And in my opinion rdr2 John being a bit inaccurate along with his body, I don’t really care since rockstar already gave us so much in the game and a few issues is nothing.
It does. I do It on my game. Ill try to explain the steps. 1 - leave your ps4 storage almost full, just around the size of the game without updates. For rdr2, you'll need to leave around 100gb of free storage (I only know how to do It on the ps4, you can try something similar on xbox tho). 2- start the game's download. 3- the download will fail for not enough free storage. 4- here you'll need to be fast and start the trick. Go to download management, click on "continue" to start the download and then fast while it loads the download, click on it again and pause download. 5- Go to the console connection part on configs and turn the internet connection off. 6- Go back to download management and click to continue the download. 7- Go back to configs, connection and turn on the internet connection again. 8- done, just wait the download.
I’ll never understand why they just pasted Johns face on Arthur’s character model. They didn’t have to create an extra model, as they already had created John for the main story, all they had to do with fix the way to clothes, items, etc, fit on him. And also some animation changes. I know nothing about that kind of stuff but It doesn’t seem that hard, especially for a multi billion dollar company.
The animations could have been fixed easily since many of his rdr1 animations were in the game files and you could see some of the rdr1 animations in a mirror in first person

Yes tbh I'd be fine with playing on 1.0 especially since alot of fun glitches can be done. But it sucks not having the lemat revolver and evans repeater in story mode in 1.0
What if Arthurs spirit became attached to John Marston, after his death, and serectly took over John Martsons body to live once more to get revenge on Micha and Dutch...? Just a theory... Also alot of people did enjoy play as Arthur Morgan, so maybe Rockstar decided to make John look more like Arthur, so that could be why John Martson, looks more like Arthur Morgan.
I'm not sure if this is a joke and if it is, then fair enough. But why would Arthur's spirit posses his body and then leave again just in time for RDR1's events. Also how would Rockstar know that people would enjoy playing as Arthur as much they did that they'd change John in advance to look like him. For all they know people dislike him, find him lame or are mostly apathetic and they just changed the other already beloved protagonist to look like him. Because in the now, we have people who are very annoyed that they did.

Another thing I didn’t like was that John is jacked like Arthur in the epilogue but he has an average build in the main story and RD1. It gets old with the trend of having main characters be jacked up and curvy over actually looking like real people
They really butchered John bc wtf was rockstar on? I remember being so excited to be playing as John but the next thing I know, he has mostly if not all of Arthur’s features just copy pasted onto him like you said. I guess the best thing for me as a console player is to make him look like John by giving him the longer length 5 hair right parted with the length 2 or 3 stubble or giving him a more defined mustache like the pencil one. If they decide to remaster the game on next gen like for the ps5, rockstar should definitely put reworking on Marston at the top of their list.
There is also a third solution. Stay as Arthur in chapter 2, 3 or 4 forever. As a ps4 player here I hate playing as John, but I love him as a character and I would love to play as him in rdr1. I just need to buy this game that’s all

i think it has something to do with the weight system. depending on your weight, it will change your entire body to underweight, overweight, athletic, etc. i think that they didn't have enough time to add every single body style and instead just opted to instead put john's face model onto arthur's and call it a day

To be fair, you can’t really blame Rockstar. Whenever they have to push out a game it give the devs so little time to fix the product they reveal. I wouldn’t be surprised if John in epilogue was already broken enough. I think that’s why it feels so rushed in a sense. If rockstar had more time I’m sure we would’ve had better customization for John Marston. That’s just my opinion. Even still rockstar can drop an update fixing some of these issues or at least add his npc hair as an option.

I haven't played the first one, but I really disliked the RDR2 epilogue because it doesn't add anything and actually ruins the impact of the ending of Arthur's story by cutting in abruptly.
I think that Rockstar people know what they have done, for one reason. They made John by purpose to look somehow different , not because of laziness! If they copied the rdr1 model at the rdr2 graphics, awesome and unique graphics, John would be terrific. Everyone would forget about the rdr1 John, because the graphics are not that good and he would become way more underrated. That is my opinion, seems kind of obvious, I’m sure they would like that all their characters are appreciated.

The reason John looks so much like Arthur is because of the missions you can do as both characters. Because the body and face have the same structure they can use the same animations on this missions

I can see thus on both sides. Pn one side fans really want john to look as he should be. On another hand, from rockstar adding new animations and voice lines for john is too much work. I guess so they stuck his face to arthurs body you have at the end of the game.
Yea, this was an entire reach. The only claim you really have is that for the gameplay in the epilogue they reused Arthurs assets. If you're disrespected by this then that's a you problem. Obviously something happened to where they had to cut corners or cost. John was amazing the rest of the game, including the epilogue, he just looked different when you played as him.

