Hi Patty, with me it's the carbs that 'set me off'. I've started to drink(through a straw) some apple cider vinegar in a glass of water after I wake up. It cuts my desire for carbs. I also now only eat proteins for breakfast. It has helped. G Ire

I have been gluten free for over 20 years, so I have become accustomed to bringing my own food or not eating at events for my own safety. I have adopted your method of prepping lots of different foods all at once... and it has saved me SO much time!!! My husband says he feels like he has a buffet at every meal! I prefer chicken and he prefers fish... and it's no problem to put a pan of each in the oven while my instant pot cooks all the veg!! I've learned so many great tips from you, and my husband is making positive dietary changes because of my great results! You're an inspiration, LuLu!!! ❤🎉
Lulu, you are a born teacher! I am almost one month in, following your plan. I am feeling so much better! My Fibro is doing better, my skin looks better, I have more energy! I am finding this doable on even a much smaller grocery budget than what you mentioned. I cook for myself and my adult daughter. I have about $300 a month to spend on food. I can't usually get organic stuff and we need to stock up when meat is on sale, then I freeze it. We do eat a lot of beans but we are ok with that as a protein source. I do worry about Calcium. I have osteopenia (pre osteoporosis) and I take Calcium supplements. I am dairy and cheese free. So I try to be aware of what other sources I can use that are good sources for calcium, but I do worry if I am getting enough. Thank you for another great video!
Thanks again for your advice and information. I went out with my besties this week. I only had water while they did the whole appetizers, drinks and main meal. I love these gals so much because they gladly accepted why I did not participate and we had a wonderful visit. You know when you are loved and valued by people when they accept you for who you are.

I’ve learned that when I don’t get enough sleep I have much less discipline about eating the following day - especially when it comes to not snacking between meals! the discipline you have with food could have nothing to do with how much sleep you get. when make the food a priority, it doesn't matter if you get the flu or break your leg, or not get enough sleep. first things first! 😊
Lulu, you are so right, about how we shouldn't be afraid to spend the money on healthy food because we do forget that we are spending a lot on restaurant food too & we forget to add that cost in to our "grocery bill". Thanks for that reminder! Love your videos, they are so inspirational!
Exactly Lulu, if it's working for you why would you want to change it? Following the plan does take the crazy out of it by eliminating too many decisions around meal planning. Keep it simple.

I have had a bit of a tuff time last few weeks , have not been on here, just have let stuff get in my way. Company from out of town, going out to eat 2 to 3 times, yada yada. I'm not an RV'er. Not exactly sure how, but I recently came across your videos and your friendly voice sucked me right in. I've now watched more than a few of your videos and I want to say that your eating plan makes more sense to me than any I've seen. I've always said that the main problem with dieting is that it takes so much thought at a time when you're trying to think less about food. Your plan solves that dilemma. There's are too many food choices in our lives, so by limiting them you spend less time thinking about food. I already eat healthy all organic real food, just too much of it. I'm in total agreement about spending more at the grocery/farmers market (for me). And spending little (or nothing) at other places on food . I actually save money overall each month. I don't buy all organic, but get what I can afford. I buy more organic when it's on sale and use those that week. I tend to buy seasonally, it's generally cheaper and much tastier. I do still eat out occasionally but keep track of what I eat and how much I'm spending. Doing both helps keep me on track.

