- The Boston Bruins have make a sneaky signing in Max Jones who will be the perfect replacement for Jakub Lauko and Pat Maroon on the 4th line being a combination of the two. Jeremy Swayman has been spotted at development camp for the Bruins with a smile, could this mean a contract extension could be coming soon? The Athletic has ranked the Bruins has the worst in free agency with the signings of Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov being "too expensive" and "too much term" for the Bruins.

Got a big body on D, A top 6 Center, and shipped out two absolute liabilities in Gryz and Forbort. This was a terrific Free agency.
Yes
Still won’t get past second round
The number of “fans” trying to make the case that DeBrusk is a more valuable player than Lindholm in these comments is pretty embarrassing for Bruins’ fandom.
The bruins should post them comments in the locker room when the season starts.
Your gettin it
Oh, they will…B lieve it!
Cap is going up too so that’s another reason y lindholm and Zadorov were more expensive
They said the same thing last year, and look how we showed them. We were still a top team even without Bergy and Krejci. We went with depth, it paid off. This year we picked up depth and some key role fillers
The word is “capitulated”. Cah-pitch-you-lay-ted 5:02
As for the Athletic article, that author appears to be ranking his free agency grades based solely on the financial aspect. This is a fair, but narrow way to evaluate UFA signings. He’s not saying that the Bruins chose to pursue bad players. He’s not saying that Lindholm and Zadorov won’t do good things for the Bruins. Instead, he’s making the case that the Bruins paid “too much” for these two players’ services. Frankly, he’s probably correct. It would have been ideal to ink a six-year deal with Lindholm, and a five-year deal with Zadorov. However, teams don’t often receive “ideal” agreements from UFA players on Day 1 of free agency… and if a team balks, there will be another team right there ready to sign that player.
This is the cost of doing business with UFA’s in the summer. If there’s strong interest in a player from multiple teams, the price will go up. Did Sweeney overpay? Yes, but not egregiously. We have not yet learned any details about whether or not these two new contracts have no-trade no-movement clauses. Can't really fully evaluate the contracts until we know all that stuff.
Enjoying the content. A check in on bussi would be nice while you talk about swayman. Even do a dive in on lysell or other potential wings at camp right now. We want any and all bruins content available, and most of us don't know anything about the prospects. Might be a 3 month niche for you, finally subscribing anyway
keep up the good work look forward to your videos dropping nightly
Love the signings, definitely got rid of some deadweight and added some size strength and toughness.
But if the players aren’t using their size, that’s a coaching problem, not just a player size problem
Paul Maurice has his guys running through a wall for him, simply because he’s a great coach and they believe in him
Just found your Chanel love it so far!
Dont forget they got Mark Kastelic from Ottawa in the Ullmark trade, hes no shrimp !
JVR still on team - Resigned? - played well in the playoffs - Need more scoring
Thanks for you great job Kirk! 🐻🖤💛
Max Jones 🔥
Like your content, but Dude, slow down a little bit.
Being physical is great but if you can't score then being physical doesn't mean shit. Swayman can right his own deal and the UM better ink it.
Lmao we made the best moves of the day, other than nsh we won free agency, we signed 2 studs and a possibly young resurgence in max
Uh-huh ....
Elias + Zadorov + Jones = $13.75m/yr
Stamkos + Marshsault = $13.5/yr
Sweeney blew it AGAIN
@@markaucoin9834 lmao now he didn’t stamkos is aging and only had 80 points last year because of kuch, and marchesault signed for 5.5 there both mid 30s, and they signed a worse dman for more money, lmso must be new to hockey, Elias with pasta will be a great line, not to mention we have the best 1-6 d in the league rn lmao, and a top 5 goalie, cap is going up that 7.75 is gonna be meaningless in 2 years time when the caps at 100 million, sure we could of added stamkos and marchesault, and it would of been a terrible mistake Nashville had like 30 million to blow in cap, I bet you any money lindholm has just as much points as marchesault and has higher defensive and face off value than stamkos ever has, they also wanted to go with Brady lmao so nah I’m all set with bringing in a overated 7 million dollar dman people though he was gonna get 4-5 million lmao
@@user-sg8ld2hp6zlol don’t worry that guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Marchessault and Stamkos are getting old and on the back half of their careers. Glad we didn’t take either of them for how long their contracts are.
