- The reason for our mammoth roadtrip! Yes, it's the 23rd World Meeting of 2CV Friends in Croatia - #2CVtoCroatia #Citroen100 #Party
Here's a bit of a look at what a World Meeting is all about. There are 2CVs, Dyanes, Amis, homebrew paint jobs, DAKs, Tomos and Cimos locally-produced Citroens and, above all else, people having lots of fun!

A testament of utility engineering excellence. Many of these little 2 cilinder aircooled boxers have been running and driving for more than 50 years. And they probably still will after another 50 years. It shames me to say that in their days and as a youth I did not particulary like them, because I failed to see the sheer genius of their simple, but robust technology. .
You came you saw and you conquered ! Having moved well outside of your normal channel comfort zone you have over the past few weeks produced some of the very best viewing on UA-cam. Once again I have been glued to my seat lapping up every minute of the video. Your slightly disjointed and random roving reporter style is very refreshing because it avoids sensationalism whilst still capturing the quirky and interesting. I can't wait to see your travels further afield later in the year - I predict your subscribers and viewing figures will continue to grow from strength to strength. Brilliant.
Could n't agree more
Stunning content
What He said! - with adroit articulation that tantalised exquisitely as I concurred, verily!
@@thepofmeister - Yeah! What?
It feels like some strange yet utterly brilliant combination of John Peel and Michael Palin. With the merest hint of Alan Whicker.
hope you had a basket of eggs with you as you were driving over the field ;-)
Brilliant line about brian cox, spat me tea out.
I soooooo want a 2CV! Looks like a great event.
I know you don't drink. But I have been staying at the in-laws for three days now, and we have today lost the cricket and I have broken my sunglasses. However I have just made my bedtime excuses and snuck a beer up to my bedroom, and there is a new Hubnut video to enjoy. Tonight, you are my sanity.
6:35 Well there's a side you don't see much from HubNut, attracting the local birds
I don't think I've ever seen so many 2CV's in one place before. Quite an amazing event by the looks of it. You covered it well. I absolutely adore the 2CV, Dyane and the Ami's.
My dad and his friends all had 2cvs during the 90s. One of them painted it different colours and wrote THE SHED on the bonnet. Another painted it to look like a bumblebee
I'm enjoying these 2CV meet so very much. Have you to thank for sharing and taking me around all over the convention. Long live the 2CV World Meeting. Can't wait for more videos from you with Elly.
"Nice chips".....so, a massive thanks for showing 2 CV has a place not only there, but throughout the world . Elly, patiently in place, taking it all in from a distance, having delivered you to the event, and readying for the return with new king pins awaiting.
I think Ellie has the prettiest colour-scheme of all the 2 CVs.
I think the model line "Dolly" mostly came with that colour-scheme
This is what the world should be like. The city of the future, everyone in 2cvs and tents.
Great videos - MANY thanks. Did anyone turn up in a Sahara? That would be an adventure: Wales to Croatia and back, with double the fuel consumption, double the noise... Good Times. Keep up the good work. Best wishes.
Yes. Just failed to catch a Sahara on video.
I think it's so funny that every single 2CV event that Hubnut attends he always finds his friend's car among the masses. Great video. I think the 2CV community is the red headed step child of the Citroen family!!! HEHHE
I think it would be difficult to imagine a Ferrari or Porsche meet on that particular field. If any surface was designed to show of the 2CV's suspension, it has to be that one. Much respect to that chap at the side of the main road who came prepared with a deck chair, can of beer and camera. Well done! I have to say, I am really going to miss these videos when the European adventure finishes. In the mean time, what a ride!
"Nice.....chips"
Bloody cool event 👍makes me want a 2CV and move back to Europe 😁
Fantastic! What a great show, thunderstorm and epic adventure by Chan 😎
You should be so proud of what you've achieved with this series! Absolutely fantastic to watch.
Love love love that camper.
It’s very popular with the ladies. They seem to love the 2CV. Very nice too some of them.
Finding friends on a site like this is a prime example of what the app 'what3words' was made for!
That reminds me I've got to get my sewing machine fixed -OW! OW! Stop throwing things, I'm going, I'm going!
The TAM Truck was produced at Maribor until 1996, from the sixties on the company used licences for german " Magirus-Deutz" lighter trucks with aircooled diesel engines.
Ian what a fantastic road trip, wish you and Ellie Godspeed, on your return .
Thanks again for turning this old American guy onto 2cv's. I am absolutely fascinated by the engineering of these cars that has endured to this day. The variants are awesome as well such as the Dyane and Ami
What a sight. All the same but all different and all fabulous. The world as Citroen imagined it in their dreams. I can't add any more than John North below. Cheers.
