Well I have bought a lot of cars over the years but I have never bought a drag car at a yard sale. This one is a 72 Ford Pinto that has already been swapped to a V8 302 Ford engine, C4 transmission, and Ford 8 inch rear axle. It was dirt cheap at $2,000 and has had some parts stolen off of it and has not ran for a while so let's find out if she will run and rip again.
The carb we used is a HR-680-VS

did you get the 100K play button? also love the content
@@lunarvvolf9606 well look at it this way he will put a stop fuel cell so he won't have to worry about the gas tank
At least it didn’t do like my dad’s pinto he had and it caught fire. He taped up the wires and sold it to get a starlet or star fire or something that started with an s. He had traded a 76 mustang cobra he (had bought new) for the pinto . Pinto
@@prototype80my inlaws bought a new Monte Carlo on 1970. I told them I would buy it, please don’t trade it off. They traded it for a pinto station wagon. Looking back I think they were trying to tell me something.
Thursday night mayhem off the charts entertainment
When Tosh drove the Pinto, I could NOT stop laughing! The look on her face was precious! Thank you for the great entertainment.
Thank you!! She’s a wild woman
She ripped it best.
Let her eat tattor chip .lol
Tosh is certainly a keeper.....protect that lady at all cost 😂😂
That car looks like it was someone’s unfinished project, but nothing the Sleeperdude family can’t handle. I would pull things apart and see what you have, and start to build it the way you want and is safe!😊
Yeah maybe so
V8 pintos were popular back in the 70s. They needed a short water pump, and the headers were wild. They exited down the front of the engine
@@Sleeperdude It's easily my favourite car you guys have featured on the channel. Only the VW comes close, and honestly thats more about watching a father and his daughter share a project they both love.
This Pinto has the goods. It's even a good looking car, the lines of the pinto were always ready for the muscle car treatment, and with that huge scoop balancing those meaty tires (sorry, casings, lol) it looks right out of a hot wheels box.
Please give us a bunch more of this car, it's a diamond in need of recutting and you guys are the perfect people to do it. And then take it racing....I'm betting one of the kids might be ready and remember the smaller your driver the more HP goes to the car instead of the driver
I agree!!
First time catching this channel. I gotta say, I love the family dynamic! It's great seeing the kids just as excited as you to get the thing running.
SAME
Rewatching this: Josh, your dag-gum face when she fired up 1st time, with the 4 most important ppl in your life. PRICELESS
Thank you glad you enjoyed it
Josh absolutely loves seeing his kids happy. Amazing father
And his goats and pig….
Dont forget animal dad 🐐🐖🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐈⬛
Don't allow kids to play with guns or hot rods ?
@@penidulm My father took me hunting in Maine. He also taught me if I touched his rifles he’d clobber me. Bad things happen by irresponsible people or mentally I’ll people, not responsible gun owners.
Now imagine a father like mine, who loved seeing the very opposite and would help it along whenever he could!!!!
The startled shock portrayed when everyone reacted to the first start was cinematic gold...but I am very grateful I wasn't filmed, as I dang near fell out of the chair. LOVE IT!
So. It's small and lemon-yellow. And it slinked right outta the shop...
Ya gotta call it "Squeezie"🤟
🤣🤣🤣
Wawa’s face when squeeze said it’s to yellow 😂😂😂 thought she was gonna open the door and push her out 😂
Your daughter hugging that fire extinguisher in the car was hilarious, and the impromptu garage burn out was great!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
By far, my favorite part of this video is when Tosh gets behind the wheel. Her face while driving, tells you everything you need to know about that vehicle.
Wow! A $2000 Pinto race car----AND IT ACTUALLY WORKS ❤❤❤❤
How many 12 year old boys driving a race car?? WaWa kicking it as well!!! And Mom is just plum crazy 😂This looked like so much fun 😊 It looks the part, runs great, and best of all, Squeezy ALMOST noticed it existed 😂
(Great artwork there Squeezy! )
Thank you 😊
Very cool using the funnel with the vacuum works out great
Yeah for sure
More fun than a bag full of otters in the fish store! Love that car and the resurrection from yard art to tire burner. Thanks for sharing!
🤣🤣🤣🤣thank you
I think what I enjoy most about your videos is the interaction that you have with your children. You all truly enjoy just being a family and the life skills they are learning are priceless.
Now you only need a Vega to complete the small car trio of the 70's! A Gremmie, a Pony and the Vega!
Love Vegas
With creative shuffling, they'd all fit on the trailer at once!
Love the way the kid's help and the way you let them drive the car immediately after you got it going . That was awesome kahoots to you and the kids.