Dear Lulu thank you for your plan. Finally something that makes sense. I think i like the precision of measuring. And knowing I can have milk in my coffee removes all the crazy. It is the crazy that got me here. I had a perfect weight until all the weight loss plans became the rage. I wish I never heard of any of them. I was great already. Hi LuLu….I am a 66 years young man and I enjoy your channel. I am doing your food plan and have noticed a big difference in my life. The one thing I have noticed is that the food plan works best if I can cook for myself. I travel a lot (including internationally) and it is always surprising how difficult it is to find fresh fruit and vegetables while out of the country. You would think these things are easily available everywhere, but no. I was in New Zealand and spent a lot of my time being frustrated looking for food I wanted. They love their carbs there. I usually just have to go out of food plan mode while traveling so that I am not always obsessed with my next meal
@@ThomasIndustrious good point here, when you are traveling all the time, you have to eat sometimes on the plane!. And it depends how long is the flight so, we recommended to take a bag with your special food of course by hand or ask for diet food !. You can do this if you are traveling on bussiness class!. You know there is a flight to japan with so privacy , you can put your seat like a bed, 😍 wow!. And you are able to ask diet food!. And yes, not all the countries have security about food, one more important thing, you know it's better go to private supermarket than buy things on the street!. Bye . and thank you for sharing 😁 💯👌. Although I haven't traveled internationally while on this food plan, I have traveled by plane and I take all the meals with me I need from the moment I step out of my house to head to the airport, until I will land and be at a place where I will have my food. Hi Thomas. I am from New Zealand and am surprised that you struggled to find fresh foods as we have a number of fresh food market stores across the country. We grow fresh vegetables in abundance here. Maybe it was where you were staying? We do have restrictions on what can be brought into the country. Hope you had a good time anyway.

I find loving my food is also related to eating good, fresh, food that I like/love/enjoy and not making do with less than that (even if it fits the plan) because I “gotta” follow the plan. I want to follow the plan and want the food I prepare.

Healthy. I have to go out this year more frecuently out, because of the publicity things and what i eat at the restaurant is Healthy food!. What's the 💡 idea?. To try to keep on this way no matter where you are!. By the way ziggy is all the time with music, me too, sometimes i put your song when i go to work out, and people ask me 😂🤣😁 What song is that!. You know, we are doing your food, specially on weekends, friends together, and sometimes when we are out we take some food with us, because the time is gold and you never know what could happen!. And yes, this song means that both personsn were waiting for a meeting and when it happened it was so late!. Then, they put their shoes in the trash and a homeless picked them up and one day that homeless decided to hang them up in an electricity cable on the street ( so dangerous this). But it was a signal that they are going to be together again to fixed up all that silence with no words spoken!. ❤life is so Wonderful!.

I have been following the food plan 100% for the past 3 weeks, and I feel amazing. In about a month I will be traveling overseas to visit my mom and I will have access to keep following the plan. My dilemma is eating during my travel. It is a 24 hour trip door to door. What would yiu suggest I bring so I don't have to eat the food they serve on the plane or at the airport? I pack up my meals and put them in my backpack and take them on the plane. security always go through my bag, looking at everything and end up saying "wow, you eat so healthy", I'm like YUP!!!
@Dancemaniac63 I just figure what I will need from when I leave the door of home to the airport,until I land and I'm at my destination with a kitchen full of food. and assemble those meals in tupperware containers. salads, cooked veggies, anything!!!
Lulu I just stumbled on one of your videos recently and am really enjoying them. I am about 50 lbs overweight and 70 years old. Oh how hard it is to drop weight now. I eat pretty healthy meals no problem but really struggle with no snacking between meals and always want carbs/sugar. Do you address cravings for bread or sweets in any of your videos?

I now understsnd how this plan works for you so well. I have been following this plan for 3 weeks and have already lost 7 pounds. I am 5 ft tall and only had 15 pounds to loose but this eating plan is working well. But i have to comment that you going from vegan to vegetarian to this mostly plant based diet, seems to me why it appeals to you. But going on this plan from a mostly meat, potatoes, pasta, etc is a big adjustment. My biggest problem is trying to find enough variety. It is becoming a bit challenging not to be bored with it. But i am sticking to it. The biggest thing is that there is no way i can eat the volumne of food you eat. I follow the plan but breakfast and lunch i omly eat half of what you eat. For dinner i can eat about 3/4 of what youu eat. It is more than i really want to eat but i want to bridge that night time gap without getting hungry. All in all i agree with this plan.
yes! overnight oats. I just put my oats in a dish with water and cinnamon, cover, let it sit overnight, next morning it's ready!! I don't even bother heating it. I just add fruit and nuts, DELISH!!
I give my husband extra protein. I eat my amounts and let him have what he wants. I blessed that he loves veggies and salads. I just add in what will make him satisfied.

