After building the bat-cave with all the gadgets, Bruce wakes up and finds out that his parents killer has been captured by a vigilante called the Batman. Without the drive for vengeance, Bruce takes over his parents business and lives a normal life with Alfred at his side... not knowing that his butler was fighting crime as the Batman at night.

Judging by the overreactions, I think everybody in this thread doesn't quite understand how channels like these work. WhatCulture is a network of multiple channels (not just this channel about comics) and they employ lots of different members of staff, hence why there's different hosts talking depending on what list/video you click on. It's much more likely that Rich is just asked to step in for the occasional video when a regular writer/host is unavailable to meet management's expectation of an upload schedule - he's not just a random bloke who decided to "own a channel about comics"...

And Russian Batman from Superman: Red Son is also an alternate timeline version, same earth (except for the spoiler at the end.), but a what-if, if Superman landed in the USSR instead of the USA.

There was a medieval looking Bat-Man who had all kinds of funky looking armor, including things, wings really, protruding from either side of his head/helmut that looked like bat wings. It was all a part of the armor. I have no idea which alternate Earth this character was in.
I'd like a remake of the Superman-Batman story. I think it'd pretty cool if Bruce's origin story remained intact and he still went through all that training to become Batman and just then when he started being a vigilant he developed Superman's powers and found out he's a kriptonian. Have he fight Lex Luthor(and the rest of Superman's villains) and The Joker(and the rest of Batman's villains) without mashing the two into the same character, keeping the "Bruce Wayne is Kar-El" as the only modification in the storyline and it'd be pretty great.

when i was a young kid my neighbor showed me a picture of Dark Claw and i love that i got to see the image again, much more fun as a passing wow cool then a story id follow though hahaa, great video, batman is the coolest.
I have to say, I think its a fascinating concept that batman's parents are so extremely dead, that there aren't even many alternate universes where they're alive. I mean, its kinda like if you said, "X is as dead as Bruce Wayne's parents", you're actually saying that the death of X is a cosmic constant spanning most universes.
To be fair, "Dark Claw" was meant as satire -- I forget the details, but I remember it was a limited-run series called "Amalgam" where they mashed together most of the Marvel big names with their DC more-or-less counterparts, the framework being that the Marvel and DC universes had been merged together in some cosmic accident.

I really thought the Batman who Laughs would be on here. Actually I think Dawnbreaker Batman is a better spin on if Bruce got a green Lantern than the classic one, Dark Nights Metal in general has given us some amazing alternate versions truly shocked none made an appearance.
I think what DC should do, in terms of films, to distinguish it from Marvel is to make a MULTIVERSE rather than an EXTENDED Universe. Then you can have multiple versions of characters released simultaneously because they exist in different universes. This could lead to, in the future, DC's own "Infinity War" epic crossover film like "Crisis on Infinite Planets" where characters from different universes come into contact and/or trade places. Maybe two or three versions of Batman come face to face. Maybe the Superman we know and love encounters or trades places with the Soviet Union Superman from The Red Son series where, in an alternate universe, Baby Kal-El arrives in the Soviet Union instead of Kansas. Think of all the possibilities, it would be awesome and different from Marvel!
The evil Green Lantern Batman from the Metal event is the sort of absurdity that i just can't help but love. Young Bruce Wayne gets a lantern ring shortly after his parents are shot and, through sheer willpower, overrides the ring's no-kill rule and uses it to unleash darkness and pretty much tears up anyone who gets too close.

FYI: Iron Man, Black Panther, and Moon Knight are not ripoffs of Batman. If you think so, you're stupid. There's a difference between "ripoff" and "inspired". Tony Stark is smarter, has more advanced tech, and is a lot more charismatic. Black Panther is the genius king of an isolated futuristic African nation and has hosted the Panther goddess, Bast. And Moon Knight is the avatar of the Egyptian moon god of vengeance and madness, suffers from multiple-personality disorder, and isn't nearly as smart or as rich as Bats.
One of the things lists like this always make me want to see is someone compiling a list of: 'A million ways other characters kill Batman.' because there are a lot of examples and Batman as a whole is super over done.

If I recall the Batman/Green Lantern comic correctly, Guardians thought Bruce/Green Lantern was doing a good job cleaning up crime on Earth. They wanted him to patrol the galaxy/universe. But he refused. So they recruited other heroes (JLA) to show they could handle the job (he didn't have to stay on Earth). Then they manipulated Luthor/Sinestro to kill Gordon and Alfred (his only friends/connections to Earth) and fled to outer space. JLA wanted Bruce to train them, but he said they'd have to learn on their own. He was going after Luthor/Sinestro wherever they were. Guardians got what they wanted, Bruce Wayne patrolling the universe/hunting for Luthor/Sinestro.
The metal versions of Batman. (Dawn Breaker, Red Death, The Batman that Laughs etc.) They are all pretty cool ideas but making them any more than one-shot characters for the metal comic would be overkill. (They all literaly slaughter every other character of their own universe so basicly DeadPool kills the marvel universe except several times over so there is alot of BS.)

