These mini drones are the future, especially in the UK! Buy 1 now. Infact buy 2 before they have a ce label and more restrictions put upon them. Course they are still worth buying in 2021, more so now than ever. Great video my man, cant believe how few subs you have! Onwards and upwards to you bro and all the best for the new year to you. (Bit early but what the hell!) See you around and in the comments buddy 👍 Edit: ps! How tall are you dude?! That mini looks smaller than a twinky in your hand! 😛😂👍
I've seen a few other companies come out in recent months with similar mini drones, and I'd love to get my hands on them and compare because you're right. They have opened the door so more people can have reasonable access to decent drones that give you very good quality footage.
@@Milledge.Austin the small autels look really interesting and tempting. Quite liked the look of the specs of the hubsan and the affordability of the fimi....
@@ragndroneman Captain Drone did a review of the Hubsan and loved it. I haven't had the chance to do more than watch videos on the Autel drones, but I hope to try one soon.
@@Milledge.Austin not sure if i trust captain drone! Young360 seemed to like it tho..... Not sure if hubsan have problems with horizon levelling or if they have similar updates to other drone manufacturers but their mini pro is definitely on my gps/radar! Been neglecting my mini 1 and 2 recently for the fpv but really wanna get back to them soon. 🤞😀👍
I’ve owned the DJI Mini 2 for about 6 months and couldn’t agree more with everything you said. This was probably one of the most comprehensive, yet concise Mini 2 reviews I’ve watched. Great job ! For everyone on the fence… Listen to this guy and just get one. You won’t regret it. It’s an amazing drone.
Thanks so much! I have seen a few negative reviews at times, but it always seems like the person expected more from the drone than should have been. Glad you have enjoyed your Mini 2!
For someone with just 75 subscribers i thought you did a great job ! .. Well spoken , to the point , and good information .. One of the best on this subject . Improve your audio and your video capability you have what it takes to get MANY more subscribers IMO:
I greatly appreciate it, John! I am definitely always trying to get better with both video and audio, but will freely admit audio is my weak point. But, I'm working on it and I appreciate the kind words!
Hi from London UK. Great video Thanks. I brought this drone last year my first ever drone, I got the Fly more Comb, your right its incredible I'm loving it!!
Thank you for this especially your points about “consumerism”. I, like many of us have fallen into the trap of searching for the perfect “thing”. That can become an illness which we can do without. I’ve subscribed because I’m looking for an aerial camera and you’ve made me think. A cinematographer once told me, “it’s not how great the video quality is that’s important, it’s the fact you have an aerial camera. Your production values have changed immeasurably right away”. Thanks again and I wish you the very best with your channel from the UK. Much love 💕
The Mini 2 has become an amazing value for the quality, especially with the impending release of the 3 (maybe, sometime, supposedly). And with recent firmware updates, you can now track people and objects, but you do have to use a third-party app, and the Mini 2 doesn't have obstacle avoidance, so you have to be careful. But yes, it's well worth the money.
You are the best informative mavic mini 2 channel on UA-cam! You explain all my questions without studder. And you do great editing! Keep up the good work
I always check my drones usually a day before going out for a scheduled session (when you put the batteries to charge). I strongly recommend checking all the stuff...from propellers to gimbals or other things.
Definitely agree I feel like sometimes we can get complacent or lazy and assume things will always be the way they are supposed to, but you can't be that way when dealing with any equipment, especially drones. The 4 times I have flown since, I have made extra sure to check everything, and also take the extra time to calibrate.
They're overall based in China (part of why some people don't like them), but I believe they have product already staged here in the U.S., so depending on what service you ordered it through, shouldn't be too long.
Absolutely! Im glad you’re already enjoying it. It’s still such a great drone, especially with how much it has come down in price since I made this review.
@@Milledge.Austin planning level my relaxation channel up by shooting my own nature videos..excited to use my mini 2 for this purpose! wish me luck! lol 😁
@@ultimatetranquility_HM good luck! There are a lot of gorgeous places to see via drone. One piece of advice, if your drone draws attention from birds and you feel they may attack, go straight up, not down. Just a good evasive maneuver to have in your back pocket.
I legit bought one a few weeks back. its my first ever drone and I REALLY like it.....simple to use, easy to fly, great video and with fly more 3 batteries.....love this thing!!
That's awesome! Yeah. I absolutely love that drone, and the 3 batteries make a huge difference. Another viewer recommended picking up 2 or 3 Mini 1 batteries. They're less expensive, but still fit. Just an idea.
I've had my Mini 2 for about 5 months now after upgrading from the Mini 1, and I really love it. I bought some ND filters but all they do is upset my gimbal, which is really annoying. The quality you get from the 4k camera is pretty amazing, I've had some really good results. I have to agree about the stability and position hold, it's very consistent even in the wind. For the money, it's the best you can buy.
@@Milledge.Austin Mine are the Skyreat ones, ND8 to ND64. When you fit one, the gimbal for some reason tilts up by about 10° every time. When you try to recentre the gimbal it just goes back back to 10° up again.
