I don't even know what Haircut should Arthur get and what he should have. I like Middle Parted and Slick Back though. I feel like Right Parted and Left Parted which also is just slightly different from each other by one part being longer than the other, look weird. Maybe Level 1 or Level 6 and 7. The others look messy.

The RDR1 John model actually looks like he has aged. Aged towards his appearance in the first game. It has that mix between 1899 John and 1911 John. Rockstar should really just hire some modders to do this shit for them because y'all know best.
Yes, and some people say that John is younger in epilogue than RDR1 that's why he looks different from both npc John and RDR1 John which I find super rediculous. NPC John and RDR1 John looks exactly like the same person in different age, but epilogue John looks different and Arthur-like. How does that make any sense lol

I never really noticed the difference between RDR2 John and RDR1 John when initially playing but having now played RDR1 and seen this video I can definitely say that R* fucked up John's face

@@teagueh Stop saying Rockstar got it right while they obviously didn't. Nobody forces you to like John or care about this mistake. But the mistake is right there, no matter if you can see it or wether you admit it or not.
The way I always saw it, John had more of a rounded face compared to Arthur; his jawline wasn't as defined, his forehead sloped slightly, his nose was a little short, his cheekbones didn't protrude much, and his eyebrows were angled slightly on the inner edge. He also had a fairly lanky build with narrowish shoulders. In other words, not a conventionally attractive man, but he had a dangerous look about him, like he'd lived a life which involved spilling blood. Now in the Epilogue, John has a lot of Arthur's features; his head is more squared, with a defined jawline, noticeable cheekbones, a straighter forehead and nose, and his eyebrows sit a bit more horizontally on his brow. His shoulders are broader too, another feature of Arthur's. In short, John looks too stocky and built now, when his thing was that he was a lanky fellow who might have been more suited to gunplay than fisticuffs.
And what's even more ridiculous about the model is that the facial animation looks more natural and realistic with the modded face than the vanilla one

@@Dr-Pepper15 The JMRP mod has replaced the right parted length 6 hair with a messy one and it's unremoveable, which I think is John's NPC hair when he was recovering from the wolf attack in the begining of the game if I remember correctly. Anyway, I tried it on consoles, it still seemed too long. I think the length of RDR1 hair is somewhere between length 5 and 6 in RDR2. If only the models are editable, then we'll probably have everything we want.
I love the aggressiveness of this video lol Although the major difference I see of NPC John and Epilogue John is the hair, I think the face model of both Johns are the same, as long as John is kept on the perfect/average weight But sadly, Rockstar don't give a damn about fixing the character model for John. The face textures are not so different. But if you look closely, John in epilogue has thicker neck like Arthur's, and his ears are lower than they should be, and at the exact postions like Arthur's do. Same goes for his jawline

A good big difference that I noticed was his mouth, before his mouth looked weird, like his toungue stook out and you couldn't really ever see his top teeth, I'm glad that was fixed. Everything was. We can play as John Marston now.

Those modders are some of the best I've seen in the RDR2 mod community. I've seen a lot of "RDR1 John" redone mods, but this is the only one I think that's done properly with good quality.
Nice job showcasing the mod. Great job with the side-by-side comparisons. You deserve more views for this. I was really little when the first game came out, so I can't say I feel the same nostalgia because I never really played the story of RDR1. I just shot up McFarlane's Ranch whenever my dad let me play. But this mod really looks good. I play on PS4 primarily, so I guess I'm stuck with John Morgan, which I'm fine with, but if I ever get it on PC, I'll definitely be getting the two mods, or at least just the John Marston restoration mod
I prefer the beta model personally as using the full RDR1 John feels too "artificial" if that makes sense. Usually on PC I just have JMRP and nothing else. It's enough for me as John isn't a copy of Arthur
I know what you mean by "artificial". I think it's because the RDR1 face design is too old, because it was made for a 2010 game. But he does look more badassary with his RDR1 face and it makes me feel like I'm playing a RDR1 remake sometimes : )

The epilogue face has the same eyes, nose and mouth as RDR1 and NPC John, but inaccurate neck, jawline and ear positions, that's one of the important things that make us look different doesn't it
In the comparisons you see how subtle the changes are but they make so much of a difference. And seeing RDR1 John trying ranching and going trying to go straight makes it feel more connected to the RDR1 story

