Man, that’s really awesome for you to do that. Glad to see it. Not many people would. Keep up the great content! 👍🏻
Thanks Vince i appreciate it 🤙🏼
@Tristan Zayn Yea, I've been watching on kaldroStream for since december myself :D
Just did the same swap from
Evil fab. So great
who did your tuning?
Video turned out awesome. Can’t thank you enough for helping me out 👍🏼
Anytime man. 🤙🏼
I want to swap mine. The only issue I have is the 5 inch exhaust.
David Johns i have a 5” exhaust on mine. There’s not a difference with the WCFab kit.
@@okc_garage did they send an adapter? I would pm you, but my Instagram got hacked 😕
David Johns its all good. WCFab down pipe connects to a 4” or 5” exhaust. The flange is the same.
Most important tool for any mechanical job is miller light, or your beer of choice.
Looks awesome!! Can’t wait to do mine. I wanted to see how much fun you guys had doing the coolant bypass kit 😂😂
It was pretty easy this go around. Took about 45 minutes to install it. When i did mine it took me about a day cause i was scared to knock the freeze plug into the block.
At 170k miles, probably should have considered doing some head work/swap prior to the turbo. He’s rolling the dice on the head gasket making it after replacing the studs. If it don’t, all that work will have to be done again. Great how-to video regardless.
The questions were asked and we
Decided she should be fine. Everything’s running strong and he doesn’t beat the crap out of it so it should be fine. We just did studs a few days ago.
On my 2012 ram 3500...How do you remove the lower rear stud of the manifold? A coolant pipe is attached in front of it but I can't seem to remove the pipe...Do I remove the bolt on the back side of the block?
Not sure what bolt you’re referring too.
@@okc_garage it’s the lower exhaust manifold where the hard coolant pipe is attached to it. I think you have to remove the rear engine block bolt in order to remove the coolant pipe from the stud. Is there a nut behind it?
Great content man. Absolutely awesome
Another great video awesome job!!
Cat oil filter!!! How’d you manage that!! I keep using Amsoil but I can get cats cheaper down the road. Another nice video
I too am curious about the Cat filter.
I just installed an evil fab kit last month had no problems with it and still like it. But what studs did you use for turbo to manifold? And he’s definitely going to want to get some head studs soon not sure how he hasn’t had that problem yet. Optitorque makes some good ones that are in between 2000s and 625
I believe they were the ones that came from evil fab. I highly recommend the arp manifold studs.
what tuning did you go with?
So what are your thoughts on coming to RI to work on my truck ? Close enough ? Just kidding ! Your a good dude . Keep up the great work.
What part of RI do you live in , im right in ct. Great video to by the way to okc
Pawtucket
Nice , yeah I work in pascoag r.i. what year ram u got
2010
Nice, got a 16 did add a turbo kit
Awesome video
Thanks man.
What did you guys do with that extra port on the steed speed, it comes with one plug but two ports?
I had a spare NPT plug and we threw it in. You can get them pretty cheap at any parts store.
I've come to some forks in the road and I need your knowledge and experience. I plan on doing all 4 upgrades in stages, but would like to do 2 of the 4 right now. If choosing to do one of each right now, would you do the valve body upgrade or regear? (35" and leveled). Also, which would you do first? 2nd gen swap or ARP head studs? BTW, Awesome channel! Thanks for putting the tutorial videos out there, it helps a lot with doing some of these upgrades at home! Keep them coming!
I appreciate the kind words. I did it in this order. 2nd gen swap, head studs, gears, and then valve body. If i were you i would say do it in that order as well. Now if you had 37s I’d say valve body and gears first. Hope this answers your question.
Yeah, I would do the 2nd gen swap first, then do head studs. The quicker you can get rid of the emissions junk the better! I have a 17 and I deleted it and did 2nd gen swap when the truck had 73 miles on it. It was the best thing I ever did to the truck.
Awesome can you make drive by videos 😍
There’s a video on my IG story right now of him leaving. If that helps.
Question, I just got done installing evilfabs kit on my 2018 . It was idling fine with oil pressure reading good and the second I put it in drive it dropped to zero. Any insight would be great . I don’t have a clue
Did you have to modify your exhaust to fit the down pipe? I have a 2021 with a 5” exhaust. I ordered a EvilFab kit and noticed in your video the exhaust end of the down pipe doesn’t have a VBand connection.
Yes you will need to go to an exhaust shop once you get it installed to connect the downpipe to the rest of the exhaust.
