[EP12] 2CV to Croatia: Mission accomplished! 1800 miles!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 сер 2019
- Yes, it's the momentous day in which I actually took my 1986 Citroen 2CV6 to Croatia! 1800 miles after leaving home, we reached the Adriatic town of Bakar.
The next video will include the 23rd World Meeting of 2CV Friends from Samobor, Croatia. Before that meeting, I headed to the coast. For lunch. - Авто та транспорт
Definitely one of my favourite youtubers . No expensive camera trickery no camera man . Just one man and his collection of unique cars and travels . Keep it up Hubnut look forward to future videos.
"What! No 'B' roll?" .............No! Just 2cv Roll!!
Could not agree more with you, Mitchell Chong.
No unique cars - as they all have his ownership in common ;)
what an adventure, realy love it..... i'm a classic mini fan but after i've seen all this with Elly maybe thinking of someday to buy a 2cv what a lovely car... sorry for my bad English, i'm from Belgium....
Your English is infinitely better than "Belgish"! I know what you mean. Even my wife is quite keen which helps!
Your English is better than most English people who comment on UA-cam, well done you put most of us to shame. And even better your a classic Mini fan :)
@@MrOvershoot" Sorry my Eeengleesh" is what's known as fishing for compliments. Half the world speaks perfect English in addition to their own language, self included, without expecting praise.
I am noticing I am not just watching this videos for the cars, but for someone who has the same taste like me for places to visit. Beautiful sceneries, quiet places, nice driving roads and avoiding tourist traps like the plague (like the previous video). I love it.
Thanks so much Ian for having us on this journey. The scenery is breathtaking.
Now thinking about leaving the US..
This series is very inspiring Ian.
Elly adds character to all location shots of the beauty of Europe, and continues to amaze and show how resilient she truly is. To witness this little car not only get 45 mpg, but take on these mountain passes and motorways speaks to true engineering of years gone by, "marking her territory as she goes". Bang on.
Well done Elly ! Ian, I'm so astonished by how beautiful that Croatian coast looks . Just marvelous . I look forward to the 2CV meeting video 👍👍👍
What an outstanding achievement getting your little air cooled machine to the Adriatic, basically on your own.
Thanks for entertaining us with your anecdotes and comments, massive respect for all your work and getting it online for us all to enjoy.
Loved your spot of the red Zastava when you got into Slovenia. The 128 is another car celebrating its half century in 2019. Unbelievable to think that 50 years old Fiat were putting lightweight alloy head belt driven OHC engines in small FWD family cars.
After all these years, and we still get wiper action! Love it :) Thanks for another road trip adventure!
Admiring "a lovely big pipe there" driving along the harbor was a pretty funny comment. :o)
As someone who sells pipes for a living, I can only approve of this mention within the video. Many thanks
Fantastic scenery. You will look back on these videos in years to come with very fond memories.
Astonishing roadtrip this has been , with breath taking views and much more! Thanks Ian for taking all of us into the passenger seat 😁😄
The only youtuber not to have heard of 'B Roll' video............Just 2cv Roll !!! Love this channel!
No shoes in the house is more of a cultural thing than OCD - it's tradition in Slavic and Balkan countries. Same goes for ironing underwear - quite normal in some parts of the world.
Great video! Lots of nice roads around there.
also here in the nordics..never ever wear shoes inside the house.
Indeed, I'm from Poland and shoes are strictly off-premise inside the house or inside an apartment. Honestly, it's difficult for us to get our heads around the concept of bringing the street dirt onto the carpeted floors of the living quarters!
@@barsorrro Ive a friend from Poland and she always tells me to take my shoes off when I go around to her house. Now I know why :-)
He should be grateful she didn't starch 'em....
Shoes off is fine. It was the forcing me to wear horrible disposable slippers I really wasn't happy about.
Well done Ian! I’ve been captivated by these videos, I was rooting for you at the start when you realised the engine had to be changed, nothing like a last minute snag and a deadline to increase the drama! Nonetheless the old girl has cracked on and done you proud, thanks for sharing it with us!