@@neilfoster814 That is so weird. Mine don't do that. I'm not the biggest fan of how they clip on, just don't feel as secure, but mine don't cause it to aim down.
I just ordered one and was on the fence because of the small amount of negative feedback but after watching your video and have decided to take the plunge. Thanks for a great video
There is always going to be some form of negative feedback on most things. But im glad you're taking the plunge on this. It's a great drone, easy to use, and I think you'll enjoy it.
That’s great! I haven’t had a chance to fly it the last few weeks, but I have a week of vacation coming up, so I will be logging some serious hours. Haha
Great video. You speak my mind. This drone surprised me when I first got it and it keeps doing so. I've had mine for eight months and still haven't reached its limits. Best purchase of 2021 by far. Subscribed to your channel too.
I bought mine used for £300 with the fly more package. I gotta say that its the best tool I have as a photographer. Sure its 12mp but you can make that work to get great footage. Trust me when I saw you won't regret it. Its also great to learn. Im probably stepping up to the DJI Mavic 3 Pro next year as I get my CofC loicence.
I absolutely love my Mini 2, and it really has been amazing. I have gotten some amazing video and photos from it, but I have upgraded to the Mavic 2 Pro with my eyes on upgrading to something even better eventually. But for people trying to get into drones, you cannot beat the cost-to-value. I think you will love the Mavic 3 Pro.
Nice overview. As a Mini early adopter, then a Mini 2 the day it was released, we can agree on everything. One extra...the firmware updates keep improving the overall experience as well. Nothing to nitpick about. It is the perfect consumer drone
See, I agree. Sure, every so often a firmware update is going to have a bug, but I unsubsidized from someone who every week had a video trashing DJI for this firmware update or that one. I've had no issues with mine from firmware.
Agree with you 100% Great vid. I have Mini 1. It’s good but often loses connection at not very far distance. I hear they fixed this on Mini 2 with OcuSync connection. 👍
OcuSync is the real deal. I have really tested the limits of that, and it is pretty darn strong, even through groves of trees and on other sides of buildings. I have seen a few people do comparisons, and the Mini 2 does so much better.
I’ve researched every drone under $500. I decided on the mini 2. I’m obsessed. Like you said, as long as you always do your preflight checks, you shouldn’t have any issues. I find the M2 easy to fly, easy to operate, easy to fix/modify, parts are cheap, and it’s so damn fun on sport mode 😂
Doing drone photography and videos is great stuff. The mini 2 SE has a pan and a 180 mode for taking pictures. The pan takes 6 pictures and stitches them together - in the camera. The 180 takes and stitches 9 shots.
The Mini 2 also does this, but also can do a 360 sphere. Not sure if the 2 SE has that, as well, since this changes constantly with firmware updates, but I do enjoy using some of these built-in features.
@@Milledge.Austin When guys do reviews, they never touch on the photography drones are capable of. I only know of those features on the mini 2 SE because I saw ONE reviewer cover them.
@@kodak_jack That's true. People don't really talk about the photography aspect for whatever reason. I personally use mine mostly for video even though I know the photos look good.
Thanks so much! Even now going on 2 years with it, I still love this. And with it being even less money now, I think it's a great entry-level drone to be able to get great footage.
@@Milledge.Austin I have an abandoned mental hospital near me which I watched them use drones for for some of the footage when filming for the newest season of Destination Fear and they showed me as it was flying and I was very impressed and it got me into looking. It seems this is the one for me to learn on before i spend big money later down the road once i get comfortable operating one and feeling out if its even right for me.
@@PapawsDadillacOEMplus absolutely! It's very easy to learn to fly, it's under the 250 grams mark so you can fly it without needing a license (although, the free TRUST exam is recommended just to help broaden knowledge of some basic drone laws for protection against people who may think we're using them to be peeping toms), and it gets amazing footage for such a small drone. Let me know if you have any issues or questions.
@@Milledge.Austin ill look into the exam you mentioned. It's always best to be knowledgeable like you said against noise coming your way. I appreciate that.
A must have for my Mini 2 ..was the flymore... PLUS another 3 Mini 1 batteries which are dirt cheap, less than $20 each on ebay. DO NOT fly in high wind gusts .. it can not over come a big gust, and will basically FLY OFF along with the wind trying to stay airport... had mine fly off at 45mph!!! with a big gust ... almost dipped into a lake... hit RTH, and it started coming back slowly!! Yippie.
You are very right. The Fly More Combo is a must, and it can handle light wind, but a blustery day, just better to keep it on the ground and not risk losing a few hundred bucks. Also, great to know about the Mini 1 batteries. Do you notice any difference in time of flight with those? And very glad your Mini 2 lived to fly another day.
ive been impressed with mine in strong winds. I put it up agains my mavic pro in the florida keys with 20mph wind and it performed on par with stability. it actually cut the wind better too. I just get weird gimbal glitches and does not repsond 100% with litchi waypoint missions. video is a little better in some situations. amazing drone for the money.
yep -me three... had mine for nearly a year and its the dogs bollox. ( Which, for those unfamiliar with the term, means really really good.) So much so that I have just purchased another one as a backup. If you are considering buying one -do it. You wont be disappointed and as Mr Austin says -get the Fly More Combo if you can... you will be glad you did...
