The high/reverse clutches are applied in reverse and third gears so if you have a solid revers, third might be recoverable by adding Lucas to a fluid change. I know you say all the time that your videos are not educational and that you’re not teaching anyone how to do anything the right way but honestly I’ve learned more from your videos than any other UA-camr. Your videos show that some stuff can be half assed and that it doesn’t all have to be completely perfect which takes away that anxiety you have when you first start working on cars. You also show how to do stuff without the 10 million dollar specialty tool you’ll only use once and that’s a hell of a money saver in itself
I own a 63.5 falcon sprint with a 260 and 4sp. Granddad bought it new drove for about 65k miles and then it got parked In a pole barn. I’ve done a frame off restoration on the old girl and what I’ve found out is it’s basically the same as the first mustangs. Only difference is the 260 vs having a 289 or a 302. I kept the car all original until a few months ago and just purchased everything to make a 4 barrel and going to electronic ignition. I love what you do with all the old cars and try to give which ones are fees able new life and the ones that a little far gone at least the chance to live on in parts on something else. Keep up good work!!!
I haven't missed a video on either channel since I found your channel about a year ago and I even went back and watched every one I could find. Love the channel and appreciate you for the entertainment. Thanks again Puddin.
That was a fun episode, I am a sucker for a classic mustang though. I want to point out three things because that's my job as a UA-cam commenter. -Theres a high chance thats a roller cam 5.0 HO motor -those efi valve covers don't have a provision for a pcv valve, I would consider spending the $0-50 on a set of valve covers that does have a place to add a pcv -there are two valve bodies used in 65-73 mustangs c4 transmissions and difference is where they placed the position for drive. on a early 65-67 valve body drive is one position further back past reverse than on the later cars. I have had those swapped on a couple cars before and you think the trans is broken until you knock the shifter and it finds drive magically in the second gear position then it works. your linkage could be all sloppy loose too. That was great, cant wait to see more.thank you
Another great video. I love how you get the whole family working on projects brings back fond memories of times that passed far too quickly. Savour these times, the time spent together is worth more than any rig. Keep up the great work guys.
I have never touched drum brakes in my life but after watching hours of you and junkyarddigs I am sure I can do the rear drums on my 91 celica with no help at this point
Drum brakes have their advantages. I don’t consider them an outdated design in the least when they are incorporated on rear axles of certain applications.

But being disabled and 54 almost 55 I know it’s going to be be God’s will if I get my dream car’s or truck!!!
That Mustang is mint. It has patina, not rot. I'm in the UK and things over here rust for fun, because the councils chuck tons of salt on the roads every winter. I like Yank tin. Had a '76 Trans Am 4 speed from '96 - '05. Replaced it with a '88 Mustang 5.0GT 5 speed in '04. Still got the Mustang, and also now got a 2002 Dodge Ram Cummins long bed dually and a '55 Chevy with a built 454 and Muncie 4 speed manual. The Chevy is a replica of the car in 'Two Lane Blacktop', but even spicier. It's a monster. It's also currently broken. The right rear wheel snapped off on its last run out.
That was a cool little revival, the ol stang performed pretty well even with the trans leaving the chat!awesome video! Can’t wait to see what you do with it

I have to ask, did this car come out of Nebraska? That thing is identical to the Grande my friend had in high-school in the 80s, yellow with a mostly worn off black rattle can paint job, last seen being drove into a field belonging to my friends relative. I also have a 70s Grande, I'm the second owner. So many items that came factory on it lots of people don't believe when I tell them it came from the factory that way. I know for a fact the person that owned it before me did no upgrades, he was a banker and a long time best friend of the family, which is how I became the owner of it. I still have it, it has over three hundred thousand miles and no has a small rod knock and a tiny amount of rust. I totally love it, it's never left me stranded.
Stuck valve body . Just went through exact same thing with my 75 bronco. Get a pick and make sure everything in the valve body moves. Worth a shot anyway.
