Thank you for explaining how to price apples. You are absolutely right when you say don’t cut prices. I refuse to downplay my hard work for anybody ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You are so welcome! Yes, it's absolutely an extensive amount of labor and time involved. I wanted to open up the eyes of treat makers to make sure you all are not undercharging.
Thank you for making this video I want to do a side job and thought about candy apples I think 8 to 9 dollars an apple if a good price you have to make profit plus you have to invest back to the business. Love your video you keep hustling girl 😁
How do you keep your apples from not being so sticky I put them in the fridge raider I think that was one reason they are sticky but can you help me with my question
When you put them in the refrigerator you need to make sure you leave your candy apple bags opened until the event and then tie them up on that day. Here's also a way to keep them not sticky in these tutorials here - ua-cam.com/video/QqNr5ZILwug/v-deo.htmlsi=Hkj5W0Zfh6By9yft ua-cam.com/video/r-_Z8LKYVs4/v-deo.htmlsi=uubVpwgX5WMIqe29 I hope this helps you.💕
Just to say , I follow you all the time, my question is , are there straws that’s the same length of the Candy Apple sticks, my straws are much longer and I have to cut them. I am new at this and don’t know what size to use
Thank you so much.💕This is normal. It’s so normal that I don’t even think about it or take the time out to cut mine. You can try googling to see if there’s a company out there who sells shorter straws the length of your sticks. I hope this helps you.
Here's the link: amzn.to/4dqMcHs I use 5x11 cellophane treat bags. They also sell those sizes in Hobby Lobby and Michael's if you need them right away.
Since I am just starting out and using food stamps to purchase my apples, sugar, corn syrup and flavor, do you think it’s smart to charge a cheaper price until I’m better at this craft and then raise my prices? I feel people who support me will understand if I raise my prices or should I just start off with higher prices?
It's up to your discretion on what to charge. No one can tell you how to run your own business. If you feel like that's what you need to do, I say go for it! Because at the end of the day you are flipping what you spent back in FS and turning that hustle into cash. Gone head with your bad self. Now that's a certified hustle...lol.
How much do you usually charge or what price do you have in mind? My prices would probably be a little different. I always tell everyone to make sure you add in the cost of all the products and labor.
Thank you! Great point! This is in addition to why you shouldn't be charging $1-$3 dollars for an apple. The cost of the supplies outweighs selling candy apples $1-$3 dollars.
@@cameliagentry3307 that's a good price, but since the cost of groceries are on the rise keep in mind you might want to increase your apples up to another $1. It seems like everything is going up. I'm seeing items in Hobby Lobby and Michael's increasing as well.
@@DIYQUEENDIVA hello DIY queen diva...I am doing rose candy apples with Pina cola Loren flavor, ribbon, and bling sticks...I am only charging $3.00 each they act like that's too much...How much do you think I should charge
Good morning, Donna. Are you saying your candy apples are coming out taffy like? Cook your candy to 300 degrees. If that's not a new candy thermometer you need to replace it. Another thing is, your house can be too warm. Make sure your house is very cool. I keep my house at 65 degrees.
OMG! This is why I did this video. I'm trying to open up treat makers eyes. You're not paying yourself for the labor and time. You definitely want to get your money back for the purchase of the material plus a little profit.
@@lissettemercado7569 $7.50 is a good price because the carnivals sell candy apples for $10-$12 each for a plain candy apple. And those candy apples at the carnival are not as good as your local treat maker. Yes $1-$2 is just not enough to cover the purchase of supplies and labor.
Stick to your prices and don't let anyone try to check you about your prices. Never let anyone try to run or question your business. Nobody can't tell you how to run your own business but yourself.
Shan Baker I hear this all the time. Taking everything into consideration, yes it's very possible that some treat makers have to price their treats according to where they live. However, I just raised my prices due to inflation nationwide. Prices are rising in all stores and even the Dollar Tree went up to $1.25. So if your prices are low due to where you live, you still may want to consider raising them because you're paying more for products to make your treats. You must make a profit unless it's a hobby.
Hi, Rose! You must make a profit or you will dig yourself into a hole. With the price of groceries increasing, you must try to increase your prices too.

So I was thinking of charging 6 apples $45 two plain colored two sprinkled and two sanding sugar with ribbon and colored straw in a bag
That's a good price, because you have the sprinkles, sanding sugar, ribbon, and colored straws. Those items cost to add on an apple.
