- DON'T BUY DeWALT TOOLS NEWEST IMPACT DRIVER AND HERE'S WHY...
Today we go over some specifications and tell you not to buy DeWALT Tools newest atomic 20V Max compact impact driver! How compact is it and is it worth the money? Lets find out what is really going on here. - Навчання та стиль
As I said earlier, I repair tools 5 days a week, mostly for contractors and manufacturing but some for homeowners. I base my opinions on what I see coming through the shop on a regular basis and what types of repairs those tools typically need. If I see trends in certain brands or specific tools, I take note because I use some of these tools on my bench all day long and I like to keep my customers informed if I see flaws in the tool design or the way the manufacturer is addressing the problem.
What I’ve been seeing for the past year is the following;
DeWalt battery-powered tools that are still under warranty most consistently need the motor switch assembly replaced. This is true for brushless impacts, drill/drivers hammer drills, and oscillating tools. If the tool is out of warranty, we have no choice but to declare it beyond repair when we find this problem. The motor switch assembly replacement with labor cost more than the replacement cost of the tool.
A similar situation is rearing its ugly head with the new Milwaukee battery-powered tools. The problem being the trigger assembly breaking.
BTW here’s a couple of tips from someone that deals with this all the time.
TIP #1 Put a couple of drops of oil inside your drill chuck keyed or keyless periodically to keep it working smoothly.
Tip #2 On all your angle grinders, oscillating tools and other tools that will encounter lots of fine dust on a regular basis. Particularly concrete or drywall dust. Use your compressor to blow the dust out of the tool at the end of the day. The money you will save on repairs and replacements will more than makeup for the little amount of time you spend doing this. This also applies to routers large and small and sanders.
Tip #3 On your pneumatic tools if it says oil daily on the tool near the air chuck. That means a few drops of (AIR TOOL OIL) daily and yes there a winter version of this oil. Use the correct stuff and it only takes a little. I cannot tell you how many tools I repair at an average cost of ~$100+ because they tried to use the tool dry. A few drops of oil daily would have saved the loss of use of the tool while it’s down for repairs and the cost of the repair.
Tip #4 Lastly on Pneumatics, more air pressure will not make the tool work better. Every tool I test on the bench is at 80 psi. This is optimal operating pressure for all air tools. Increasing air pressure on the tool will only harm internal parts and cause excessive wear to the tool. If the tool is not driving the fastener far enough into the material, air pressure is not the problem. If it won’t work properly at 80psi then it won’t work any better at 120psi. Also, PLEASE drain your air tanks regularly or put a water separator on your compressor. Water is a no, no, in air tools. And do not use WD40 in air tools it is NOT a lubricant and it will damage the rubber parts.
Just sharing, I hope it helps
Which 20v DeWalt impact driver do you recommend buying? My DCF885 broke the chuck and looking for the best model, staying in the 20V DeWalt line. Thanks for your response.
@@alanheaven6776
Dewal;t DCF887B
This is the tool that I use most frequently on my bench. The three power settings are very useful in breaking loose tough bolts and screws. The low setting is safe for reinstalling said fasteners without stripping or breaking the heads off. However, when I work on plastic tool bodies, I use a smaller Hitachi DB3DL2 Power Cordless Screwdriver with torque setting so that I don’t strip the screws out of the plastic on re-assembly. Since the company that I work for carries all the major brands of power tools, I can purchase any tool I want at dealer cost. So, I opt for the best and most reliable tool available.
I just recently purchased Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Sub-Compact Brushless Cordless Impact Driver with a slim profile battery. I got it for the lightweight and am now just getting used to it. But, I've not had it long enough to make any kind of qualified recommendation one way or the other.
I hope this is helpful information.
I really appreciate the tips is there a tool brand that you recommend that has the least problems?
@@alanheaven6776
First off, I don’t wish to appear to be hijacking VCG’s channel. Just sharing helpful into is all.
Secondly please be trade or task specific, since listing all the good brands available would take up a lot of band width.
I will share what I know to be reliable industrial quality brands and specific tools applications.
@grumpy granda
The Dewalt DCF887 would be my recommendation at this point if that's going to be your only impact tool.