The smile on Wawa’s face!!!
She couldn’t wait to drive …
And the look on Tosh when she first drove and did a spin !!!
Excitement overload!
Congratulations on 200k subscribers. You really deserve it. You and your family are such lovely people. Keep doing what you do.
Thank you
😂😂😂 MORE DIPSTICKS THAN THE PLACE I USED TOO WORK AT. 😂😂😂😂😂
Fantastic upload as always SleeperDude family.
But Josh your comment about Dipsticks had me in stitches. We all have a dipstick or 2 in the work place.
That’s right!!!!
Yeah that cracked me up too.
"Fun for all the Family" never meant so much to me until I came across your channel.
Love the Pinto. I remember when there were loads of them on the roads, along with Mavericks and Mustangs. I can smell the nostalgia.
Thank you.
Neil :-)
Love how you involved the whole family 💕 your childrens future will definitely benefit from your patience and knowledge .
I am blessed
You just may have to let Tosh do the burnout contest, she is definitely qualified. You can tell when she did burnouts in the yard you could see in her face when it went from sanity directly to insanity. That pinto is gonna be a blast.
I second this motion. Either this or the Gremmie with her drivin will win cleetus burnout comps no prob
Gotta tell you that I feel blessed that you guys allow us into your lives. ❤️
Thank you
fr makes my sad heart happy when i get to see there videos
This brings back memories, I bought a 1974 Vega wagon. I pulled the original 4 cylinder engine out (blown). Transplanted a 350 CI ran it down the strip a few times. During high school and after graduation those 60’s & 70’s cars were affordable $500 to $1,200 so you can imagine I went through my share of cars, all running. Seeing your cars brings back memories, thank you for great content and being a great father with your kids. Tosh showed how to get it done, great purchase and addition to the family.
Awesome thank you
I remember those days . wish I still had just one of those cars.
LOVE THE PINTO!!! The body is so nice and that engine sounds GREAT. With the back being so short and light, it sounds like the perfect Burnout car!! Squeezy really is a very good artist! I was amazed by the quality of her two paintings she did. I bet she could sell those on your merchandise site. Love your family and animals!
We are going to try to do a burnout at ford fest. She is getting very good at painting
Coolest dad in the world, letting your kids drive the new car.
Thank you
I was never allowed to drive my dad's car
I'm a 40yr old man and I'm jealous of the life these kids are living.
I’m fair bit older and jealous. I said I’m moving in. Get a bunk bed in the shop for us. Haha.
I'm 52 and feel the same 😂😂😂
50 and ditto. Learn to slide before official DL. All the toys and fun. The life.
Everyone is jealous
Don’t worry, u get it free
Had to shed a few happy memory tears on this one. I was 6 and my daddy let me help do his oil changes on his 73 lime green (looked more avocado) pinto. This was the first car he let me help service and that is what started my love for cars. You guys are awesome and can't wait for the next video!
Thank you
I helped my dad with his old Valiant one winter up north, we had to put a cut down barbecue grill under oil pan as it was -30. Pinto in my opinion got a bad wrap, they were decent cars that got good gas mileage.
@@quantumtime6883 I totally agree. I was sad when my daddy traded it in for a Datsun 210.
for real. you have a life time viewer now... out of all the car channels and vids, to see you do this with your family, from start to finish, to see your kids working on it with you, your wife video taping and helping to teach your children about all this. im jelous, wish i had a family to do this stuff with.. definatly a unique, fun, and rewarding channel. and a rare thing in this day and age, a family enjoying eachother, and not on their phones, and doing something together. thank you for sharing.
I started with Vice Grip Garage but it’s just something about the family dynamic handling biz and fixing cars. Keep the vids coming sleeper dude🤙🏾
Motor trend ruined the vice gripper and the unplanned true to life humor of this channel makes that other guy look like a copy of the read green show.
You and Tosha are great parents! I love this channel, I love the kids being involved, I love the animals! I love that you give God the praise and glory for all he has done in your lives!!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Sorry, what about the safety of the children?😮
Awesome family program to watch. The involvement the kids have is priceless.
The look on Wawas face when u lit the tires off the first time was priceless as a dad myself this warms my heart. Parenting done right for sure
Absolutely loved this video. The expression on your face when it started was priceless! Can't wait to see what's in store for the Pinto.
Glad you enjoyed it!
His face and that laugh and everyone happy IS WHY I watch this channel. I can't even get my own projects and hot rods done because i watch these videos as soon as they're posted. Lol
Thank you!!
I know that they have repeated it a lot, seeing your happy face when the pinto has started to work, and especially when you have driven it... it may sound a bit silly, but it has made my day.
