Brompton ride is definitely a unique and rewarding ride experience. The fact that I don't have to lock it up anywhere I go, especially here in NYC, adds that extra element of Freedom to go anywhere, anytime with a bike.
I commute 2 1/2 miles to work everyday. The Brompton is perfect as it also tucks under my desk nicely. Love it. I got it using my employers cycle to work scheme.
I'd be super sad if you guys stopped making videos. I really enjoy them. I am fortunate enough to feel safe with a kids trailer but I don't like in NYC and not sure I'd be as comfortable there.

hello !! I really like your videos and I hope you will continue for years to come . I bought my first Brompton in 2018 and was the chat3 v1 from the bike shop in Southampton ( I think someone return that bike) but I love it , in 2021 I bought another 2 bromptons ( 1 electric in a lovely blue color and 1 super light Brompton with titanium parts (with this bike I cycled last year from Bournemouth to Frankfurt around 1000KM and was really good and I had no problems with the bike, not even a puncture !! ... in 2022 I bought my T line and another 2 super lights Brompton ( 1 in racing green colour and 1 in red which I will convert in few days if I have time with a switch electric kit ) . and finally this year 2023 I bought the chpt3 v4 and I managed to find and buy chpt3 v2 and chpt3 v3 . I was really lucky to find the last 2 chpt3 at the very low price and in very good condition , with all the paper and complete my collection of chpt3 all versions !! I love them all , chpt3 are all beautiful and my t line is crazy "sick" like me :))
Hi. To be honest it doesn’t take a lot of space , I bought square cupboards and I fit them against the wall 3/3/3. Will be nice a T line chpt3 , if I can afford when is coming out I will definitely buy it ! I just like to say I am not rich , I worked really hard and most of the bikes are second hand ,at very low price( manufacturing price ) , only the T line and another 2 bikes I bought them new !! I never thought in 1 million years I will have the complete collection of chpt3 , because they are so rare and people who sell it on eBay , they will ask crazy money !!
Thank you for this video! I got a cruiser a few weeks ago and already thinking about getting a Brompton for the summer. The A line would be the smarter choice given that I already just paid for a bike but the T line, oh my, 17 pound bike to schlep around in an oversized beach bag would be a dream 🤩
Great video! First, thank you and your wife for doing such a great job! I enjoy every video and learn so much from you. I recently brought my first Brompton x CHPT3 4th Edition. I am thrilled with the quality of the Brompton bike. I would like you to make a video on the types of cameras you use to make your video and how you set up when your ride. Thanks!
Excellent content, picked up my Piccadilly Blue in London last year and haven’t looked back. An amazingly sprightly engineered bicycle, is this Brompton. Keep looking out for you two on the streets of New York City. 🥳🤩
Nice. Just shout out my name SHOE! if you see me. I am usually paying attention to traffic lol. We usually get spotted on every ride. Its always nice to see other riders.
Love your videos, the presentation, light-hearted humour and knowledge always make me come back. Keep up the good work! I also agree with your reasons why the Brompton is an essential bike for everyone, I love mine- S6L Black Edition and M6L Electric :)
Great job on this video. Everything you said I think is the magic of this bike. I love my Brompton’s and I still use the one I got on 2017. So you are right they a the best quality. Good job Soko on helping with the videos..😊
Thank you for posting ! Yes. Brompton is one of the best folding bikes you can buy, especially the current P line, with 4 speed gear. Most current owners enjoy the riding experience and will also find out their bikes will hold their value very well after few years usage. Although the purchase price is high, most owners will find it inexpensive to own when they sell them
I come from a higher-end road bike background, and recently got a Dahon for my 1.5 mile commute. I felt like the Brompton was a bit over-the-top for a first folding bike. After the first ride on the Dahon, I realized I wanted a Brompton. One of the biggest things is that folding the Dahon once I get to work is more cumbersome than I thought it would be, and the compactness of the Brompton is also better than I realized.
Thanks for your nice videos. I am really interested in buying a Brompton C line, install a Marathon Schwalbe Plus tyres (hopefully the bike can withstand my heavy weight 122kg 🤔). Appreciate your thoughts and advise. Thank you
I have heard of many people over the weight limit. Please keep in mind you may have to keep on top of maintenance which may be more frequent. Depending on how you plan on using the Brompton, you should test ride it. A C Line with Schwalbe Plus tires is heavy and the rolling resistance of the tires itself is more than other tire models. If you plan on just using it lesiurely that is fine, but for long distances it may be slow.