Just order a 5” to 4” reducer
AIRBORNE! 🇺🇲
Anything on the compressor side is the cold side bud…. Hot side is manifold, to turbo, to exhaust…. Ya know, cuz it’s hot….
Not exactly. Hot side is turbo side before the air goes into the intercooler. Cold side is after it comes out of the intercooler. 🤙🏼
I just did the swap how do i keep the check engine light off?
Do you need that spacer between the manifold and turbo? I ordered one of there current kits and now they offer a 3 piece and I wanted a steed still. Just wondering if it’s a clearance issue or what it’s there for
For the S400 turbo you will need it if it’s in the high mount location or the compressor cover will hit the exhaust manifold.
@@okc_garage I appreciate it. Thank you
Hey brother I have a question for you. When you guys did the coolant riser delete, what did you do with the coolant line that ran right under the exhaust manifold that runs behind the back of the motor above the trans?
We used a fleece coolant rise delete/ re route. I don’t remember there being a line underneath the exhaust manifold. It was just a hose that we ran along the frame rail and up into the cab for the heater core.
I’m interested in the turbo mine just went out want build boost
I just acquired a S468 5 blade stainless diesel turbo if your interested?
What size bolts did you end up going with that fit for the oil drain feed because I'm doing an evil fab 2nd gen swap myself right now on my 2016 and I ran into the same problem
Honestly i don’t remember. But if you let evil fab know they will send out the right ones. Or you could take the center section to a hardware store and find the correct ones.
Where did you get the plug for the port on the head that the coolant riser return would have went? I am getting ready to do a 2nd gen swap myself and was debating on where to get a plug or what to do with it?
It came with the kit
What State do you currently live in? In Cali and want to do this similar setup soon
What do you do with the air intake sensors? Did you have to get it re tuned?
The intake tube that connects to the front of the turbo is where they go. And yes a retune will be required.
how did you get that coolant fitting off ? what tool did you use? i cant find anything that fits there without taking the valve cover completely off
Just used an open ended wrench with some heat from a torch.
is that a cat oil filter?
Did u retune the truck and if so how did u go about it?
We did. But the company is out of business now.
Hey have you had any experience running your 467 in a high altitude I live in Colorado at about 10,000 feet that is where the truck will primarily be driven I have heard to not do anything bigger than a 464 any experience with this
I haven’t. I don’t know much about high altitude performance first hand but you can DM @diablo6.7 on IG. He just did a 2nd gen swap with a S467.7 on his 2018 and he’s from Colorado Springs. Hope this helps man.
Were did you get the coolant relocation hose? I need that
he got it from fleece
No head studs?
If you add a 180 degree thermostat do you need a coolant bypass?
I would to evenly distribute cooling to the back of the engine block. My engine temp dropped about 20-30 degrees after installing it.
What year is his truck?
2012 Ram 2500. Had 186k miles when we did the 2nd gen swap.
Did you get the steed speed seperate?
No it came with the kit. This was before he ruin that relationship. I would not recommend his kit today. His craftsman ship and quality has gone to shit.
Darn, i was just about to pull the trigger on his setup, Who else you recommend?
@@Ghost-ql4dm sloshfab. Jake’s is one man show that makes a phenomenal kit. Let him know i sent you. About to run his compound setup.
10-4 i appreciate it
Why not a compound turbo setup? then you can keep the exhaust brake. Is it a cost thing as you can sell old turbo or easier install or better performance for cost?
There are many different reasons to do one or another. Compound setups are great if your towing to keep the exhaust brake on the VGT. 2nd gen swaps just get rid of the troublesome VGT turbos and gives you a fixed vane turbo that you can make huge power gains depending on the size of the turbo. Fleece also makes a exhaust brake for 2nd gen swaps now as well.
did your trans ever fail? i know you had a 2g swap and I assume your tuning was pretty agressive
Bodies trans did fail about a year ago and he got a built 68 put in. I still have a stock trans with a Billet Revmax valve body and trans tuning. Shes running great but i know my limitation is the trans so I dont beat it up.
How are the egts when your towing?
Most i seen was 1200 when i was going uphill getting on it. Usually day to day driving is 6-800
What state are you in?
what tuning did you go with on this truck?
CTT tuning with Ezlynk.
Where are u located???
I’m in the OKC metro area.
How can i get in touch with u im in ft worth tx!! I would like a second gen on my truck!
