    When I start to waver in mental strength, I’m coaching myself to listen to your words. I pull up a video and listen to through my EarPod while I do whatever I’m doing - doesn’t matter which video or if I’ve seen it before. Just hearing things like “that’s not my food” “being hungry won’t kill you” and “I just don’t do that” are really helpful. Hearing them on repeat is helping them get sticky. I’m even starting to create my own, like “I already know what that tastes like.”
    Thank you 😊 I really don’t want to be struggling to move through the world as I get older.

    You have inspired me and taught me so much. At 72 I had tried "everything" - most involved suffering to some degree and I would never have considered staying on them for maintenance (hence the continuous gaining back plus extra...). I am truly amazed to say that you have changed my life. I am down 35 lbs. and looking forward to continuing. Yes, I said looking forward - this is amazing. You are changing lives Lulu.

    I'm new here and started back on my eating journey. I've started on the food plan and miraculously it's beginning to work within just a few weeks. I've been a yo-yo dieter most of my life and find myself back in the gain stage of yo-yoing. From years of dieting, I know what works and doesn't work, but always somehow "give-in" after a period of time due to events, gatherings, holidays, etc. I also feel like through the years I used food for comfort due to unwanted stress that would pop up with everyday life. Lulu, I love the way you think about food and how you put your nutrition first. This has encouraged me to not quit and keep going, as well as make this a life long journey!! Thank you for inspiring me to do better, eat better, feel better, and be better! 🌻I'm so glad I found you and your positive outlook on food, life, and health in our older years!!

Just happened to find your channel and I can’t stop watching it. I totally agree with you about planning your life around your meals. I must admit, at first I thought you were kind of OCD to think like this - but then I realized that the horrible schedules that most people have - jobs, kids, shopping, appointments, socializing, etc. - THIS could be THE major reason why most Americans are in such terrible shape and cannot lose weight. When your meals get ignored, your mental and physical being goes out of whack, and most people deal with this by way of junky "comfort" food and less sleep. Thank you for a significant A-HA moment!

    Thank you so much for these videos Lulu! We make it complicated and you do a LOT to help Keep it Simple for us!!! I find when I am sick, sometimes I like to take my protein and my grain (if dinner) and veggies, put them in a bowl, warm them and add some fat free veggie stock or chicken stock onto it and it makes a nice simple soup. But I weigh and measure the components first. Thank you Lulu... I'm trying to get back on this horse in attempt to avoid, or put off, foot surgery. I am not at a healthy weight and know I will feel better if I can get to one!

    So agree about the exercise vs. food. It's recommended to walk just 10 min after a meal to process the blood sugar from the it. You can really see the difference if you test your blood levels too. So if you want to do the very minimum of exercise, just do that, and it will help much more than just the burning of those calories would do.

    You are very inspirational and disciplined. Well done!
    You are so right about our food supply..it is so damaged. The depleted top soil makes a big difference to the quality of our fresh food-plus transit time. I use frozen for vegetables I’m cooking , which are flash frozen right after picking-making them a better choice than fresh, most days. Unless an organic grower near me, this is my route. Lettuce etc… well you gotta go fresh of course-but still don’t count on it for being vitamin rich.
    Love your channel

Im at an ideal weight and always eat whole foods and don't go over my calories this maintains my weight, i go to the gym 4 times a week to maintain my muscle mass not to lose weight im 65 and want quality of life into old age. Thanks for answering that question about why you continue to weigh your food. Lots of good reasons I never thought about. To provide "evidence" that your decision is a good one - I just watched your Thanksgiving video and noticed how much adjusting to your plate you were making. In other words, despite being on a maintenance phase for many years your "guesses" of the amounts you were putting on your plate were off and you had to add or remove food a few times. You weighed the odds of ditching the scale and you have video evidence to support your case!

    The hardest part of this food plan is the social aspect. I went on a similar diet plan, lost tons of weight and have been dedicated to it. After a long while, it becomes easy to go out and not eat with everyone. But, in the beginning it will be the hardest thing. Discipline is so hard. For me, to be successful, I had to forgo any event where food was the event. I would bring my own food to holiday meals and my family was very supportive but friends were not. Not sure if they were jealous, maybe.

    I know your answer is no but can I ask do you ever have milk? Also I am in this for the long haul, before I was following a Dr with green smoothies, gave up on them, couldnt drink it, so I eat my veg, love veg, anyway, I'm not able to consume 32oz of veg, 16 at each meal, too much for me. I'm up to about 12oz per meal at mo, I weigh, have carbs, protiene and oil, all good, im concerned I'm not eating all the veg which was also recommended on the smoothie food plan.

      @LulusWay64 no, just a little in my tea in the morning, I only have milk in tea and only one cup, water the rest of the day till the following morning.
      Thank you xxxxx

      @@vanessafarber3043 what I suggest is that you put your cup of tea on the scale, pour your milk in and weigh how much you like to have. then stick to that amount every day, just once in the tea. and then make that your food plan!!

    A thin chicken soup using allowed ingredients when sick might be a solution?

    • @LulusWay64
      @LulusWay64  4 місяці тому

      but the soup still needs to contain the amount of food on the food plan, so whether the food is on a plate, or underwater in chicken stock, it's still eating the same food.

    I believe it's only as complicated as "WE" make it... What I mean by that is, if we don't WANT to do something we're creating more confusion in our brains.

    Lulu, I have a problem with staying on this food plan when my husband wants to eat his way. Making 2 separate meals is difficult but he expects it. 😢

    • @GrannyLinn
      @GrannyLinn 4 місяці тому +2

      @chereeburtner4659 I had the opposite problem. When I went on a diet, I’d lose 1/4 lb (I once gained on WW and they said I was cheating; I wasn’t). My husband, who got an extra potato or bread, would lose 10-12 lb in a week. It’s just hard!

    • @LulusWay64
      @LulusWay64  4 місяці тому +2

      you have to decide what do you want more: (1) to stay on the food plan and feel better and look better and take good care of yourself, or (2) make only on meal and not have to make 2 separate meals. 😊

    I'm going to copycat you on everything, even the supplements. I am not sure what all of the supplements are and which ones are taken 40 min. before food and which ones are taken in the morning and which ones at 3 p.m.? I too need to lose 110 lbs. so I am doing Everything just how you do but I need more instruction on the supplements. I saw the video explaining the 3 p.m. ones but not the morning?

    I totally get why you weigh your veg because in your mind you’ve eaten sufficiently, but my thought is I never knew you could ever overeat vegetables, providing of course we are omitting all the junk, therefore you should not have to weigh?, I’m guessing I know the answer it just works for you.