I would love one. Very useful in my life for sure.
The sound of those kingpins always make me nervous haha!
You can never tire of the noise of the 2-cylinder Citroen. 😁😍
What a great event. Friendly people great to see them having fun.
Ian, Have to thank you for posting these videos of your trip and the event.
I used to move around in a Ami-8 and in a Mehari (made here in fiberglass reinforced plastic). Both had 3CV engines.(In fact all Citroens made in the Argentine and Uruguay had M-28 ("3cv",603 cc)engines). And worked as Citroen mechanic for 20 years they are tehe most reliable cars I´ve ever saw.A friend has a 3CV Charleston and he loads it with wife and dog and makes 1000 miles every year for holydays. He prefers it to its new Fiat 2018 car for holydays!.(BTW all the Meharís sold in the Rio de la Plata zone where make in a little town in my country(Uruguay) and a guy still owns the molds to make the fiberglass parts for the body.
Hi Ian,well what can one say,a great gathering of Gallic grandness on grass ?? (sort of)much mindfulness musings in the mud,not to mention a cornucopia and crescendo of Citroen's and some of which have doubtful dubiousness descendancy........basically what a super turnout of cars from all over Europe I was not aware that there was so many 2CV's still around, thanks for the entry ticket, most enjoyable, and now ????? the journey home ??......... best wishes
A simply amazing event compete 2CV overload now what an amazing journey
Travelling from Zagreb to Vienna yesterday, and there were many 2CV's going back home, some pulling big camper trailers, laboring bravely on the motorway while other cars were zipping along at 130 - 150 km'h
Hub nut, Your dry humour brings me back time and time again.
I too was in Croatia with my family by this time , although I went by plane and to Dubrovnik. I surely enjoyed it. I think on our 3rd day we got rain all day with thunderstorms. Beautiful country it is 👍
Thoroughly enjoyed this , really loving going back over these old videos. Reminded me of the old VW meets in the late 80's , great festival atmosphere. Thank you
"...this one is German, I think...been to Poland before." 9:26 Hilarious!!!
"That's German I think, yup, it's been to Poland before."
You need a 2cv van in your life, keep up the good work 😂👍
What a great event. It's a brilliant example of what can happen when people have something in common and don't take themselves too seriously.. Rest of the world please take note.
I seem to remember Tomos mopeds many years ago. Very interesting stuff. Thanks so much for sharing. Excellent stuff.
All those 2cvs sounds like a 1970 s typing pool
Really looking forward to this one !
The 2CV event looks amazing (trumps the French one!), as does the whole 2CV experience. Until I discovered your brilliant channel, I had never really appreciated them but my life is becoming more and more full of want for a CV of my own! I love the whole classlessness of it all and the seemingly endless ways in which to personalise, restore, modify......
23.50 is probably my fave but they all appeal!
Another fantastic video! You’ve nailed it with this adventure!
Fantastic video - very well done Elle & Ian
Really liked the look of the 2cv van reminds me a little of the Renault 4 van.
Nice walkabout through town spotting all the 2CV's.
Nice video yet again, thanks Ian.
Like the variety of 2cvs styles and types, never seen some of them especially a miairi and 2cv limo
Thanks for sharing this wicked event with us. I am impressed there are so many 2CV's still roadworthy in the world & doubly impressed by this meeting ! Enjoy Ian 👍
Glad you made it, random internet man must be proud !!! Have a good journey back.
I would definitely stop in Bavaria if you are going that way :)
At our Corvair convention a couple of weeks ago we were at an overpriced hotel near Chicago. They did have a huge parking lot for all the events and a huge room for indoor parts vendors and a few museum cars. Most parts vendors were outside. Just under two million Corvairs were made between 1960-1969.
These events are lots of fun, you never get to see fellow collectors the rest of the year.
Ian, great respect for you and your journey to my country. Regards to you and your Elly... Love your chanel and what you doing for 2CV community.
Great video! That was a lot of fun to virtually tag along with.
You arrived safe and sound :) It really does look quite the gathering, so many different colours, bodies and styles, it's been great to track your journey with you, just remember to put your feet up from time to time and let it soak in. Wonderful :)
Looked like a lot of fun!
Great adventure so far, can't wait to see the videos on the return home. Great work
Ha! Another Graeme Wilson enjoying these videos!
That town is like some weird kind of dream, where every other car is a 2CV
20:10 lovely Ami 6 late version from 1966/67 , in french called L' amissis, mean little Frollein !
Next meeting hosted by the swiss, better start saving .