I was always disappointed that RDR2 didn't just give us a direct graphical upgrade of RDR1 John; in that game he was a grizzled, beaten down ex-outlaw who wasn't (conventionally) attractive but still spoke in a courteous, soft spoken manner that could kill you in a second if the situation presses him to. In 1899, it was pretty excusable given that they're depicting a much younger John who's less hardened and mature. But when 1907 rolled around, they should've used a model akin to *GuiCORLEONEx794's* or the one in the "John Marston Restoration Project" to give us a truly convincing older John who's escaping his old life 4 years before the first game. I hope more people watch this video to get a look at what the definitive next-gen John Marston should've looked like and THANK YOU for uploading this video, kind sir. Watching this video, particularly during the ranch battle with the RDR1 face mod and Jim Milton Rides Again blaring in the background had me grinning pumping my fists in the air the whole time Lol.

My opinion is just like yours on the subject of how John should've been in the RDR2 epilogue. People keep saying that John is younger in the epilogue than in RDR1. for me the npc john is a perfect example of a redone character, yes he looks different because he's based on real human proportions while rdr1 john was handcrafted by a designer(and he did a great job for building something from scratch) beta epilogue John is an amazing model that would fit perfectly in the game(thanks to all the modders that brought him back) and..we don't talk about the current epilogue model

Don’t listen to the hate comments. You’re content entertains me and many others, it’s such a shame that rockstar messed up John in the epilogue, I especially realized how much they messed him up after playing and finishing the first RDR. RDR2 took rockstar 8 years to make, 1400+ employees on crunch time, and over 1000 voice actors and actresses (in which the game has roughly 500,000 voice lines in total)to make. RDR2 turned out to be a masterpiece that only few games can achieve the level of and in my opinion is the best game of all time, but after all of this rockstar doesn’t know how to make a proper face for John Marston and just plastered his face over Arthur’s character model and made the smallest of changes. It’s such a shame that after all the work that they had been through, and all of the blood, sweat, and tears that they had to endure, they just decide to focus on GTA online because they make more money from it. All the people in the comments hating on you are just people who get satisfied when when making others mad. For those people that are probably against the mods or this video: 1. Having played RDR1 or not, I don't think there is anybody who cares about this game, doesn't care about Arthur Morgan. We all love John, maybe prefer him than other characters, but that doesn't mean we don't love Arthur. 2. Maybe you never played RDR1 or you just are not really a fan of John Marston, or maybe you think John Marston in RDR2 epilogue looks just fine, I think it's completely 100% okay, just don't download the mod. But please keep in mind: It doesn't matter if you can tell the differences that epilogue John has compared to RDR2 NPC John and RDR1 John, the differences are surely there. You have every right to not care about them which is just an opinion that should be respected. But please respect the fact that there are still many of us who do get bothered by the differences, and these mods that made by those amazing people made us the epilogues better for us. 3. For those who say "there are so many amazing details in this game, why do you guys just can't stop giving a shit about a simple haircut or a guy's face?" Well, caring about John's look doesn't mean we don't appreciate the details that were put into the game. John's inaccurate face in RDR2 epilogue, never stopped me from loving the game, but it sure as shit bothered me for a long, long time. Different people care about different details, and this one is something we care. I'm sure many of you have other games you love, but there are some features in those games you just hate. 4. "Don't you know John is younger in RDR2? How could