Dropped my DeWalt impact drill 30 feet off a catwalk onto concrete still working 3 years later. 🤷♂️
I dropped my old 18V Dewalt impact off the top off a 12 ft ladder 5 years ago and I still use it 5 days a week now. The sparks flew when it hit the ground and the battery came out but it has never failed me even tho I failed it lol
I used mine as a hammer
Dropped mine Five stories to concrete and it laughed and walked it off lol
@@hayden9102 lmao. Same
Love my dewalts same as you , cost less than Milwaukee too
Bought one of the impact drivers a month ago. Used it everyday on a job. Best tool I have every owned. Thumbs up to Dewalt.
Which one?
@@scottishjimmy9813 dewalt 20 volt max impact/driver, 6-1/2" 20 volt cordless saw. Dewalt tools are great.
@@Serrano46571 was it the DCF809?
Agreed
Same here awesome
Waited 2: minutes to hear whatever he had to say. Still hadn’t got to the point
He did.. Under powered but the same size
After listening to this video twice I still can't figure out the difference between the 887 and the 888 which I was getting ready to buy???
Sometimes he just says a whole lot of nothing
I like the guy, I like the channel, but yeah sometimes he talks a lot without saying much.
This video is shit
If anyone would like to get rid of their DeWalt tools I will gladly give you my address and you can send em my way! Lol
Ha ha i ll put mine up also ... lol... great idea.
You will be more successful to just look for them at your local dump. Everybody knows garbage goes to the dump.
Exactly. Lol
I've been flooded with don't buy DeWalt recently. Who is paying for these ads?
@@marybrown7203 I'm a dewalt fanboy, and I still am. While I have seen a lot of peeps questioning their quality of late, I continue to use and abuse my MANY 20 volt cordless dewalt tools almost daily, without a fatality thus far after about 4 years. I've had smoke pouring out of impactor several times, and she still begs for work. I like Milwaukee and Makita, but it's dewalt 4 life for me.
I own 2 of these. Puts in thousands and thousands of screws. I dropped 1 in a pond building a dock. Dove down 9 feet and found it. It was under at least 15 minutes. Let it dry for a few days and works perfect, that was roughly a year ago. Still works perfect. I love mine.
I’ve never had a dewalt tool fail me. Even after dropping them onto cement from high heights off of ladders. Just pick them up and keep on working and be thankful I bought a dewalt.
I think you mean concrete, cement is just powder.
Owned DeWalt for the last 6 years and never let me down, just ordered another DCD996 bloody brilliant.
professional auto tech here to defend the 887: its great for the automotive industry. it hits hard, doesnt weigh much and you could even swap a 3/8 anvil into it, should you choose. it has never let me down, i have been using it day in/out for the last 2 years.
I’m glad it serves you well my friend!!
How would one change the 1/4” chuck into a 3/8” Square Drive for sockets? Got a part number? That would be the cat’s meow! 😺
@@catlady8324 check the videos on my channel, there is more detail on there. the anvil from the other models should interchange nicely with the 887's
I agree the 887 is skookum as frig
Shakenbakestudios if its up, find the flexvolt grinder review.
I have a DeWalt brushless XR impact, the 887 model. Its put under heavy use in small engine repair and it has never had a problem. In addition, I use the 787 ones at school screwing boards together, and they never fail either. Both the 787 and the 887 are beasts!
I own a small fence and deck company. My DeWalt impacts are used more than any of my other tools. I started with the standard brushed impacts. They did very well, but when put through continued use in hot weather, they started cooking brushes. I finally upgraded to the xr brushless 3 speed impacts, and haven’t had 1 issue in 6 months. One of my employees purchased the Atomic impact, and immediately regretted it. It is super underpowered. He returned it after just a couple days. I’ve learned that brushed dewalt tools are great for moderate use and not a bad avenue for getting started in the industry. I still have a lot of my original brushed tools from dewalt, but every they start burning brushes, or losing performance, I upgrade to XR, and couldn’t be happier.
Good feedback thanks!!
Buy Makita ... Never return to Milwaukee or Default
I own a dcf895 for years and got the job done and I just recently bought a Milwaukee 2853 - 20 to replace my legendary DeWalt but third day problems make a video about that... Switching back to DeWalt...🤘
Milwaukee, I see what you're doing here.
Milwaukee sucks.
I have the new atomic and it’s amazing. I’m not a contractor or an expert but I’d say I’m pretty pro around the house and other projects and you can’t ask for more. This tool offers exactly what you need given that you’re not a contractor requiring crazy statistics. I’d argue it’s the perfect tool for the house and shed.