Great video. At times when I am unable to travel far afield due to external factors it is exiting to watch this adventure and think how it would be great to do it in my old 90. Well done Ian, you deserve a nice glass of cold orange juice by the coast after all that driving.
Congratulations on your brilliant adventure, Elly! You've transported your human all the way to the Balkans!
Another great video. Way better and more interesting than those mainstream travel shows. And with a presenter we can all relate to. Thanks.
I think it's safe to say that many people are enjoying your travelog and it's a happy morning when I see the notification pop up that there is another HubNut video available. A big thank you for your time and considerable effort in putting up these videos and taking us along with you on your latest adventure. Happy trails!
Well done Ian and Elly! An awesome adventure that’s giving me itchy feet! 👍
Good evening from New Zealand!
Fantastic work, that's an epic journey. Good to see you on good driving roads after the tedium of Northern Europe. It's a bit out of your way, but if you can get down the coast a bit you will be blown away by how stunning Croatia is. I once had an enforced stay in Makarska (paperwork problems) and I'll never forget the beauty of the Adriatic and the town. An d you would love Trogir of course. The road down that way was a bit scary when I drove it due to bonkers drivers, but you'll never forget the views.
Imagine all of Europe as a playground! I’m from Canada which is beautiful but the idea of so many countries and cultures is fascinating!
Excellent short update with wiper action. Just what I needed to go with my cup of tea !
Well done dude! awesome series!
Splendid yet again. I’m loving this... from the central USA where I live, any trip to Europe is a dreadfully expensive undertaking, and usually limited to the major cities. To join you on your drive through these countries, staying off the beaten path, is simply a treat.
Thanks. I met a 2CV friend from Michigan at the 2CV meet. Definitely an expensive trip!
Yet more brilliant stuff Ian. Really enjoying watching your videos and can't wait for the next one.. 👍👍
Ian, I've loved every minute of this. I hope you are planning further trips. No TV based series has ever come near for me.
👏 ... have enjoyed every moment of this trip, like a series of interactive postcards.
You have made a 2CV fan of me and of course, your channel.
Looking forward to what happens next! 💕
Well done elly and ian we have been very entertained watching your full adventure so far, such an achievement in that brilliant little 2cv 👍
Thank you for these videos......brilliant 👍
What nice scenery and quiet. Thanks for sharing your amazing adventure. Years ago I worked for a large retailer here in the U.S.A. We sold some very good little hams and canned bacon that came from Zagreb. Might be good over an open fire.
In my top ten You Tube favorites so nice to share your adventures with you and Elly
Amazing. Keep going Ian, love your style and the fact that you keep it real. A real highlight of the day.
Ian ive really enjoyed watching all your videos of your trip to Croatia, i like the way you dont go to all the tourist places but instead go off the beaten track and take us all on a wonderful journey with breath taking scenery, i wondered what it would of been like in my 57 ripple going up those mountains in Austria/Germany etc, 1st gear and walking pace for sure, thanks so much for sharing your travels with us, see you in a field somewhere 😎😃
Really did take my hat off to those who drove there in Ripples!
Great video as usual from my favorite Chanel. You make it feel like we are in Elly with you and are talking to us there.
Good to see you looking more refreshed in this video, and lovely looking place.
It just gets better with very turn. Stunning stuff. Can't wait for the next one.

You have now reached your destination! Congratulations Mr Hubnut! Enjoying all the videos from your road trip, also loved the Audi 100 test. Was recently in hospital and your videos really helped pass the time. Have made a small donation via your website as a small thank you.
Thank you. Hope you're on the mend.
This has been a great adventure Mr. Hubnut

Well done my friend, very proud of what you have done
Wonderful, wonderful. Have enjoyed every installment of your's and Elly's epic adventure. Well done both of you.
Fantastic scenery, gorgeous views what a road trip you and Elly did brilliantly well and should pat yourselves on the back and bonnet for what you have acheived.
