I watch this content and can't help but wonder how many smashed knuckles, black fingernails, deep cuts, sore back and knees and swapping glasses so you can see aren't shown but must be felt making this content because I know when I'm working on cars that how it goes. Derek, I found this channel a little while back and I gotta say, your channel is treasure! I just love every one of them from start to finish. Thanks for allowing all of us to hang out with you while you work on these old girls. You crack me up😆
Wow! Two VGG videos in one week!? Love the videos Derek, please don't ever stop doing what you do. Been here since the early days and I'm one of the channels biggest fans! Congrats on taking 1st in the burnout competition. Much deserved!
Derek you need the help of some of our trusted you tube fellas to come level rusty acres and put down at least some packed road base to put all those cars on
Not gonna lie, still hoping to see someone work with these slant 6s with some modern upgrades and remain in the car. Sure it's less easy, but that's sort of the point.
I subscribed a few months ago, Found you through Cletus. I enjoy the videos so much I’ve gone back to watch all the historical videos. I used to be able to work on cars and now I’m laid up due to medical issues, but I can still get my thrill through this channel. I love your wit and it’s pretty cool you have your family involved. They appear very well raised and have awesome parents, and they will grow up to appreciate all they have been taught.
Hi Derek , thanx for hanging in to make this terrific episode ! I,m sure the wonderful Jessica is taking care of you .... sincerely hope you feel better soon !! 😊😊👍❤
Takes one of the most expensive hobbies, building cars, and making it accessible to everybody. Love your thinking, love your rides, love your vids. Hope you have a great weekend Derek.
Back in the day 1976 I put a 440 6 pack with a .four speed into a 72 dodge swinger(Canadian) with a slant 6 I changed the K frame bigggest problem was exhaust, used factory cast iron headers.
Another great video! Was at the fair wearing one of my Vice grip garage shirts and a fella walked up and said if your wearing that shirt you must be a pretty good ol boy lol. Nice to meet another fan of yours we talked about favorite episodes. Keep up the great content.
One human, (sick) puts a V-8 where a 6 once set. All the while, crackin' us up every minute. Thanks Derrick, you're defiantly one of a kind. Can't wait to see part 2 and hear that thrown together mess RUN!!!!
I'm just wondering if the rear differential is going to hold up to this massive power output Derek is expecting? Hope it has a nice sound to it, albeit he says it doesn't like to idle!
Meanwhile given where I live I am happy to take 40hp difference in power to have the v6 version of my vehicle and save a lot of money getting more than double the gas mileage of the v8 version of my car. $5.45 a gallon for regular is not good I run 89 and I pay like $5.75 a gallon
I really enjoy this episode of the 73 duster . Brings back memory's when my brother had his 73 duster his had a 340 and was standard . His pass away now so when I see someone work on or has one it cheers me up and makes me think of my brother and the good times he had with his car . Hope you keep working on it till its finish and hear it run and drive.
Ooook man you are officially the Steve Irwin of automobiles at this point! We as fans need to throw you a big ol honky tonk sooner or later brosef,i watch all your videos end to end without skipping.
I had been watching VGG for abt a year and I was trashed one day and had no business driving and I was an hr from home at a gas station in Cookeville TN and looked over and there he was! I had overdone the drink and I think he knew something was up with me but I still said man I love your channel! He still took a selfie with me and probably said. Damn. That guy was trashed. But he was exactly how you think he'd be super friendly. I just wish I had been clear headed. My INTEGRITĪ was comprimised. I couldn't remember the name of the Independence that's how bad off I was that day but I said. The burnout car that you hit the wall in and he said yeah the independence! I'm a Marine Vet and my Veteran Plates probably kept him from saying get away drunk man. But point of the story..very good friendly people.
Hey Derek, lookin good! A lot like my Duster- 318 stroked to 390 (but NOT with an LS valvetrain, nothing wrong with Ma Mopar's if you do it right) with 727 trans that I built basically in my driveway. I really wish I had a lift like yours, I'm gettin' too dang old for crawling around under cars! Can't wait to see how this beast turns out! Keep the MOPAR stuff coming!