Hi Ian, what a awesome 2cv event,so many variations of Citroen cars, paint work on most of them were very interesting to see.
Great fun indeed! Muchas gracias for the bonus thunderstorm footage.
What a nice 2cv festival that was. I enjoyed every second of your video. Couldn’t help but smile all 38 minutes.
You got me me thinking about owning a 2cv once. Very very nice little cars and people driving them. This meet has such a different vibe as other car meets where most cars are lowered and tupperwared.
Agree totally with John's comment. Essential viewing, very well done on reaching your goal of the 'World Meeting'. More adventures to follow, excellent....
Extraordinary.
Good effort. Well done.
I do love your channel, thank you.
What an absolutely stunning trip this has turned out to be. Your videos and presentation have opened many an eye and continue to do so. First the Citroen event and now this.......truly amazing and such good fun to watch. Some of the best footage on UA-cam. Very good work my friend.
superb!!!!
Inspiring content, you are sharing a big slice of your life with the world & I & so many others want to see more. You take the average & polish it a bit then forget something, perfect.
That looked a fun event! Looking forward to more adventures on your way home. Safe travels :)
Brilliant! At 24:00, very cool rusty 2cv. It would take too long to comment on everything, eye candy overload. Thanks 🙏🏻 for posting this. 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Lovely Jubbly, must feel great seeing all condition/models, and all mixed together.
Another great report eagerly awaiting the next:)))))
Some 2CVer's seem a bit eccentric. I am truly stunned at the limo. I hope they have a larger engine in that. Also, the articulated 2CV that was part car and part trailer. The variety and creative ways people have expressed their personality in their cars, it's just amazing.
brilliant Sunday afternoon entertainment thanks Ian
Am I the only person who, after watching that video, wants to buy a 2CV?!
Some amazing vehicles and story’s
10:30 A Lincoln in Croatia?! Who would have thought? That's like seeing a 2CV on a huge Texas highway. x D
I've actually seen both Lincolns (and other US-made cars) in Croatia, and a 2CV in Texas.
Big event there. Halfway through the journey Ian, make it a nice return trip. Elly does great when she can ride every day.
I think the full convertible ones are beautiful....
My Croatia. Country where people drive various bins around just so they could see whats going on. Very kind of us indeed. 😂
What a superb video, Ian. Very enjoyable indeed. :)
Mission acomplished! Well done!
Lovely collection of 2CVs and the derivatives there, lots of oddball creations too, but that motorbike, wow, that looked amazing!!! Really wish I could have been there to see all this, but alas, no way of doing so, but, oh well... :)
Well done. Glad you made it and are having a great time. Hope she gets you home before those noises get too bad!
This what lovely site and you are the man to go all that way and hope you get back soon love it bro nigel
I do like the look of the Amis
Another good video Ian,looks like 2cv heaven, you made it ....Elly made it,well done and keep doing what you do ,camera angles,no mic, wobbly hands ,see you on the return leg in a future video... take care.
Wow so cool! 🚘
what a fantastic adventure
So many nice 2cv's, very good. That red Ami with the round headlight is indeed very delicious.
Wow, that looks so much fun. I never knew that little car was so popular. Hope you’re enjoying your much earned holiday!
Antics are occurring , haha love it
Ooh the yellow Belgian 2 CV was nice. 😍 I get gooey at the sight of colour coded wheels on any car.
I'm sure Brian Cox would be delighted to have his likeness painted on a bonnet of an old Citroen! 😁
Great work Ian. Enjoying your dry sense of humour! Eg: the waste bin getting carried on the lorry for a look around the site. 😅
Great video. Lovely to see people in Europe happy and having so much fun. In short supply in the UK.
Looks more fun than the Triumph Spitfire Weekend in Venlo, Holland that I went to twice (I think) with my brother, supposed to be in his GT6 but ended up going in my Vitesse, than the following year in my Humber Sceptre, which was in the Spitfire convoy as the Sceptre and a Rapier, even though I was taken by a German in his Spitfire. Dam those remote control Rootes cars, they get everywhere! Now I want a Ami8!
Superb content Ian. Can't believe the months gone so quickly. A real pleasure to watch and some superb moments. I told my mum and she remarked you should be on television! Have to agree. Who needs TopGear when you've got TopNut ! :) Love it :D
Alex Child Top Gear is fake. This is real and if you ask me, exactly what a medium like the internet should be about.
What a fantastic event. Thanks for sharing.
I was curiously looking at 2cv adverts last night. Some amazing restored versions. Looks like a great community.
Edit. That cream colour gerry (hope that's correct) at 33.40 is a car I would drive.