"The Dogs Bollox." I have a new favorite term. Haha. Glad you agree, and I definitely would love to either get a second as a backup, or get an Air 2S to be my primary with this as the backup. Either way, not getting rid of my Mini 2 any time soon.
I have a Mavic Air 2 and wanted a little brother, so purchased the Mini 2 which is arriving in next day or two. Can I pair one Remote to both and just carry the one remote which will just work when I turn either of the drones on to fly?
After sometime the lock tight glue goes bad on the screws. Its good to replace with new screws after sometime or add new locktight to the screws. But overall the Mini 2 deserves a lot of respect
Yeah, now that I know better, it's something I will be checking a lot. And will definitely be ordering another set of props and screws so I can go ahead and replace them all with locktite added.
Very good insight into your 1 year ownership, great presentation. I own the DJI Mavic mini and love it, I can’t fault it at all. Subbed you and regards from the UK 🇬🇧.
In Australia 2 years past, I completed a 5 day course thru my employer, to obtain my commercial license, can’t agree more re the importance of pre flight inspection on the craft, my employer also has a dedicated company drone site for mission planning (live weather information, NOTAM alerts, post flight data capture for a history on the craft and batteries, mapping etc)checks, check, double check and enjoy your flight👍
I lost a Mini one that way the props like to back off overtime and in our cold location the heat and cold will allow it to happen faster. That is one of my 1st things as my preflight checks is to check every screw on my Mini 2. Great informative video very professional like. I gotta say after almost a year of having mine I have the same feelings. This is awesome little drone I've had it in all kinds of weather. The only reason I could see for upgrading is more flight time lol. Think after seeing this video I want to go fly to lol I think I just made your 200th sub.
i check my props before i take off every day.. I landed one time 2 weeks ago, and soon as the props stopped. One propellor fell off. Easy to just run the screw driver around. Takes less than a minute.
I just purchased my first DJI drone. I went with the Mini 2. I hope to be able to do my first flight with it this weekend. I have the Parrot Anafi and I love it. I hope I will feel the same with the Mini 2.
I hope you will feel the same, too! Parrot is one of those that I want to try out as a comparison, but I have loved my Mini 2 and the footage I continue to get.
I have a good collection of DJI drones and without any doubt the Mini 2 is the best Sub 250g drone you can buy, far less restrictions, , great flight time, camera, great price, great size , no,obstacle avoidance but you don’t need it, I would also recommend it all at long , regards
Glad you agree. I have my eyes set on the Air 2S eventually, hopefully in 2022. I would love to get the 3 Cine, but for what I need, the Air 2S is the next step up and would do everything I want at this time. Thanks for checking out my video!
Well said my friend, the 2 drones that I have and really love is of course the DJI Mini 2 and the old but trustful Parrot Anafi. Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷
Thanks for checking out my video. The Parrot Anafi looks like a fun drone. I definitely would love to expand my experiences with other drones like that one, and of course would love to fly in a gorgeous country like Greece!
Fantastic video, and in the best time possible, I am thinking of buy the mini 2 tomorrow in the black friday and you help me a lot in my decision. Thank you!
I, too, bought the Mini 2 when it first came out a little over a yr ago; absolutely fantastic and I always leave it in my trunk so I can fly as needed :) I still love it even I fly a lot less to date :) I look forward to Mini 3 :)
That's one of the great things about this drone, it doesn't take up a lot of space and can easily be part of someone's every day carry. I'm excited to see what the Mini 3 does, too.
To make it even easier on myself, I pull out the plug (which goes into the phone), while pulling out the phone holder/antennas at the same time with one hand. By doing so, I don't have to peel the plug out afterwards and get my finger between the antennas and plug.
Hi, even after 2 years since release, I've decided to buy Mini 2, just because of the reasons mentioned there. I had also Mini 3 Pro ordered, but then changed my mind. Is more like double price and personally, I am not sure, if I would use the full potential (I like more flying itself, than video post processing) vs money spent.
That's great! The Mini 2 Fly More Combo was on a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale for right at $500 last I saw. But yes, bang-for-buck, the Mini 2 is the better deal. The Mini 3 Pro is loaded with features similar to bigger drones, but the Mini 2 has been solid since its release. You can get beautiful footage off of it, it's easy to learn to fly, and it's close to half the price of a Mini 3 Pro. I think you'll love the Mini 2. I was just flying mine the other day. Need to fly it more.
Oh geeze! That sucks. I went from flying a Phantom 4 to the Mini 2 and loved it. Prices are great all around right now, but for the price, I still think the Mini 2 Fly More Combo is the best deal around.
Thanks for all your info, there is something though with tge sensors when it comes to the water, I once was in a large park in Montreal and had to manually override with the joysticks after cancellung the RTH, but seriously Iove this drone, I must say that I do calibrate every once in a while, and will remember to do what you said everytime I fly, cheer up for your videos.