Thank you very much for the effort you put into these videos ( both making them , and especially editing them ) .
Thank you
One of the first 2 builds I started out with. Pinto with a 302 and Vega with a 350. 4 spd in pinto, auto in the Vega. Oh for the good ole days! Thank you guys for taking me back.
Thank you
Josh you never cease to amaze me. You really know your stuff. I love the look on your face when the engine pops off for the first time.😂
The Pinto is super cool. My 10 year old and I watch every episode as soon as they come out. Thanks for making a great show that our family can enjoy together.
Thank you
Sleeperdude is the only channel i dont mind putting up with the adverts, the content is so entertaining, thank you for another great episode.
Thank you
I agree!
@@Sleeperdude😅
What a jewel and a ripper!!! it fired up I got excited, wasn't expecting it to that fast, this made me smile to the end, Great find SLEEPERDUDE!!!
1:04:16 based on the smile on her face I'd be willing to bet this is one of those times Wawa will NEVER forget. Great to see and I only wish more people could spend true quality time with their kids while also teaching them important life skills.
OMG ITS AWESOME 😂😂😂 thank you giving pintos and pacers their deserved spotlight! Love seeing the kids excited about it and growing up like we did without cell phones 😎
Thank you
Just when we thought we saw the best videos, you come out with a better video! I was clapping so hard when it started, and I was so happy for all of you! Everything is a family affair when it comes to the Sleeperdude channel, and it's great to watch. I'm so happy you have a great Ripper there! Yay!
Thank you so much
I just finished watching this video as my first sleeperdude video. It will definitely not be the last I'm going to watch all of them . Absolutely fantastic content and love the family style show . Blessings to all of you
I can't believe you let Tosh drive it. I knew she was going to turn it loose, hahahaha. Wawa with her fancy finger nails working on the car was awesome. The look on Josh and Wawa's face when it fired off was priceless. You definitely got a great deal on that one. Really glad you guys were safety minded enough to take a fire extinguisher on the rides. As cobbled as it was, I was afraid it might have been in gear when you started it. Thanks for another exciting video.
Thank you
As a father of 6 myself. The happiness in Wawa's and Ralphie's eyes was priceless..
Among my favorites of your videos. Brought back memories of the 3 Pintos I've had. One thing that kind of brings tears to my eyes though is the price. Gone are the days when one could buy a fairly decent, running, drivable vehicle for $200 or less. Bought my first Pinto at auction for $110 and drove it home.
I just LOVE how you happen to get your kids involved. Two Thumbs Up, on teaching them young.
Thank you I am blessed
Seeing the smiles on your kids faces driving that thing around the yard=PRICELESS!!!!!!
My husband is addicted to your videos! We love all of your animals too! You guys are so genuine and crack us up! You are an amazing mechanic with an awesome family!
Who knew a yellow Pinto could be a “certified ripper”, lol? WTG Sleeperdude pit team! Very funny video. I laughed throughout it.
Awesome thank you
You guys are awesome! Living life on your terms with your family and having fun! This is the kind of stuff people look back on and wish they would have done.
A genuine family!
Y'all are my favorite channel to watch for cars and just good family entertainment. Your trip out west was awesome!
And now you have that Pinto! Love y'all!
What an awesome Pinto. I can totally see Wawa running this one down the dragstrip. This is a great addition to your Sleeperdude fleet. Another amazing video, keep it up. Have a blessed end of the week.
She does love it
Sure is a nice one. I had my reservation on what he paid not knowing the engine. He lucked out there was a gem in there and it was pro built. The rest looked really hack shop.
Y'all are just the best! Never fail to make me smile and laugh:) From seeing WaWa grinning ear to ear when you was taking them a ride to Mom barefooting it old school...so funny and fun to watch! You got yourself a bonified yard sale ripper! Hope to meet you guys again soon, take care!
Its awesome seeing you have your whole family involved and having such a blast!
Squeezie is a very good artist. Love the pinto and happy it started so easy for you
Thanks so much
Tosh should enter the burnout competition some time. That would be awesome. She needs her own burnout car.
I was thinking the same thing. It seems like she would be a natural at it.
Bet Tosh gonna give Josh a run for his money
Oooh! A Tash and Josh spin off with the Pinto and Gremlin.@@johnwonder9466
I agree
I’ve known many burn outs
Dad is a legend lol totally reminds me of my dad when i was younger. " who wants to drive it? You wana drive it?" I love that. And those paintings Are awesome.
Thank you
So much JOY! You and Yours are WONDERFUL. Loved seeing everyone and especially MOM spinning out. My older brother drove a pinto on a dirt track years ago at EastSide Speedway in Waynesboro VA. Thanks for the amazing family fun.