@@Johnnybones1 agreed man! GO Bs! I also think lindholm will be back to selke level this year, Boston is fun, he’s been in Calgary for 3 years without fun and then got sent to a team that didn’t want him last deadline you can tell it affected him
@@user-sg8ld2hp6z completely agree I’m excited. People like to gloss over the fact that players of this caliber have these down years because they have been on not so great teams. Can’t wait to see what lindholm can do on this roster.
From your lineup you showed too I think they’ll give geekie a look on line 2 and wouldn’t be shocked to see jones play on the 3rd line see what he can do, but I love our lineup so much more than last year, we maybe spent 2 million more than we should have…. Who cares lmao, they hate us because we’re always good and we’re always in the hunt, pasta and lindholm are going to be electric, now if we could somehow make a move and get a top 6 winger, and again your spot on zadorov is going to be a stud in Boston, he’s going to play with chucky, I bet you any money he ends up being worth more than we paid him, his term may be 1 year high than I’d like but again who cares we had teams sign 32-34 year olds to 5-6 year deals but we’re the losers? Haha good shit man fk the athletic
Sweeny/Neely did very good job with limited bucks , really like the top Two guys. Don't listen to Bruin-haters in Media or fans. Zadorov is just what the Bruins Def. Needed a shot in the arm of toughness and physicality! Grez. was a semi-tough shrimp. And Carlo is just not tough enough not to mention H.Lindholm -yuck! Too often enemy forwards were standing in front of our goal untouched and our defense standing alone like pylons . McAvoy was the lone bright spot offensively and defensively. Hopefully New defense coach Jay Leach will straighten these guys out. Go Bruins!
Time will tell on the signings
Offence wins games, defence wins cups! Can’t wait!
Offense*
Don’t you have to win games to win a championship
@@apapz3245 yeah I’m sure we’ll be fine just need to get in playoffs
@@bluestskies5663 they’ll get in the playoffs easily, just like every other year, that some be the problem. Making it past the first and second round will be the challenge
@@apapz3245 no more challenge bro we’ll slow down every team with our new gang
I think the Bruins are just making the rebuild they will likely have to face any year now, stupidly more difficult with this year's FA signing. We finally get to a point with some flexibility with the cap and it is immediately tied up with old guys, what could go wrong?
Those clowns picked the bruins to be a wild card team and they went on to break the nhl record for best record ever.
There going to be just fine. We dropped allot of dead weight. Brought in a top line center and a monster on defense that we haven't had since Chara.
Would another team have offered Lindholm that or better? Probably which is why it is tolerable.
(cap-itch-uh-late-id)
Vancouver offered 7 and 7
@@curtisbragg not bad. I’m not sold on Lindholm but I also dislike Hampus (Krampus) Lindholm so maybe it’s a surname issue.
@@user-np4xe3sv3f I refered to Hampus as "Big Gryz"
Tarasenko is available with no takers!
Still need more scoring.
Yeah sure Dom . And every year you got us missing the playoffs . The guys a woodchuck .
Za-door-ov
Behind the door
Max Jones is a solid 4th line signing & I like what we saw from Brazeau so yeah….the 2 of them together could make some noise. That's great ! 4th line is all set.
However I’m more concerned with our Top 6th. Assuming Lindholm centers Pasta & Zacha what’s going on with the 2nd line ? Coyle moving up to center Marchand & Geekie ?
Ok….we still need another goal scorer imo. And what are we doing with 3rd line ?
Trent and poitras on 3rd is pretty nice
@@tmac2798 Poitras isnt a 3rd line C - put him in the top 6 where he belongs
@@markaucoin9834 If he’s centering line 2 then it’s Coyle on line 3…
Not the worst that could happen but I’d still feel better if they’d add another proven goal scorer.
@@michaelcalland801 well we aint signing anyone else but Sway ... Coyle is, was, & always will be a 3rd line C - can step up briefly to 2C but shouldnt be there all season long
@@markaucoin9834 agree 100%…
Ideally Coyle is Centering 3rd but as of right now he’s all we have….
The Bruins still need a second line center and they have to replace Debrusk
They have Coyle and Zacha, either of them can play 2C.
Max Jones
Trade hampus for a forward
Debrusk isn’t a center
@@magnus1249 that's why they put the word "and" in there, it means there are 2 separate things they think need to be done.