Yeah, the bottom sensors with water does seem to be a bit of a problem with this drone and others, but otherwise it still does well. I have to continually remind myself to be careful when I fly over the Savannah River and some other bodies of water around here. Yes, the shot can be cool, but you do have to be careful and that visual line of sight really helps. Thanks for checking out the video!
Honestly if I were to recommend a drone, it would be the Mini's, from the Mavic Mini to the Mini 2, all 3 of them are amazing. The Mini 3 is still a good choice, but budget wise not many can really have. I have the Mini SE, it's a beauty when it flies, it might not have the fancy ocusync of the mini 2, but it sure handles those winds which makes up for it, it's a good choice in my opinion.
I would definitely agree. All 4 versions of the Mini (1, 2, SE, 3) are perfect for the average and even above average user. Would love to get my hands on an SE and 3 to test them out.
Thanks so much! Seeing the price points for the Mini 3 have me thinking more people may be up for snatching one of these up, but you also can't discount the reliability. Thanks for the subscribe!
Still love mine a year later, had some issues with winds (20 knots). Been able to match footage nicely to R.E.D for 1080p... Combo carry bag is nice and small as well.
Yeah, the small size is certainly susceptible to getting blown around due to higher winds, but it still handles some wind pretty well. And that is amazing to hear that the footage matches a R.E.D. pretty well. I haven't actually used the carry bag in a while, I just repurchased some slots in my camera bag.
For that one year using mini 2, did you purchase additional warranty? Thanks for sharing your experiences and insights flying mini 2. I thumbs up 👍 your blog!
I didn’t. I just went with whatever comes standard. After my one incident where I wrecked it earlier this year, I do now recommend the DJI Refresh package or whatever it’s called. Although in that case, I still would have had to either borrow or buy a new drone with how quickly I needed the turnaround.
I just got my first quadrocopter but not premium its a cheap deal but i am absolutly amazed for a starter drone its perfect and now watching this video i will buy this mini 2
What starter drone did you get? Very interested to compare other less expensive options if given the chance. But I do think you'll enjoy the Mini 2. It's an absolutely awesome drone.
@@RTXGamer894 It's interesting how many companies there are that are "making drones," or at least buying up this one or that one to get a piece of the quadcopter money pie.
@@Milledge.Austin yeah really but in my case this drone is for mini action like 10minutes in the air (if not crash) and 2hour charging... And that was my point about buying better drone 🤣😎
-- I too really enjoy the Mini 2. Great for what I do. Violating the law of the land here, and might urk some of you, but for what I do, I have to fly well out of visual range. And example: Observing power lines, transformers for companies. I don't do that personally, but the distances are similar. I find the Mini 2, out of visual range to be a great drone. If your new, out of visual range, having good altitude (I fly generally at 400 feet) but check your area FAA regs, and using the gps map system is a big winner. I don't always get to pick when I'm flying, so if it starts to rain, the map, sport mode get's me home quick. For the new people: Don't fly in the rain, ever. Don't even risk it. What the weather is doing where you are is different a mile away and 500 feet up. But as I said, if a company hires your company to observe for maintenance, and the drone is on their dime, sometimes you have to.
Wow. That is pretty awesome that you're able to endorse this drone for such a cool project/job. And yeH, flying in rain (or snow) is definitely not good.
I currently have the Mini 1 and I can see myself purchasing the 2 in the future. One thing I have not heard you mention the Wireless or Wired hardware to the mobile device and the user interface of the program of the ease / difficulty of use. Since the Mini 1 has major signal issues and while doing the research of Mini 2 and how that might have been resolved, I'm still waiting to make the purchase.
I don't have much experience with the Mini 1, but I have to say the Mini 2 has great signal reliability. I have flown through trees and had very little interference. I feel it's very easy to use. One of my favorite features is how it will send the footage directly to your phone, should you choose.
That is a great gift! I will say, make sure you research the local drone laws. Some countries can be very protective and finicky about who can fly where. But if you are able to fly, I hope you'll share that footage so I can see what you did with it!
@@Milledge.Austin no I hate to drop name right now as I’m actively seeking a full refund. But when I went to their social media page and left comments about product it was immediately deleted and the same when I left comments on there website. @@chuckstallions9267 I hate that you're having to go through that. I really hope you're able to get that resolved quickly, and hopefully they get things cleared up. I get not wanting there to be a negative view of your product, but if it's a bad product, other people need to know so they don't waste time and money buying it.
For most people, there really is no need. From what I have seen, the Mini 3 is nice and some of the added features are great, but the Mini 2 gets amazing footage in 4K, and it's easy to use almost anywhere.
Awsome video you have great knowledge. Thanks my son bought me one . Next spring I will hopefully fly it. I'm in a wheelchair so I'm waiting for his visit to help me. Thanks for sharing. I'm gonna share you out your awsome. God bless 🙏 stay safe hugs ❤️ Merry Christmas 🎄
I like mine a lot. The one big problem I have with it is the camera tilt. Seems like it is always tilted enough to make the horizon a little off. I have recalibrated the gimbal but that doesn't seem to help much. I can live with the camera tilt because she is such a great flyer.
