Last reupload I promise! 😅 Accidentally hit publish on Saturday and I didn’t want the upload date to be messed up. Also there were some issues with it not showing up in sub boxes because of that.
1. Back them into a corner 2. Be safe on shield 3. React and take mental notes 4. Know how to beat your opponent's favourite oos option and beat it 5. Learn the opponents timing for getting oos 6. Remember the option you punished last time
CAG _ I wouldn't say that, necessarily. I would say that if your main has an echo, you should almost certainly second that echo. Since you don't have to relearn all of the moves and frame data, with them being slightly different enough to have an advantage in some matchups/stages.
@@pokeohtcg my main is Roy and my secondary is Marth... It used to be Marth with a bunch of others that I messed around with. Roy is great with getting in close and personal, punishing, and getting KOs quick, but if somebody is good at spacing and I need to stay away from them and reach a bit more, Marth is a lot better, and floats, whereas Roy is a two-ton boulder. Piranha plant gets Marth.
Thanks man, this really helped a lot. I play Mario who has basically no range, so I really appreciated the tips in this vid. Keep up the great work! (Let's go BananaBoy!)
No lie this is one of the best videos you've made. Helped me a ton in bracket. Could you please make some neutral and adapting videos? And maybe cover how to analyze your sets as well?
I wanna just say your videos have been super helpful to me and thank you! The way you explain every detail makes things simple tonunderstand and it doesn't feel overwhelming. I appreciate it!
Yoo! This shit was actually the helpful vid ever, you the man! Officially my favorite smash UA-camr. Thanks my dude! Also the ledge trapping one was helpful too
Hey guys, if you're trying to figure out if a move is safe or not, you can use ultimate frame data.com. as long as your move isn't more negative on shield then your opponent's out of shield option's starting frames, then you'll know it's safe and you can shield to avoid getting hit by it. Ah, though this doesn't necessarily apply to spacing moves like Ike's side tilt, which has enough range and shield stun to outright keep your opponent from being within range of you. So you know... Take a look at the hitbox of a move first before dismissing it as "unsafe".
The harder your press the button, the more damage you do! (Fun fact: the original Street Fighter arcade cabinet played with this idea. The game had one giant button for punch and another one for kick. Light, medium, and heavy attacks were performed by tapping the button lightly, pressing it normally, and whacking it as hard as you can. For reasons that should be obvious to everyone except the arcade cabinet designers at that exact moment, this went out of fashion very fast as many, many Street Fighter arcade cabinets were broken beyond repair.)
just jump and instant directional air-dodge anyways. It works even better for escaping pressure when you do it half-way through a full-hop, it's just so unbelievably hard to understand.
The thing I love about your comments is that whenever you struggle to find something original you comment something that could literally be appropriate in _any_ video
Just moving around the shield and not hitting the shield for shield pressure is such a lost art. But when done it's so beautiful. Mang0, Hax and Lucky are amazing at doing this (any mang0 vs wizzy set is a perfect example of this) NINTENDO LET US RUN THROUGH PEOPLE REEEE
Hey bananaboy. Love your content. Fellow yoshi main here in ultimate. Can you make a video on kill setups for yoshi? Specifically his forward air... i feel like its a great aerial but is a less reliable spike option than other heroes... i feel like spiking off stage is harder than heroes like falco or c.falcon.
What I dislike is that sometimes a strong move will push the character holding shield away from whoever is attacking. As opposed to doing serious damage
If someone makes their opponent offstage and then they go to the edge of the stage and hits them when the opponent is trying to go onstage, consider edge guarding?
Short hop retreating forward air. Try crossing up the opponents shield with the neutral air or down air. Use his neutral special a lot to close the gap and control the stage. Watch ESAM's pickachu if you want to know more, he's one of the best.
Do a guide on how to play Smash Ultimate casually, like with a sideways joycon, the tablet screen, left stick jump on, items, stage hazards, different custom rulesets, the works.

ok mate
I'll watch it every time you reupload🤣
Is this the 3rd reupload?
Luigi Burns Salas yea

me: lets be creative with my options
*fails once*
my brain: lets agree to never be creative again
Me: (parries when shield pressured)
My opponent: *This is beyond science*
Can you do a follow up on your "choosing a main" video with a "how to pick a secondary" character? Or a video on counter picking stages.
I just picked the character I like the second most. Clones don't count.
Yes yes yes this sounds super helpful.
MulletEagle
Choose a character that has a completely different play style that your go to otherwise there’s no point in having a secondary

Lmao no range? play pichu
@@Noahtheorigianl Haha yeah, why does a mouse have more range than me??
Zathanex Seven pichu range is prty bad, mario got back air and his nair good. Down air has a lot of priority

You fulfilled the promise of a stage control guide! Finally!

He said this should be the last one.
It's a good day when BananaBoy uploads.