Hey, riding a bicycle is about the same thing, they are all different but will get ya there., those transmissions are simple fixes as a lot like any of them. A little harder to get the band for the lockup on the inside is kinda tricky but once figured out becomes a lot easier
38:17 I'll tell you what, I have 30 3/8" ratchets and that blue and gray handle Quinn from Harbor Fright is my GO-TO ratchet. It's got a GREAT grip on it, it has the button to release the sockets and it's just about an inch longer than all the other ones I own. I love it
i know its been over a year but i would really like to see a resto in this. this car seems to have good bones and you've worked with much worse. this car deserves the love and needs to be back on the road in its full glory.
My first (And only...) Mustang was a 1969 Grande, what a nice car... well it had no engine or trans, or interior, paint, dash... Well i had it for 18 years, sitting in my yard. Traded it for a 1988 S-10 Blazer, a 1974 Chevelle hearse and a 1978 Yamaha Passol moped. The hearse came with enough people inside that i had to sell it really cheap, so they moved with it. The Passol, tried to restore it years ago but i am still at stage 1: complete dissassembly. Blazer also sitting there in my yard "I will restore it one day".

For reference, a "bar" is a metric unit of pressure equal to 100 kilopascal (kPa) and comes to 14.5 psi. For comparison, sea-level atmospheric pressure (1 atmosphere, or atm) is 14.7 psi, so roughly equivalent.
Really love how you through stuff together and your still a 16 year old hooligan behind the wheel sometimes
Shit your just like me
I know you say all the time that your videos are not educational and that you’re not teaching anyone how to do anything the right way but honestly I’ve learned more from your videos than any other UA-camr. Your videos show that some stuff can be half assed and that it doesn’t all have to be completely perfect which takes away that anxiety you have when you first start working on cars. You also show how to do stuff without the 10 million dollar specialty tool you’ll only use once and that’s a hell of a money saver in itself
Honestly love the way this car looks!
Woot Woot! Thanks for the new video!
You betcha
It's wonderfully reassuring to see the youth of America being taught how to make things new again.
Good one Dalton, love the way you both worked to revive a car worth saving. Be safe.
I haven't missed a video on either channel since I found your channel about a year ago and I even went back and watched every one I could find. Love the channel and appreciate you for the entertainment. Thanks again Puddin.
New brake drum in a can!
Lmfao "it's in a field" "it's a revival can it drive 300 feet home" lmfao Dalton 🤣 😂 @Pole Barn Garage
Great video as usual. This Mustang is cool and I think it definitely deserves a paint job someday
That was a fun episode, I am a sucker for a classic mustang though. I want to point out three things because that's my job as a UA-cam commenter.
-Theres a high chance thats a roller cam 5.0 HO motor
-those efi valve covers don't have a provision for a pcv valve, I would consider spending the $0-50 on a set of valve covers that does have a place to add a pcv
-there are two valve bodies used in 65-73 mustangs c4 transmissions and difference is where they placed the position for drive. on a early 65-67 valve body drive is one position further back past reverse than on the later cars. I have had those swapped on a couple cars before and you think the trans is broken until you knock the shifter and it finds drive magically in the second gear position then it works. your linkage could be all sloppy loose too.
That was great, cant wait to see more.thank you
Your out standing in your field! 🤩😉🤣
Buh dum tisssss
Another great video. I love how you get the whole family working on projects brings back fond memories of times that passed far too quickly. Savour these times, the time spent together is worth more than any rig. Keep up the great work guys.
Will do! Thanks for watching!
Damn. I've been under a rock. Almost 72K subscribers. Good for you Dalton. You surely deserve it!!
Thanks kindly!
You and your brother is comedic gold, y’all had me laughing my ass off.
My favorite Mustang is the 1970. The year of my birth. My first Mustang was a 65 fastback. Then I bought a 92 5.0 litre fastback LX. And Currently I have a 2018 Mustang GT premium 2 with lots of extras. Love the channel!!!