I'm watching this after the fact of watching last night's upload of the Giveaway announcement. Don't know if me recent purchases count but I'll definitely be ordering more today in hopes of winning the giveaway. God is merciful. Maybe he will grant me my first HOT ROD. Couldn't imagine a better one for my first. After hearing what kind of animal this motor is... I have to have it. One off, VGG Franken-Powered, super clean DUSTER?!?! If I won, I would hand polish that oxidized paint to bring back some POP to what I suspect was metal flake paint. I love Gold paint. Only thing I might do out of the ordinary is Old Skool Cool side pipes. Super high revving Stroker has to have Side Pipes to rattle your brain parts from the screaming banshee Franken-Beast of a motor. In last nights Part 2 episode you were asking about what color interior. My 2¢ is Black with Gold Stitching in an Old Skool Cool Cross Stitch through the bucket and back sections. Honestly though, my Go To favorite is SOUTHWESTERN Color/pattern Saddle Blanket pickup bench covers. I love a Bench seat. Saddle Blankets are wicked cool and comfortable. Derek has entertained me, taught me, and presented himself just by his nature as Role Model material. I just started watching as a late comer, picked up a membership, and made my first order. I'm proud to support someone like Derek and his family. AND he's a Veteran supporter and respects the Flag properly...??!! WHAAAAAAT?!?! I'm a fan for life right out of the gate. My wife even enjoys watching. She respects the family show aspect too. Nice to see someone raising kids right, loving his wife, and doing what he loves in a respectable way.
Keep up the great work Derik! We like the revivals, but the hot rodding on a realistic budget keeps things in reality for the average guy. I've been around since the beginning, Thank you for staying you!
With how many engines you pull and parts you store, I'd buy a stock of skids. Get a pallet jack for in the shop and forks for your skidsteer or tractor. Put some skid shelving racks in against the back or side wall of the new section of the garage. Or even build a nice lean-to and concrete pad off the back to put large storage. You can put full front ends, engines, transmissions, beds, doors, cabs, axles ect. Maybe even a huge 200×50 to put in rusty acres. Store cars out of the weather to keep them from rotting away and parts fot days. I know it's easy to say do this or that considering the cost. But these cars and their parts are becoming harder to come by. As we know Derek will keep bringing vehicles in and saving them aswell as hoarding their good parts. So based on the current and future value of these vehicles and the benefit of keeping them out of the weather it's a good investment. It's no secret Derek has mentioned a nice storage building for rusty acres. I can see 15 to 30 years from now his boys saying yeah we have the last known one of those, a few of the last known ones to these to exist. Oh yeah that original engine and trans, hold on let me look here. Yup this says the ole man has one back in building 3 isle 4 3rd shelf! That's the love of what he's doing and where I'm sure Derek and us all hope to see this go!
So good to see these old revival/drive it home cars getting pulled out the weeds and worked on. Appreciate all the work you put in to keep us entertained.
Ive owned 2 cars in the past with the slant 6 engine, both were just amazingly reliable and have never seen or heard anyone removing a slant 6 before. This was very interesting and entertaining to see, thanks Derek.
I didn't do it myself but I had my brother in law do a slant 6 swap form a 76 valiant to a 73 dart sport. Then I let them use it until the heater core blew up. I can't remember what I did with that car, it sat around in my driveway and then I moved, I practically gave cars away. But that was 30 years ago
The ole, "leaning tower of no power", ran forever, but they were completely gutless and annoying to drive. On any halfway decent Mopar I've ever owned that had a slant-6, the first thing I would do is to remove that long monstrosity of an engine, toss it into the nearest dumpster (so that it could NEVER irritate a human being ever again), and install some variety of small block in the car. I usually opted for a 360, but a few of them received a 318 if I wasn't super attached to the car and the bone yard was out of decent 360's at the moment.. 🤷🏻
@@madmax412323That's an odd one... Usually if the work was done to remove a slant-6, a V-8 was put back in it's place. One didn't need no stinkin' K-frame swap if a guy had a welder around. Today there are swap motor mounts available so that you can use the existing 6 cylinder K-frame and the V-8 will bolt right to it with the swap mounts.