You're a DIY and your opinion/experience doesn't merit anything. No offense.
I just bought my 1st DeWalt DCF885 for $25 charger and it also came with a 2ah battery. But this Christmas I got a DCF809 should I return the 809 and get something better? Or keep it??
Wow thanks Vince I just purchased the DCF887M2 love it had no problems has plenty of power for what I need. Every time I watch your channel gives me another excuse to tell my wife I need another tool Home Depot bound. Thanks for all your post love the channel
He needs the 10 minute video because of UA-cam policy to get paid. So he just repeats everything.
MONSTER ENERGYDRINKS it’s been going to shit ever since google bought it in 2007....
Hazael Moreno de wault is terrible I recommend Milwaukee or makita
That is why i dont watch all of it.just jump around, total min watch is about 1min.
This comment would make sense if the video was actually 10 min, but it isn't so your comment is pointless.
Stfu
I’m an electrician who puts this exact impact and corresponding drill to work every day. Speaking from personal experience, I haven’t had any issues with them and have been very impressed. I think they are fantastic and would highly recommend them to anyone.
As an electrician what do you use the drill for?
lol
I have both the DCF809 in the video and the older brushed DCF885 impact driver. The power difference is striking and Vince is absolutely correct when he says that the DCF809 is grossly underpowered. While I am not a high performance user of either impact driver, I did switch back to the old reliable 885 when I had difficulty in building my kids' cedar swing set and other home reno projects. I just keep a few extra brush assemblies around when I need to replace the brushes in the 885.
So what is the best impact driver they offer then? I had the 20v xr brushless that came out in 2014 or.so bought the combo kit but looking to upgrade. So whats better the 787 or the 3 speed 887 or the 888 Bluetooth?
The dewalt impact drill with the 3 speed settings is by far more powerful and useful than my Milwaukee 3 speed Bluetooth impact and my Ridgid brushless impact. I use it 7 days a week drilling thru concrete brick and 16g tubing.
Still have my Dewalt I bought 24 years ago..
I've got some antique tools, too. They used NiCad batteries back then. I don't still use them, though.
I sold my old nicads , I've regretted it ever since
They didn't sell brushless back then
I still have my old dewalt corded drill...must be over 25 years old.
Nobody cares how long you’ve kept your broken tool
I have owned the Dewalt 886 impact for about 2.5 years and originally purchased it when I decided to build a firewood shed. I'm a DYI homeowner so do not use it a lot but I'm constantly impressed with the power when I do. I'm actually more interested in the atomic drill than the impact (since I own the 886 impact) but I don't necessarily want the most powerful drill since I have a larger dewalt 20v hammer drill - I just want the smallest/lightest that I can use with the 20v packs I already own since it seems to make sense to stick with the 20volt system that I already am invested in rather than starting a new 12v system to get smaller/lighter weight tools. Looking back, for my purpose as a DYI something like the M12 system probably would have been a better choice for me. I'm also interested in what brushless circular saw they come out with and wonder if it will be an upgrade to the older brushed 20v circular saw I own.
I have makita and dewalt tools, but you sir have saved me a lot of cash and grief with your previous 887 video.
Thank you, keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Boot, we appreciate the comment!!
Love dewalt but i think il pass on the 809. I am interested in the circular saw and the reciprocating saw. They should have made a brushless 12v impact with a 3 amp 12v battery. Very upset.
ive had the 3-speed DCF887B impact for a year and half so far. that being my first driver ever and so far i cannot complain about it. other than cosmetics, it still works like new, very light weight compared to milwaukee’s.
I have a dewalt 18 volt skill saw that the nut that holds the blade on will not come loose. It is not a rust issue the tool has been stored in my home in a spare bedroom I keep tools in and it is lightly used but nothing will budge loosening that nut any suggestions?
Whats difference between impact drill versus Impact wrench?
I want to drive 3/8’s lag bolts into the ground from 8 too 12 inches deep. Can a guy use say craftsmen sockets on the drills?
I love my dewalt! The only issues I've had would be my fault, they can only handle about 15 drops off your belt from the rafters before the case breaks. But it's only $20 for a new shell.
And thre best part? My company buys all my tools so free is always the best.