he look the same as RDR1 John? The mods don't make sense at all." I'd say, the mods, make COMPLETELY SENSE. Firstly, I'm 100% satisfied with the design of RDR2 NPC John, which definitely is younger as he should be, with accurate John Marston's features, which can be recognized immediately as John Marston. How every, the epilogue John is not accurate to either of the versions. Secondly, In the begining of RDR1, John just finished living his most happy 4 years of his whole life in the farm, but he already looked like that old, serious and angry. Why? Because he spent his life robbing people with a gang full of outlaws, moving their camp away because they were tailed by the laws for 20+ years. Then, the people he used to call brothers, left him for dead for multiple times before he finally decided to go sperate ways from them. Then, it was 8 years of running from the laws and haters who tried to kill him, and during this period of time, he had to take care of his wife and kid. And he survived all that. All this, happened before the epilogue started. If those things can't make him look deep and serious, I don't know what can. So yes, the mods make completely sense, and the vanilla look of epilogue John, doesn't make sense to me at all. 5. If RDR3's story is written the same way like RDR2, where you play as a new character in the main story, and we can see a young NPC Arthur who looks completely fine, then in the epilogue we get to play as Arthur. Just imagine if the playable Arthur has a lot of features of the new character, while the npc Arthur doesn't. I'd get pissed off again, and I'm sure many of you will. And also, let me put it this way: If John's face in RDR2 epilogue shouldn't be made such a big deal, what about changing Arthur's face and making him look more alike John in the next update? I wouldn't want that, because I love both characters, and they both should be themselves. 6. I love Rockstar, most of my good memories of video games were Rockstar's games. And their games have always been my preference to other company's game. I agree they're one of the best video game producers. But still, I don't want to simp them. I spent a lot of my money on their games, the least right I have, is to make some complaints or to point out the bad sides of the games that I don't like, especially when those bad points I point out are accurate. This video is not against anybody that's fine with how John look, but please be fine with us who are bothered by it as well : ) Anyway I'm not a professional game video maker, and I'm not planning to make money out of it. whats annoying is that they went through so much effort for john's story in the epilogue. that part of the game was like a love letter to us rdr1 fans. seeing abigail and john get married, build his house, dip his toes into farm work. it was fucking amazing. so i really don't understand why they butchered his appearance, when it was already perfect in the teaser screenshots they showed before the game released! why did some idiot at the studio decide to fuck him up? its so frustrating.
I love it! I love it so much. I wish I had red dead redemption on PC now. I honestly love NPC John so much more than the one we got. I have tried to recreate John’s face & hair so hard, tried to make his outfits accurate, but I just keep failing.
I get the frustration man. When I was playing on console I did the same trying to get the beard, haircut and outfit correct. I love the RDR1 version John Marston. He looks very handsome and original. The RDR2 version.... My first reaction was," who the hell is that? There's no way that's John!
Also a detail MANY miss is the fact that, in beechers hope, pronghorn ranch, and anywhere that John would be in a “camp” like environment, he walks and runs as Arthur. While out of these areas it’s obvious he’s back to running like John. I wish there was a mod that would fix that or rockstar. But I guess the default walk in camp is Arthur’s and they couldn’t be bothered
If they ditched the hair and heard growth system they could easily impliment it, its just that arthur already had it so they dont have much of a choice, when you consider there was 20 hours cut from the game it makes sense doesn't it?