@@davelowets Well good for you, I had to use the car to get me to that job each day to punch a clock so I could pay for rent pay for food pay bills and never had the time or extra money to spend on other power units.
I grew up in the trunk of one of these Dusters. The back window deck was missing and we used to go from the back seat to the trunk.... cool to see a v8 swap. Always wanted to tinker with one of these. Love the show Derek. Keep on keepin' on man. 👍👏
Setting out in the grass, watch those rear shock mounts under the car. I had to have those welded to the underside at least 3 different times on a 74 Plymouth Duster I had years ago. I worked for a radio station once that had a '73 Duster with a V-8 in it and it really moved! I had a slant 6 in mine.
This is a great video! I will put up a video of the interworking's of the engine when we put it together this weekend for anyone interested! Thanks Derrick!
Yes!! Great build with a super cool unique engine. Viper rods?? Wild - can't wait to hear this thing run. Love it! (Take care of yourself and get well Derek)
Very nice job Derek, can I ask you what you do with the vehicles that you restore. I would like to purchase something that I can build with my son. I'm 64 now and have a little time that I can possibly build with him. He has no car, but is 33 and would help me build one last one for him before I leave this planet. I've built a few in my day and enjoyed it. I'm a motor head and will always be. I just want to do one last project with him, so he knows what it is like to do this kind of work. So if you could please let me know if you have anything in your rusty acres that you would part with for a decent rebuild, nothing with frame rot would be nice. I been watching you and family since 2016 and admire your work and how cool you take on these projects. I'm proud of you for doing this, most people would look at it and say wtf did I get myself into. Drive on big guy and know I'm watching these videos.
Watching these videos reminds me so much of my father, he was a master mechanic who worked for a local tucking company rebuilding diesel engines. We had a modest shop at our house and every weekend the line was down the block of local teens wanting him to fix and/or tune their engines. He could listen to the engine running or not running and tell exactly what it needed. He never charged them a dime and was always ready to help them bring the engines back to life. All the little tricks and shortcuts Derek uses are the same ones my father showed me back in the early 1970’s. Together we built a custom ford 351 Windsor that we pulled out of 1973 Mustang Marc1 and dropped it into my first car a 1969 Mercury Cougar and that car was unstoppable.
Remember this Derrick!! You will need to get the A-F and M body oil filter adapter to fit it in there . Because there is not a oil filter short enough to go otherwise. The regular oil filter position runs it right in to the idler arm on the right side.
Carquest brand filter for a 97 dodge ram works too, they are a shorter one to clear headers and steering parts, plus made by Baldwin so not bad filters, had to use one on the 340 in my uncles 69 dart cause the adaptor housing to angle it was leaking no matter what I did to seal it. Also the headers will be a nightmare to install, it's not a body mopar thing, you really have to love these cars to have the patience to work on them.
Thanks for the two in a week, Derek! By the way, I know how much you love your diesel engine oil for flat tappet engines, however…. I use Mobil One high mileage 10w30 in my ‘69 el Camino. It has all the zinc, phosphorus and molybdenum that the old oils had and then some. They actually caution you because your oil pressure increases.
I built a 318, with police interceptor 360 intake, heads and cast factory headers, a 930 rhermoquade and a functional zx-10 cowl induction hood scoop from a Comato hood. . Dropped it in a 1972 Gremlin with273 gears. How fun it was! This guy likes 1 of a kind as well
You are one smart and funny guy ! I had a 72 Duster, I had headers for it that I never used, wish I still had them for ya, but I got stupid and lost everything I owned years back.
This project is awesome! I'm thoroughly enjoying the installation of the new engine, which isn't new. I'm curious to see how part two is gonna be 😊Thank you for sharing! 😊
I like how he’s always throwing batteries around 😂. I’ve never ever bought merch off of a UA-camr. That changed when I started watching this channel. Got a closet with a bunch of VGG swag in it 🤣.
I love your sense of humor. You had me lol a lot. I'm really looking forward to seeing this project done and seeing what it will do. I appreciate all your dedication being sick but still working hard to give us great videos. Thanks!