I bought my first Brompton in Japan too because Loro was on sale. I remember the year was 2008. The Brompton I bought is also a titanium and the color is Kew Green. Since then I have never gone back to Japan. It has been 15 years....
Good morning , Thank you for this video. I love my Brompton C line electric Brompton that I purchased at Rei. So much I am considering purchasing a second one. Do you see value in buying a P line versus C line for a second one? It would shave off I think about 3 lbs. I ask bc you obviously have plenty of experience. A second question would be, how and where do you sell your bikes? I have a Trek verve 2+ which I am sad to say is collecting dust despite being an excellent bike and it would be nice to rehome it. The Trek does not fit in my trunk like my Brompton does and that I seem to not be able to forgive it anymore…. Call it the Brompton curse….. :) Sabine
I always use EBAY to sell my bromptons. I have a video on it so please check it out. The P line is worth it if you have to lift it often. Having a titanium triangle and fork means less worry about rust too.
Nice videos, one bad thing about watching ur videos is that i spent too much money on upgrading my brompton after watching upgrading videos...and brompton parts are very $$$$... love ur T...with all the upgrades, looks very pro
Greetings from Canada. I just bought a Brompton back in April of this year and I love it. You mentioned about Dahon and I thought I would tell you my experienced on the Dahon. I thought these bikes was just as good as Brompton until I ending up getting one. This year I have to replaced the front ring of my Dahon and I was a bit surprised when their customer servce told me that I need to replaced the crank and it will be an aftemarket. Mind you the cost is only $70 to do the repair on the Dahon but why there are no replacement parts? That is something that will not happen on the Brompton. OEM parts are compatible for Brompton, so it doesn't matter how old the bike is, there is always parts for it. My next Brompton is a T line. How do you feel about the Brompton copies coming out of China? You should do a video to compare.
from that perspective of brompton electric i would add 2 points in brompton's favor: 1.) that the electric doesn't require app to use - this is huge. so many new electronic hardware manufacturers go out of business leaving existing customers s.o.l. because app is no longer able to be used. on this end of the adoption curve, there's a big advantage to new electronic hardware for which an app adds some features (like keeping track of distance ridden and more exact battery % charge), but is not required to use the battery/motor 2.) also, brompton electric is better than it's competitors to carry stuff with front carrier block and rear rack. far exceeds gocycle or hummingbird in these ways. also, better than much heavier non-folding bikes which can't be brought inside.
I will warn you all I did not have a positive experience with an e-Brompton I test rode once. Maybe its just me but it didn't "feel right" in many ways when riding. It is also VERY HEAVY. I would strongly advise test riding it once, and maybe even more than once, before plunking down a lot of money on one.
Your right the weight is my main concern (on any electric bike). I was thinking about getting the One Motor for my T Line but their website has not changed in a long time so it looks to me that they are either no longer in business or having some kind of problem.
Did you ride during the smoke from the Canadian fires? When you worked in Japan did you have a mama chan bike? I worked for the U.S. Treasury and every January and February from 2003 to 2007 I was detailed to the American bases, Yokosuka, Yokota, and Misawa. I was also sent in March and April of 2004 to the U.S. embassies in Tokyo, Seul, Manila, and Beijing, and to the consulate in Hong Kong to assist U.S. citizens with tax questions. After I retired in 2011, I went to the Yamassa Institute in Okazaki City in 2012 to their 日本語だけJapanese Language School
Wow that is great. It must have been nice to travel for work to different locations. I have to commute to work and home by Brompton even in the Canadian smoke. My throat was hurting but it is getting better. I had many bikes. in Japan including a few mama charis. They are great "I don't care what happens to it" bikes lol.
Hello! I own a 22’ edition Brompton Electric. It’s been my favorite Brompton to date however, it is very heavy. Weighs about twice what your Superlight weighs. Could you make a video on how to make your C-line Brompton electric lighter? There aren’t any videos on that particular subject. Thank you!
The modifications done to any Brompton would work on the Electric. It depends on how much money you are willing to spend. My next bike will be Electric I hope.

BFT..I'm going to have to get a Brompton haven't been able to find a aceofix or anyone to ship one to the U.S. That's ok, like you said your buying the original not the clone. I'll be buying some pedals for the Brompton i don't own yet,ha. That will bring my aftermarket total up to $400 nice thing is I'll be able to resell the stock parts to cut my losse's. Is that good math?
Your better off with the original. The clones are not the same in terms of quality. I would keep the original parts. They are hard or really expensive to replace if you need to in the future. Make sure you get top dollar if you do sell them.