As soon as josh started spraying down the casings i knew the the place was about to get Smokey lol … another great video great build its now my fav car also thank y’all so much for sharing y’all’s life with us
The look Wawa gave Squeezy when she said it was "a bit too yellow" 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
It's great how Squeezy could give a flip and doesn't care HAHAHAHAHA. The girl has a strong sense of her own self and agenda !!!
This is what family is all about!!! I love the fact you and your entire family is involved in this project … including your animals.. lol..I’m so glad I came across this video.. Thank you and God Bless you and your family!!! Will definitely watch all your videos and tell my friends and family to do the same!!!
Awesome job getting the Pinto going!! 👍 I've built a build like that one but I moved the drive train back so that the radiator support didn't have to be cut and the front grill and bumper could be reinstalled. We built a tube frame for the engine to sit in. I must agree the build on this Pinto is sketchy and that be nice about it. I'm amazed it wasn't a fire sale car with that great wiring.. I would be scared to take it down a race track... God forbid something lets go and it ran into something... Once again be proud of your family for such williness to help and provide such support. That Mabel really loves you... Hey don't forget you owe the Galaxie a distrbutor and don't buy the cheapest one on eBay.... been there done that one too... LOL😂 God Bless!!
I can tell the BOSS is going to crack the whip about the new garage..so you employees better keep it picked up and clean .Get em Tosh..lol
You guys are crazy fun! Thanks for taking us along on this ride! It's so exciting to see you get it running! You guys are good!😊
This video is awesome. I owned a 460 pinto back in the mid-90's but the sketch level on this one is a solid "10". Couldn't beat it for the price though. The goats cracked me up too. I thought I had it bad with my cats but at least they don't try to eat car parts. LOL.
Awesome thank you
First time viewing this channel lm in the Bronx NY , l used to have a 1971 pinto back in 1980, l got from my brother in law, l toyed with the idea of putting a 289 C.I.D. in it but never did after seeing your video l wish l had, it was so nice to see how you're family is so involved and its obvious there's a lot of love there , keep up the good work ! 😊
The first car worked on in two months, but it was worth the wait! Loved seeing Wawa and Ralpie wrenching on her, but also loved Squeeze's paintings. You guys are a real treat to watch! Thank you for another great video!
Very nice paintings indeed - always encourage your children to do what inspires them and they will be very happy. Love the smiles you all demonstrated.
You and your family are just the Best! I'm grinnin from ear to ear every time I watch. Great kids wonderful parents! Please continue with the videos. Much appreciated!❤❤
Thank you
Hi, I just found your channel now mind you i am pretty stuck on the shows i watch but i think your show is great, I love the fact that you include your family. All my kids are all grown and moved out on there own. I get very lonely and think back at the things i should have done with my kids. Watching you and your family puts a smile on my face. The little Pinto is great and can be such a fun car,, I use to have a 1972 Vega wagon with a 327 fuel ejection and a Coan 400 trans and boy did i ever have a blast in that car. Anyway thanks for the smile and keep up the good work, May GOD bless each one of you. Have a good night.
Thank you I’m glad you like it. I blessed
Every video is better than the last!! You guys make it look so easy. Sleeperdude I bought a 73 super beetle at a yard sale. Love each and every video God bless you.
So excited to see yall working in the new shop...its the biggest and best i think!! Cant wait to see all the cars come together in the sleeeperdude garage!!! Dont think ive seen another pinto build on youtube!!
Thank you we are loving it
Great to see the family in the new shop working on a car together. I laughed so hard at the expressions on your faces when it started up! Priceless😀 Tosh is the bomb with her driving - would not want to go up against her in a burnout competition. Kinda surprised she didn't go home with some items from the yard sale, though. Thank you for letting us share your lives. I SO look forward to the weekly videos. BTW, loved Squeezy's paintings!!
Thank you she did a good job driving
I think this was a very successful first video for that new shop! Good job you guys! It's a cool alternative to a pinto. Like you mentioned there not as fun unless there's a hog leg in the bay. Didn't take long to sort it out either. Fun times ahead for the family in this little pony.
Hello Sleeperdude Family,
I love watching your shows on both channels. The love for vehicles in your family is awesome and it's good to see the chemistry between you and the kids.
I also couldn't wait to watch another episode of your 6000 mile yourney, Keep going on making great content.
Stefan van den tillaard, The Netherlands (Holland).
