Thanks for not only explaining things but at a slower pace than most. Others already mastered this thing and run through the menus so fast I can follow.
Thanks for the video, I have just retired my 800 and now using the Legend. Prospector Cash is my metal detecting buddy and dive partner. Can’t wait to see how the Legend does underwater.
Great vid, TY. When i got mine, I put the unit on my counter with sensitivity all the way down, and went through the manual a few times before taking it out. Still needed to refer to the manual, but it helped with the learning curve.
Good video, Scott. Legend looks like a nice detector, well thought out and build ruggedly. It’s a winner for N-M and for detectorists. Keep Digging, Scott.
You know your stuff and you explain it very well. Thank you. I just purchased the Legend and am looking forward to putting what I’m learning from you to use.
Another excellent series of videos beginning, if you have Nokta Makro Legend you need to follow this series. The journey down the rabbit hole is well worth the trip!!
Love the video 's they help a lot of people. I'm loving learning how to set the legend up in different detecting conditions so I can get the best out of it like any technical machine imo it's only as good as the operator. I have a Garrett 400i, Garrett ATMax, Minlab540, & a Nox600 they are all great machines and in the right conditions and hands they will find you some amazing stuff. In my humble opinion a skilled operator will often find more with an entry level detector than someone who doesn't have a clue how to set up and use a technical machine. If your not technically minded keep it simple you will still find some great stuff and enjoy the hobby more.
Thank you very much I was looking for a more detailed description and tutorial in the legend settings also I wondered why you said you weren’t gonna keep it for very long OK well thank you for the info this is Carolyn
Hi Carolyn, glad you found this helpful. I only had the machine on loan for a few weeks when I did these videos. Its a great machine and well worth the money. Enjoy.
Thanks Scott, I like these instructional vids. I've been watching vids of all the new detectors and the Legend looks like a great option for people that don't want to drop the extra money for an Equinox or XP. It lines up in price with an AT pro which I swung for 7 years as well as a Fisher F75, I'd grab a Nokta Legend if the videos I've watched are accurate about Legend performance in iron. I don't expect the Legend to perform like a Minelab or XP in its price range but think it will do very well against the competition in its price point. BTW, my dog always drops sticks on my machine when I'm digging the plug. PITA, but I take him just the same.
Thanks for the comment. Yes this machine is light years ahead of anything Garrett has put out imo. This machine will struggle like most do in iron but I've heard they are coming out with an iron bias update so we have to wait and see.
Good video. I have a legeng, new generation with lk30 coil being shipped now from metal detectors warehouse? I had been using a garret at pro, but found it to difficult to use in pro settings, which is 50% of its charm. Just needed simpler. Was going to get the simplex, but had enough money for the legend. Hope it works out better for me. I'll check our your other videos. Thanks
I used an AT Pro for years in Pro mode and I don't think the Legend will be easier for you but it might be, just depends on how quickly you can master the menu. The AT Pro is a very simple to use machine. The menu navigation of the Legend has a lot to be desired but its worth the price of the detector. Just takes time to learn where everything is. I think you will enjoy it.
There is one setting you have missed that's the ground stability ( which I believe it came in in later version's) . I understand that the noise suppression and ground balance should be the first adjustments to be made but what concerns me is what order the rest of the settings i.e. sensitivity then ground suppression and so on ?
Hi Scott, May I suggest yo mark the control buttons with a white or chrome paint. This will make your Tutorial easier to follow. I have used a Chrome 0.7mm this size is easy to use. Thanks.
I would just use Field for the woods. Its just a setup for cleaner ground whereas Park you will tend to have more trash etc. No machine that I know of has a program for the woods.
Seems like to me by watching multiple videos of this machine. It’s not hard to figure out and it’s a great machine for the price. And how does it compare to the Equinox 600 and the 800.
Hi, Scott! I would like to ask you for an opinion on an issue: in a certain circumstance, such as being in a forest, raining and there is a thick layer of dead and wet leaves, but the soil underneath is dry, would you use M3 or one of the other 2 multifrequencies? Thanks a lot!
Sorry I thought I answered this already. To be honest I would stick to the other 2 multi freqs if the ground is dry. If the ground is really wet and saturated then I would probably use M3 but I think you will hear the same targets no matter which program you use. There isn't that much of a difference but you could get some instability where the M3 may help.
@@MentalMetal Tnanks! What I noticed was that when I switched from M2 to M3, a lot of the little chirps just vanished. Still, not sure about the effectiveness of M3 in these conditions, since it was only my second day out with my new buddy, the Legend :) But there is plenty of time to test it, thank God! Thanks again and have a good day!
Here I am returning a year later and awakening my Legend after dusting it off. I can tell you the battery is still fully charged after a years slumber while life got in the way. I can see none of my posts were clear, probably in too big of a rush. Returning = Here to review controls again. Still have the Nokta. 😉
Hi. Anybody out there tried one out in the goldfields of the US. I'm about to give it a go down under in western Australia, any pointers would be appreciated.
@@MentalMetal No worries, I shall play around with the legend and post my findings, I have already noticed a couple of basic things. 1 the pinpoint and on button should be switched around as there is a tendency to keep turning the machine off when you reach for the pinpoint. 2 the least used display is the mode, park, field, beach and goldfields, this takes pride of place, when really your ferrous and non ferrous should be there right where you can see it and not down the bottom where it reflects the light and you have to squint to see it. I must admit the legend is fantastic lon the beach. My first time out with it, I turned it on selected beach mode, synced the head phones, started sweeping and within two feet got my first coin an old Australian 10 cent piece, three hours later I packed up and bought lunch with my findings. That's pretty cool, at that rate the nokta legend will have paid for it's self in six months, but I want to master this machine on the goldfields, once I get my eyes and ears tuned in, I believe it will out shine a lot of other detectors. Will keep you posted. Dan.
I just bought one and the screen doesn’t have a protector on it and I had a vertical scuff mark on the screen from the packaging. Please write or call company, bullshyt, put a protector screen on the detector for shipping like every other electronic device
I didn’t know there was anyone that didn’t already talk about the machine. Comparison have been done between this machine and the equinox 800 the nox is still better all round

