6:49 there is a secret outcome for Mark Johnson nobody knows about. You can let him run away, if you do nothing at the point where he wants you to take him in. After a while Mark Johnson will say "He's showing us mercy" and will run away with his family.

@@seydou1 Do you have to do that at a certain point? The mission fails for most people if you let him go at the beginning. MojaveD tried that, and the mission failed.

Just stood in front of him and his family instead of tying him up & put him on my horse like most Players do. After a while he says: "He's showing us Mercy." and runs away with his family, thats it. I don't rember a Mission failed screen or anything, after that i just could roam around like nothing happend but maybe this was patched or it indeed failed but i just don't remember it failing because Like i said, i tried/did this a long ime ago.

Locals come to the camp, I’ve triggered this after I read Mary’s letter but it always cuts the encounter off, even if I put the letter away, 2/10 times it triggers but the encounter is at the end…

What makes you think that? If it's his actual wife, it'd be impossible for her to be black since marriage between whites/non-whites didn't become legal in the US until relatively recently, in 1967. Before that, it was a felony punishable with a 5+ years prison sentence I believe, depending on the state.