Their 12 volt Impact Driver has 2,400 RPM and 3,400 IPM . They should do something with their 12 volt line instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.
I'm new to power tools. I'm a first time homeowner. Your videos have been nothing less than a Godsend!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all of the Outstanding content you provide.
Excellent comparison of these impact drivers from dewalt. If I were doing a comparison of these I would have the exact same questions, concerns, and comments
I use my dewalt drill for straight 3 years , concrete holes , door holes Nd much more Nd still working like new , dewalt 4life
Dewalt is my favorite tools...🤠
I buy what I want.
Thanks for taking the time to show us all out here in the real world why a new offering from DeWalt does or does not make sense if it's supposed to be a subcompact 18 volt system if it's down on power, and still roughly the same size as it's other impact driver. The information you gave us the tool manufacturers might not be happy with but that might be something that we need to know before investing money on one.👍
I was looking at different battery tools and had a friend suggest DeWalt. So I've gone that route based on his experience with multiple tools. What sold me the most was he was building a shed and left his DeWalt battery drill outside all night in a wheelbarrow. It rained that night and filled the Wheelbarrow. In the morning he found his drill 100% submerged. It took it inside, dried it, sat it on a dehumidifer for a day or two and it worked perfectly and is still working. That convinced me to at least try the deWalt line of products.
I just bought the DeWalt 886 last month and I have not been disappointed. It runs well and handles every I have thrown at it around the house. When I saw the video posted in the "Atomic Drop" I instantly felt some buyers remorse, but that feeling soon passed as I realized the 809 was a total turd and would have been painfully slow working on the truck and then would have been a pain in the butt on the work I did re-hanging some doors. All I can say is that I made the right choice in tool for the cordless system that I have.
I just got the atomic drill 809 too
Im Loking forward to use it doing Sheetrock and other work
It seem powerfully enough and the kit with 2 batery and charger was only $ 136.00 now it’s going up
I’ve only seen him talk about Milwaukee.. I would need to see more from others
He is super biased no matter how good or bad DeWalt performes, he probably gets paid by Milwaukee.
Milwaukee marketing spend is over a Billion. If tools are that good and they not running the tv ads where are they spending, no really.
Hey man - I’m looking at getting the dewalt hammer drill and driver combo kit. I know you mentioned don’t get a boat anchor one. There’s two kits out there: the flex volt and basic. Which one do you recommend getting?
The dcf 809 Dewalt has the power to remove the bracket nuts of the chevy impala 2011???? I just need information thanks
Thanks Vince, check is in the post, love from Makita
I repair tools like this all day long, five days a week. I absolutely agree with your assessment of this tool. Additionally, DeWalt like several other manufactures have realized that there are two distinct markets out there. One is the pro and the other is the homeowner or weekender. Not that those are bad in any way. It's just poor marketing on the part of the manufacturer not to make it clear that in fact, there are two different lines of their product that often look almost the same. Once you open these lower-end products up to service or repair them you then realize how clearly different, they are. I won’t say where I work because we are a factory authorized repair center for most of these brands. For me to speak ill of anyone's brand would not be wise.
I will say this, however, I personally own some of nearly all the 18 different brands that we service, and I have developed personal preferences for one or the other based serviceability and or general quality of construction of the product.
My current go-to brand for most cordless tools is Makita.
For woodworking equipment, Delta without question.
Pneumatics: for Roofers Hitachi NV45 is the industry Gold standard.
A new company with an old Bostitch engineer in the background is Everwin. They make a full line of the coil and stick nailers, and staplers as well as some specialty tools. They currently do not make a roofer. These are high-quality tools priced very competitively.
High Pressure: Max pretty much has the market cornered on this line.
Max until recently had the market cornered on the Re-Bar tying tools until this year and now Makita has a competitively priced model with a guaranteed 72-hour turnaround on repairs. And BN products USA has a new tool that will use any brand of wire and the motor is fully sealed from dust and dirt and it’s only $1600 and change, as opposed to the Same tool from Max at $2349.00 and the Max tool will only use Max wire.
Keep up the good work, man. I like your informative videos
I’m new to the power tool thing and I just purchased DeWalt impact driver/drill combo. They both have wobble more so with the impact driver. Can someone tell me if this is normal?
