I don't think there's any chance no matter how the team comes out that Jim gets fired. Let's be real he had the single best regular season of any team in history. Followed that up with a season where after losing the teams 1 and 2c's and not replacing them actively was what 5-6th best team in the league? And you are going into this year after losing 3 of your top 10 scorers and only actively replacing 1. You lost guys that had played top 4 d for you and replaced that with a guy who's been 6th atoi on ice the last several years for a good vancouver team and a less good calgary team. You replaced a top ten goalie with a bottom two goalie. And Swayman still isn't signed as current. There are a lot of reasons why this team might not be good right away next year. It's likely going to take some time.

      Monty's not the problem.

Monty getting fired would be ironic. He did better than expected with the teams he had but they both had the yips in the playoffs. Like, we shouldn't be where we were but also, why didn't you go further? Unless the team completely tanks next year, I think he should be left alone.

I would love bruins to sign Sprong be good additions put him in 3rd line . Give competitions with other players. Be helpful in scoring but won't replace Debrusk but he's the best option available out there he's 27 of age. .

Borh Frederic and Geekie already produce like this guy and are better defensively. He really brings nothing to the table you don't already have. So with that in mind considering Frederic makes 2.6 and Geekie makes 2. I'd want to pay Sprong less.

@@exturkconner Yeah Sprong is not a good enough 200-foot player.

I saw Bruce Cassidy at the same odds as Monty. I guess winning a cup two years ago carries no security.

I mean the odds are 3.1 it's not very high. Only the first 3 guys had like notable numbers.

Jim Montgomery should not be fired or that should not even be a consideration, unless the B's come out and pull an Edmonton from this year. He took a team that was supposed to be mediocre on paper to the second round of the play offs and were 1-2 in the division most of the year. Unless the team comes out severely flat this year. I think he is fine.

Sprong could be a cheap amazing signing...if boston things happen. If they can somehow unlock alittle bit of defensive ability or at least awareness from him he could be unreal! His offensive game reminds me ALOT of jake debrusk. His shot is elite. He even does jakes in close and roof it techique. He just really lacks in almost anything defensive, but maybe with the right guidance he could make it halfway decent. At least he would have a better defense to make up for his shortcomings. For cheap hes a steal

    Your dramatic headlines are hilarious.
It's time to get Sway locked up.

Kastelic is a good player. Watch out he could be the four-line center.

    • @exturkconner
      @exturkconner Місяць тому

I think it's safe to say he's going to be the 4th line center. I don't think he is that good of a player but considering what deal he was part of I think they are going to feel pressured to get return. I think likely you'll see Beecher and Jones as wings. With Beecher probably occasionally slotting in for center shifts and probably some games here and there.

@@exturkconner I think he(like all players, if healthy)will win center on merit. He and Beecher are both good on draws I just think Kastelic is a better/harder grinder than Beecher.

More interested in Flip Zadina because he’s younger than Sprong but either player have offensive upside and on a more complete team like Boston could have even better numbers

Jim has been exceptional in the 2 reg. seasons he's been with us and in the play-offs has incrementally been getting more success.
Fire him? Lets not be a Canuck type franchise just yet please.

cassidy was better and proved it by winning the cup right after he left bruins, still i think jim can bring us a cup if we avoid big injurys and get by the panthers, with the additions in offseason and swayman being special we can do it and now the bruins are pretty young, the bs stars have to play better in the playoffs than last yr and that means u charlie m and david p

Montgomery isn't the problem, Sweeny isn't the problem, its the players. Yes, Swayman still hasn't been signed, but I'm sure he will. The 1st line is really good along with the second line. Though I don't think that Geekie should be n the 2nd line. He is good but should be on the 3rd line instead. Beecher, Brazeau, and Frederic are going to become better as they gain more experience in the league. On the topic of potentially bringing in Daniel Sprong as an addition to maybe the 2nd line, I would love to see it. He is a good player with experience that this current Bruins team could benefit from. This team might not have a strong start to the season, but I'm sure they will still make the playoffs.
