Hello beautiful people. We love Toyota 4Runners here at ReveMoto. We don't care if it's the first generation or the 5th generation TRD Pro. We just love 4runners because no one builds vehicles like these anymore. There is something to be said about older cars and the way they last forever. Enough of our self-professed love for the 4Runner. The 4Runner model range is 2003-2009 but there was a facelift in 2006-2009. Same steps for removal but different style bumpers. This is a pretty simple removal process. We know you can do it, you just have to believe! As you can see the bumper has a dent on the passenger side. Yes, the customer did know he could PDR it but he opted for a new bumper. He really loved his 4Runner too. :)
    TOOLS NEEDED:
You will need a socket wrench with a 10mm socket, or a 10mm open wrench, and a flat head screwdriver.
    REMOVAL PROCESS:
This is as simple as it comes. We love that all the bolts are on the same side and this beauty is not over-engineered like other vehicles, cough* GMC. We started with the bottom bolts/screws on the bottom of the bumper. It's best to take the bottom screws off first, so the bumper doesn't fall on you if you do it last. From the bottom of the bumper, we transitioned to the fender liners or the bolts on the wheel well. There are two to three 10mm bolts holding the bumper into place. Don't worry, the bumper is also secured by the bumper brackets. It won't be falling off unless your brackets are non-existent. This particular customer did not have any push pins or clips on the center of his bumper. They were missing like most older cars have missing parts. Normally, you would remove the clips in the middle to get the bumper off. The last step is to pull the bumper off the brackets on both sides. We had a bit of trouble because our customer's bumper bracket on the passenger side was damaged in the accident. This way we had trouble removing the screw on the right-side. Nonetheless, just pop the bumper right off but be careful to not let it fall too fast. You have to unplug the fog lights from the harness. You do not want to risk damaging the harness or fog lights. There's no need in breaking anything and having to replace it.
And, voila! You just removed your 4th generation Toyota 4Runner front bumper cover. Watch the over videos on our series on how to install the bumper. Or, just watch this video in reverse! Thanks for watching. :)

Currently have a straight 36inch light bar mounted to a diy mount on front lic plate mount point. After watching your bumper removal I'm going to mount on top side of bumper support this way it's out of the way and more secure.

Could you show a video on how to install on a 2005 Toyota 4runner Sport the front bumper and all components (i.e. bumper bracket, extension, impact bar, energy absorber, reinforced plate etc...) and once complete put the bumper back on the 4runner?

I would have to ask around if any friends have an 05 4runner. We'll definitely put that on our list to make next. Thanks for the recommendation.

@@lorensherwood4210 is it at minute 6:50 where he is pushing the bumper down? The screw was just spinning in the bumper bracket/retainer, so he had to force it down.