You're welcome!
I just won a Nokta Legend WHP and I liked your video...Well done ..I subscribed and can't wait to get to know this machine....👍
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for the tutorial! Just watched it with my 9 year old that just bought the Legend! Thanks from Mason Merc Metal Detecting!
That is awesome!
Your 9 year old just bought the legend? Interesting.
I was getting so frustrated. Thank you so much!
glad to hear it helped.

Tom is a good dude. Good luck.
Thanks! I won my Legend on a contest with Mainly dirt fishing. Been swinging the Nox for 1 1/2 years but need to learn this one. Happy detecting!
Good luck!

Thanks for sharing your experience! That's a great way to approach it.
Really helpful video for a person who has just purchased the legend
Glad to hear that!
Thanks for the clear basic Legend 101, I have my 1st metal detector on the way (The Legend) and your video is sure to help me get swinging!
Glad to help and good luck!
Can just hear Rocky saying "Better give me a cameo after leaving me all weekend". Looks like a great machine and great video for setup.
He was not happy with me I can tell you that. Haha.
Mine is on its way to me.
Great video.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
Can't wait to find what's under the surface!
Thank you!
Glad to help and good luck, you will enjoy the machine.

Well said! Thank you.
Hi Scott. Could you do some more/update videos on the legend. Just got one and rewatching some of your videos. Even some regular land hunting videos
I just got the machine back so yes I will do more at some point.
Thank you. Good intro to the machine!
Mine will be arriving mid next week.
Awesome Good luck!

My Legends on the way thanks for the quick guide.
No problem 👍
I just got mine. Was doing ground balance wrong. Thanks!
Sure glad to help.
Thanks, just received my Nokta Legend and I'm sure I'll be returning. 😎
Hopefully returning to the channel and not returning the Legend :-)

Hi, bro, i like to answer how depth can scan the machine?
Appreciate it bro
My pleasure Robert.
Thanks Scott you made it easy to follow AAAA+++
Very welcome!
A bit confused about search modes...park, field, beach and gold. What about wooded/ forested areas? Would you have to custumized the machine then?
I would just use Field for the woods. Its just a setup for cleaner ground whereas Park you will tend to have more trash etc. No machine that I know of has a program for the woods.

Thanks 👍 and welcome back!
Very nice, thx!
Thank you too!
Well done Scott. Why aren't you keeping the Legend?
Too many machines at the moment. It's great for the money but the Deus 2 and Nox are my preference.

Needs some fine tunning from Nokta !
That's a bummer. I've had no issues so far.

Could have mentioned why sensitivity gets changed.
Why are you not keeping the Legend?
If I was shopping for a new detector this would be on the list but I have many machines that already cover what this one can do.

I only had one to demo and check out. I have since returned it.
so are you a 'minelab' guy when you are not working?
If I was I wouldn't be doing this video.
