  • Join Nicola White and ‪@Sifinds‬ on an extreme mudlark in the freezing cold weather out in the wilds of the Estuary. This was filmed in between lockdowns in January and we had a great time getting extremely wet and cold, searching for history. We found some great bottles and Simon discovered a Roman pot emerging out of the mud.
Thank you for watching and as always, I value your comments and feedback.
You can follow me on twitter and instagram @tidelineart
If you would like to treat me to a cup of tea I have a Kofi account and the link is here:-

Thank you. Stay Safe and see you soon.

Oh Nicola and Simon! I’m lying in bed with the air conditioner turned down to 20C as it’s turned hot and humid. We’ve just had a thunderstorm and the air has cleared a bit. To be honest, I have forgotten how cold that sleet and wind can be. I lived in Aberdeen for years, I know cold, but here in the sunny Bay of Plenty, my memories of that bitter, biting cold have faded into the mist….. thank goodness 😅 thank you for doing the Cold Hunts for the rest of us. I was watching your 🙌🏻….bright red with cold. I felt for you. Some of your camera work is great. You two make such incredibly watchable videos. Thank you. 🌞🌞🌞🌞

I was fortunate to find Roman tesserae in a pothole, still fixed to a surface about 6 inches down. It was duly logged by the County Archaeologist before being covered up again. I don't when it will ever be investigated. I often think of it when I cross over the road.

@@nicolawhitemudlark -- Thank you!!! I'm still working on the "Mudlarking In The USA" lyrics -- should have those done sometime this week. I haven't dusted off my song-writing skills in *MANY* years -- and in college my band was king of the parody song (which we wrote many of) -- our hero was Weird Al Yankovic! Oh -- and when I am next out shopping I plan to pick up some lemon (actual real lemons? or lemon juice in a bottle?) so that I can try out my Earl Grey tea in "Tideline Art" fashion!!!

I mean no disrespect to anyone commenting the bone Nicola found is from a bird.
That bone is NOT from any bird. It is not what is commonly called a wish-bone.
It is the greater portion of the lower jaw-bone of a fish.
      Respectfully, Ben

You two were out in the cold by choice, I know you making a living from your finds but the kids would have been trying to keep alive and probably go home to a freezing cellar or room filled with every one in their family trying to keep warm. What hardy and dedicated souls you two are.
The orange thing looks like it might be a type of sponge that broke away from its normal home. A Red Ridge sponge maybe.

'What do you mean it's snowing, what do you mean it's raining, there are treasures to be found, lets go' You remind me of myself, I am a Graduate Gemologist and I have been out in the Mojave Desert in 118 degree weather picking up jasper, agate and chalcedony, 'It's just a little heat, don't worry about it'

Glad I found this channel, your videos are a perfect fit in a rotation of other things like fishing and cooking and people tinkering with stuff in the shed etc when I want to have a lazy couple hours watching relaxing stuff with some nice cups of tea!

I thought I was subscribed as we've watched all your videos for the past two years. But I checked and was not. Am now. Interesting and peaceful videos. My wife is bonkers over clay pipes now. Please keep up the fantastic videos.
