    refreshing to see an honest review, the aovo people can't be happy, but at least you're honest.

      I think they blocked me, but I don't want to tell people something is amazing when I don't belive that. If they are serious about being in the drone business, then hopefully they take some of this into consideration for their next drone(s).

    Did you have problems charging the battery? When I unboxed the drone and put it on the charger it has 1 single green light and 1 blinking light. When the battery is fully charged am I suppose to see 4 single none blinking lights?

    • @Milledge.Austin
      @Milledge.Austin  3 роки тому

      I reveived 2 batteries and one was always blinking just 1 light no matter how long I charged it for like yours, and the other I think would have 3 solid and the last light blinking. I just charged them overnight hoping they were good, but obviously that ended up being the least of my worries.

      And I also have a problem charging the controller it does not charge at all did you have that problem? Maybe I'm using the wrong brick to change I don't know I think I'll return it.

      @@arkansasboi5013 I would highly recommend returning it. Even if you get it in the air, you won't get good footage and the drone will not handle well. I would seriously consider a DJI Mini 2, DJI Mini SE, or check out EXO Drones. I really want to try their drones, but haven't yet. Autel has some amazing drones, too, but they can be expensive.

    Can you still fly the drone with no phone ? Will gps automatically kick in ?

      I won a contest on Instagram and they sent it to me. Decided to use it as a chance to test and compare to see what it could do.

    I would be very upset with that drone. The price is WAY too high. Video unstable and horrible color. Thanks for the honest review.

    • @Milledge.Austin
      @Milledge.Austin  3 роки тому +1

      For my price of free, it's about as expected. Like I said in another comment, I cut out a section for time where I said it seems like this is a drone made by a company that mass produces various versions of the same drone, and then sells them to companies who want to get into the drone game without developing their own equipment. There were some interesting color profiles that could be switched to, but it felt way more like a Snapchat or Instagram filter than for a drone. I do agree, though, for the price I found it on Amazon for, I would expect a lot better quality, and a lot better flying experience.

    i love my mini 2. sucks though because once you fly with a drone with 3 axis gimbe and features and range the 2 has, flying the aovo and any drones in its catagory just isnt fun

    • @Milledge.Austin
      @Milledge.Austin  3 роки тому

      Yeah, I have seen the Exo Text Drones advertised a lot and would like to try a couple of them out, but the Scout looks like a brick with no gimbal, so I doubt I would enjoy it. The 3-axis gimbal just makes such a huge difference.

    Aovo is also half the price! You get what you pay for. It’s not a bad drone

    • @Milledge.Austin
      @Milledge.Austin  3 роки тому

      It was very difficult to control. You certainly get what you pay for, I agree. I haven't flown a lot of other drones, but I feel like there are better options in that price range. Captain Drone has reviewed a bunch.

    For the range performance that drone will be the winner over the djj mini series, but for the camera quality, Dji wins 🙂

      Actually, even on the range the Aovo couldn't keep up. The controls were already sluggish at best close by, but it became even harder to handle only 100 feet in the air, still with line of sight. The Mini 2, I've only ever had connection issues once, and I had done something dumb by going well out of line of sight and around a bend of trees. Still managed to have enough range to get it back, but that was a pucker moment for sure.

      @@Quad8ightMix Have you tried checking out the DJI forums? You don't have to have a login, and there are a wide range of reasons like if you're using prop guards, it may recognize the change in it's own weight and the force it needs to lift off, if you recently switched over to iPhone from Android, a number of the phones have had issues caused by their updates or updates to the DJI Fly App. Hopefully it's something easy, and not a malfunction that requires you to send it in. And I hope this has been helpful.

    It's entry level....half the price of a dji...what did you really expect? This 8s not a really fair comparison.

    • @Milledge.Austin
      @Milledge.Austin  2 роки тому

      I honestly expected better, regardless of price and level. The Mini 2 is more of an entry level drone where this one is more a toy. And anything is up for comparison, especially if a company wishes to compete in the market.

      @@Milledge.Austin all true, but to be fair DJI is hard to beat. I will say maybe you got a bad camera because mine takes a great pic/video...the thing I found off is as the battery gets low the drone drifts alot and the battery doesn't last as long as advertised. To be honest I wouldn't buy another one...it's choppy when you turn, I'd buy another holy stone. Great video.

    • @Milledge.Austin
      @Milledge.Austin  2 роки тому

      @@philipjennings7062 they certainly are hard to beat. I wanted to try and find a couple decent drones for slightly lower prices to follow up on this to see if there's at least a manageable alternative. I think the website is Banggood.com that Captain Drone promotes, and they have some amazing prices. Holy Stone is one that I would love to try. EXO Drones has started to make some waves, too, but they have Hubsan making their drones for them. I think the biggest problem with this version of the Aovo is the 1 axis gimbal. Every little movement by the drone shows up in the footage, but if they were to just give a 2nd axis, I think that might have helped.

      When you get the Mini SE for just a few more dollars, why even consider this piece of garbage?

    • @Milledge.Austin
      @Milledge.Austin  2 роки тому

      @@RalseiGote69 i would definitely go with the SE over the Aovo. Now, Aovo does have a new drone out, but I doubt they'll be sending it to me to review. The SE has a better sensor, shoots in higher quality, but the biggest thing is the 3 axis gimbal instead of the 1 with the Aovo. But I wanted to see (and I still look at some sites from time to time for this) if there is a comparable entry-level drone that is cheaper, especially one that won't make someone want to chuck it in the trash and give up on flying drones.