Yes. To me, it's far better than American Venom, where Johns says "Tha... Than... Thank you" like a humble, submissive simp to Dutch. And it doesn't even make any sense. John beating up De. Santa I think, was Rockstar's original intention to tell people what young John Marston was like. But I never have seen John being even close to it in RDR2.

Some thoughts on why I think they ruined John in the second game: 1. The personality they gave John makes ZERO sense in RDR2. In the main story, John was one of the OG members in the gang. And like Bill says in RDR1, he was one of the guys in charge. But in RDR2, he wasn't. Besides, John keeps saying to people, that he was angry, violent and aggressive when he was a young man in the gang, but turns out, he was just a dumb kid who couldn't even form a complete sentence, getting drunk and teasing camp girls all the time instead. I never saw his violent, aggressive side as the young NPC John. 2. Okay now, let's jump to the begining of the epilogue. John after riding with the gangs for years of robbing people, gun fighting people, then being betrayed by his so called brothers. He then started to run from the laws, haters who tried to kill him, for 8 damn years, while he had to take care of his family. They didn't have a shelter or stable source of food, but he still managed to survive and took good care of his wife and kid. That would probably be the most stressful life he had lived during his whole life, as well as what he was going to experience in RDR1. Everything that John needs experience to become the man he is in RDR1, has already happened. But even at the last moment of the story, he still can't even talk smoothly. 3. In the begining of RDR1, he already looks that old and acts that mature and serious. But at this moment, he hasn't experienced anything in RDR1. His wife and kid were just taken away, maybe for a day or two? And he just finished living the most peaceful and happy 4 years in his whole life, which everything he did during the 4 years, was probably just feeding and brushing horses, taking out the trash, shoveling horse poops, milking cows. 4. Now, you tell me that the years of gang experiences, gun fighting with the laws and government agents, being betrayed by people he thought were his brothers, survived gun shot, managing to find his own family, taking them on the run, changing names and actually managing to survive while taking care of his wife and kid with the worried of being captured or killed without shelters for 8 years couldn't make him mature, calm and serious, but 4 years of ranching life can? Come on guys, check the story again PLEASE! 5. The model in RDR2 epilogue. 6. I played the first game years before the second one came out, and when I was playing the second, I found out there was something off about John. It's not because that John is young, it's because the young John is not supposed to be like this according to what we've learnt from RDR1. I love both games, and I agree RDR2's story is a well-written one. But I have to say, it's not a very good prequel. There are so many major mistakes that should NOT be ignored in the story writing, because many of those mistakes RUINED a lot of structures that were built in RDR1's story. So yeah, it's a great-written story, but not a very good prequel.
I disagree, John spent his entire life living the easy life, stealing what he needs and killing people who got in his way. He had no responsibility and he didnt want any - pushing Abigail and Jack away. Over the course of the game you can see John maturing slightly, but I can believe that he only matured fully with the responsibility of owning a ranch and putting in years of hard work. The personality and appearance change from ending of RDR2 to beginning in RDR1 isnt all that unbelievable.

Pause at 3:00 Actually since John just moved to beacher’s hope I wouldn’t be surprised if those last 4 years his face ended up how he looks in rdr 1 because I bet it must have been that dry in the desert because I have seen people lived in places like that before
I'd rather think that John's face is supposed to already look like that in the beginning of the epilogue, because of years of running from the laws, managing to feed himself and his family, changing names, no shelters, facing storms and other extreme weathers, people trying to rob or kill them. Dryness and farming work do get you age faster, but that much of pressure the family has been through is even a lot worse.

It was originally John Marston but the developers decided it was too obvious for john to look as john having the alias Jim Milton so why not change his face to Jim Milton at once?
While John has a defined jawline, you can easily tell compared to RDR1 his face is supposed to be rounder than Arthur. Guess they were too lazy or ran out of time to change the facial structure when switching perspectives in the epilogue.
Looks absolutely amazing, Vanilla John with a right parted fade lvl 7 can match well with his original hair in RDR1. (Just Shorter) I still have to criticize rockstar for randomly stretching Johns Face and giving him erupt and odd shoulders. His face is also way more skinny and he has less of a scowl, (Which he should have considering the epilogue is only a few years before the events of RDR1)

@@Bithe_Get I don't think the hair clips John's forehead through. But with some of the hats on, his forehead does clip through. But for me, as an RDR1 John fan, it's less buggy than the RDR2 epilogue's default John Morgan.
I love the John Marston Restroration Project look, with with the RDR1 face mod, it just looks off to me, like heres this guy who looks almost like a real person I could see, then he has PS3 textures on his face.

I don't even know what Haircut should Arthur get and what he should have. I like Middle Parted and Slick Back though. I feel like Right Parted and Left Parted which also is just slightly different from each other by one part being longer than the other, look weird. Maybe Level 1 or Level 6 and 7. The others look messy.

The RDR1 John model actually looks like he has aged. Aged towards his appearance in the first game. It has that mix between 1899 John and 1911 John. Rockstar should really just hire some modders to do this shit for them because y'all know best.

The way I always saw it, John had more of a rounded face compared to Arthur; his jawline wasn't as defined, his forehead sloped slightly, his nose was a little short, his cheekbones didn't protrude much, and his eyebrows were angled slightly on the inner edge. He also had a fairly lanky build with narrowish shoulders.
In other words, not a conventionally attractive man, but he had a dangerous look about him, like he'd lived a life which involved spilling blood.
Now in the Epilogue, John has a lot of Arthur's features; his head is more squared, with a defined jawline, noticeable cheekbones, a straighter forehead and nose, and his eyebrows sit a bit more horizontally on his brow. His shoulders are broader too, another feature of Arthur's. In short, John looks too stocky and built now, when his thing was that he was a lanky fellow who might have been more suited to gunplay than fisticuffs.
And what's even more ridiculous about the model is that the facial animation looks more natural and realistic with the modded face than the vanilla one

@@Dr-Pepper15 The JMRP mod has replaced the right parted length 6 hair with a messy one and it's unremoveable, which I think is John's NPC hair when he was recovering from the wolf attack in the begining of the game if I remember correctly. Anyway, I tried it on consoles, it still seemed too long. I think the length of RDR1 hair is somewhere between length 5 and 6 in RDR2. If only the models are editable, then we'll probably have everything we want.