Poor Dom... 🥸let see if Z hasnt proven enough... when my man will crushes people into the ramp at the blue next season... 🥶😂 his team probably sign a certain Edmundson 4 years 4 Millions🤣
They got bigger and cut some dead weight cheers
Dude slow down
@@mcrosby2013 yes.. please ease up on the coffee or "Red Bull", keep up the good work 😁.
Bruins always take crap from the "media" but we know they did great... might not be a homerun but it was at least a triple!
Honestly we’re way better than last year sitting here today, we can sign sway still and if we could somehow make a trade for a winger ideally we would be sitting very pretty, if we did that though now we’re at home run territory, we signed 2 of the best fa available and we got a Bergeron esq player in lindy im happy as a bruins fan and there both still 29 they’ll be marchys age when those contracts are up
The only person who takes crap is Jeremy Jacobs who won't ans never will open the vault to let Sweeney build a legit championship contender with key free agent signings. Sweeney would have overpaid to bring Sam Reinhart to Bostom. Why wouldn't he come? He would have teamed up with Pastrnak and this is the Hub of Hockey not the Florida swamp!
@@marclefebvre7071 oh exactly, I mean I like the signings but if ownership would of let him I’m sure he would of thrown 11x8 at reinhart, everyone shits on Sweeney and I’m just over it, he’s one of the top 5 gms in the league, every year our team is a contender and he truly tries to make big moves if he sees we’re a cup contender, but year after year we shoot ourselves in the foot, Sweeney can’t get on the ice and score, we shouldn’t of even been as good as we were last year but we were…, they shit on his signings last year and they all pulled there weight, I guarantee if Boston is a contender by deadline he will add pieces we need. But like you said Jacob’s has handicapped his signings, maybe chirelli caused that who knows but it’s ridiculous.
Why are we signing bottom 6 free agent forwards? Those positions should go to Providence kids. Right now we are desperate for a top 6 forward to play with Pastrnak. Marchand is 36! and Debrusk is leaving!!
Theres nothing in Providence, no size , no grit.
Z is a 3rd pair.....borderline 2nd pair guy. Too much money and term.
Lindholm is a second line centre, who needs stars to be good. Doesnt drive his line. Buyout candidate in 3-4 years.
Debrusk sucked anyway
Trotz in Smashville did a wonderful job! He wont regret it in the future! 🤓🙈🤣🤣🤣🤣
#very hard to do worst than that... old washed Stammer and Marchessault... for 4 and 5 years...🤑 The Athletic should have work on that one...
Id take those 2 over the 7+6 we gave out to a Dman we didnt need & the other guy who were hoping can recreate himself to what he was 3 yrs ago ....
Swayman got until July 15 to respond to the Bruins offer. Then it's arbitration again.
He should sign elsewhere
I don’t understand the Lindholm signing, dudes 29 and on the decline yet 7.75 million for 7 years? He’s the first line C now and unless they can get a real 1st line C next season which I’m doubtful they can get because Crosby is the main choice.
Perfect fit? Lindholm scored 15 goals in his last 75 games. I don’t get it. Debrusk is more a consistent goal scorer and they could have signed him for a lot less.
Debrusk and consistent goal scorer does not go together Lindholm had a bad year cause he knew he was getting traded we got way better
The absolute best move the Bruins made was JDB gone.
@@TheOGSUspect1 Debrusk averaged 0.3 goals per game in 7 seasons. Lindholm averaged 0.27 goals per game over 12 seasons. Debrusk career +/- is +51. Lindholm career +/- is +15. Where is the “way better”?
@@johnnyrockaway1082 lindholm was a 3rd line center with the Nucks... he will be 1st center with the B's... major difference... + hes a defensive center... he would fit perfectly with the B's game structure... look at his points goes up this season and you would pay 5.5 Milli for 7 years... for a 20 goals 3rd line winger... ok donkey... go cheers for the Leafs 🙈🤓
@@coreysghostglowmask8650 Lindholm only played 26 games out of his entire career for the Canucks. It has almost zero impact on his career stats. So no it’s not a major difference. He’s only scored more than 20 goals in 4 out of 12 seasons. Lindholm didn’t even play much of his career at center he played wing. Ok donkey balls? Go cheer for the WNBA.
