    When using a flat bit to drill holes for pipes,use a piece of scrap timber under the laminate whilst drilling to prevent the back breaking out and make a cleaner hole. Otherwise clear instructions with useful tips.

    What is the recommended underlay now. It seems that you no longer sell the self adhesive type any more. Is it no longer advisable to use adhesive when fitting?

      Hi there, self adhesive underlay is good to use under solid wood flooring. You will see this being used in the video link below. Our stock is subject to availability. Please see our range of available underlay here bit.ly/3GyEtZM 😊

      A helper in store said use the cork undelay and when you look on the website to buy solid wood flooring its there as a "frequently bought together" item. I'm in the same situation now so could do with them updating video as I'm not sure if it needs any glue or just sit it on top.

    I was enjoying this until 6:15 where the tricky business of getting any board to click into both sides is simply brushed over!! Hey presto! Next frame he stands there, totally brushing off the relevance of the reason that I watched it in the first place!! Should I use a mallet or keep pulling my hair out as I buttress one side, only to see it pop back out when I lay the next? Jeez

    Hi,
    I dont see you using a glue on the edges?Is it required to glue tongue and groove flooring?

    • @bandq
      @bandq  3 роки тому +1

      Hi, this is not required on tongue and groove flooring as they simply fold and lock together. However, glue maybe required on older floorboards that don't have this system. I would suggest to always check the installation instructions on the flooring you purchase 😄

      Hi, the recommended underlay for the B&Q solid wood flooring is cork, however i read in the instructions the floor needs to be glued... Can you recommend which version of lying the floor is the one that should be used?

    Would this be more difficult with solid Jarrah tongue and groove?

    • @bandq
      @bandq  2 роки тому

      Hi, Sebastiaan! Unfortunately, we wouldn’t know if that has any special fitting requirements, as we sadly don’t sell any Jarrah solid wood flooring. Sorry about that!

    Can't understand why they didn't take the skirting boards off prior to laying, would have been a far better finish.

      Spot on Gary. Not many people understand the clean skirting/flooring look.

    hi can anyone please tell me if u can lay tongue an groove floorboards on top of laminate flooring

    • @ClankyRochet
      @ClankyRochet 10 років тому

      What do you mean by tongue and groove floorboard? Laminate floor, hardwood floor and engineered floor all has tongue and groove. If you are laying hardwood floor, I would reccomend removing the laminate floor to get a neat and solid finish. Thats just my opinion.

    Please go more slowly and precisely when it comes to first boards. Never done before and nervous. Messed up numerous times when it came to “template”. Laminate for dummies please.

    And if you think that a solid floor that isn't fixed down isn't going to squeak you are an idiot. The joints will squeak off each other. A nailed floor is driven tight together stopping this (assuming the floor starts at the same humidity as the room. Best established is summer when it's drier.) b and spew