I just started transitioning from Makita to Dewalt for all of my power tools. The Atomic Kit was the First Dewalt tools I purchased. $150 with the 2 1.5 Amp hour battaries, charger and bag. Comparitevly the same kit from Milwaukee was a M18 kit for $169, Makita was $150, Rigid was $140, and Ryobi was $120 I believe. For the price point on this kit it does its job and is a Budget friendly way to start getting guys into their line. I am not in a construction trade, I am a Machine Rebuilder / Technician so my needs are probably different. But for someone like me it'd work good. Just an opionon of myself in December 2020
Yeah same, I'm done with makita tools after both my drill and driver broke twice within a week of eachother both times in just over a year, got them fixed after 8 months (with warranty) and the second time the warranty was done. Pretty certain they have purposeful mistakes that cause them to brake so you have to get them repaired
I love my dewalt tools never had a problem.buy what you like
Agreed for the most part all these tools will get the job done wether it be Dewalt, Milwaukee, Makita, and now even Rigid I run makita because thats what I started with years ago and it’s never failed me so why fix something that ain’t broken
That’s funny you say that my dad had bought I Dewalt brand drill one time and knowing we cooks don’t buy 💩 we buy quality tools not cheap stuff. An knowledge is key but that’s why when someone says you know what a craftsman is? Be quick an respond to say it’s a tool.
Always using DeWalt and that new impact drill is my favourite works perfect never Problems
Thanks for the video
I’m glad it’s working for you
Very interesting video. Is this one (DEWALT DCF787N-XJ 18V LI-ION XR BRUSHLESS CORDLESS IMPACT DRIVER) the same as you recommended? Thank you for any info on this.
I still have my 18 v impact driver. Bought it 6 years ago . Love it!
I just subscribed. Nice channel. I like the way you present things. I’ve watched 3 videos and already learned a few things.
Thank you for that!!!!!
Ya hes got a great thing going love the short into and all your knowledge that you give the into in a great TIMELY fashion....unlike some youtubers
Btw VCG construction great job 👌 keep it up. Cool gang here
Thanks Cuz we appreciate it!!
I recently purchased atomic 1/2 impact wrench and dcf850 , both broke so soon. The dcf850 broke on day 1. Is the DCF787 still the best option? This video and analysis was from a while back. Just wanted to know if anything better came out yet. I appreciate the work you guys put in I'm just going to search for 787's online and buy that one if you say so..
Hi does dewalt do any kind of storage device to hold batteries, I've looked in all the usual hardware shops but no luck, thanks in advance 👍
Well looks like the 885, 886 and 787 which I believe is a relabled 886 is continuing to be Dewalts best impacts. Glad I have 2 of those 3 and will pass on the rest. Thanks for the info Vince! 😊
As long as they keep making you money Dr!!
I've had the DeWalt 20v Atomic impact driver for several years now, no complaints here, I got it "used" from Amazon as a tool only purchase for 80 bucks, I also have the cheap DeWalt 20v 6.5" circular saw, all my other Dewalt tools are 18v adapted to 20v batteries, I just a casual DIYer but I've never had a DeWalt tool fail, I'm too deeply invested in DeWalt to change brands now LOL
Does anyone know when the Dewalts 20v Max XR Multitool sale becomes active? I still don't see this item on the floor at my local lowes.
Hi man I looking to buy impact wrench between Millwaukee and DeWalt Which one is better
I love my 787. I have not used the others yet but I am happy I chose the 787.
I love how u answer your own question with such emphasis
recently got a Dewalt combo set with the impact driver.
Just today I was using 3" #8 screws tacking up 2x4s to seal gaps for insulating a shed.
After getting stuck several times and stripping a driver bit,
I got my old craftsman impact out and finished the job in 1/2 time with no trouble.
This is the last working drill I have from my 10 yr old craftsman 19.2 V sets.
Can't get parts to fix the craftsmans, hence the Dewalt purchase.
The dewalt doesn't have fine control on startup to keep the bit seated.
It is either too slow to turn the screw or too fast to keep the bit seated.
I imagine if I was putting up drywall it might be ok, but not for long screws in old 2x4.
Hi Vince! I am currently in need of a new Impact Driver .
I have a Porter cable impact and drill combo. Used every day for 5 years it died the other day treated me well. I want to buy American. Dewalt seems to be that company. I typically use the drill for Handyman work fixing decks and fences.