I hate to hear that. I honestly haven't had any camera tilt in mine, but that would certainly be annoying to have to always zoom in a few points to then tilt it back. But, it's not impossible to overcome.
I agree its an amazingly capable drone..i got the flymore combo..but purchased in the last year 2 more batteries...for me 5 is perfect..can always have a good charging cycle while out in the car using the hub, with nd filters its perfect and with its low noise, easy to use anywhere..deals with wind really well..i also recommend using 1.4.4 for the app...its the last version that truely works with no glitches,no lag,..after 1.4.4 it gets bloated as dji added more drones so more software..it was never the same for android....but definatley put in latest firmware in the drone itself.. get one !!
I've thought about adding a couple of batteries because it doesn't hurt to have more power, for sure. And couldn't agree more with everything else you said.
I bought the mini one without care refresh @ time of purchase... Broke the camera gimbal & with my birthday in December & like the mini 2 just came out sooo... I've now got 6 batteries with care refresh also. Birds are my biggest threat now that I'm far betr experienced. Bird advise when gang mentality attacks, climb verticals fast if you want to stay airborne. I've been bird bummed 2 times, drone one crashed, never to fly again, mini two recovered & maintained flight. One camera blip on its approach was all the shot I got. Crows will come to you, probably sounds like a FLYnKiLo9r weed eater, not a any pilots best interest to wait & see who crashes!
@@keithstewart7514 I am always terrified of flying around birds. I was flying at a lake back in January and a bald eagle took off and began flying overhead. I don't know that he/she saw the drone, but I immediately "dropped to the deck" below the line of trees and hovered it while watching. Never made a move towards where I had the drone, but I am always scanning for birds of any size.
Break review thanks for hat👍 Just wondering whether you have had any Horizon issues,as lots have from what I read... as have I. If so do you know of a fix!? Thx.
I see this question a lot, but I honestly haven't had too many issues with it. The main times I've noticed it is in higher wind situations or sports mode (obviously). I guess I've been pretty lucky that mine hasn't been affected by that. It looks like the best option is to do a series of recalibrations on a flat surface, including the gimbal and RC.
I think you would really enjoy having your own. You can always borrow mine (or buy it for the price of an Air 2S 🤣🤣). But yes. It's an awesome tool and perfect for someone wanting quality video footage on a budget.
You did a great job on this video. I’ve been looking at these and I think you sold me on them. I had a DJI spark and loved it till I didn’t get the battery snapped all the way in while trying to film a fishing video and it disconnected and fell in the lake. I am wondering how well they will work with my s20 ultra.?
Thanks! Even with the Mini 3 series coming out, I think this is still an amazing deal and a great drone. As for working with your S20 Ultra, I would think it would work well. The phone holder has plenty of room, comes with several types of connectors, and as long as the firmware is all updated, should be good to go.
I have honestly been rocking the stock ones, still. Other than the one incident where the one had the screw back off and fly away, I haven't had a need to change out my props for something more durable, but since you ask... now I'm interested to see if I can test a couple of the aftermarket ones. I know there are Master Airscrew Stealths that are supposed to be quieter. Not sure if they are better or more durable. I will say, the price difference is interesting in that the ones I am currently looking at on Amazon for a possible test cost $17 or so for one set of 4, whereas other sets of the stock, OEM props cost about the same for 8 sets of 4. I think I'll see if I can figure out some testing to do on props and will let you know if you're interested.
True that the loudest are the most negative. I'm also on a FB group for insta360 X2 and people are breaking lenses, telling that the firmware makes it worse etc. I have had mine since release and it's never been faulty. With any thing else in this world it's all about common sense. One thing I will say though is that DJi could up their game for Android users .
I have really wanted to try the X2. I think with those 360 action cameras give some people a false-sense of security that they can just bang it around like an older GoPro in its case. They don't realize that the lens is exposed and fragile, and the firmware issue is definitely a case of people wanting to complain. A lot goes into software development, and there are tons of way code could go wrong, and there's always the chance someone could get one of the few faulty devices. Doesn't mean the company is bad.
@@Milledge.Austin true, well it is sturdy and waterproof, but Common sense knows the lenses are exposed, so you are able to buy a case for it so no problems. Im considering selling mine, however, it really fun to have at times. And the image quality is very good. I would get the new Insta360 one rs that's out if I didn't have the one X2 .
The Mini 2 SE might be a little different. The SE line tends to not do 4K, I believe it tops out at 2.7K? Now, 4K isn’t a necessity, but just as a heads up.
Hey, I just subscribed to your channel.. I found your review very informative.. as I just got the mini2.. I do have a bit of photo/video experience but not with drone equipment.. what brand of nd/pl filters would you recommend..
