  • Yes, it's the Citroën Centenary or Centenaire celebrations in La Ferte-Vidame, France. This footage was all shot on the Friday. Turns out the Saturday was even better! So there will be more to come.
Still, this isn't a bad way to start, with an Axel, many Tissier DS, CX and XM conversions, a Kegresse, M35, Birotors, a rotary-engined helicopter, Traction Avants, 2CVs, Amis, Dyanes and more pre-war Citroën's than I have ever seen!
If you would like some HubNut merchandise, head to hubnut.org and sheer pleasure is just a few clicks away. Or maybe that's a different website...

Have had an Citroen C5 for more than 10 years... My girlfriend loved that...We went on many holidays in it, Bulgaria, France, Croatia and many more. Vejle (Denmark) - Burgas (Bulgaria) is 2600km... Such a lovely time.

As a former Citroen owner, I greatly enjoyed your tour. The commentary was well spoken and full of facts. You made me feel like I was by your side taking in this wonderland of cars.

Great video! BTW I remember when the 2CV Spot came out in 1976. There was a large terrain near us where the dutch branch of Citroen used to store their cars. Every now and then we would visit and see what the changes for the new modelyear were, like rectangular headlights. Then in the spring of '76 the Spot was introduced! Imagine about 50 or so of these bright colored cars parked in a field! Great memories!

Your up for a suprise! The DS, for example, is the most advanced car in the world, way ahead of it´s time!
And also the most beautiful car of all times!
"The DS is not the car of the future, nor the car of the past. It is the car of today!"

We drove a 2cv in England some years ago. I have a friend in France who has a Traction Avant for 1957, he is restoring it. We had a Peugeot 504 some time ago. A great vehicle!

As a child in Scotland...Late 60's early 70's I can clear as a bell remember being struck by the D.S as something out of the "Thunderbirds"...amazing! Growing up in Canada the sight of any Citroen is very rare indeed. So thank you very much. That was awesome !

We used to visit the shows abroad as traders and yes, they do stay late. We used to have many beers at 6pm with folk, it was ace. UK do tend to leave for their tea at 2pm 😂😂

Fantastique! just spent most of the weekend watching your test drives and your Croatian trip up till this episode. You haven't uttered a single syllable about cars and life in general that I disagree with. Thanks for being you! Your enthusiasm is infectious. Your trip to Amsterdam brings back memories of moving there in 1994 with my girlfriend at the time in a rather nice red mk2 Escort estate. Unfortunately the car came to a sticky end when I drove it into a well hidden barrier in an underground car park! I abandoned it,only to find out I was being charged for every day it was in the pound...

*You should have a drive in a (shark noise) DS!* They are the most comfortable cars every made! My dad has a 1970 DS 21 Pallas with electronic injection and sitting in it as a child was like relaxing on a sofa, that's placed on a water bed on top of a flying carpet! It just floats around and roundabouts created an unbelievable amount of body roll.

I’m completely blown away Ian. I’ve never owned a Citroen much to my disappointment I almost did a swap in the mid 90s my rover 820 for a bx 1.9 gti but the owner of the Citroen decided my rover didn’t drive as well has his Citroen so I traveled 70 miles with a big grin on my face and another 70 without it .
Love your videos Ian I also like the new look . Regards. David

This video has opened my eyes to Citroen. Bear with me here; I had one of those new C4 Grand Picasso's, and ended up returning it after less than 6 months. Everything broke on it. Even the brake discs started warping, and the damn thing completely cut out at 60mph on the M1 (+ Many more problems documented). Mechanics confirmed I was not driving it incorrectly, and admitted that it was a quote unquote "Friday afternoon car". Since then Citroen have been at the bottom of my vehicular radar. This video has opened my eyes to the fact they do make nice cars. Just not anymore. 3:55 That could well be the most desirable car I have ever seen. I'm not in to very old cars but that one is the most beautiful I have ever seen. Those 6 wheeled behemoths caught my eye too. They are strangely attractive. I now know I would give my right arm for the car in view at 21:17 it's gorgeous and oozes Gallic style just as much as it seems to ooze in to it's parking space. I really enjoyed seeing all of those prototypes too. What are the chances of you getting hold of a top spec BX and giving us a walk around? Those cars really peak my curiosity. Anyway, thank you very much for going hungry and being momentarily penniless to bring us this video.

I love how no matter what section of the show Hubnut meanders he always says, "That's a lot of ......." Hubnut wasn't kidding I would love this show. It does disappoint me that Citroen is selling off some of its private collection. I believe the manufacturer should hold on to those rare cars as once they are in private hands you'll probably never see them again. 😔. As for my favorites: the usual SM masterpieces. I do have a huge fondness for the GS and GSA. They look so 70's with their beautiful styling and function. That is a car that Hubnut should buy honestly. 😁

As you said it's Citroen madness, the classic Citroen are unlike is any other vehicles, they're unique and very interesting, the event looked similar to a fairground where people were walking around and enjoying themselves. It looked like a good day with an impossible number of Citroen's to look at.

Thanks for sharing Ian. Unfortunately due to being a full time carer for my Dad following the sudden death of my Mum in 2015, most of my Citroën shenanigans are in a state of enforced hiatus, the BX 16 Valve hasn’t seen the light of day for almost two years. Looks like an amazing display of our favourite French marque. C’est le magnifique Citroën.

Well done. That's no easy task. I'm sure the Valver will wait for better times.