Been waiting on the ol duster to make a return, I LOVE the originality on the motor idea. I always try to be different with my builds everytime and I love what you did with this! Very excited to see her kickin up some dust soon
I hope you are feeling better, Derek. I really like projects like this. I hate seeing old cars scrapped. I expect you have a plan for the rear axle. Maybe wait until the one in the car is done in! Anyway you go it will be fun to watch. Thank you so very much, for my many hours of enjoyment watching your content!
Hey Derek - loving the channel from over here in the UK - your approach to problem solving is inspirational. If you do build another barn I would love to to see if you could make solar panels work for you, what the economics are, how effective they are etc - I know we’d get the real story from you! Thanks for the content!
@@craigpimlott204 Supposed? You have to use your head. Usually ‘installed’ solar is illogically expensive. But it has its place especially when the ROI is short enough. People are spending stupid money on solar but stupid is as stupid does. On the other hand I’ve been offgrid for nearly five years and it works fine for me. Plus where I live has saved me tens of thousands of dollars and I couldn’t do it without solar.
Live your videos and love how the whole family is involved you are a true inspiration sir thanks for letting us into you passion of working on these treasures.
Derek, you probably know that the 6 cylinder Mopar A-body k-members are considerably weaker than the V8 ones for stiffness/handling/hp purposes...and for fitting/clearing V8 aftermarket oil pans. I thought I'd mention it since you said you were gonna hop the ol' girl up to 485 ponies. Adding a V8 k-member and welding in a set of Mopar Performance subframe connectors to convert the factory flexes-under-torque unibody to a full frame is highly recommended with all A-bodies. In my '71 Duster I also installed a leaf spring relocation kit that moved the springs inboard directly under the frame on the back to fit wider tires and wheels underneath the car with a narrowed 8 3/4 rearend with a 3.91 posi and Moser axles. That A-body strengthening recipe makes for a bulletproof daily driver/burnout chassis that can easily handle 500 horses at the crank all day every day AND handle very decently too given the era of manufacture. A full front/rear suspension rebuild with polyurethane bushings (including on a V8 anti-sway bar) does wonders for an A-body for handling and good burnout control as well. And since I went high hp also, so I installed a poly trans mount too...everything that keeps the engine/trans from rocking much protects those oversized Milodon oil pan corners (we also notch the k-member flats ever so slightly for safe, no-hole clearance). ;)
What has always amazed me about you is NO profanity. How you can be a mechanic and never swear is beyond my comprehension. I was a flat rate mechanic and could never have manage that. You truly are an exceptional human. OR do you edit that out?? I'd have nothing left to show! 😊😊😊
Jessica, Derek, i know you have over 1.5 mil fans & i am pretty much nobody, & my comment prob wont get read or a response which is totally fine & i fuoly understand. Derek is absolutely a very funny, talented, great reviver, racer, burnout champion, i can go on & on, but i wanted to thank you both for everything you guys do. Especially to all the vets & active military. Its great to see someone finally care about them & help them out. Anyhoos, i hope derek feels better from his cold. Nice swap on the duster. Sorry this is so long, just alot to say & compliment yall on haha. Anywhoo's i really hope to meet yall & the kids one day. Its on the bucket list. Thank you Jessica for all your hard work. Last but bot least thank you Derek for being you! Your my inspiration bud.
Another awesome project Derek. Growing up in a Ford family(5.0 Foxbodys, Lightnings, SHO’s, Cobras Ect) i became the “outcast” as I got older for falling into Mopars. Picked up a brand new 00 Dakota R/T Reg Cab sophomore year of HS, been into them ever since. Good on ya for always building different stuff💯
This guy had the Dart Swinger flavor of this Mopar family back in the early 90s same color. $100 with a knock. Replaced the bearing without pulling the engine 😊 but it spun again😢. Loaded a salvage yard Slant in the trunk and swapped it out in the parking lot of my apartment. Love the simplicity of this platform.
I've got a 72 Duster project I'm working on getting back on the road, so I was really excited to see you digging back into this one with a super interesting shadetree hotrod setup.