I have my meal in the car, I assess the situation. when it's mealtime and it feels right to me to bring my meal to the table and eat with everybody, then I go get it and bring it in. if not, then I eat in the car and come back and have a blast!!! meals at weddings are never at actual mealtimes so I can easily slip out to enjoy my meal and the come back and enjoy everybody while they are eating. it's really no big deal. nobody cares. I go to a sit down dinner at a wedding almost never!!!

I worked it for years as a 100% strict vegan. just look at the protein list and choose only those items that are vegan. nuts (a load of choices there), beans (endless, all the varieties), tofu. it works if you want it!!
I drink one Liter Water with a spoon of Apple Cidre vinegar in the Morning. Over the day I drink 2,5 Liter Water and Tee. Than at 11.00 Uhr, i eat the first organic fresh Food. Than I eat at evening 5 p.m. my second meal and much more than in the morning. I put together only good organic vegetables, with many greens and good organic chicken or fish, and seeds, and nuts, and good oils and with lot of healthy Herbst. I am so much healthier. I do not longer need sugar, or industriell cooked food anymore. I cook every day fresh and now, I learn food prepp from you. I hope, you can more cook and prepp? To show us? You’re such an inspiration my husband and I plan to live out of our RV once we purchase it one of the surgeons I work with purchased a Mercedes RV and that’s what we’re looking at I’m very excited. i'm about 290 pounds. started today but not really. haven't been eating fruit so didn't have any. had 2 eggs, olive oil, salsa (as my fruit) two trader joe corn tortillas (didn't have any grains yet) which is 1 serving ground corn but ground corn not ok. also had decaf and sugar free almond milk, another nope. so basically not your plan at all🤣 ps i'm starving!!!!!!
I was doing vegetarian/ vegan yo-yo-ing for many years, did not eat any of the processed options, though, just the healthy stuff, but was not doing well, and was overweight. Then my functional medicine doctor suggested I bring chicken and seafood back into my diet. It was sooo difficult for me at first, but it worked for my body. Interesting that you also had to do this.
It is better to go to those parties where people are healthy too!. About food!. But you know, to be a social person it's not easy!. And we have to be polite ever, sometimes they ask you if you are on a special diet, and they will be ablel to give you the right food!.❤.

I am following the food plan. 6 days in. I did notice that by removing the processed and out to eat foods I am actually eating less. Its like processed and take out foods have something in them that leave you wanting more. I was a bottomless pit. I also did vegetarian. I did it for for 2 years. It actually got me to my heaviest and I developed some skin conditions. The copious amounts of rice, pasta, bread, crackers, etc, caused my sugar levels to spike so high i was getting skin boils. I was also bloated and uncomfortable. I couldn't even rest my arms at my side. I thought it was feom the veggies but it was actually way too many carbs. Then I did Keto/Carnivore/Ketovore and I lost some weight but I was missing veggies and bread and would end up binging. So I stopped and the weight crept back on. I enjoybthe foods im eating. I cant eat oatmeal though. It's one of those foods, for me, that for some reason makes me even hungrier and makes me overeat. not sure why, so i just stay away from it. I did get Ezikiel bread as suggested in your past post, since it doesnt have flour. I was wanting bread and didnt want to spiral into a binge. Works out perfectly. Weighing out my food has also helped so much and two huge servings of veggies definitely helps my satiety. I am so grateful for the food plan you follow. Because of Lulu's way, Im finding my way and I am so very grateful. It is definitely serving me well.🌻

Hi Lulu, FYI: I know you love your InstantPot. If you don’t make hard boiled eggs in it….try it. High pressure for five minutes, left to rest for five minutes then release pressure. Immediately transfer eggs to icy water. When cooled the shells will peel off so easily. It’s the only way I make them now. 🐓

Hi Lulu. I’ve been following a WFPB (whole food plant based) lifestyle for four years now. It’s basically vegan but without highly processed foods. It has drastically reduced my cholesterol, high blood pressure and easily maintain my weight. I basically function as you do, take my own food wherever go, don’t eat out, always plan area and food prep. I love this lifestyle and can’t ever imagine goi g back to a SAD diet. I was wondering if you have noticed any health benefits or changes since you added fish, chicken and eggs back into your diet? I can’t imagine added them back, however, I do wonder sometimes if I’m getting enough protein. I’m 69 years young!