I haven't read the comic, but I just found out that they did a 'what if' Damion Wayne Batman, he looked pretty cool on the vid I was watching. Even more conflicted than Bruce. Also, the versions of Bruce's Batman when he's returning through time after Crisis. Could we have Dick Grayson's Batman, and Azriel too?
There was also a story called "Citizen Wayne" done in an Annual and under the "elseworlds" mythology. In that story an insane Harvey Dent takes on the mantle of Batman and goes on a savage anti-crime spree. When his methods are deemed unacceptable by society his friend Bruce Wayne dons a Samurai costume (apparently he is a collector and proficient in the use of ancient weapons) and endeavors to stop Batman. In the end they kill each other.

I think it would have been nice if you'd mentioned that Owlman (Thomas Wayne Jr.) had Alfred kill his parents as he believed that they were manging their wealth poorly and he murdered his younger brother Bruce as he was hesistant when the time for murder arose which he perceived as a sing of weakness.

I think it'd pretty cool if Bruce's origin story remained intact and he still went through all that training to become Batman and just then when he started being a vigilant he developed Superman's powers and found out he's a kriptonian.
Have he fight Lex Luthor(and the rest of Superman's villains) and The Joker(and the rest of Batman's villains) without mashing the two into the same character, keeping the "Bruce Wayne is Kar-El" as the only modification in the storyline and it'd be pretty great.

I have to say, I think its a fascinating concept that batman's parents are so extremely dead, that there aren't even many alternate universes where they're alive.

To be fair, "Dark Claw" was meant as satire -- I forget the details, but I remember it was a limited-run series called "Amalgam" where they mashed together most of the Marvel big names with their DC more-or-less counterparts, the framework being that the Marvel and DC universes had been merged together in some cosmic accident.

I really thought the Batman who Laughs would be on here. Actually I think Dawnbreaker Batman is a better spin on if Bruce got a green Lantern than the classic one, Dark Nights Metal in general has given us some amazing alternate versions truly shocked none made an appearance.
I think what DC should do, in terms of films, to distinguish it from Marvel is to make a MULTIVERSE rather than an EXTENDED Universe. Then you can have multiple versions of characters released simultaneously because they exist in different universes. This could lead to, in the future, DC's own "Infinity War" epic crossover film like "Crisis on Infinite Planets" where characters from different universes come into contact and/or trade places. Maybe two or three versions of Batman come face to face. Maybe the Superman we know and love encounters or trades places with the Soviet Union Superman from The Red Son series where, in an alternate universe, Baby Kal-El arrives in the Soviet Union instead of Kansas. Think of all the possibilities, it would be awesome and different from Marvel!

The evil Green Lantern Batman from the Metal event is the sort of absurdity that i just can't help but love. Young Bruce Wayne gets a lantern ring shortly after his parents are shot and, through sheer willpower, overrides the ring's no-kill rule and uses it to unleash darkness and pretty much tears up anyone who gets too close.

FYI: Iron Man, Black Panther, and Moon Knight are not ripoffs of Batman. If you think so, you're stupid. There's a difference between "ripoff" and "inspired". Tony Stark is smarter, has more advanced tech, and is a lot more charismatic. Black Panther is the genius king of an isolated futuristic African nation and has hosted the Panther goddess, Bast. And Moon Knight is the avatar of the Egyptian moon god of vengeance and madness, suffers from multiple-personality disorder, and isn't nearly as smart or as rich as Bats.

One of the things lists like this always make me want to see is someone compiling a list of: 'A million ways other characters kill Batman.' because there are a lot of examples and Batman as a whole is super over done.

If I recall the Batman/Green Lantern comic correctly, Guardians thought Bruce/Green Lantern was doing a good job cleaning up crime on Earth. They wanted him to patrol the galaxy/universe. But he refused. So they recruited other heroes (JLA) to show they could handle the job (he didn't have to stay on Earth). Then they manipulated Luthor/Sinestro to kill Gordon and Alfred (his only friends/connections to Earth) and fled to outer space. JLA wanted Bruce to train them, but he said they'd have to learn on their own. He was going after Luthor/Sinestro wherever they were. Guardians got what they wanted, Bruce Wayne patrolling the universe/hunting for Luthor/Sinestro.

(Dawn Breaker, Red Death, The Batman that Laughs etc.) They are all pretty cool ideas but making them any more than one-shot characters for the metal comic would be overkill. (They all literaly slaughter every other character of their own universe so basicly DeadPool kills the marvel universe except several times over so there is alot of BS.)

There was also a story called "Citizen Wayne" done in an Annual and under the "elseworlds" mythology. In that story an insane Harvey Dent takes on the mantle of Batman and goes on a savage anti-crime spree. When his methods are deemed unacceptable by society his friend Bruce Wayne dons a Samurai costume (apparently he is a collector and proficient in the use of ancient weapons) and endeavors to stop Batman. In the end they kill each other.

I think it would have been nice if you'd mentioned that Owlman (Thomas Wayne Jr.) had Alfred kill his parents as he believed that they were manging their wealth poorly and he murdered his younger brother Bruce as he was hesistant when the time for murder arose which he perceived as a sing of weakness.