I have a feeling that this is going to be one of my favorite Car builds yet other than the Independence. Hope to see you get right back on this one fairly quickly I really want to see how this go's. I am betting it's going to be pretty cool. You have a good one and God Bless and I hope you feel better my friend.
Dear Vice Grip, all of the Old Small Block engines, the Mopar 318, The Ford 302, and the Chevy 327, ALL ARE AMAZING LEGENDARY ENGINES! Thanks Vice Grip for building THIS AWESOME ENGINE 🚂, WAY TO GO YOUNG MAN!!! Thanks for the video 📸.
I know I can't do stuff like this, I don't have an auto guy, or an exhaust guy, or an engine guy, I've got this guy typing and that's it! Some day I hope to have a tiny workshop that can fit one car. One quarter the tools Derek has would be amazing too.
@@philtwowheels Unless a guy has DEEP POCKETS and can afford to pay someone else there's only one way to get 'er dun Phil,, roll yer sleeves up and dig in. Every time you lift the hood with a bunch a wrenches nearby you'll learn something new. UA-cam is a huge help but a feller ain't gonna learn til he gets his hands dirty and has to clean grease from under those fingernails. Be sure to keep SAFETY in your mind as you go,, always use jack stands if you need to go under the car, perhaps disconnect the battery if you're mess'n with wiring.
My favorite channel. When ever I have a project that is a bit much, I watch a couple of Dereks videos for motivation. They get my head right for wrench turning
Man o man......did you just bring back a hatfull o memories. I had a 73 Duster back in the early 80's and had no complaints except for the torsion bar front suspension. I hit a pothole with the front right wheel and cracked it good. I thought l would just replace the broken part but nooooooo because it was all one assembly. So had to replace the entire torsion bar suspension. Bummer! But one day it just wouldn't turn over. So, upon inspection l discovered that the rotor gear in the distributer was the problem. The metal tab was worn right down to the plastic. So a blade from a trac 2 razor and a little crazy glue had me back rippin up the road again. No lie, even had witnesses. And really loved those rubber pads on the bumpers. Memories, eh. Cars today are just meant to drain bank accounts. Love your channel, reminds me of me.....way back then. Thanks for the memories.
Derek, you amaze regarding how much you accomplish by yourself and your motivation,. It is apparent that you have a passion for what you do and you do it so well; all parts of rebuilding, driving, and editing. I too have many projects and take great satisfaction in completing them; however, some are never ending.
Hey Derek, I give you a lot of credit, to keep on working with the way your feeling, I just came down with a cold also & I'm just testing & recuperating this weekend! Your are a great inspiration to me, keep up the the good work!
Yea it's crazy to think he has to get out if bed once a week to film a lousey video on something that benefits him...inspirational r the ones that go to job never miss a day sick as sht
For me as a mopar and chevy lover this engine is just awesome 😊 I love the stance of this duster, mine looks similar, but I like this wheel and tire combo even more especially the rear tires!
I had a 74 Duster I wish I had did an engine swap with my 73 Charger. The Charger was rusting away pretty badly but the 318 engine never gave up. Blew two slant 6s in that Duster and deserved better.
Sure do miss this car but I’m glad to see she’s getting a new life!
Well dude you are a Mopar master I was surprised you did sell this car you do some really good videos to by the way
As soon as I seen it I knew it was your old one
Looking forward to the Diplomat being done man!
So that is Dylan's Duster , I wondered what happened to it, in fact I was just asking about it in another comment.

Oh man I'm kinda jealous you get to discover Derek's work this far into the channel, I remember rewatching the videos in his original driveway/garage
Welcome to the family :)
I absolutely love how much harder you work for our entertainment benefit. You're a great man.
Thank you
Wow! Two VGG videos in one week!? Love the videos Derek, please don't ever stop doing what you do. Been here since the early days and I'm one of the channels biggest fans! Congrats on taking 1st in the burnout competition. Much deserved!
Respect to guys at Vice grip garage and Restored guys, I like watching their shows.
