He went off on the 1/2 hour hike to get his spare and I was into the pollock having a lovely time ! Kev returned and was straight into a fish probably the same one ! He had to get his tools to get the hook out and had a nasty fall also falling onto his other rod breaking that into about 8 bits ! Although at the time I hadn’t noticed his Bellingham style over head kick had hit my Major craft triple cross sea bass style so the rod you see in the air was mine ! This breaks in the next video 🤷🏻♂️it wasn’t until I was editing that I noticed it was my rod in the air ! So all in all poor old Kev had broken 3 rods and had a bad fall !
Onto more serious matters this is now a couple of weeks ago and Kev is ok but still having problems with his shin .. he’s still unable to ride his bike that is his passion but he’s alive !” Luckily “ he hit his head on the angle and not on the top edge where his GoPro ended up ! I’m not sure how we can call this lucky but he’s still with us that’s the main thing..
Thanks guys for all the messages of support and asking if i am ok. My shin is still feeling a bit sore and theres a sizeable lump on the bone but no lasting damage thanks. We are all to quick to dish out advice to people but sometimes dont heed it ourself. So lesson learned and hopefully back fishing soon. Tight lines everyone and thanks again !
Fair play to Kevin that was a heavy fall take it easy. Nice session also plenty of pollocks 😮. Kev may wanna use a 50lb boat rod they are tough as broom handles.
Think he needs a steel rod !

Regards to Kev, hope he wasn’t too sore the following day. A fun day out can turn nasty quick even for the most experienced. Something we all need a reminder of occasionally. Glad he walked away ok.

Never mind the rods, glad you're both OK. Good to see that you were both wearing life vests, a perfect example of why you should wear one. If you get the ones that auto inflate they will keep you afloat and your head above water even if you knock yourself out, well done guys. Could have been sooo much worse.

They are auto inflating jackets… I was washed in when I was getting cocky last year another lesson learnt 👍🏻

I live here, never fish the coast without studs, summer or winter the rocks can be deadly especially after rain. No matter how experienced you are its so easy to get caught out, could have been worse but as said a good day can turn itself on its head in a flash. Tightlines

Good illustration of why you should never fish the rocks without studs, it's like driving a car without a seatbelt.
Especially when you have them with you but decide not to wear them !! Lesson definitely learnt !

Yeah I think the jumping up and I am etc was a shock thing then the adrenaline kicks in.. got him sat down for a bit before we climbed back up !

Hope Kev is well, nasty fall that, had a few myself. I went to a mark last night , big angled boulders with 15ft deep voids between, I was on my own with studs on as always. This video has made me think again, I will stick to safer areas at night when on my own, it just isn't worth it! even for a 70cm Bass. You can't catch a thing with a broken leg/knee or worse.
Yeah it’s a bit of a reminder to us all not to get to complacent with our safety when fishing! Same as the video I posted last year when I ended up in the drink !
That made me feel physically sick. I didn't see my own, but did the same thing falling down cliffs and had to be winched off the rocks by coastguard helicopter. Brain haemorrhage and broken ribs and cut my head open. Knocked out too. I'm so much more careful now! Please be careful too 😊

TAKE 5 Kev LAD . The rocks here in NORTH WALES were a bit dodgy due to damp weather last weekend ,very dangerous , always stick together lads , i always have my eldest son with me . glad you both got home safe , HAPPY HUNTING ALL THE BEST

Hi yep if you watched it closely you will see we are both wearing jackets I think Kev’s probably protected his neck during the fall👍🏻

I had a fall like this a couple of years ago, did my ankle gashed my leg and and ended upside down in a deep rock pool.Brings it home how careful you've got to be and you're lucky to be able to walk out after a fall on rocks. Your footwear is totally wrong , you need studs, they're so much safer. Look at supratrack studs

Guys, I fish on slimy rock edges, Ive got a pair of walking shoes that I wear during the summer on the rock marks, Ive bought a bag of Kold Kutter scew in studs, about £7 on Ebay. I have 3 in the sole of each shoes and two in the heel. Makes a hell of a difference on slimy rock. Look after yourself. That was nasty.

Commiseration to your mate Kev, he would have hurt like a stuck pig the day after , hope he mended ok…unlike his rods, poor rotten luck…maybe it is worth investing in some studs , shame it spoiled what was a decent sesh…subbed for future content.

Probably my biggest fear i am 54 i avoid the rocks in wet and winter. In the winter i stick to the sea wall

I had a friend who did this alone and died. Insane fall and lucky. You cannot fish those rocks at that age, Im sorry...especially with the wrong boots.

Have a look at supertrack studs,they have fantastic grip,they do kits tool and studs,for you too screw in yourself,ive done my chest and thigh waders for fishing over wet and weedy rocks been well impressed.You can stud up walking boots and wellies too,just makes it safer under your feet.

Poor kev .. felt dead sorry for him .. that was one mare of a day for him and the two rods ! 🫣 I’ve been meaning to ask you .. what casting weight is the triple cross you use ? I’m thinking of getting the 9’ 15-42g version but I’ve read that anything over 23g is a push for it
Worse than you think it was 3 rods the rod he kicks into the air with the overhead kick was my major craft triple cross… it’s now dead also kev has graciously bought me a new one … definitely a day to forget oh mine is 10-30 it’s lovely
Ouch ! I didn’t know your triple cross got totalled too !! Least you got a new one out of it anyway .. more importantly it’s a result Kev didn’t really hurt or worse .. it was a bad fall that one !! I ended up ordering the triple cross 9’8” surf version 10-45g .. anyway I’ll look forward to your next vid mate and tight lines