Really enjoyed the whole trip and look forward to your next offerings.
Take care and have a safe journey back and thanks again Ian and Elly.
Brilliant! Well done Ian & well done Elly!
Really enjoying your journey across Europe what beautiful views and towns looking forward to the next installment.
You were so close to Rovinj, which is my favourite little town in Europe.
Great video yet again.
Great locations Ian and another great report and liking the use of maps lets us see locations .
Congrats for completing your mission! And hats off for Elly. What a tough car!
Croatia 🇭🇷 looks beautiful. Because my beetle is my work vehicle, I’ve been reluctant to take it on a long road trip. After watching you and Elly hitting the road, I’m feeling more inclined to go on a road trip in the beetle.
standing ovation for elly!! well done. cracking series of vlog sofar !
Another enchanting video Ian.
Hi Ian,you made it to Croatia, that's awesome, great video looks nice and sunny there, bring on the next video 👍.
Well done that man! All without power steering. Only three wheel nuts too!🤘⛱️
Gosh Ian. I'm envious of this epic trip. I've done a lot of Europe by bike and car.
Bulgaria next month for me. Have fun ...
Watching this and looking out of my window at the constant rain...

Great to see that the catastrophic nightmare of a few weeks ago has turned around and become the dream trip that we're all enjoying with you, well done Elly and thank you Ian.
Well done Ian!!!! X
Awesome! Thank you.
NIce presentation. I enjoyed it.
very nice road trip hub, i cant drive that far so thanks for showing me around. Luvly places. Don't tell anyone but I used to own a Reliant . Oh Dear!
Lovely video Ian...Really inspiring!...And good to know I'm not the only one who doesn't iron clothes...:-)
Really enjoyed the videos of you getting this far. Love Croatia, you would love the island of Cres, probably not in the height of the tourist season!
Not bad going at all considering the engine in Elly was an unknown quantity and was fitted hours before you left! Amazing scenery, what a place! Scotland impressed me but Croatia is proper next level stuff.
I just keep saying "Wow" as I am watching these vids because it's just one vista after another, as I am sure you have noticed :-) You do make me laugh. "Lovely big pipe there." I dread to think what is coming out of it. No doubt a tourist attraction. You are clearly enjoying yourself. Cheers.
Well you have made it and what a run you have in the lovely car love it bro see you when you get back nigel
Good work, well done
Good job Hubnut you have reached Croatia my former homeland, i hope you have good time, I remeber 2cv was called SPACHEK in my country. I hope my people treat you good, i love your channel
Duck? Croatia was lovely and the people friendly.
Beautiful, could do with moving the 43 sticker to a a rear window. Looking forward to the next one.
Hi Ian, really lovely drive today, visiting more places that I have always wanted to go to but sadly never have,so thanks for the ride and the outstanding views,at least The Hubnut Travel Company haven't gone bust (like 2 in the UK yesterday) so i do get to see them.I do hope that you were not wearing your pants when the landlady ironed them, could have been a touch painful, and Bakar cant be a real seaside place........no fish and chips, candy floss and kiss me quick hats,at least sarfend-on sea in essex has a pier......super series Ian keep going ...but please take time for yourself,........ best wishes and oh BTW a balanced diet is having two pieces of chocolate cake, ..one in each hand
What a pretty place! I love the sea, so any kind of seaside is a thing up my alley, but a peaceful, sunny, southern coast is particularly enticing. Well, it's almost like Cote d'Azure -- a very, very natural backdrop for Elly, wasn't it? :) Also, I loved the Sonata on the Kingpins and an Occasional Creak that she performed going down that winding road :D
Lovely Juubly. I visited what was Yugoslavia in the late 1980's, breathtaking scenery, not much traffic or ruined by tacky tourism still. Lots more prettier places across Europe, nice find Mr HubNut.
Happy days 😎 hope our classic is as reliable
Well done Elly and well done Ian...
