    I did a test like this with about 20 gold rings (using Legend) I had one that hit on 15 and the rest was around 18 to 37,I use to turn my Fisher CZ 21 over to midtones and did not dig coins at the beach it was a gold monster,so I got to thinking if I notched out to around 18 and then everthing 40 and above this would be pretty much be the same on the Legend as the fisher,I cover about 3 times the beach bottom as most,and find a lot of gold,I am sure I miss a small piece of gold now and then ,and silver rings which I am not interested in that much anyway (beach only) took me a while to get use to hunting this way,sometime I walk a very long way before a target,but I havent wore myself out digging coins I work the beaches here in Fl. most of the time, in the winter I will hunt mostly land I am sure a lot of people are going to say I am missing a lot of gold,but if I go to the beach for 8 hrs I don't want to spend 6 hours digging coins , my gold average is pretty high WORKS FOR ME. KEEP ON DIGGIN!

    Went out today and found 15 pennies 1 dime and 1 nickel and the numbers were almost identical to the your video. Did find some pull tabs at a 39-40 but not to many. Today was my longest hunt with the legend

      Sounds like you had a fun day. The VDI numbers are just a good place to start. I mostly dig anything repeatable with a constant number. It is nice to know how a coin rings up though. It can be kinda discouraging if you aren't digging anything good lol.

    Very cool. I do not have a Legend but I liked seeing the vdi read outs..hearing the tones too.. thanks for sharing..

      I love the tones on the legend. 60 tones really sings, but I want to get more familiar with the machine before I switch. Being able to change pitch and tone breaks is nice especially for specific detecting.

    Hey what LCD cover is that you have on your legend?
    I just got mine and was water hunting no idea how but my screen is already scratched like crazy. great machine but horrible screen cover

      @TheTexanDetector  2 місяці тому +1

      Yeah my Legend screen has a few scratches as well. I just ordered some of the nano glass protectors. Comes 3 in a pack I'm going to put one on the legend, double score, and triple score. If i like them I'll start linking them in my videos.

    that 80 second intro kills it for me... sigh... I understand branding but can ya knock it down to 15 to 20 seconds....

    • @TheTexanDetector
      @TheTexanDetector  Рік тому

      Thanks for your input. Actually my intro used to be much longer when I was part of the White's Field team lol. I have cut it down a few times since then. Its definitely not about branding I just try to show some of my finds and some of the different stuff I do on my channel. Thanks for watch and thanks for taking the time to give me some feedback.

    For coins Looking like a close way to know VDI with legend is to subtract 40 from what youre used to on another 1-99 vdi detector, preferably a nokta, and it gets you almost there.
    I have the legend amd simplex lite and pretty much the number from simplex minus 40 is almost there. In time you can learn each but going to a lefend is a change and a way to get you started is to do that.
    Fornme at least its worked with my experimenting. Within +/- 5 of what the math is lol

    • @TheTexanDetector
      @TheTexanDetector  9 місяців тому +1

      I see what you did there I like it. Personally once I know what the range is I pretty much split it up into ranges in my head. Kind of like the old needle displays lol. It is nice to learn where the sweet spots are for certain coins and targets. In the end if it sounds good I'm digging it lol happy hunting!

    Love the beautiful background horses! I like the simple way you found to do a real world check the VDIs without having to dig each one. Useful video. Your next one should include pull tabs, beer bottle tops and aluminum bottle tops that all ring up as something good!

    • @TheTexanDetector
      @TheTexanDetector  2 роки тому

      Yes I plan on a part two of trash targets. I also plan on adding a few tips on how to tell they are trash before you dig. I definitely have a nice view the perks of living in the country. Thanks for watching.

    TD and CC, since we’re now up to 1. 09 on the updates on the legend, do you believe that these numbers still hold fast? Have a great day and happy! Texas T

    • @TheTexanDetector
      @TheTexanDetector  2 роки тому +1

      Well with a couple hunts under my belt with 1.09 i would say yes. All the targets I've dug have still been the numbers I would expect. First thing I did after updating was throw a few coins on the ground to see how they rung up. Everything still seems to be true to the numbers in this test video. If I ever see any changes in future updates I will due a new VDI chart video. I still plan on doing one for trash targets and ways to avoid them so stay tuned for that. Thanks for watching and happy hunting!

    Just a heads up the VDI numbers change when using single frequency and Multi. 😜

    • @TheTexanDetector
      @TheTexanDetector  2 роки тому +2

      Yes I know. They can also change due to the minerals in the soil, depth, and many other factors. This is more of just a guide to get you started definitely not a rule. But like I said to start if you open the box and put it in park for an average shallow target this should be pretty accurate.

    Pennies usually ring up around 44 for me here in Canada, give or take a few points, but the weird thing that is true for all three types we have, copper, zinc, steel all 40's

    • @TheTexanDetector
      @TheTexanDetector  Рік тому

      Wow that's pretty interesting. Our Zincs ring up much lower in the ground around the 38 range. Maybe your copper plating it thinker than ours 🤔.

      @digginggopher Рік тому +1

      @@TheTexanDetector I have a park called wasted penny park, because all the Penny's are wasted zinc or steel, and you find one every second target they do ring up a bit different then ones in good shape

    Awesome!! I was having some challenges with VDIs in the 32-35 range specifically, and figuring out the war nickel range so it’s good to see someone sharing this info (without trying to sell me an ebook!!). I thought that maybe war nickels would ring higher, so GTK that it’s the same! Thanks!!

    Yesterday I found a 14k men's wedding band and it rung a 35-40, so those 30's VDI can certainly be chunky gold rings. Thanks for the video. I absolutely love the Legend after using a Sovereign for 20 years

    • @TheTexanDetector

      People think gold is only low tones and vdi's. Bigger the gold the higher the numbers and tone. I remember finding a 14 gold class ring and it was a solid 42 on the MX Sport. I said hmm that's interesting and boom big gold lol. Congrats on the ring brother and happy hunting!