The face textures are not so different. But if you look closely, John in epilogue has thicker neck like Arthur's, and his ears are lower than they should be, and at the exact postions like Arthur's do. Same goes for his jawline

A good big difference that I noticed was his mouth, before his mouth looked weird, like his toungue stook out and you couldn't really ever see his top teeth, I'm glad that was fixed. Everything was. We can play as John Marston now.

Those modders are some of the best I've seen in the RDR2 mod community. I've seen a lot of "RDR1 John" redone mods, but this is the only one I think that's done properly with good quality.

I was really little when the first game came out, so I can't say I feel the same nostalgia because I never really played the story of RDR1. I just shot up McFarlane's Ranch whenever my dad let me play. But this mod really looks good. I play on PS4 primarily, so I guess I'm stuck with John Morgan, which I'm fine with, but if I ever get it on PC, I'll definitely be getting the two mods, or at least just the John Marston restoration mod

I prefer the beta model personally as using the full RDR1 John feels too "artificial" if that makes sense. Usually on PC I just have JMRP and nothing else. It's enough for me as John isn't a copy of Arthur
I know what you mean by "artificial". I think it's because the RDR1 face design is too old, because it was made for a 2010 game. But he does look more badassary with his RDR1 face and it makes me feel like I'm playing a RDR1 remake sometimes : )

The epilogue face has the same eyes, nose and mouth as RDR1 and NPC John, but inaccurate neck, jawline and ear positions, that's one of the important things that make us look different doesn't it
RDR1 John looks Fantastic and Beta looks alright I could use either honestly.
This is absolutely beautiful, as soon as I can figure out how to reset all my rdr2 files, I'm going to install this.
In the comparisons you see how subtle the changes are but they make so much of a difference. And seeing RDR1 John trying ranching and going trying to go straight makes it feel more connected to the RDR1 story

I was always disappointed that RDR2 didn't just give us a direct graphical upgrade of RDR1 John; in that game he was a grizzled, beaten down ex-outlaw who wasn't (conventionally) attractive but still spoke in a courteous, soft spoken manner that could kill you in a second if the situation presses him to.
In 1899, it was pretty excusable given that they're depicting a much younger John who's less hardened and mature. But when 1907 rolled around, they should've used a model akin to *GuiCORLEONEx794's* or the one in the "John Marston Restoration Project" to give us a truly convincing older John who's escaping his old life 4 years before the first game.
I hope more people watch this video to get a look at what the definitive next-gen John Marston should've looked like and THANK YOU for uploading this video, kind sir. Watching this video, particularly during the ranch battle with the RDR1 face mod and Jim Milton Rides Again blaring in the background had me grinning pumping my fists in the air the whole time Lol.