Congratulations on your shop! Makes a huge difference and enables you to do so much things witch I know will amaze us. Good find with the Pinto. Buying those old cars is kind of like finding a new type of mixed candy everytime. This one included way more good bites than we all expected. And.. Tosh should get to dragrace it too if you bring it out for Ford-fest. :)
I enjoy your channel so much. Have a nice time Sleeperdude family!
Thank you!! Yes I have been telling her she should race it
Seeing Ralphie Wawa& dad with all 6 hands knee deep in that engine bay was nice footage. Dag-gum it, that's really cool
Thank you
I'm steady watching the family love ❤❤they all have for one another...gives me a happy feeling seeing that family structure beautiful ...keep it up....
Cool to see everyone respectful of one another...wish I had a dad like that growing up....
I happened to find this video today and i'm glad i did it took me back to when i was a kid helping my dad work on cars he taught my brother and i how cars worked by letting us dismantle his parts cars with just 2 rules "don't break anything or lose my tools"and he always answered all our questions we both grew up to work on cars and trucks for a living the joy on your kids faces while riding in the pinto they worked on was priceless we need more kids in this hobby i applaud you both for including them Karl from eastern Canada
I was surprised that Pinto had any life left in it. It looked like the result of an explosion in a junk yard. 😆 But your skills and patience have put another classic car back in action. A good name for it would be "Wild Pony". You and you family continue to bring us great entertainment. 👍👍👍
Yeah for sure
The smog holes on front of the heads blowing exhaust forward had me rolling😂, Wawa holding the fire extinguisher…mint!!!! LOOOVVEE the Turbine wheels too
The look on your alls faces when that car fired right up!! Priceless 😂. Thanks for sharing your alls lives with all of us.
Thank you
I have to say that what you and your family do together is just awesome!! I grew up the same way with my dad and brothers, always tinkering on something together and taking it to the woods or the fields to play to till we broke it. Then spend the next day together fixing it to do it all over again, great times! Great job Dad and Mom, love the channel!
Thank you I am blessed
Dang that thing is a ripper! Mama never fails to make the video! Great to see you guys all working together. That first start was awesome!
Family goals. Hope my daughter is as excited to wrench on old junk as your kids are when she gets a little older. You're living the dream, man!
Absolutely the most entertaining car video I’ve seen on UA-cam.
Love your family, including the fury ones.
Thank you.
It's so great what you and your wife do with your kids the memories and experiences you give them is great thank you for sharing them ❤
No other videos on YT make me smile like these do! Ralphie reminds me so much of myself when I was a kid! I grew up in my family’s junkyard and was driving cars before I was his age! Love your videos bro! If you’re ever in Northwest Ga give me a holler I’ll show ya’ll around the yard!
Hi from Toronto Canada😊 1974 Pinto station wagon was given to me and was my first car 👍
I’m a new subscriber and watched this video and others…wow long videos I dose off from you talking about what you are doing😂, I get good naps 💤 from your videos…but you hinted the longer I watch your videos the better for your channel rewards 👍
I like the family dynamics, everyone contributing to the channel including the pets and animals.
Congrats Pinto winning and on your success being an awesome UA-camr after 14 years 🎉
Yep 👍 thanks for watching
I just subbed, so far I love the content, and it's awesome how the kids " children and goats" genuinely look like they want to help and they seem to know there way around a car. And that pinto is going to be sweet
Thank you we appreciate it
I ❤ watching y'all when y'all are in the car's after you get them running. Every one is smiles for miles! It's awesome!!!👍👍
Super excited to see the sleeper fam working on a project in the new fancy shop!! Really enjoyed the road trip videos but happy to see you all turning wrenches again!
The smiles on their faces is worth it all. I’ve never seen your videos or channel before but I’m hitting the subscribe button asap. Bless you all and keep wrenching bud
Hi everyone. So, you got a canary. Cool. Done really well with that engine, though I did think that dodgy Dizzy was a mistake. But wow what a flier. Can't wait to see a good cassing recking later, gonna blow the things clean off I reckon.
Also good to see the workshop's working out.
As always great video, have fun and stay safe. Cyall. 👍
Ok great thank you
That is an awesome find for a first car project in the new shop you guys just built. Ralphi was just as enthusiastic about it as he was when his corvette was delivered. As always, really enjoy the content and family togetherness of your channel.
I think Tosh knows more than she lets on about the cars. She immediately caught the missing gasket on the filter. 👍
My 1st car was a 1973 Ford Pinto station wagon. It had a 4 cyl and was gutless but man it cornered better than anything I've ever had it acted like it was on rails. That was in 1990 good times
Nice
Oh my god I can't believe you got that running. It's amazing starts on the first crank. Sounds super strong. Awesome job sleeper dude family
