What Is Wrong With My Nokta Legend

- My Nokta Legend is acting up again. Its starting to show the same symptoms my failed Legend showed before it got worse. This beach gave up lots of coins, but not much else.

Jon's & Amy's Legend settings are as follows:
Mode: Beach mode Multi Dry (MD)
Recovery speed : 5-7 (depends how trashy the beach is)
Iron Filter: 4
Stability : 1
Ground Suppressor (GS): 0 (off)
BC (bottle cap rejection): 6
Audio Gain: 1 (anything higher on the beach the machine becomes really chatty)
Tones: Ptones
Tone Volume: Max (10) on all 1-60
Tone Frequency Notches 1-10: 1 (makes the 1-10 iron signals a deep grunt)
Tone Frequency Notches 11-60: 27
Tone Break: Default 1-10 Iron, 11-60 normal tones
Threshold: Default
Threshold Frequency: Default
Sensitivity: will vary but from 23-28 depending on the beach

Found the same to be true with my legend this weekend while in the water. Was submerged, but constant 10 on my screen and falsing constantly. Not sure what to do yet....
On another note, what kind of headlamp do you use? I like the throw of it.
Wow that is just no fair on the Legend. Going to have to let you try my Equinox 700.

Set the ground balance, problem solved.
Hi Keith, Well of course, Ground balance is always done. It does not resolve the issue unfortunately, I wish it was that simple. I always ground balance in wet and dry. My last legend, Nokta agreed something was a miss as the behaviour was crazy eratic. Which is why they sent me a new machine. It's not bad enough to where i cannot use it in salt wet or salt water, i hope it doesnt get to that point again. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Hey Jon or Amy I am sorry that I missed the last live stream and will try to be present for the next. If any, consolation I did watch at a later and thought it was a good steam.I feel that it could be good thing if you two would look in to checking out The South Florida Metal Detecting Group never know but it may pay off with new subscript.
And by the way date on Presidential $ coin is on the edge and I know that because I just recovered one on my last hunt I will be posting my finds with the group as I always do.Ok my friends to the north keep on swinging and make it fun and Happy Hunting 🙂👍..

how many hours did you spend out there? when you started it was daylight, a few minutes in it was dark.
1000 plus subscriptions that is nice indeed. Going to have to meet sometime and let you try my Equinox for a while. The Legend problems are hard to figure out.
I am praying it doesn't get worse. My last one was unusable in the wet sand or salt water. This machine is only a few months old..
I had a similar problem. It was a crack in the coil epoxy. Nokta honored the warranty and quickly sent me a new coil.
Im taking my legend to the beach next week, I hope I don't run into any problems 😕

OH boy! Were you using the new coil with the old machine? Is this the same coil?

Did this happen to you after a storm lass time?
You may have to go back to using the X-Terra Pro and the Simplex + that I had once and any kind of EMI it was a totally Joke Junk Detector and I was told by Notka Macro Product's email to do a frequency shift and that is a good Joke that doesn't work with the interference it was horrible and I would leave the park and not return but now that I have the X-Terra Pro, it holds it Head up and gets to work and No MORE Problem's.... Because I'm Not Using the Simplex + ANYMORE......OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT NOTKA MACRO MAKES...... AND THEY ARE A HOT STYLE OF DETECTOR THAT WILL NEED A MAJOR UPDATE, BUT THE SIMPLEX + IS ALREADY ON THE DISCONTINUED DETECTOR LIST ......