Isn't it an absolute SHAME that you have to say that healthy, organic, "real" food is ALWAYS going to be more expensive than junk? What kind of incentive is that for Americans to eat better? Sometimes, I just want to cry - that is my "crazy."
but, in the end, it's cheaper, because you are not spending money in restaurants, on fast food, and likely spending less on medical appointments and pharmaceuticals.

I can't usually get organic stuff and we need to stock up when meat is on sale, then I freeze it. We do eat a lot of beans but we are ok with that as a protein source. I do worry about Calcium. I have osteopenia (pre osteoporosis) and I take Calcium supplements. I am dairy and cheese free. So I try to be aware of what other sources I can use that are good sources for calcium, but I do worry if I am getting enough. Thank you for another great video!

Thanks again for your advice and information. I went out with my besties this week. I only had water while they did the whole appetizers, drinks and main meal. I love these gals so much because they gladly accepted why I did not participate and we had a wonderful visit. You know when you are loved and valued by people when they accept you for who you are.

I’ve learned that when I don’t get enough sleep I have much less discipline about eating the following day - especially when it comes to not snacking between meals! Thank you for sharing your experience and encouragement. You make it seem totally doable.
the discipline you have with food could have nothing to do with how much sleep you get. when make the food a priority, it doesn't matter if you get the flu or break your leg, or not get enough sleep. first things first! 😊
Lulu, you are so right, about how we shouldn't be afraid to spend the money on healthy food because we do forget that we are spending a lot on restaurant food too & we forget to add that cost in to our "grocery bill". Thanks for that reminder! Love your videos, they are so inspirational!

Exactly Lulu, if it's working for you why would you want to change it? Following the plan does take the crazy out of it by eliminating too many decisions around meal planning. Keep it simple.

I have had a bit of a tuff time last few weeks , have not been on here, just have let stuff get in my way. Company from out of town, going out to eat 2 to 3 times, yada yada. I'm not an RV'er. Not exactly sure how, but I recently came across your videos and your friendly voice sucked me right in. I've now watched more than a few of your videos and I want to say that your eating plan makes more sense to me than any I've seen.
I've always said that the main problem with dieting is that it takes so much thought at a time when you're trying to think less about food. Your plan solves that dilemma. There's are too many food choices in our lives, so by limiting them you spend less time thinking about food. I already eat healthy all organic real food, just too much of it.

I'm in total agreement about spending more at the grocery/farmers market (for me). And spending little (or nothing) at other places on food . I actually save money overall each month. I don't buy all organic, but get what I can afford. I buy more organic when it's on sale and use those that week. I tend to buy seasonally, it's generally cheaper and much tastier.
I do still eat out occasionally but keep track of what I eat and how much I'm spending. Doing both helps keep me on track.