That's a pretty solid rig. I think you should leave the patina as is. Looks good on it! It's gonna be awesome to see what ya do with the .22LR Mustang. Definitely gonna have to get .22LR Mustang decaled on it somewhere 😂
I could watch you all day, but I gotta go work now. I'll check out your store. You are funny and a talented backyard mechanic and you look an awful lot like my old buddy billy shuman. He passed in 2012. He was as big an enthusiast as you are about cars. You just need a baby blue or yellow sweatshirt with the sleeves cut off and you could be twins. Brings back memories. Thanks again for your content and your wonderful friends and family.
I do love the idea of a father & son projects but the chemistry you guys have with the new guy for the channel is like where has he been my whole life.!!😂😂😂
You guys are funny as he 🏒 🏒
Dude your going to be the richest you tuber in the grave yard.
He’s already there besides the graveyard part. 3 square body’s, a mustang, a vette, classic Pontiacs, he’s got all the high dollar collector vehicles. Lol
@@Robrt32 not to mention a million dollar shop.
I enjoy his videos because unlike others; Dalton actually has a REAL job. Seems like the kinda guy we’d have a beer with
I always favored the 1969-70 coupes more than the èarlier models. They have a more muscular stance.
I honestly know they have people all over the country selling them cars for basically nothing so they can see it running and driving on UA-cam and brag about it! Which is sad because I’d be driving it every where showing it off!!! But I’m disabled and I have given up on getting my dream car. He has both of my dream car’s the lemans and Torino. But being disabled and 54 almost 55 I know it’s going to be be God’s will if I get my dream car’s or truck!!!
Nice treat today. Your videos always entertain. Love the 3 generation video.
Thanks 👍
“Looks like I’ve worked on this before”
That Mustang is mint.
I love the videos keep up the awesome work! Also gotta love all the upgraded safety features.
Thanks! Will do!
Love the 70 mustang.
That was a cool little revival, the ol stang performed pretty well even with the trans leaving the chat!awesome video! Can’t wait to see what you do with it
Where in the hell do you keep finding these gems?
Marketplace
That can be a neat little rat rod 👌🏻, keep up the great work Dalton 🤙🏻
Thanks! Will do!
My Husband and I both love watching you and JD!!! Keep up the amazing work on the budget build’s. And ignore all those people who bust you for it. Some of them live in Canada so they don’t have anything else besides complaining. lol! I live in Canada.
Thanks so much!!
I think it would be cool for you to swap in a aod trans and a 4bbl and make a daily out of it. Maybe some more “restomod” things to make it a better driver. Definitely cool to see some variety!
Not a ford fan but very cool car. Can't wait to see wha you do with it
everybody should be a Ford fan
@@toddbob55 maybe but thank God they aren't lol
Stuck valve body . Just went through exact same thing with my 75 bronco. Get a pick and make sure everything in the valve body moves. Worth a shot anyway.
it looks good like to see more maybe paint like jd car ???
Probably something like that
Street signs work really great for new floorboards👌🏼
Yes they do
Oh Hell
Hey, riding a bicycle is about the same thing, they are all different but will get ya there., those transmissions are simple fixes as a lot like any of them. A little harder to get the band for the lockup on the inside is kinda tricky but once figured out becomes a lot easier
Hell yeah! New video. If you ain’t watchin, you ain’t right!!!
A perfect candidate for a scrub down with washing powder and scotchbrite before a good coat of grey primer.
Primer/paint could happen...
I love it
That Mustang is exactly my age. Old! and 53. Happy to see her getting some love.
i know its been over a year but i would really like to see a resto in this. this car seems to have good bones and you've worked with much worse. this car deserves the love and needs to be back on the road in its full glory.
From back in the day when Pioneer and Kenwood were the top end audio systems.
Yep!