Don’t listen to the hate comments. You’re content entertains me and many others, it’s such a shame that rockstar messed up John in the epilogue, I especially realized how much they messed him up after playing and finishing the first RDR. RDR2 took rockstar 8 years to make, 1400+ employees on crunch time, and over 1000 voice actors and actresses (in which the game has roughly 500,000 voice lines in total)to make. RDR2 turned out to be a masterpiece that only few games can achieve the level of and in my opinion is the best game of all time, but after all of this rockstar doesn’t know how to make a proper face for John Marston and just plastered his face over Arthur’s character model and made the smallest of changes. It’s such a shame that after all the work that they had been through, and all of the blood, sweat, and tears that they had to endure, they just decide to focus on GTA online because they make more money from it. All the people in the comments hating on you are just people who get satisfied when when making others mad. For those people that are probably against the mods or this video:
1. Having played RDR1 or not, I don't think there is anybody who cares about this game, doesn't care about Arthur Morgan. We all love John, maybe prefer him than other characters, but that doesn't mean we don't love Arthur.
2. Maybe you never played RDR1 or you just are not really a fan of John Marston, or maybe you think John Marston in RDR2 epilogue looks just fine, I think it's completely 100% okay, just don't download the mod. But please keep in mind: It doesn't matter if you can tell the differences that epilogue John has compared to RDR2 NPC John and RDR1 John, the differences are surely there. You have every right to not care about them which is just an opinion that should be respected. But please respect the fact that there are still many of us who do get bothered by the differences, and these mods that made by those amazing people made us the epilogues better for us.
3. For those who say "there are so many amazing details in this game, why do you guys just can't stop giving a shit about a simple haircut or a guy's face?" Well, caring about John's look doesn't mean we don't appreciate the details that were put into the game. John's inaccurate face in RDR2 epilogue, never stopped me from loving the game, but it sure as shit bothered me for a long, long time. Different people care about different details, and this one is something we care. I'm sure many of you have other games you love, but there are some features in those games you just hate.
4. "Don't you know John is younger in RDR2? How could he look the same as RDR1 John? The mods don't make sense at all." I'd say, the mods, make COMPLETELY SENSE. Firstly, I'm 100% satisfied with the design of RDR2 NPC John, which definitely is younger as he should be, with accurate John Marston's features, which can be recognized immediately as John Marston. How every, the epilogue John is not accurate to either of the versions. Secondly, In the begining of RDR1, John just finished living his most happy 4 years of his whole life in the farm, but he already looked like that old, serious and angry. Why? Because he spent his life robbing people with a gang full of outlaws, moving their camp away because they were tailed by the laws for 20+ years. Then, the people he used to call brothers, left him for dead for multiple times before he finally decided to go sperate ways from them. Then, it was 8 years of running from the laws and haters who tried to kill him, and during this period of time, he had to take care of his wife and kid. And he survived all that. All this, happened before the epilogue started. If those things can't make him look deep and serious, I don't know what can. So yes, the mods make completely sense, and the vanilla look of epilogue John, doesn't make sense to me at all.
5. If RDR3's story is written the same way like RDR2, where you play as a new character in the main story, and we can see a young NPC Arthur who looks completely fine, then in the epilogue we get to play as Arthur. Just imagine if the playable Arthur has a lot of features of the new character, while the npc Arthur doesn't. I'd get pissed off again, and I'm sure many of you will. And also, let me put it this way: If John's face in RDR2 epilogue shouldn't be made such a big deal, what about changing Arthur's face and making him look more alike John in the next update? I wouldn't want that, because I love both characters, and they both should be themselves.
6. I love Rockstar, most of my good memories of video games were Rockstar's games. And their games have always been my preference to other company's game. I agree they're one of the best video game producers. But still, I don't want to simp them. I spent a lot of my money on their games, the least right I have, is to make some complaints or to point out the bad sides of the games that I don't like, especially when those bad points I point out are accurate. This video is not against anybody that's fine with how John look, but please be fine with us who are bothered by it as well : )

I honestly love NPC John so much more than the one we got. I have tried to recreate John’s face & hair so hard, tried to make his outfits accurate, but I just keep failing.
I get the frustration man. When I was playing on console I did the same trying to get the beard, haircut and outfit correct. And back then I refused to watch any videos that show how incorrect John was in the epilogue, because I didn't want to admit the fact that I couldn't get him to look accurate no matter how I tried lol..

Yes. To me, it's far better than American Venom, where Johns says "Tha... Than... Thank you" like a humble, submissive simp to Dutch. And it doesn't even make any sense. John beating up De. Santa I think, was Rockstar's original intention to tell people what young John Marston was like. But I never have seen John being even close to it in RDR2.

John Marston had done facial harmonization, but before rdr1 started he took a big blow to the face, then when he got better it was like that.