Another thing I didn’t like was that John is jacked like Arthur in the epilogue but he has an average build in the main story and RD1. It gets old with the trend of having main characters be jacked up and curvy over actually looking like real people

They really butchered John bc wtf was rockstar on? I remember being so excited to be playing as John but the next thing I know, he has mostly if not all of Arthur’s features just copy pasted onto him like you said. I guess the best thing for me as a console player is to make him look like John by giving him the longer length 5 hair right parted with the length 2 or 3 stubble or giving him a more defined mustache like the pencil one. If they decide to remaster the game on next gen like for the ps5, rockstar should definitely put reworking on Marston at the top of their list.

Rockstar if you don’t wanna fix something you easily can, just ask modders if they can fix it and add it to a new patch. it’s that simple, no one cares about growing hair or 1 item clipping through other clothes man. Just give console players 1899 john.

@@JohnMarston004 Since I saw this video, I can't help but notice it, before I practically didn't realize it, but now I do. I uses the same haircut and beard style that i used with Arthur and he looks pretty much like him but with black hair color.
@@misterx9854 Yeah its really annoying. If you're on pc you can install the mods i mentioned and if you're on console you can revert the version to 1.00 if you have the physical copy. John looks better in version 1.00
Basically it's just John's texture slapped on Arthur's model

i think it has something to do with the weight system. depending on your weight, it will change your entire body to underweight, overweight, athletic, etc. i think that they didn't have enough time to add every single body style and instead just opted to instead put john's face model onto arthur's and call it a day

Johns my fav character i managed to make it less the same as arthur by making arthur big while making john skinny also i make arthur have middle parted short hair and give john right parted lvl 6 and arthur has diffeent beard then i give john and i dress them diffrently so with how i do it they seem diffrent but if you try they absolutely look the same and its sad least you as the player can improve it second i get a pc tho im getting mods for it

Yes the individual developers that made all the details are great but we are talking about the overall whole company and rockstar doesnt care about their fans anymore. Just look at this video for example, if they would really care they would have updated the game and made john better but they just made him worse trough updates. Or look at red dead online

To be fair, you can’t really blame Rockstar. Whenever they have to push out a game it give the devs so little time to fix the product they reveal. I wouldn’t be surprised if John in epilogue was already broken enough. I think that’s why it feels so rushed in a sense. If rockstar had more time I’m sure we would’ve had better customization for John Marston. That’s just my opinion. Even still rockstar can drop an update fixing some of these issues or at least add his npc hair as an option.

I haven't played the first one, but I really disliked the RDR2 epilogue because it doesn't add anything and actually ruins the impact of the ending of Arthur's story by cutting in abruptly.

I think that Rockstar people know what they have done, for one reason. They made John by purpose to look somehow different , not because of laziness! If they copied the rdr1 model at the rdr2 graphics, awesome and unique graphics, John would be terrific. Everyone would forget about the rdr1 John, because the graphics are not that good and he would become way more underrated. That is my opinion, seems kind of obvious, I’m sure they would like that all their characters are appreciated.

And rockstar originally planned john to look like his npc version in epilogue but they didnt have enough time in the end and wanted to release the game too early and they just copy pasted arthurs body parts on john

It is what it is, I also wish they would just had the time to finish the whole game properly and made the whole players enjoy 100% the maps, the story and all . But that's what it is and either way that game is still fantastic

The reason John looks so much like Arthur is because of the missions you can do as both characters. Because the body and face have the same structure they can use the same animations on this missions
They shouldve delayed the game to 2019 and the epilogue would be amazing and they also wouldve won goty

Yea, this was an entire reach. The only claim you really have is that for the gameplay in the epilogue they reused Arthurs assets. If you're disrespected by this then that's a you problem. Obviously something happened to where they had to cut corners or cost. John was amazing the rest of the game, including the epilogue, he just looked different when you played as him.

Don’t get me wrong this is lazy from rockstar as usual. But prologue was 8 years ago so things change also another thing to consider is the weight mechanic which can only rlly work on one model as it is harder to do it for 2 separate models it is lazy but it makes sense

He literally was ruined. Its not that only one thing about him is wrong in the epilogue. Its literally so much stuff that you cant just simply ignore them. Lets just say Rdr3 comes out and at first you play as an different character and then you play as Arthur ( which will be unlikey to happen but its just a comparison) and then all of a sudden the developers give Arthur the hair, neck, jaw, body, outfits, animations from the first main character to Arthur and Arthur looks nothing like he did in Rdr2. So many Arthur fans would be pissed off and rightly so

It’s hella disrespectful to rdr1 fans to have the person they grew up playing as look exactly like how he did in the first game as an npc but suddenly make him look exactly like the new protagonist but with broken animations and clothes.
