This format is incredibly helpful. One thing you did early in the video is you had said what a particular Spit pilot should have done to avoid the disadvantaged fight that he would soon be stuck in. That type of commentary is also very helpful for those of us who are likely going to be in those situations more often as beginners.
If I may make a request/suggestion, one thing that I know would help new players (and couldn't hurt all the rest of us on your server... ) would be a video showing us what to look for and walking us through your target ID process from the perspective of a few engagements. Something as simple as when you said "I just noticed he had stripes here" is an important indicator that you probably don't even realize you're looking at, and new players would never think of. This is exactly the sort of video that helped and inspired me so much when I was new and just getting into warbirds (il2 in my case), and VERY nervous about taking the plunge into the deep waters of multiplayer! Thank you for this, and I very much enjoyed it!
Echoing the others, this is very helpful. I was on at the same time as you a few days back with the 109 on trial, and I pretty sure it was you saying "stop turning!" over the Comms. Makes sense now :)
First timer here. That was great. Really enjoyed this. Enjoyed the format. Enjoyed the commentary particularly how you tell us what you were thinking, how you thought on occasion you might have got some shots on and then flashback to show how you were right/wrong and what you might have done in their position. Really insightful. Thanks.
Hi Phil , I really like this sort of format . The talk through of your processes is very informative and the tips/tactic are extremely useful for a relative novice like myself .
Phil, this format is fantastic. As a mostly allied pilot, watching these is similar to watching a horror movie. The 109 is terrifying when flown cooly and collected; then the added commentary of your coolness in your craft is chilling. Love it!
Absolutely gorgeous scenery and I'm really appreciating the new commentary style and thought process for both sides, pointing out mistakes by adversaries etc. It's a bit spoiled by seal clubbing aspects of flying a late model 109 spacecraft against inferior and earlier period tech who have to surprise you or have a massive energy advantage to have a chance of winning/surviving, but that's DCS WW2 for the foreseeable future. A huge reason why I have avoided DCS WW2. Oh well, hopefully it gets updated to period appropriate tech if ED decides they really wanted to push WW2 content.
A very rare opinion that the k4 without mw50 is a spacecraft. Usually I have to put up with howls of dissatisfaction that the k4 is so handicapped in this configuration.
@@ziljanvega3879 I think there are some nice performane charts out there that show the mw50-free k4 is a lot closer to the mid 44 variants, which is why we use that configuration, until/ if we ever get a g6 or g14 from ED It is also slower than the p51 at all altitudes. Makes for a much more even fight.

Phil, you have to finish your main course if you want to get desert...no kill for anyone if he successfully puts it down in a field. ;-) Great vid. I think this format works really. YES..this format, with labels is appreciated! On monitor via playback, can not see a thing, as for bad Guys. Its a whole lot different, than when you are in game. I do love me some VR, in DCS. Best exercise I get most days! As a friend calls it.."Chair Yoga" lol I have some serious Neck Muscles now lol I havent played very long, so a question. How do you turn off "Tracers"? g'day phil im a noob, ive had dcs world for two weeks or so, i got it when the mozzie came out. im flying and taxiing pretty good, take off and landing are marginal but im getting up and down without killing myself now jsut not very pretty. as the crew chief says in the battle of brittian "its enough to make you weep" im having trouble with the spitfire and would appreciate your or anyone elses thoughts. specifically the first mission of the big show. at about the time your voice over starts saying to break the wrong way, my engine cuts out. the fuel pressure light comes on, the prop keeps spinning and if i go lower it starts again after a couple of minutes and revs up to 4k rpm when it kicks back in. but it leaves you heaps lower than the fight with 109's raining down on you. i thought it was the drop tank running out, tried dropping it heaps earlier and it still stalls. ive tried the tank pressure switch next to the primer handle because you are at 25,00 feet, still stalled. on the dcs world forums it says it could be coolant temp, so i tried to flick the radiator flap switch next to pilot heating switch still didnt work. ive also gone harder 2900rpm +12/15 boost in the climb to 25k feet, to try to keep the coolant temp higher ,still does it. ive even rewatched your video on it a couple of times to see if im doing something wrong and i cant see you doing anything different. reflected says in the dcs world forum post you can just skip it but its already an expensive enough game without skipping content you paid for. so i spose im asking more experienced players am i doing something wrong or is it the game or is it something about flying around at high altitudes in the spit that i dont know about? thanking you in advance adam
