The current fashion in the custom classic car world is patina and lowered suspension. This car is already there. Great find. Congratulations - you don't need to do anything to it, except, maybe, get it running. By the standards, i.e., fashion, of today, it's beautiful!
It's dropping more ass than a Tuesday night at a taco bar. But absolutely worth saving. Happy to be a new member of the low buck club. 🙌 You two are a hell of team!
If you ever pull a steering wheel again, here’s a free tip to prevent a free face rearrangement. Once the bolt/nut is off, wind it back on a couple of threads, then disengage the wheel. The bolt/nut should hold the wheel - hand tight should be plenty.
You don't even need a puller for it. Just back the nut off most of the way, and alternate push-pull at 9 and 3 on the wheel (pull at 9, push at 3, then reverse) a few times. It'll pull right off...usually
I didn't scroll thru the hundreds of comments (congrats on that!) but that GTO is pretty rare. The 2 bbl was only available in a GTO from 67 to 69 and is why it is a column shift GTO not a floor shift example. It does have some options though. The buckets are an option as well as the AM/FM radio. Also the "chicken wire" cowl grill does not specifically mean an early build car. I have a 1969 LeMans bought new by my grandfather that is heavily optioned that was built on December 22nd 1969 at the Baltimore Maryland plant and is has the exact same "chicken wire" style cowl grill. The car has 51k original miles and is completely original except the timing chain was replaced at 45k because I'm not a fan of factory nylon coated timing chains along with the water pump. The only other things that have been replaced are normal tune up parts. My gosh though, I've never seen a Pontiac frame that heavily rusted to the point the bumper fell off! Yikes!
This one is worse than the previous one, this proves that water and air can do more damage than bullet holes. Great Content as always! Keep up the good work Boss!
Gonna be honest here, man. Today was exceptionally shitty for me, and seeing an upload from you guys sure has made it better. I’m only five seconds in, by the way
5:40 Done that! When it happened, I thought to myself, "self, this is probably not gonna be your finest moment". Then it hit me. It was a common sense lesson in "f*** around and find out".
See, the guy didn't order AC with the car since the cars actually came factory with rust holes in the floor, so it has built in cabin cooling. That frame delete package is full custom though.

And you got a really great kid there. Nice to see a Dad teaching his son the importance of mechanical skills and good father and son time.

I can not tell you how much the low buck club has put a smile on my face. The content you create and especially include your son gives me hope for the next generation. The collaborations with some of the other you tube automotive creators is pure genius. I look forward to these videos.
I felt the pain there when the steering wheel flew off. A while back, I was installing a JaguarSport steering wheel (basically a Momo of some sort) into my Jag XJ40. The original steering wheel was somewhat stuck on the splines, not enough for a puller....but enough to mean I had to wriggle and pull it. It came away, quite suddenly.......into my face.

Also gotta do something to the floor pans, at least remove the seats and patch something in there that will hold for the trip. This thing wants to be saved, so save it, even if it means having to weld half the car again.
Here in the rust belt we consider that a good start to a project 😂 A lot of collectors are getting tired of the same old same old and seem to be paying good money for Oddly Optioned cars . Even if you just sit in the corner of the barn it's a good investment
