Hey Greg! Thanks for watching "Do you find its easier than trackir in VR?": Yes and no - I don't have a lot of experience with TrackIR, however I would say that the big difference in my experience is between dogfighting and spotting when far away. I find it easier to spot and identify targets at longer distance while in TrackIR; however I find it a lot easier to dogfight in closer distances in VR as it feels very natural to manage your airplane and keep track of the bandit this way. "any tips on how with settings to make the enemy more visible": I haven't flown IL-2 in a good while (transferred over to DCS), however from what I remember I ended up needing to lower my resolution a little bit - as when I had my settings at high resolution in the headset, I did find it a lot more difficult to spot targets. It doesn't look as good; however the positive aspect is that you can crank up some of the prettier settings (4K textures, high resolution shadows, etc). Hopefully that helps!

Bear in mind I don’t believe anything short of Jesus and God can be perfect. So a 9.5 is as high as I go. And a 8 on my first video is hi praise.
While I will agree that it is a nicely done film and you are to be congratulated on it, I do have a few of questions to ask as maybe I misunderstood the lead in. Were the pilots of the German aircraft also real live people or AI? If they were live then they were not of the quality of the Spitfire pilots to be sure. The Spitfire pilots seemed to be military pilots of the present, either active or non active, based on the jargon used. Why were the German aircraft all flying solo or at most maybe two together? Pretty easy prey for a couple of squadrons to take them out. Although I am fimiliar with Operation Market Garden I am not a student of its finer pionts. What were the air statistics of that battle? If I recall correctly the allies lost Operation Market Garden. Some how I think it is probable that the German may have held their own in the battle. Just curious, no insult intended toward anyone. As I stated earlier, entertaining , nice film presentation. H.R.Weyer
Hi Harry - Thanks so much for watching; great questions as well. The German aircraft were also piloted by human players as well; however you are correct, and the best answer I would have is that we got lucky to catch a couple of aircraft on their own (I'm not sure whether they were with a Squadron and RTB or if they opted to go out solo). This gave us a great advantage in all of the scenarios in this film. Lastly, the Operation Market Garden aspect was the base 'scenario' for the flight (location and ground objectives) and was by no means meant to represent an accurate depiction on what air combat would have looked like during the operation. Thanks again and take care!
@@NeatoSims Thanks for answering my questions, it is most appreciated. Your answers cleared up my concerns and clarified the nature of this particular scenario. Somehow the lead in made me think this was an organized re- enactment, similar to the events I flew in, " ROF: The First Great Air War" . I was mistaken. Best regards, Harry Weyer
Thanks Euan - It was about $1500 back when I'd bought it so pretty expensive; however there are great headsets available now like the Reverb G2 and the Quest 2 that are much cheaper with a comparable resolution

VR: HP Reverb G2
Not bad, Feel the cinematic is killed by the lower right "cock"pit view of the camera man. Im here for whats on the screen not whos flying. Is there an edited version, without him there?
Thanks! Sadly there is not an edited version - The 'camera man' is there so that viewers can see the control inputs, not so that the camera man exists in the footage. Luckily, only about 5-10% of the screen is occupied by this and there is no important information behind it that is visible throughout the footage.
Hey there - Setup is the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle + flight stick with the Logitech rudder pedals. VR is the Vive Pro. Home made sim-pit with a Spitfire cockpit overlay I'd added in video editing (to give perspective on where I'm looking out of).

Just found this channel today and already give it a 8.

Best regards,
Harry Weyer
Sweet... how much for the VR setup?
Thanks Euan - It was about $1500 back when I'd bought it so pretty expensive; however there are great headsets available now like the Reverb G2 and the Quest 2 that are much cheaper with a comparable resolution
5 blade props, Super Marine?
Yessir - Supermarine Spitfire MkXIV
@@NeatoSims Bad to the bone!
No swastika on the vertical stabilizer of the German fighter?
Sadly no.. IL-2 does not allow swastikas for legal reasons
What IL-2 game is this? Cant be cliffs of dover because theres no VR in it.
This is from the IL-2 Great Battles (Scenario from the Battle of Bodenplatte DLC I believe)
the game is IL 2 Sturmovik? ? with VR?
You betcha!
@@NeatoSims what set up you have for this flight simulator??
@@frkop Back then I had:
PC: Ryzen 7800 CPU and a RTX 2070
Flight gear: Thrustmaster Warthog stick + throttle and Logitech rudder pedals
VR: HTC Vive Pro
Nowadays I have switched to:
PC: Ryzen 7800X3D with an RTX 3090
Flight gear: VKB Gunfighter III stick, Thrustmaster Warthog throttle (I love it and stuck with it), MFG Rudder pedals with the P-51 foot pedals + hydraulic damper, and a few other panels.
What set up is this
Hey there - Setup is the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle + flight stick with the Logitech rudder pedals. VR is the Vive Pro. Home made sim-pit with a Spitfire cockpit overlay I'd added in video editing (to give perspective on where I'm looking out of).
Mk.IX's?
Mk XIVs (audio from the Mk IXs from DCS though)