I’m in the $200 price range preferably with 2 Batteries. So in your opinion what impact drills should I consider.
The glaring error here is when you said "your friends contacted you". Well, let's face it, you have no friends.
Hes a master mason he bangs the goat in washington dc they all FREEMASONS
Tomorrow at work I'll send you a video of it installing garage doors, 3 inch lags into studs and PT and different grades of metal. "Milwaukee 18v fuel impact "
Awesome!
Where can I buy the dcf787? It doesn’t seem to be available anymore.
My 885 has been going strong since around 2013. My 380 finally just kicked it. Same vintage. I'd say that's pretty reliable. Don't really care for brush-less other than the oscillating tool. I'm an electrician by the way and I use these tools everyday. The drill (985) and reciprocating saw get the hottest suppers.
I was looking at the "Atomic Drill" i contemplated on buying it as a combo kit. After reading the specs online I put it back on the shelf and walked away.
Jeez. Likes the sound of his own voice. Fell asleep watching this. Boring isn't the word.
Witch would you pick the 787 or the newer 888
I've had my 887 for a few years and it started having electronic problems after only a few months. I just put up with it until recently when I replaced it with the 809.
The trigger on the 809 feels a million times better than the 887. It's much smoother and way easier to control the speed. I haven't noticed much of a power difference but I also don't drive big screws very often.
I got my 809 on sale for $70 so for that price I think it's pretty good. It fits my needs
I install garage doors for fimble and I'll tell you what nothing beats the 18 V Milwaukee fuel impact. Straight constant power, smooth quite and sexy as hell
I'd like to see a TTR between the Dewalt Atomic drill/impact combo vs. Makita Sub-compact drill/impact combo. I own the Makita set & it's pretty sweet for the size
Yes i 2nd that
I have 2 Dewalt 20v XR items myself, but Dewalt's ATOMIC line....is it something like Craftsman's EVOLVE line? An attempt at something but not really allowed on the higher rungs of the ladder?
Thank you this video was very helpful.
I'm a huge fan of DeWalt, but you are right. The Atomic launch is a bust!
That’s funny all of my power tools are dewalt every single one of them still works really good and same with my dads tools except he had em a lot more longer and still working
chris mooney 3 months later on this comment but did you happen to notice all the Milwaukee tools in the background? Yea he isn’t going to say anything good about dewalt that could cost his sponsorship. Lol
Addison Estes yea i seen them lol some people just not bright lol dewalt always sold great tools I never had no problems with them
Dewalt's great stuff.
I work in construction and use cordless tools nearly exclusively. I switched to makita several years ago but my partner still uses dewalt. I have to say that atleast in my case the makitas far outlast the dewalt in reliability. We use the Makitas probably 10x as much and they still perform perfectly while we have had two newer brushless dewalt drills and a saw die on us, two smoked and one had the switch assembly die, twice. And dont get me started on the dewalt 60v chainsaw that smoked right out of the box. I had a makita drill and recip saw left out in the rain for two months on a job, got them back, charged the batteries, and they still work perfectly. I can definitely say that atleast with the newer tools, the makita just makes much more sense from a reliability point and quite often they just perform better too.
On a related note, the makita sub compacts are actually really freakin nice. I have the impact and recip saw. Unlike the dewalt the impact is actually much smaller in size and weight and has great performance. The impact will do 99.99% of things you throw at it, and its modes which dewalt lacks, are great for certain tasks like sheet metal screws etc. Gigantic lags, aka super high torque tasks, are clearly not what its meant for but most all else is not a prob. The recip saw has actually replaced my full size recip and I have yet to find a reason to ever go back. Its much lighter and the size is much easier to work with and the power is just as good.
How much power do you really need in an impact though? My 8 year old ridgid brushed impact will snap screws and smash pozy bits if you full send it. Maybe for the nuts and bolts but they aren't really designed for that anyway.
Why in the hell would an 18 volt tool be competing with 12 volt. If I want a 12 volt that’s what I’ll buy. I don’t understand the logic
Slim56 my understanding is why offer 12 volt at all with how small they can make 18 /20
@@jbstepchild well, if less power is less $, that's a good thing.
they even make 12v still?
Thanks for the heads up. When my two 18volt 825's die, I will trade brands.