That's awesome! Thank you for subscribing and for the comment. I am using Skyreat MD filters. They just clip on the camera and have been great. I have the 6-pack (CPL, UV, ND8, ND16, ND32, ND64): a.co/d/1Jzrm2C
Good job man I’m curious what the mini 3 that comes out in a couple months will do! I really want a drone to up the production value of my fishing videos
Thanks. And same. I'm very curious what they are going to put in the Mini 3 and what its features will include because the bar set by the 2 is pretty high for such a small drone.
That is awesome! If this is your first drone, I don't think you'll be disappointed, and even if it's your 2nd or 3rd, I think it will add a nice, easy-to-use in just about any situation option to your arsenal.
@@laurencefegan1875 Not that I'm aware of. I have a Galaxy S9 and am running the latest software as far as I know, but I've had the app downloaded for over a year now.
Yes to both. I believe from the factory it comes with a form of loctite. Obviously not the good kind, but it does have something on there, but I think having that on there would help. And DJI is always updating their firmware, so a Galaxy S21 should work. I see comments and threads all the time with people using everything from slightly older phones to the newest and even tablets.
@Milledge Austin Great! Thanks so much for your reply. Going to order my Mini 2 fly more package today. A lot of the decision was made from watching your videos. Keep up the great work 👍
@@MikeHunt-wx4wk Glad I could help. I would love to get my hands on a Mini 3 Pro, but I am still so happy with the Mini 2 that I would rather spend the money on other things since I have that.
@Milledge Austin I agree with you. The Mini Pro 3 is very tempting. The Mini 2 will be my first drone, and the fly more package well thats just a ridiculously low price for what I'll get.
@@MikeHunt-wx4wk that’s the biggest thing that sets it apart. It has become such a bargain for a great drone. I know you’re going to love it and how easy it is to learn to fly it.
I don't feel like the batteries have dropped off too much. I don't use them every week, but I feel like every time I do use it, I get a solid 20-30 minutes in the air. It of course also depends a little on the weather, but it's not like some devices I have used where after a few months you see a noticeable drop-off on battery life.
@@Milledge.Austin Thanks a lot. This was my prime concern about this drone. I have used a Eachine drone before but the battery lost its life in a few months. Now I am thinking of mini 2.
@@priyabratasadhukhan6435 Happy to help! One of the great things about the Mini 2 is it can use the original Mini 1 batteries, too. Which I think are a little less expensive. But no, I haven't seen a noticeable fall off in my 3 original batteries for the Mini 2.
The mini 2 have been in my bucket list since months, but I just can't stop wondering when dji will releases the new mini 3? The mini 2 have been in the market for a solid year now, so it is still reasonable to buy the mini 2 right now? Or perhaps should I wait for a couple months for the new mini 3? Btw your video is very informative and great 🙂
I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, that's the risk you always run with buying any piece of tech. I haven't heard anything about when a Mini 3 will be released, but you have to think it will come eventually with how popular and strong that level has been. I know I have been seeing some issues pop up with the Mavic 3 line, so maybe once they roll out the firmware updates after the new year, they will announce something. If you can hold on, maybe hang out until January to see if something gets announced, but if you decide to go ahead with the Mini 2, you can't go wrong. It is well worth even the current price.
@@Milledge.Austin Thanks for the feedback. Just bought a used Mini Se FMC for $280 usd. This is my first time owning a drone and I really loving it! I want to get the feeling of flying a drone without burning a hole in my pocket. 'm gonna fully utilized this small drone and learn how to do aerial photograph till the new Mini 3 came out. When the Mini 3 came out, I can easily sell back this drone and role back the money for the new Mini 3. Thanks for your opinion and help, it relly helps me a lot. Love from Malaysia :)
@@MrHariz29 @ハリズハキム That is a great idea. These smaller drones are definitely easier to learn on, and that was a great way to look at things I hope you share some of your footage as you get comfortable with it!
That's a good question that I haven't dealt with. I have only used RTH once to make sure it worked as advertised, but I will try this out tomorrow and see what kind of answer I can get for you.
Nice and informative review - I’ve had a mini 2 for a while and would agree it’s an awesome little drone - never had an issue (except one which was my bad and I came off worse than the mini 2 - those props can cut) great tip about the props - liked and subbed
If a drone have low battery than better stay in normal, as its more efficient, In Sport battery will drain way faster. In normal you will cover bigger distance than in Sport.
Definitely good to know. I rarely take mine out of Cine mode, and since I usually also return home before the chime gets too frantic, I've only used the sport mode twice. But thanks for the input!
Absolutely correct... Simple physics law, speed does not comes for free... faster rpm's faster battery drain. It is concerning how many people are lacking in basic education. Talking about user error caused by lack of knowledge 💁♂️
Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪 As a photo entusiast that like taking photos with iPhones and systemcameras i have now bought a budget drone for 150 dollars to practice with, however a Dji would be the NeXT model once i have practiced enough, is Mini 2 fly combo one that you can recommend for beginners??
Absolutely! It’s so easy to fly, and yet it takes amazing photos and videos. You cannot go wrong with this drone, especially since it has come down in price so much.