This is a fantastic channel for learning and relearning fundamentals. Thank you for this video and this channel!
Man I never thought about all the mentality. This is why I love Smash
Man this Mario Kart DS Rainbow Road music... You made me nostalgic af
I've watched all of your vids. They were very helpful. Thanks!
Is this a reupload I remember seeing this video but when I went to the channel is wasnt there
This dude is a genius, he named player 1 SHIELD and player 2 PRESSURE
I thought this was going to be about how hard to press the shield button…🤣
Origin Gaming lol

T-T-T-TRIPLE UPLOAD!
Im a simple man. I see a Jimmy T outro and I subscribe.
Wavedash would be so useful in some situations, like when your opponent is waiting for a jump.
It's sad that that's not an option 'cause it sucks

1:50 whqts that from again and the zelda krool joke was good
This is kinda epic, not gonna lie.

Amazing video dude, I really love your channel!
Shield enters the chat
Pressure joins the chat
Shield-oh god
Shield left the chat
But what if they don’t even shield...
I just subscribed! Keep up the grind on your channel! You will hit 100k soon!
Basically be psychic and mind read every opponent.
This actually help me a lot
How many re-uploads has it been?
You probably got a bunch of videos lined up, but I was wondering if you could do some on passive and aggressive play styles.
Let's go Banana Boy! Good job on getting picked up by Armada!

My mans just called them heroes
What's the best option for Lucas to presume shields, is it Nair of uair
Can you make a video on playing neutral?
Good shit
Can you do a vid on counter picking stages? At my locals after I ban people pick a stage I didn’t think of and I need help...
MOM, GOD UPLOADED AGAIN
Is there like a list or something that I can check to see what moves are safe on block?
Fantastic guide
What I dislike is that sometimes a strong move will push the character holding shield away from whoever is attacking. As opposed to doing serious damage
i love you banana boy
Are most yoshi aerials safe on shield if you just space them right?
How to do shield pressure with jigglypuff
Pound
Wow you did it!
Wow I'm so proud of you! Good job Jigglypuff!
What's safe on shield for yoshi?
Hey BananaBoy, do you happen to have a discord?
Yeah k rool is definitely an 11/10, Chris hemsworth he’s only a 10/10
5:45 My friend once punished 3 different ledge getup options back to back. Like what am I supposed to do 😭
Just keep picking different options until they don't punish I suppose. Maybe even try the same option twice in a row so they don't expect it.
Could I get a link to the character Discords?
smashcords.com
So if I want to pressure someone's shield, should I just quit the match, change to Fox, and call Palm Tiger?
I feel like I've seen this a couple of times now😂
1:53 I think you messed them up. King k rool is the most arosing thing out there definitely a 101/10
Yo whats safe on shield for Yoshi?
Hah! Us Robin mains just need to pop an arcfire on a shield and it's done.
Reupload?
The names say “SHIELD” and “PRESSURE”
It’s a neat yoshi egg (easter egg)
where do i go on discord or how do i go about to find the charecter's discords as shown in the video?
Just google smash bros ultimate character discord and there should be a list of characters and region discord
If someone makes their opponent offstage and then they go to the edge of the stage and hits them when the opponent is trying to go onstage, consider edge guarding?
That's called Ledgetrapping, but it's close enough. Edgeguarding is typically better because they're offstage and closer to the Blastzone.
Hey, your the yoshi guy. You gonna play crafted world?
Can you please make a more advance tutorial for yoshi
Your deserve more subs.
Now shields are buffed. Is this video still viable?
But what happened the first time it was uploaded
Why does no video talk about shield stun?
Which moves should I use with Pikachu to do shield pressure?
Short hop retreating forward air. Try crossing up the opponents shield with the neutral air or down air. Use his neutral special a lot to close the gap and control the stage. Watch ESAM's pickachu if you want to know more, he's one of the best.
1:55 the subtle blackpill
I'm sure you're allowed to say Stay Beefy!
I thought BannaBoy uploaded a new one..
Wait, you can shield?
And grab?
Still waiting for that stage control video....
When the video gets demonitized:
No ones going to mention how the character tags spell shield pressure.
Ok
I just don't shield in general
BananaBoySSB discord when?
Buffering Lucina f-air is not safe on shield and is used as an anti air
Why is the person called ‘shield’ in the examples doing the pressuring, and the one called ‘pressure’ shielding...
...this is not ok
Do a guide on how to play Smash Ultimate casually, like with a sideways joycon, the tablet screen, left stick jump on, items, stage hazards, different custom rulesets, the works.
Left stick jump on =/= casual, anybody can do it and it's fine
I knew a peach always presure my shield with jab and them dair I did not punish until last stock she at 80% and just up smash
Yay, a new video!
Oh wait
Thump up for your this video
Lmao I knew I watched this in the morning
I also couldn't find it in my history
oh baby a triple (upload)
What happened before?
Discord server pls
*This gonna get deleted?*
So if I never shield, I can never get shield pressured...
Congrats on getting to grand finals
I just want short hop button
Anyone else here before he took it down?
Hi guys...
I'm new, but isn't it just easier and better to grab through their shield?
Shield isnt that rewarding for many characters and often slower.
Does always beat shield though but has highish startup a lot of the time
