- Hi SilverSneakers friends! Do you like to dance? Well dancing can be great fun, but it also provides other benefits for your body and mind, including improved posture, balance, increased cardiovascular endurance, and reduces joint pain. Dancing is a brain booster improving cognitive skills and reaction times. Today we've got a fun 20-minute dance workout and we think you're going like it!

Have you tried muting the video and playing your own music? Jane Fonda has some workouts very similar to this with some music you might enjoy.

I am 84 years old and I have to keep taking a break. First day was 5 breaks, only 4 today.

I just want to say that I loved this workout and I’m not a senior. I think if you are new to exercise or getting back into it, these are great ways to start. Don’t be put off by it being called for seniors because starting out with the basics is great for anyone starting out.

I'm 68 and although used to be fit and out swing dancing several nights a week but have been lazy for the last 10 yrs. Feeling lousy I came looking for motivation. This is a great "starter" routine for anyone! Pretty much just a warmup for me but at least it's getting me out of my chair, lol.
Agree. Motivation is key for this 65 year old!

Thanks for this fantastic workout. I'm all of 80 years old and God has been good to me. I don't get a chance to walk so this workout is good for me. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Make it to 83 and you have a 50% chance of making it to 90. Make it to 90 and you have a 25% chance of making it to 100. Then it's 5 to 10% each year. Not bad I say. I proudly made it to 70. You hit 80! (Then I think you turn 100).

Im young, but after an illness made me sedentary for 3 years, my cardio is at the bottom. Every single dance routine I tried was just too tough or fast for me, but this one seems to be the perfect beginner workout for me! It also helps that you're so sweet and fun! 😊

On the video, go to Settings and adjust the Normal speed below Normal, like .75x, .5x, .25x; or if you want the video faster..problem solved
. I do this if I am copying a text on the videos for instant reading instead of sharing. Or if they talk so fast, can't catch up with the conversation. 😊😊😊
Or you can just make up your own steps as long as you follow her beat so you can make your heart race faster. It's not an exercise if you can't make your heart beat faster

Hi I've been a member for about 3 yrs now. On occasion I'd go in and exercise with the instructor, but I was not taking full advantage of this program. Always tired or busy, even though I'm retired. On vacation with my son and learned that I need to take time for self care. So when I go back home, that's going to be 2nd priority. Thank you so much for this program. On occasion I make it out to the gym, but not often. Again thank you. Much appreciated. 🙏

This was very good for my 73 year old body. Easy to follow and decent music. It was a great way to end my workout of the day.
My mum and I have recently started exercising together, but as she's 68 and recovering from knee surgery and I'm quite overweight, we've been struggling to find routines that suit us both. This is perfect for us! Thank you so much for posting this. :D

Thank you for the great workout. I'm totally uncoordinated following dance steps, and it must be quite comical to watch me going at it, but it was great fun! I actually turned off the sound here and plugged into headphones with good dance music on, and it's such an improvement over just doing it solo. I'm a multi-tasker, and it gets boring just dancing around on my own. Following along actually gives you something to do, and focus on, instead of the time.

First time here, I’m not quite a senior just yet 55 on the 26th of this month. Definitely was a workout for me. I didn’t actually make it the full 20 minutes. I haven’t worked out in about 30 years due to health issues. I’m actually doing this with a bum knee. MRI on Monday. But today I started a new health journey. Doing Keto and taking some organic supplements to help me lose weight. Hopefully I will be able to make it all the way through soon. Thank you for these videos. I think I’m really going to like them. I’m also doing chair yoga.

Hey there - good for you getting started. Just a tip that there are chiropractors and physical therapists on youtube who teach exercises to strengthen knees. My favorites are Dr.John Bergman, and Bob & Brad :)
Don't eat meat, dairy or sugar and you'll feel great in a week 😉👍 The food, drug and medical/pharmaceuticals industries have been slowly poisoning us/ k I l l I n g us since 1930!

First day here...feeling mostly uncoordinated but will try again tomorrow. I didn't find the 20 minutes over-taxing...but can definitely approve on my moves. I have difficulty coordinating hand moves with feet moves and doing them "backwards" from what the instructor is doing. I'm guessing I will improve. So glad to be able to find these videos!

Don't know about all of you people, but if you remember the 70s & '80s exercise trends, dance aerobics was IT. We had choreography set to match the fun, danceable songs. When I heard them playing in the grocery store it made me want to do my aerobics steps. That's what I'm looking for, something that makes me want to do aerobic dance in the grocery store. Surely the copyright on those 50-year-old songs is over by now. Yes?

I had my second hip replacement op in 9 months eight weeks ago, I feel unfit and fat. I haven't exercised for years, after being ultra fit in my youth. I am so glad I discovered this site today, I managed to do this workout all the way through, it's brilliant, and I will keep on doing it. Thank you!

Hi, this is David's wife Frances. I really appreciate your dance steps. Graceful, not harsh, but works! I've been doing a 15 minute workout exercise that makes me lose weight (I'm petite and slim). I don't need to lose a lot of weight but this one works all my muscles, blood circulation. And this is all I need to do everyday. Really great for seniors who still enjoy dancing gracefully!!! Thank you greatly!!! I also appreciate the stretches at the end! Some workouts don't have it. Thanks again. I just turned 59 and enjoying life!!!

I’m 41 and just did this workout. She really gets ya in the end with those mambos and salsas!! I know I’m not senior age, but I do have a slight back injury so I have to take it more easy than regular workouts.

Hello, I'm 61 and have problems with my left shoulder and my right hip. I see a physiotherapist for more than 2 months and do exercises at home 2 times a day. My goal is doing trails again, about 10 to 15 kms with my friends.
I found your channel yesterday and right now did the whole routine. That's for me ! Sport by dancing is a great idea, I love dance.

I want to learn to dance to get into better shape. I can do aerobics just fine, but this seems harder. I think if it was slowed down & broken down step by step, I could get it better. I will try to look for videos like that, and then come back to this, it looks like a lot of fun and seems to be a great workout.

5:55 I was literally a disco queen back in the day (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth).😂 I would dance six or more hours straight! Of course I was over 20 years younger, and didn’t have a broken down bod. 😬