(Bit early but what the hell!)
See you around and in the comments buddy 👍
Edit: ps!
And I'm 6' 6" (1.981 meters or so). Haha. It definitely looks smaller than it is.

Hi from London UK. Great video Thanks. I brought this drone last year my first ever drone, I got the Fly more Comb, your right its incredible I'm loving it!!
I’m glad you enjoy it! Thanks for the comment.
Keep up the good work
Thank you so much for the kind words.
Glad to hear you still like it . I just ordered one not sure where DJI ships from .
They're overall based in China (part of why some people don't like them), but I believe they have product already staged here in the U.S., so depending on what service you ordered it through, shouldn't be too long.
Just got mine last week and I'm so glad I decided to grab the Mini 2 as my first drone! thanks for the confirmation that I made the right decision!

I’ve had a mini 2 for getting on for a year now and it has been utterly fantastic.
Glad you agree and have enjoyed it!
What ND filters did you go with that are throwing your gimbal off? Very glad the rest of your experience with the Mini 2 has been good, though.

Haha
Hey mate … terrific video …best wishes from a mini 2 pilot 🎉
Thank you so much!
Great video. You speak my mind. This drone surprised me when I first got it and it keeps doing so. I've had mine for eight months and still haven't reached its limits. Best purchase of 2021 by far. Subscribed to your channel too.
Glad you agree. It really is an amazing piece of technology, and it can do so much.
Exactly! Especially now that it’s almost 3 years old, there are plenty of parts and it gets great footage for such a small drone.
I’ve been using my mini 2 for about a year now if not just just over one year and it is fabulous
Very happy to hear that.

Solid review for someone who has never flown a drone and was looking to research into buying my first one. Thank you!

Haha, thanks! Hope I can meet those expectations.
ive been impressed with mine in strong winds. I put it up agains my mavic pro in the florida keys with 20mph wind and it performed on par with stability. it actually cut the wind better too. I just get weird gimbal glitches and does not repsond 100% with litchi waypoint missions. video is a little better in some situations. amazing drone for the money.
Still one of my favorite drones and overall purchases in the last few years.
yep -me three... had mine for nearly a year and its the dogs bollox.
I believe so, yes. I have seen a couple videos on this, and it looks like you should be able to do that with little to no problem.
Thanks for that buddy and will have a play when getting other drone.
Heck yeah. I need to break my drones back out again. Been too long without flying.

You definitely want to check, check, and recheck everything. Even with something like a mini drone, too much can go wrong.
I have the same one
I'm waiting for one as I write. I started to give you props for the video, but the only props I have are for my old BeBop 2...😉
😂 Good one. But seriously, did you have a BeBop 2? What was flying that like?
I lost a Mini one that way the props like to back off overtime and in our cold location the heat and cold will allow it to happen faster. That is one of my 1st things as my preflight checks is to check every screw on my Mini 2. Great informative video very professional like. I gotta say after almost a year of having mine I have the same feelings. This is awesome little drone I've had it in all kinds of weather. The only reason I could see for upgrading is more flight time lol. Think after seeing this video I want to go fly to lol I think I just made your 200th sub.
That's awesome! I greatly appreciate everything. And yeah, checking all the prop screws is now part of my pre-flight routine.
i check my props before i take off every day.. I landed one time 2 weeks ago, and soon as the props stopped. One propellor fell off. Easy to just run the screw driver around. Takes less than a minute.
@@tedbundy2797 it's definitely part of my pre-flight check every time now.

That's awesome! Definitely get the Fly More Combo. You won't be sorry, and the footage is awesome. I always record in 4K at 30 fps. Happy flying!
Hope you pulled the trigger......
If not make sure you catch 1 in the new year sales 👍
That's a pretty handy trick.
Quality content. Refreshing to see! Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate it!
Hi,
even after 2 years since release, I've decided to buy Mini 2, just because of the reasons mentioned there.
I think somebody jammed my DJI phatom 3, now I need a new one. Thanks for the video.
Oh geeze! That sucks. I went from flying a Phantom 4 to the Mini 2 and loved it. Prices are great all around right now, but for the price, I still think the Mini 2 Fly More Combo is the best deal around.
@@Milledge.Austin I will check it out. Thanks :)
Excellent overview. You deserve more subscribers, and count me in on that.
Thank you so much, Joseph.
Soo underrated. I agree with everything you say. Keep it up! subscribed 😊
Just got mine today, its amazing
Just wait. As you fly it more, it gets even better. Gla dyoure enjoying it, though!

@@Milledge.Austin dont know company but its a 30 € from Germany it have wi fi and 2 mp camera but fly controls too complicated 🤣
Where can i find gigs like yours?
Awesome video, very informative 👏🏼 my wife just got it for me for as my early Birthday/Christmas gift 😀 can't wait to try it in Cozumel!