@@BromptonFamilyTime I'll sell, I plan on living in a camper van the rest of my life, won't have space for extra parts. Just a Brompton, slot car's,art books and a lamp,ha
Good questions. I prefer doing all the work myself. The only tool I don't have is the seatpost sleeve reamer. I tried to get one but couldn't find one. It was $550 too!
I'm giving up my car when I retire. So public transport and Brompton for me. It took a car accident (hit from behind and totaled) for me to discover what a Brompton is.
Hi , I can see that your right side H&H v2 stand is not touching the ground level probably is due to the removal of the mudguards. I installed a ehook pillow adapter from Brombacher, and it actually made it almost level with the ground (standing straight). Can try it ..
I have a few "clones" purchased from Singapore; they are very customizable and in some way better, Brompton has not had any renovation in decades. Maybe the T line but then you can have the T "clone" for 1/4 the price.
So these people making "clones" as you call them are stealing Brompton intellectual property. If you think stealing is morally acceptable you can pick one up off the street for free with a pair of lock cutters. If everyone had undermined Brompton by allowing cheap labour manufacturers to steal Bromptons i.p. we would not have the t line. There would be no innovation. These clone manufacturers contribute nothing. You should re think your life choices if you're supporting them instead of Brompton.
I always compare Brompton with Ortlieb. It is just sensible, extremely well made, slightly expensive and antiquated looking shit that is going to last forever.
Thanks for all your great videos! Since Brompton’s copyright ran out in 1999, there are countless micrometer perfect copies of them around the world. Thankfully most of them are not commonplace in the United States! There’s nothing like the real thing!
I am 5'5". You should test ride it and the handlebar type since both would work for you. The S will be nice and sporty (you will be "leaning" on your handlebar all the time) and the M type you will be sitting upright (with the ability to ride one handed since your not "leaning" on the handlebar).
Sorry to have to name it, but if it wasn't for the extreme fold - a Brompton is an absolutely horrible bike ( I own a former Top, 2019 SuperlightM6LXBrompton)! Modified down to 9,35 kilo (Correction, now below 9 kilo) and still with mudguards (I don't like the "Brompton Stripe" up my back, as a Dane) and it may be blamed for giving rise to a large number of even less useful, small wheeled bikes in the seventies (Some of which couldn't even fold, or only ½)!!! The small wheels are definitely heavy rolling, even on the best of surfaces! It may do what other bikes do, but with much more effort to do the same job!! There is a reason why MTB's are now mostly using 29" wheels. As an elderly man of now 75, I have also owned a 6,8 kilo racing bike and I still own a hand built, carbon, Vision Kilo based, full Shimano XTR equipped MTB with the top disc brakes, XTR 9120. Finn. Denmark
You spent thousands of dollars on your T-Line but you still haven't told us and shown us a video of the actual weight of your bike in kilos!!?? I know scales are very expensive!?
If I could only have one bike it would be a Brompton....oh wait, I do only have one bike and it is a Brompton 😆

I'm giving up my car when I retire. So public transport and Brompton for me. It took a car accident (hit from behind and totaled) for me to discover what a Brompton is.
Sorry to hear about the accident. Having a Brompton has saved me money by not having to drive to many places.

Bom dia abraço
Hi , I can see that your right side H&H v2 stand is not touching the ground level probably is due to the removal of the mudguards. I installed a ehook pillow adapter from Brombacher, and it actually made it almost level with the ground (standing straight). Can try it ..
I bought the H&H one that was suppose to fix it but it does not fit. I still have it but I haven't had time to see what the problem is.
@@BromptonFamilyTime yes , they haven’t get back to you , you should get a e-hook adapter pillow,
I’m a brit living in Beijing and thinking of getting a Brompton tomorrow, going for a c line i think
Great. I like all the models as they all serve a different purpose to me. Good luck!
Great job to both!!!
Thanks for all your great videos! Since Brompton’s copyright ran out in 1999, there are countless micrometer perfect copies of them around the world. Thankfully most of them are not commonplace in the United States! There’s nothing like the real thing!
😁
Thanks for convincing me to get a brompton! 🤣May I know your height? I'm 5'7", and trying to decide between S and M handlebar
I am 5'5". You should test ride it and the handlebar type since both would work for you. The S will be nice and sporty (you will be "leaning" on your handlebar all the time) and the M type you will be sitting upright (with the ability to ride one handed since your not "leaning" on the handlebar).
@@BromptonFamilyTime Thanks!
❤
If the front of my T-line is stolen, can I order a new one ?
A Brompton should last a lot longer than ten years. I own a fifty year old French road bike that works as well as the day it was made.
We finally made a video and are editing it now. It should be out within a few weeks!
