- Camping is something that sends shivers down people's spines whenever it's brought up. However, there are a few key mistakes that people make when dealing with or attempting the strategy. Click play to learn a thing or two about this degenerate strategy.

As a ganondorf main, playing against campers can either be good or bad
As a DK Main, camping is usually good for the DK.

As a Ganon/DK/Bowser main, nothing more satisfying than stomping someone’s skull in, head butting them into oblivion, and drop kicking through their puny tilts.
The only time camping frustrates me is if that's all the opponent does, because yes. I can deal with it, but holy crap does it make my win slow. But if it's part of a broader strategy, I actually kinda love it. It's like a puzzle to be solved.

I hate fighting campers too but if that’s just what their character does best then it doesn’t mean they’re worse for being optimal that’s just how you do it
Being a casual player who plays slow ass characters like Ganondorf, getting camped pisses the ever loving hell out of me because I'm not in it to win; I just want to have fun. And while camping is an optimal strategy, knowing this information makes it no less annoying to be forced to deal with. Maybe I should just switch to Wolf and wait for them to approach while I sit back, relax and Down B.
I didn't mean campers were noobs, I meant if you were bad at the game and needed a good strategy then camping would work for you. sorry if there was a miscommunication
fatcat fair enough. camping is an easier strategy than aggression so I understand where you’re coming from, just wanted to make sure you weren’t downplaying someone like Dabuz lol. he uses characters everyone hates and plays pretty campy but he is actually good at the game even if he plays lame
THANK GOD!! My country has 2 Belmonts, a Ness, a Lucas, a Toon Link, a Dedede and a Yoshi that secondaries Villager and Isabelle, all in top 10. You have no idea how useful this is.

This just made me remember a match where I was in the lead and the Wolf player kept using neutral b. Since I was playing Toon Link, I just stood there
My favorite camp/edge guard method is specifically playing as Roy vs. Greninja when Greninja gets knocked off the stage and I can just keep neutral B-ing at the edge to keep knocking him back to build up his percentage so I can spike him. My friend who mains Greninja told me he has something in his kit to get out of that, but of course he won't tell me what it is😂

The most frustration I've had are with camping Villagers that go to the end of the ledge, plant a tree, throw a rocket, and wait for you. I play Mario so I would usually just reflect that but even so I get cheesed and go from 0-43%

Also one time I played against that salty player and we both banned our neutral b's because we both camped each other out.
You should make a video on how to deal with aggressive players, mashing and how to get around disjoints.
Oh c'mon guys, the most simple way of countering camping is being mii gunner with the reflector.
Trust me, it works 100% of the time until they know your moveset.
I've even had some pretty good kills by shooting a single ball with the opponent reflecting it, only to be reflected back by mii (or so on till one refelctor breaks).
Pun intended for that last part.

Recently I've been messing around with Robin to get a campers perspective while not completely shutting my brain off (due to the whole limited uses gimmick) and I think I've found the reason
I think its because while camping you're a lot more relaxed and aren't constantly in someone's face allowing you to make much more thoughtful predictions on what the opponent is going to do because when playing Roy I rarely make reads on the opponent since I'm to caught up on winning neutral I don't think of what I'm going to do after or remember what my opponents habits are
Or maybe some people are sadists and like knowing that their opponent isn't having fun
Or they just like winning and seeing a number go up no matter how they got it
TL,DR Some people like feeling smart by more consistently making reads and some people are the scum of the earth

I mained Marth for the entirety of smash 4 and I main Link in this game and I’ll say it’s mostly just for the reads
if I’m far away and pressuring someone then I can force them to come to me and I can predict how they will approach and can counter that. I can sit back and be chill while thinking about what they might do and can react to it
It kind of gives me a counter advantage where the opponent has to make the first move and once they do I can counter it and the only way they can win is if they counter my projectiles and then also counter my approach counter. It just lets me do some funny mindgames and let an Fsmash rip when they aren’t ready
Honestly, I wish some of this stuff worked for me. I played online against a campy Duck Hunt player quite a while ago. It infuriated me so much. All that douche did was spam that blasted barrel and his down smash, obliterating me without even trying. and the most enraging part? He always went to the same exact place on the stage after a stock and just sat there. I never came across anything more rage inducing than a dog with a bird that mocks you. I just wanted to nueter that blasted puppy with my bare hands, see how he likes it.

Hey can you explain how to play aggressive like you see in tournaments, the reason I ask is because when I see people play in tournaments both players seem to always go for something and you never really see a stand still. Also when I played a really good player he smothered me to the point I couldn't do anything, I want to be able to do that and be able to push back against them
I would suggest to maybe attempt to go for more defensive options, potentially use some camping techniques
If they're snuffing you out, you're being too predictable, and maybe need to mix some options up.
As a Yoshi main I approve.😀
The only campy characters I like are the ones that have items you can snag >:) Like Grenades and fruit.

I hope you are getting better. Yoshi is a great main choice. He is kind of awkward to learn for most people but it will definitely pay off.

I need to know how to deal with heavies, this is my biggest weakness. I can take about a third of my wins against Ganon and D3 but that is still disadvantage and a lot of my local players play rhese two characters. Bowser is easier but still a problem, especially if they get a lead
Super Growlithe Odyssey Unpredictability is most applicable to fighting heavies compared to other characters. The way I see it, a heavy is mostly designed to punish mistakes with strong moves while a lighter character punishes mistakes with combos. You need to punish them back with grabs/throws and combos when they miss. Luckily heavies are slow and you can use speed to your advantage. They’re also big targets for you to hit. Ngl though, fighting Ganon makes me anxious because a single strong hit at 50% can take my stock. Practice more against heavies on your own so you better understand the matchup, work on stringing moves together to rack up damage, tech landings, all that. Don’t let them intimidate you also haha. You can do this!
Maybe try learning how to play a heavy? Could give you insight into how those types of players have to maneuver to keep up with Lucina/Pikachu/Joker as they just run around the stage like headless chickens (no offense).
Just don’t let them paly the game. Most of their disadvantages suck so jsut don’t let them breathe