Helpful, thanks 👍
Hi, I m from France. Good job
Thanks for advices. I want to buy DeWalt tools. Is it possible to choose the best tools from DeWalt? 🙏🏽👍🏽👌🏼
I know I’m biased, Milwaukee has proven reliability in my realm for a good many years, and I love nothing more than to poke fun at the die hard dewalt guys I work with when their stuff doesn’t stack up to mine... Having said that, though, we all rely on our tools. They are our money makers. I appreciate the real testing you’s guys display and everyone should know good facts before making these purchases... Money ain’t growing on trees anywhere around me. And even if there should be a bad tool Milwaukee happens to produce, I’d wanna know! You’s guys really are the best! I could care less about a failed dewalt tool, but since I’ve been following you’s guys I have been a blessing in my coworkers lives informing them not only about dewalt issues but the good things about some of them and offerings from other manufacturers. All in all, and my apologies for such a long winded comment, I am quite thankful to have come across your channel, and more so grateful that you guys really care about us to do it! Stay true VCG! - Mr. Magic.
You da magic man and we appreciate ya!!
Biased. You are biased.
Dany Heatley 👍
Good looking out bro. Thanks for the honest review.
Hey Vince can you please test the dewalt dcf886 i know its an older model but i you happen to get a hold of one or have one laying around, please test it!
Manuel Solian that’s a solid gun.
Great video. I love my 787. Thanks for the explanation!
I fell asleep and still can’t make it to the end to see what happened!
Test that against makita 18v sub compact impact
Nice video. Love the spec details. Impacts per minute is deceiving sometimes. More is not better. In air hammers, the less impacts mean a longer stroke and greater force. The more powerful tha air hammer, the less strikes per minute.
I have a dewalt 787 for 5 months now and love it. Great tool and looking to add Dewalt cordless angle grinder to the family
Seems like a hit or miss, Ive had all kinds of tools including these impacts and never had an issue with dewalt 🤷🏽♂️... meanwhile Milwaukee has broken down on me more then any other brand... by the way all these brands dewalt , Milwaukee etc.... none are made in the USA...
I’ve been trying to tell everyone. The 885 is the best impact they have ever made, mine is an absolute tank and still runs after plenty of wear and tear.
Spencer Dowdle Truth! They won’t test the 885 for some reason
Same hear has never let me down even when it's running hot
Vince just said in the video 787 was the best brushless impact has to offer and everybody knows the 885 is a tough brushed. But 887 and 888 is their top offerings
My 885 is an animal
Fed my 885 a hot supper more than a few times. Seems skookum enough for me
My 885 and 886 have been driving hundreds of big long construction SPAX screws into treated wood for a few years and they run like new still. Great tools.
Yes I've heard that the 885 & 886 are pretty much bulletproof
I own a DCF887 and primarily brought ot to remove lug nuts...big mistake. It wasn't built for that. It did however outperform my Black and Decker in the same class, by a landslide. I upgraded to the DCF 894 and I was both impressed and very pleased.
Really strange on dewalts part. I don’t see any reason for the atomic version at all. I’m team red. Have both gen 3 18volt impact and hammer drill and gen 2 12 volt, crazy amounts of power and small packages.
🇺🇸🇺🇸 Bravo and thank you for this review. I am currently in the market for a new DeWalt impact. 👍🏻👍🏻
Milwaukee has the better impact drill
Not saying dewalt is bad cuz they’re hammer drill is better
Hi can you help please , my impact driver led lights have gone off only one working, are thay fixable, Customer waiting Reply
Dang right we appreciate what u guys do. Thanks a bunch.
Thanks Gabriel, we appreciate it!
Why do I feel like I just sat through litigation for DeWalt cordless impact drivers? it was almost like a scene from my cousin Vinny!
Now that was funny! 🤣
The dcf885 impact driver is also a solid one even tho it's not brushless but it's awesome and reliable.
That’s what I’ve been hearing!!
@@VCGConstruction the dcf885 came with the dck420d2 4 combo kit which I paid 229$ brand new on eBay.. It was a steal!
@@jmg5155 Yep. The 885 is fine. I use mine heavily.
Dropped my XR off forty ft roof, left in rain for 2 days, used it as a hammer, still running strong 4 years later.
Hey man, would able to advise or any video for DEWALT DCP580B 20V MAX Brushless Planer. Unboxing, what blade to fit, blade replacement and how proper installation or replace. Thank you