@@Milledge.Austin no I hate to drop name right now as I’m actively seeking a full refund. But when I went to their social media page and left comments about product it was immediately deleted and the same when I left comments on there website. As soon as I get my refund I will tell you the entire experience with this company for your viewer’s as well. I’m still waiting on everything to charge up
@@chuckstallions9267 I hate that you're having to go through that. I really hope you're able to get that resolved quickly, and hopefully they get things cleared up. I get not wanting there to be a negative view of your product, but if it's a bad product, other people need to know so they don't waste time and money buying it.
I own the dji mini2 and I would definitely buy it again without thinking about it.
Agreed. Great all-around drone that can be used by all sorts of people for a variety of uses. And it's so easy to enjoy.
Nice! I agree this drone is great. I've had it for a few years now.
It really is great with how easy to set up, use, and get great footage it is.
In 2023, Mini 2 still available at stores??? I try to find it from different shops to buy one but unfortunately there are no stock available there😢
Unfortunately, DJI has stopped carrying it with the Mini 3 line out now. But plenty of reputable used drones are out there as people upgrade.
Awesome video, thank you. I love my DJI Mini 2 as well.. great entry level drone however I have no plans to upgrade it.
For most people, there really is no need. From what I have seen, the Mini 3 is nice and some of the added features are great, but the Mini 2 gets amazing footage in 4K, and it's easy to use almost anywhere.
Thanks for video . Question / can we used Google DJI V2 FPV on DJI mini 2 ?
@@patrickkermarc6280 not at this time to my knowledge. Not sure how far they'll go with firmware updates to make some things cross compatible.
You're very welcome! That is one of the great things about flying drones, anybody can do it! I hope you enjoy it when you get to fly!
@@Milledge.Austin thanks my friend.. 🙏❤️
Didnt have money for the 3 so got this one about a week ago, awesome little drone
It really is! I would love a Mini 3 Pro or the Mavic 3, but that Mini 2 is such a great deal.
@@Milledge.Austin yea, specially now that the price went down due to the 3
I like mine a lot.
Break review thanks for hat👍
Just wondering whether you have had any Horizon issues,as lots have from what I read...
Awesome video, keep up the good work and thanks for your input on this done been reading alot about them.
Glad you found it informative. It's an awesome entry-level drone that really out performs what I feel an entry-level drone should do.
Look at all these comments. This is awesome. Now I want one.
Great video. Do you have a link to some durable props?
Just bought one mate combo pack £469 hope I don’t crash it lol cheers mate . Mark from Manchester uk 🇬🇧
@Mark Shorrock I don't want to jinx it, but they are very easy to learn how to fly. Great drone, and I really hope you'll enjoy it.
Definately the best drones to start out with, hope you enjoy it fella and we all get some good flying weather soon 🤞😀👍

Man, that's a detailed presentation! You cover almost everything about it. Good job.
Thanks so much!
thanks for the video bro, I will buy mini 2 se
The Mini 2 SE might be a little different. The SE line tends to not do 4K, I believe it tops out at 2.7K? Now, 4K isn’t a necessity, but just as a heads up.
A very good review i have the mini 2 as well i love it
Do you have a link to one of your favorite shots from it? I always enjoy seeing what other people have done with it.

Great review. Question would putting loctite blue on screws be a good idea, and will the controller work with a galaxy S21 smartphone?
Yes to both. I believe from the factory it comes with a form of loctite. Obviously not the good kind, but it does have something on there, but I think having that on there would help. And DJI is always updating their firmware, so a Galaxy S21 should work. I see comments and threads all the time with people using everything from slightly older phones to the newest and even tablets.
@Milledge Austin
Great!
@Milledge Austin
I agree with you.
Good job on this very good content.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the detailed video. How is the battery life after using it for a year? Does it decay too much?
@@Milledge.Austin Does the mini battery gives same flying time with mini 2? If so then it would be a steal deal.
@@priyabratasadhukhan6435 I don't believe so. I think it's a little bit shorter, but still a deal.

Thanks for tuning in!
I love 4X zoom & occusync2 is so reliable without image delay or blips. A must is yogi range extenders regardless of the variables. ,
@@Milledge.Austin Thanks for the feedback. Question? On the RTH can you shut off the noise bell by tapping the start button. I know on my Mavic Pro you could. Thank you for sharing your video.
That's a good question that I haven't dealt with. I have only used RTH once to make sure it worked as advertised, but I will try this out tomorrow and see what kind of answer I can get for you.
It's not the harsh violent inspiring tone like the mini one controller, which I didn't like.
Nice and informative review - I’ve had a mini 2 for a while and would agree it’s an awesome little drone - never had an issue (except one which was my bad and I came off worse than the mini 2 - those props can cut) great tip about the props - liked and subbed
I attempted to catch the drone once and mis-judged and yeah, those blades can cut pretty well. I appreciate the comment and sub!
@@Milledge.Austin hope it wasn’t too bad - mine was just a mere flesh wound and dented ego - zero sympathy from my wife 😂
@@MrHitman1966 Twas but a flesh wound. Haha And yeah, absolutely no sympathy from mine, either.
When battery drops below 40%, ull be in normal mode by default