There’s no excuse for us not being able to give John his normal hair
Some thoughts on why I think they ruined John in the second game:
1. The personality they gave John makes ZERO sense in RDR2. In the main story, John was one of the OG members in the gang. And like Bill says in RDR1, he was one of the guys in charge. But in RDR2, he wasn't. Besides, John keeps saying to people, that he was angry, violent and aggressive when he was a young man in the gang, but turns out, he was just a dumb kid who couldn't even form a complete sentence, getting drunk and teasing camp girls all the time instead. I never saw his violent, aggressive side as the young NPC John.
2. Okay now, let's jump to the begining of the epilogue. John after riding with the gangs for years of robbing people, gun fighting people, then being betrayed by his so called brothers. He then started to run from the laws, haters who tried to kill him, for 8 damn years, while he had to take care of his family. They didn't have a shelter or stable source of food, but he still managed to survive and took good care of his wife and kid. That would probably be the most stressful life he had lived during his whole life, as well as what he was going to experience in RDR1. Everything that John needs experience to become the man he is in RDR1, has already happened. But even at the last moment of the story, he still can't even talk smoothly.
3. In the begining of RDR1, he already looks that old and acts that mature and serious. But at this moment, he hasn't experienced anything in RDR1. His wife and kid were just taken away, maybe for a day or two? And he just finished living the most peaceful and happy 4 years in his whole life, which everything he did during the 4 years, was probably just feeding and brushing horses, taking out the trash, shoveling horse poops, milking cows.
4. Now, you tell me that the years of gang experiences, gun fighting with the laws and government agents, being betrayed by people he thought were his brothers, survived gun shot, managing to find his own family, taking them on the run, changing names and actually managing to survive while taking care of his wife and kid with the worried of being captured or killed without shelters for 8 years couldn't make him mature, calm and serious, but 4 years of ranching life can? Come on guys, check the story again PLEASE!
5. The model in RDR2 epilogue.
6. I played the first game years before the second one came out, and when I was playing the second, I found out there was something off about John. It's not because that John is young, it's because the young John is not supposed to be like this according to what we've learnt from RDR1. I love both games, and I agree RDR2's story is a well-written one. But I have to say, it's not a very good prequel. There are so many major mistakes that should NOT be ignored in the story writing, because many of those mistakes RUINED a lot of structures that were built in RDR1's story. So yeah, it's a great-written story, but not a very good prequel.
I disagree, John spent his entire life living the easy life, stealing what he needs and killing people who got in his way. He had no responsibility and he didnt want any - pushing Abigail and Jack away. Over the course of the game you can see John maturing slightly, but I can believe that he only matured fully with the responsibility of owning a ranch and putting in years of hard work. The personality and appearance change from ending of RDR2 to beginning in RDR1 isnt all that unbelievable.
@@tomasnovicky6886 Except for the story, John acts exactly the same in RDR2 at the end of epilogue and in the begining of the main story. He's like another movie character played by the same actor who used to play John.

@@tomasnovicky6886 I am not shitting on Rockstar and I don't find it cool, but I don't find it cool to justify every mistake they made either. John being young doesn't mean he can't be bad ass. And according to John's description on how he was when he was young, he's supposed to be one of the bad asses that can get things done better than others. Just read what I said or maybe replay the first game to listen to those dialogues again.
Before the second game came out, I always assumed that young John would be similar in-personality with Johnny Klebitz from GTA.

I'd rather think that John's face is supposed to already look like that in the beginning of the epilogue, because of years of running from the laws, managing to feed himself and his family, changing names, no shelters, facing storms and other extreme weathers, people trying to rob or kill them. Dryness and farming work do get you age faster, but that much of pressure the family has been through is even a lot worse.

It was originally John Marston but the developers decided it was too obvious for john to look as john having the alias Jim Milton so why not change his face to Jim Milton at once?

Guess they were too lazy or ran out of time to change the facial structure when switching perspectives in the epilogue.

Looks absolutely amazing, Vanilla John with a right parted fade lvl 7 can match well with his original hair in RDR1. (Just Shorter) I still have to criticize rockstar for randomly stretching Johns Face and giving him erupt and odd shoulders. His face is also way more skinny and he has less of a scowl, (Which he should have considering the epilogue is only a few years before the events of RDR1)

@@Bithe_Get I don't think the hair clips John's forehead through. But with some of the hats on, his forehead does clip through. But for me, as an RDR1 John fan, it's less buggy than the RDR2 epilogue's default John Morgan.
Playing the epilogue with this mod and with ( lasso on belt ) mod , will be just perfect 👌👌