Dear Lulu thank you for your plan. Finally something that makes sense. I think i like the precision of measuring. And knowing I can have milk in my coffee removes all the crazy. It is the crazy that got me here. I had a perfect weight until all the weight loss plans became the rage. I wish I never heard of any of them. I was great already. Hi LuLu….I am a 66 years young man and I enjoy your channel. I am doing your food plan and have noticed a big difference in my life. The one thing I have noticed is that the food plan works best if I can cook for myself. I travel a lot (including internationally) and it is always surprising how difficult it is to find fresh fruit and vegetables while out of the country. You would think these things are easily available everywhere, but no. I was in New Zealand and spent a lot of my time being frustrated looking for food I wanted. They love their carbs there. I usually just have to go out of food plan mode while traveling so that I am not always obsessed with my next meal
@@ThomasIndustrious good point here, when you are traveling all the time, you have to eat sometimes on the plane!. And it depends how long is the flight so, we recommended to take a bag with your special food of course by hand or ask for diet food !. You can do this if you are traveling on bussiness class!. You know there is a flight to japan with so privacy , you can put your seat like a bed, 😍 wow!. And you are able to ask diet food!. And yes, not all the countries have security about food, one more important thing, you know it's better go to private supermarket than buy things on the street!. Bye . and thank you for sharing 😁 💯👌. Hi Thomas. I am from New Zealand and am surprised that you struggled to find fresh foods as we have a number of fresh food market stores across the country. We grow fresh vegetables in abundance here. Maybe it was where you were staying? We do have restrictions on what can be brought into the country. Hope you had a good time anyway.

I find loving my food is also related to eating good, fresh, food that I like/love/enjoy and not making do with less than that (even if it fits the plan) because I “gotta” follow the plan. I want to follow the plan and want the food I prepare.

You know, we are doing your food, specially on weekends, friends together, and sometimes when we are out we take some food with us, because the time is gold and you never know what could happen!. And yes, this song means that both personsn were waiting for a meeting and when it happened it was so late!. Then, they put their shoes in the trash and a homeless picked them up and one day that homeless decided to hang them up in an electricity cable on the street ( so dangerous this). But it was a signal that they are going to be together again to fixed up all that silence with no words spoken!. ❤life is so Wonderful!.

I have been following the food plan 100% for the past 3 weeks, and I feel amazing. In about a month I will be traveling overseas to visit my mom and I will have access to keep following the plan. My dilemma is eating during my travel. It is a 24 hour trip door to door. What would yiu suggest I bring so I don't have to eat the food they serve on the plane or at the airport? I pack up my meals and put them in my backpack and take them on the plane. security always go through my bag, looking at everything and end up saying "wow, you eat so healthy", I'm like YUP!!!

I stopped eating beef for 3 years but I did eat salmon and chicken. I ended up anemic so I now eat beef again.
I now understsnd how this plan works for you so well. I have been following this plan for 3 weeks and have already lost 7 pounds. I am 5 ft tall and only had 15 pounds to loose but this eating plan is working well. But i have to comment that you going from vegan to vegetarian to this mostly plant based diet, seems to me why it appeals to you. But going on this plan from a mostly meat, potatoes, pasta, etc is a big adjustment. My biggest problem is trying to find enough variety. It is becoming a bit challenging not to be bored with it. But i am sticking to it. The biggest thing is that there is no way i can eat the volumne of food you eat. I follow the plan but breakfast and lunch i omly eat half of what you eat. For dinner i can eat about 3/4 of what youu eat. It is more than i really want to eat but i want to bridge that night time gap without getting hungry. All in all i agree with this plan.

yes! overnight oats. I just put my oats in a dish with water and cinnamon, cover, let it sit overnight, next morning it's ready!! I don't even bother heating it. I just add fruit and nuts, DELISH!!
I give my husband extra protein. I eat my amounts and let him have what he wants. I blessed that he loves veggies and salads. I just add in what will make him satisfied.