Derek you need the help of some of our trusted you tube fellas to come level rusty acres and put down at least some packed road base to put all those cars on
I struggle to watch a tv show when sick, this guy does engine swaps. Your a legend Derek 💯✊️✊️✊️
Not gonna lie, still hoping to see someone work with these slant 6s with some modern upgrades and remain in the car. Sure it's less easy, but that's sort of the point.
Always loved these 70's Duster/Dart bodies.
It’s great to see you working on the rigs that you already have, keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do!
I don't know how you do all you do, but major respect! You're single handedly motivating the rest of us!
He inspired me to do what I do again and build my channel up. He has no idea what he has done in our community ❤
Same story, found through Cleeter and went back to the beginning. Definitely worth it and cool seeing the channel evolve over the years.
Why was the exhaust hard?
Without having to fight with headers, that should have been a breeze... 🤷🏻
Wow! Nice work sir. I’d have been happy with a perfectly functioning slant-six but now you’ve gone to another level.
I struggle to watch a tv show when sick, this guy does engine swaps. keep up the great work!
Holy Moly, 2 videos in the same week, freaking awesome!
That is going to be a runner.
Great video as always 👌 👍 👏
Hope you're feeling better soon Del Boy, can't wait to hear this wee beastie running.
So what happened to the cornet from road worthy rescues? Man that car was slick. This engine sounded amazing in that car!
From leaning tower of no power to weird mutt of spare parts power! Awesome start so far! Here’s to seeing it running and moving that car!
Amen to that!
Being old and under cars hurts more now. Keep going.
318 strokes out to 390 😱
Mopar or no car!
@@brianf8621 Only if you use a 4" crank. Derek is using a 3.58" crank, same as a 360, but with 318/340 mains.
This is the bob ross of motor sports haha thanks for what you do. You encouraged me to get my 71’ c10 up and running again!
Keep up the great work Derik!
We like the revivals, but the hot rodding on a realistic budget keeps things in reality for the average guy.
I've been around since the beginning,
Thank you for staying you!
My dad had a d100 with the slant 6, but it was worn out, so he through a 360 in it
The ole, "leaning tower of no power", ran forever, but they were completely gutless and annoying to drive.
Awesome Video. Great Little truck. Can be made into a nice Shiny little rig. Polished Wood bed, All Black body with red stripes on the wheel.
That engine is the definition of experimental and I Love IT!
Derek, can't wait for the next episode of this Duster project. Keep up the fantastic work! God Bless VGG!!!
These videos just keep gettin' better! Thank you Derek.
This guy likes 1 of a kind as well
Glad to see the Dustpan get some love. I was hoping for a 4speed manual but it is still one of my favorite cars you have rescued.
I love the zero fooks given aproch to your engine removals Derek no messing just keep yanking till she comes flying out.
You are one smart and funny guy ! I had a 72 Duster, I had headers for it that I never used, wish I still had them for ya, but I got stupid and lost everything I owned years back.
This project is awesome! I'm thoroughly enjoying the installation of the new engine, which isn't new. I'm curious to see how part two is gonna be
😊Thank you for sharing! 😊
I like how he’s always throwing batteries around 😂. I’ve never ever bought merch off of a UA-camr. That changed when I started watching this channel. Got a closet with a bunch of VGG swag in it 🤣.
'In theory it's not gonna work.." Oh I am stealing that one.
I love your sense of humor. You had me lol a lot. I'm really looking forward to seeing this project done and seeing what it will do. I appreciate all your dedication being sick but still working hard to give us great videos. Thanks!
He's gotta feed that UA-cam algorithm, but yeah, he has a great work ethic.
Been waiting on the ol duster to make a return, I LOVE the originality on the motor idea. I always try to be different with my builds everytime and I love what you did with this! Very excited to see her kickin up some dust soon
I see ole Betty sittin back there. I've been following you since that revival. Keep it up VGG!
Yep. Not the supposed truth of how good they are ..
Tasty Classics!!! Pour me a pint mate!!!
@@craigpimlott204
Supposed?
You have to use your head. Usually ‘installed’ solar is illogically expensive. But it has its place especially when the ROI is short enough.