What about a sit down dinner at a wedding?
I have my meal in the car, I assess the situation. when it's mealtime and it feels right to me to bring my meal to the table and eat with everybody, then I go get it and bring it in. if not, then I eat in the car and come back and have a blast!!! meals at weddings are never at actual mealtimes so I can easily slip out to enjoy my meal and the come back and enjoy everybody while they are eating. it's really no big deal. nobody cares. I go to a sit down dinner at a wedding almost never!!!
So, you did your meal plan, as a vegan/vegetarian for 8 yrs, before changing it to what you do now? I’m the same type of vegetarian/vegan as you were, and need to lose weight. I’ve just wondered how your plan would be without eating meat or fish (I’m allergic to eggs).
I worked it for years as a 100% strict vegan. just look at the protein list and choose only those items that are vegan. nuts (a load of choices there), beans (endless, all the varieties), tofu. it works if you want it!!
I drink one Liter Water with a spoon of Apple Cidre vinegar in the Morning. Over the day I drink 2,5 Liter Water and Tee. Than at 11.00 Uhr, i eat the first organic fresh Food. Than I eat at evening 5 p.m. my second meal and much more than in the morning. I put together only good organic vegetables, with many greens and good organic chicken or fish, and seeds, and nuts, and good oils and with lot of healthy Herbst. I am so much healthier. I do not longer need sugar, or industriell cooked food anymore. I cook every day fresh and now, I learn food prepp from you. I hope, you can more cook and prepp? To show us? You’re such an inspiration my husband and I plan to live out of our RV once we purchase it one of the surgeons I work with purchased a Mercedes RV and that’s what we’re looking at I’m very excited. I am 51 and my husband is 54 so it’s something to really look forward to. I was doing vegetarian/ vegan yo-yo-ing for many years, did not eat any of the processed options, though, just the healthy stuff, but was not doing well, and was overweight. Then my functional medicine doctor suggested I bring chicken and seafood back into my diet. It was sooo difficult for me at first, but it worked for my body.

I am following the food plan. 6 days in. I did notice that by removing the processed and out to eat foods I am actually eating less. Its like processed and take out foods have something in them that leave you wanting more. I was a bottomless pit. I also did vegetarian. I did it for for 2 years. It actually got me to my heaviest and I developed some skin conditions. The copious amounts of rice, pasta, bread, crackers, etc, caused my sugar levels to spike so high i was getting skin boils. I was also bloated and uncomfortable. I couldn't even rest my arms at my side. I thought it was feom the veggies but it was actually way too many carbs. Then I did Keto/Carnivore/Ketovore and I lost some weight but I was missing veggies and bread and would end up binging. So I stopped and the weight crept back on. I enjoybthe foods im eating. I cant eat oatmeal though. It's one of those foods, for me, that for some reason makes me even hungrier and makes me overeat. not sure why, so i just stay away from it. I did get Ezikiel bread as suggested in your past post, since it doesnt have flour. I was wanting bread and didnt want to spiral into a binge. Works out perfectly. Weighing out my food has also helped so much and two huge servings of veggies definitely helps my satiety. I am so grateful for the food plan you follow. Because of Lulu's way, Im finding my way and I am so very grateful. It is definitely serving me well.🌻

Hi Lulu, FYI: I know you love your InstantPot. If you don’t make hard boiled eggs in it….try it. High pressure for five minutes, left to rest for five minutes then release pressure. Immediately transfer eggs to icy water. When cooled the shells will peel off so easily. It’s the only way I make them now. 🐓

Hi Lulu. I’ve been following a WFPB (whole food plant based) lifestyle for four years now. It’s basically vegan but without highly processed foods. It has drastically reduced my cholesterol, high blood pressure and easily maintain my weight. I basically function as you do, take my own food wherever go, don’t eat out, always plan area and food prep. I love this lifestyle and can’t ever imagine goi g back to a SAD diet. I was wondering if you have noticed any health benefits or changes since you added fish, chicken and eggs back
into your diet? I can’t imagine added them back, however, I do wonder sometimes if I’m getting enough protein. I’m 69 years young!
@@Marilyn7733 I was in perfect health before adding the fish/chicken/eggs back in and I remain in perfect health. I feel better every day and I don't the exact reason, so I'll just keep doing all that I do so it's covered! 😊

Isn't it an absolute SHAME that you have to say that healthy, organic, "real" food is ALWAYS going to be more expensive than junk? What kind of incentive is that for Americans to eat better? Sometimes, I just want to cry - that is my "crazy."
but, in the end, it's cheaper, because you are not spending money in restaurants, on fast food, and likely spending less on medical appointments and pharmaceuticals.