People are spending stupid money on solar but stupid is as stupid does. On the other hand I’ve been offgrid for nearly five years and it works fine for me. Plus where I live has saved me tens of thousands of dollars and I couldn’t do it without solar.
Have fun getting headers in with the engine bolted in place! Been there done that!
Live your videos and love how the whole family is involved you are a true inspiration sir thanks for letting us into you passion of working on these treasures.
I hope you get to feeling better. I really enjoyed this episode. Thank you making this even though you don’t feel well.
Great video! Nice shop! Derek shows what he thinking, and executes with humour. Thanks buddy for posting from rainy Vancouver Island.
And since I went high hp also, so I installed a poly trans mount too...everything that keeps the engine/trans from rocking much protects those oversized Milodon oil pan corners (we also notch the k-member flats ever so slightly for safe, no-hole clearance). ;)
I run the /6 k member in my post car, even the /6 torsion bars and it’s ideal for straight line drag racing
Love watching these builds, Derek is always coming up with totally different and unique builds.. Love this channel.
What has always amazed me about you is NO profanity. How you can be a mechanic and never swear is beyond my comprehension. I was a flat rate mechanic and could never have manage that. You truly are an exceptional human. OR do you edit that out?? I'd have nothing left to show! 😊😊😊
What a awesome weekend two vice grips, hope you get better Derick
Great episode and project. What a wild motor. Rear gearing? Low, really low? Fun times, can't wait to hear it run.
Im glad its back. One of my very favs yall have in the fleet. Thnx for all the laughs, all the hard work yall do & put in. The best youtube channel out there i think. Im a huge fan. Been for yrs. I watch yall everyday for hrs & hrs. Ive watched same video over 13.567.0 times & never get sick of it. I love my merch. Get tons of compliments & ran into other fans.
When Derek says “story for another day”, I genuinely believe he’s going to make a 90 minute video dedicated to that story.
He ain't gone back on his word, yet....
Except for the... cough, cough...
the ford
So far so good, love the unique engine build.
That's part of what makes your channel great.
Derek gets more projects done than I can dream of
I'm still trying to find time to get my ranger ready for danger ranger
Easy when its a guy's full time job
Derek gets this work done because it’s his living. He would be amazed at how much work you get done each week too. I’m sure of it.
My favorite channel. When ever I have a project that is a bit much, I watch a couple of Dereks videos for motivation. They get my head right for wrench turning
Been craving building a Duster myself the past year. Just too broke. I’m super excited to see where Derek goes with this one!
Very interesting conversion! Fun to watch, looking forward to the next chapter! Thanks for the entertainment!
I actually like those old gear reduction starters.
On a muscle Mopar, they giggle before the thunder!
Derek, you amaze regarding how much you accomplish by yourself and your motivation,. It is apparent that you have a passion for what you do and you do it so well; all parts of rebuilding, driving, and editing. I too have many projects and take great satisfaction in completing them; however, some are never ending.
That Plymouth, Duster would look good in wide Centerline wheels in the back, regular Centerline wheels in the front.
Hey Derek,
I give you a lot of credit, to keep on working with the way your feeling, I just came down with a cold also & I'm just testing & recuperating this weekend!
Your are a great inspiration to me, keep up the the good work!
Yea it's crazy to think he has to get out if bed once a week to film a lousey video on something that benefits him...inspirational r the ones that go to job never miss a day sick as sht
Can't wait to see this beast lighting up the back tires!!!! Great job!!
Excited to see this build. My first car was a 70 Duster, slant 6, 3 speed on the floor.
For me as a mopar and chevy lover this engine is just awesome 😊 I love the stance of this duster, mine looks similar, but I like this wheel and tire combo even more especially the rear tires!
😂😅😊
This is the exact type of videos that I love. I hope to see many more like this in the future. 😊
I had a 74 Duster I wish I had did an engine swap with my 73 Charger. The Charger was rusting away pretty badly but the 318 engine never gave up. Blew two slant 6s in that Duster and deserved better.
Always a great weekend with a VGG long video!
